AMAZING. This place is such a hidden gem. Hidden meaning the location sneaks up on you to the point where you have to fly into the parking lot and almost kill yourself flying out onto route one. Totally worth it. The best staff and amazing food. The marinated chicken is literally to die for. Not sure what they put in it but damn. The deli is fresh and in my opinion better then some of the delis in the north end. Great subs, pastas, sauces, pastries you name it it's all amazing. Great staff and a really good rewards program. Not the best customer service at this place. I came in for the first time and started out by looking at the menu. Within 10 seconds a woman behind the counter is asking me what I want to order. I told her I needed a minute and she seemed annoyed. A better approach would be to 1. Greet customer 2. Ask if they have any questions Instead of this, she comes back 8 seconds later and asks what i wanted again. Ended up making a rushed decision and got a pretty mediocre sub as a result. This place seems to be a tiny Italian grocery store specializing in prepared foods. There are plenty of places to satisfy this need on rt. 1, so I hope they up their customer service skills to remain competitive read more

I saw a few comments regarding poor customer service...never the case in my experience. Everyone has gone out of their way to be helpful and pleasant. The rewards system is a bonus and I've been happy to take advantage of it a few times. Found this place on way to work drove by many times thought it was a butchers shop but one day was in need of something for lunch took a shot and stopped in and I'm sure glad I did. They do have fresh cut meats beef ribs pork chicken you name it. Cold cuts, subs hot and cold they also have pizza arancini's fried eggplant chicken cutlets all kinds of pasta dinners soups you name it. I stop in a few days a week I usually will get a couple arancini's with sauce one day they are filled plenty of cheese meat and peas they also have the Rabe ones. Other days a coworker and i will load up on the fried chicken cutlets and fried eggplant get some imported provolone container of sauce some rolls and loaf of Italian bread and feed ourselves and a few of the nurses on our shift and everyone loves the food. We've also gotten cold cuts for the staff and they were also delicious. As for the meats my wife has gone and had some New York sirloins cut nice and thick for the grill meat was so tender same with burgers. Definitely a great spot. We use Cerra's for all of our catering needs. They are the best! For Christmas Eve we ordered several dishes, including Chicken Marsala. We asked them to cut the chicken into smaller pieces. They were bite size and delicious. (We had another caterer refuse to do this a few years ago and never went back.) Their Eggplant Rolatini are to die for! Would love to give more stars but bought a tenderloin roast for Xmas from Cerra's, cost me $170 for a 4.5 lb roast. Prepared it to cook but it was not tied up as a roast MUST be to cook evenly. So at $170 I, a novice had to do what an expert butcher didn't do and truss the roast. I know they're busy but that's no excuse. I paid the extra $15 per lb for the expertise along with quality meat. Roast turned out nicely, luckily the recipe I was using stressed the importance of tying up the roast or maybe it would not have. read more

I first had their food at a catered event at work, the second year they catered,I had to make sure I found out who catered because I was crazy about their vegetarian wrap. I Love this place! I tell EVERYONE I can to go there, I try different menu options every time I visit and I'm always impressed. They do steak tip subs AMAZING, my kids love the chicken broccoli ziti and my fave is the eggplant vegetarian wrap and the tortellini pasta salad. They are super CLEAN and so nice. This rating is a one for a simple reason... Many years ago I went to buy a Calzone, small one, and they had some cold ones on the counter then at that moment brought out a tray of hot Calzones. I asked if I could have a hot one and the lady said "NO" and she was serious, that was about 30 years ago and I never went back. There is nothing special about the calzones, just that they were close by and I was hungry. Sorry folks at Cerra but I had to write this because me being Italian and treated like that from a local Italian Family is not acceptable. Incredible Italian sandwiches!! I live in Maine and have been hunting for a authentic Italian sandwich for YEARS. I've gone everywhere in Maine but to no avail. I've been going to this place for about 2 years when they were Lynnfield Deli and I've gotten my orders messed up a few times, oh well, today I thought I'd give them another shot since they moved to Saugus and once again I got stale bread that I can't even swallow, I even asked for it to be toasted and it wasn't which made it worse. They didn't offer to remake it or have one toasted they just said come back and I'll give you your money back. When bread is stale you should at least toast it or put it in the microwave for 30 seconds so it would be soft. For those who go and get lunch ask if the bread is fresh and check your order before you leave the establishment. You don't want your lunch hour ruined. I'm all set! read more

When they were in Lynnfield, everything was great. I feel like they've gone down hill a little but since they moved. Packaged sausages are good, sandwiches are OK. Make sure you check the loaf of scali bread before you buy it. The past two times I've brought it home, it was stale and had mold -- I guess it was old. I got an Italian sub from here and it really was delicious. Beautiful cold cuts they are so fresh. They also use pepperoni on the sub which I love.
