The day of, I picked up the food cold and heated it myself according to Dawn's instructions, and every item we ordered was fantastic. Literally every single person at the party remarked on how great it all was. I highly recommend Zuzu's for any catering needs, and thank Dawn for helping me pull together a successful family event. She couldn't have been nicer or easier to work with (even when I was inadvertently slightly a jerk during pickup because of a previous and completely unrelated interaction I had had earlier that day). We're very likely to order again.

I researched local eateries that had outdoor seating and made my way down to Zuzu's. Though most of the tables were roped off to the side, I noticed a couple open ones in the front, so I proceeded. The small shop is quaint and cute, but the menu is ample. The sandwich selections sounded scrumptions and I had a hard time picking just one. I finally settled on the French Chicken that includes grilled chicken, goat cheese, asparagus, tomato, greens and herb mayo. You get your choice of panini, sandwich bread or a wrap. Not many places offer flavored wraps and I am happy to report that Zuzu's does (white, wheat or spinach). I got the spinach. I asked the worker if the patio was open and she directed me to the same two patio tables I had seen when I first approached. She seemed a little stressed or preoccupied, but no matter, I was content to enjoy the day. I waited at my table for the sandwich to arrive and got to do some people watching along main street in the crisp air. My sandwich arrived in less than 10 minutes and I dived right in. Delicious! I love how it was laid out, every layer provided an even bite. I'm a sucker for anything with goat cheese on it, so it was already a win, but I hadn't seen the asparagus listed on the menu, so I was a little taken aback. But I have to say that it provided a perfect little crunch. The chicken was tender and the herb aioli was uplifting. I read a previous review about the Zuzu's pickles, and I have to agree. I actually make my own pickles at home and would prefer a more fresh sliced pickle on the side than the one that was provided. Overall, my first time at Zuzu's was a 4 star experience, and I look forward to enjoying many more delectable menu items!

The food is delicious, well priced, and sourced from local farms and producers. The staff is kind, professional and friendly. The space is light, airy and comfortable. My kids LOVE the ping pong table and the food. We have sampled the lemonade (with orange blossom water!), the falafel plate, the Croque l'autumne, ham & brie and many of their sweets. It's all been delightful. I dream of the crunchy little falafel with warm, soft pita fairly regularly. The croque is gooey with cheese and sweet squash. Housemade nougat is a delicious treat. We just can't wait for an excuse to come back again and again!

We stopped into Uncommon Feasts for lunch and found parking on a side street. Walking into the building, one must navigate down a few hallways until you pass a working prep kitchen into an open seating area. There are quite a few long tables, couches, shelves with fresh jams and other kitchen goods, and a ping pong table. The menu was written on a sheet of construction paper reflecting changing, daily specials. One orders at a window peering into the kitchen with staff hard at work preparing meals and supporting an impressive catering operation. We enjoyed our brunch - especially the salmon, cream cheese, and arugula on a One Mighty Mill Bagel and less for the tortilla plate (fried egg, kale, squash, red onion on a tortilla). The weekend brunch menu had a nice mix of vegetarian and non-veg options and we look forward to returning for dinner. Staff was very friendly and hospitable. Yesterday (Saturday) I ordered pulled chicken, pit beans, and cornbread with the coleslaw on the side. I hadn't eaten since breakfast and was famished. The pulled chicken was tough, dried out, and chewy, I tried saturating it in barbecue sauce but that didn't help. I ate it one piece at a time with lots of chewing to soften it up. I made it three quarters of the way through before surrendering. The coleslaw was fine. Then I tried the pit beans. The use of pit here is a misnomer, unless they're named after the pits of Hell. The old recipe was a spicy version of classic New England baked beans. Now I love beans. Beans and eggs for breakfast. Beans and franks for supper on a Saturday night or at a church supper. The side of baked beans that was an integral part of a Full English or Full Irish Breakfast was a welcome part of many business trips. Pit beans are not those beans. No, these are a different species of beans. Whereas normal beans are soaked in water to soften them up as a normal part of preparation, pit beans seem to be soaked in vinegar. I certainly don't mind vinegar (a mild solution of acetic acid), especially in a good vinaigrette salad dressing, but this level of acidity was sufficient to remove rust. Trying to eat these beans was like trying to ingest sulfuric acid. I had one taste. Nope. The cornbread was fine. This is northern-style corn bread, made with sugar. If you mix the sweet barbecue sauce and spicy barbecue sauce in a fifty-fifty ratio you get a decent I informed the truck manager of my results and suggested execution for whoever came up with the recipe. He was not amused.

We recently went for my sister's birthday while I was in town. The building is starting to look a bit rundown (note the missing windows above the main entrance) and there is quite a bit of staining on the ceiling, apparently from water leaks. The wait staff was great, and we all like the salad bar and the bread and cheese that you cut yourself. The entrees, however, were disappointing. The meat on three of our four orders was overcooked (my nephew's medium rare steak was burned and charred on the outside), and three of the four sides (steamed vegetables and rice) were served ice cold. I ordered the baked scallop and steak combo and the scallops were delicious, but my medium steak was well done, and my vegetables were cold. By the time they brought out replacement vegetables and rice, we were already almost halfway through our meals. I used to love coming here when I was younger when the wait staff dressed in overalls and hats like train engineers. This place definitely needs a makeover to get it back to the fine dining experience it used to be.

All food was brought home there was no place to sit. The cheese sauce over the nachos was so hot spice wise that it could not be consumed, neither of the two. We then went on to purchase two meals from the BBQ truck. I ordered the brisket plate and added two spareribs for an extra fee. On the bottom, bottom of the plate was a piece of white bread with only TWO small slices of brisket, hardly enough for the price of $24 and an extra five for the two spareribs. Beside the ribs not being edible the meat if any could not be pulled off of the bone. The second plate had three spareribs on it and same with them, not edible. What a waste of a nice day, and the money. No we are not picky but please DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.

Mom and I had the brisket, pork belly and pork ribs -- all were so incredibly tender, juicy and exceptionally flavorful! We loved the brussels sprouts with bacon and coleslaw sides. The cornbread was also perfect -- not overly sweet but sweet enough and a perfect complement to the BBQ meats. Could have used some Shoofly pie ;) we had the banana pudding for dessert to satisfy Mom's sweet tooth. Although we just left, I'm dreaming about the next time we return, which will be soon!
