DiCara's is our go to for subs. Their Italian sub is outstanding as is the chicken cutlet sub. They are always happy to help you when you go in and are careful to make sure you get what you order. The deli is always very clean and tidy. They have a couple small tables inside if you want to sit and eat. Parking is always available in their lot. read more

Love this Italian deli. Fresh made sandwiches with top notch cold cuts on great bread (the bread is key). My go to is an Italian with everything, but I've tried several others (pastrami, tuna salad, etc and all were good). One of my favorite places in the area for a sub sandwich. Not bad overall. Not bad, at all. Fast service. Good selection of sandwiches if you're in the Reading/North Reading area. There's a few high top tables, some window bar seating and plenty of other food to go with the sandwich. I got the roast beef w lettuce, tomato, pickles and Mayo. I am a regular at Dicara's but today was just another reason why i keep going back! We used them to cater for a gathering after my father in law's funeral. When we spoke with them they recommend the perfect amount of food! We had the mac &cheese, CBZ and chicken parm, all of those were great. We also got a cold cut platter. Almost a perfect Italian sub. The only thing that would make it perfect, would be 1 more layer of cold cuts. The braided roll (not sure if this is the standard, but I asked for it), the good cherry pepper slices (not the typical hot relish), the dressing and the wrap. All great. I'll echo what others have said, one more layer of meat would be best. The quality of the meat and cleanliness of the counter, blow Lucci's (now McKinnons) in Wilmington away. Owners, if your reading this, I implore you to just add a few more slices of cold cuts. Maybe 2-3 slices of prosciutto. Really, I consider myself an Italian sub expert and this one is 8/10. I've been going to Dicara's since it first opened so it saddens me to say I probably wont be going back. My three go to subs I got there were meatball, chicken parm and an Italian. I'll start with the meatball since that is usually what I base my opinions on at any deli or sub shop. Something has changed with them over the years. To me, they taste like frozen meatballs they buy from their wholesaler. The taste and texture is just off now. The chicken parm honestly looks and tastes like frozen chicken finger and definitely not nice and thin, crispy, home made cutlets. Last but not least the Italian. It was just way tp skimpy on the meats. I met a couple friends there and we all got Italians and we were all disappointed. Over the years I loved their meatball and cutlet subs but they are not the same. Maybe i'll give them one more try but with all the other shops out there maybe I wont. read more

Hands down the best subs you will find in the area. I live about 15 minutes away and drive by 10 different sub shops to come here. Our favorites are their Chicken Parm, Meatball, Buffalo Chicken (which isn't on the menu) and Italian. I *REALLY* wish they would update their menu. They post all of these amazing pictures and descriptions on their Facebook page of food they serve asking "Have you tried our...?" The menu they have seems generic. How can I try all this food that isn't listed on the menu? I feel like I'm missing out on so much! Regardless, my wife and I try to visit at least once a week. I got an Italian sub because the previous reviews with photos here: the sub looked full and delicious! The sub I got was not so full, I'd actually say it was skimpy. Also they are not friendly in there at all. I walked in, wasn't greeted. I stood at the counter while the lady just stared at me, again no "hi how are you?"... just staring. Until she said "do you know what you want?" There was also maybe 6 staff members working and I was the only one in the store so it wasn't like they were busy. I've seen many other reviews about their terrible customer service. We LOVE DiCaras Deli! This is one of our Friday night staples for dinner. I pick it up on the way home, do a little shopping in the store, and I can always get in and out quickly. I used to think this place was ok considering theres not many delis in the area, now I just flat out hate it. There are absolutely some of the rudest people working here. I walk in and try to say hello, how are you, you know the normal nice customer things you say when you walk into a store and they completely disregard and ignore me. It's crazy. Their fake italian food isn't worth it, i'll drive 30 minutes to the city over 10 minutes to this place. we ordered two subs today and they were excellent However after we saw what we saw today we will never visit this establishment again. the older gentleman that was either the owner or manager as he was directing all the other staff brought our subs over as the girl at the counter had gone out back. after we paid he looked around to make sure none of the staff was there. He reached in the tip jar and pulled out money and palmed it then pushed it into his sleeve. No matter how good the food is I will not frequent a place where the management or owner steals from their employees. It really is such a shame as we did find the food quite good. I recommend at the very least don't put tips in the tip jar as they probably aren't going to the workers. also I am used to paying 1$-2$ for gluten free roll but to be told it would be $4 extra for a roll is ludicrous read more

We were thrilled when this place opened in our neighborhood because there wasn't anything like it in the near vicinity. Parking can be tricky when the karate place next door is in full swing - people park in the "DiCara's Only" spots and then march directly into the karate studio, leaving deli customers to circle the lot. First off, the quality of food is good and everything we've ever ordered has been fresh. We've ordered party platters a few times and found them nicely done although a little highly priced. The sandwiches are very inconsistent depending on who makes them, which is a shame because both the breads and fillings are good quality. Sometimes an $8 roast beef sub is awesomely prepared and other times it is a sad mess wrapped in paper that's soggy within 2 minutes, and when you unwrap it you're saying "where's the beef?" They might want to set a standard for all staff to follow so customers know what to expect on a regular basis. We like most of the staff, many of whom are on the young side, but we find the bald guy is a bit off putting; customer service is not his strong suit. He is very brusque and reminds us of "The Soup Nazi" from Seinfeld. He may be the owner, not sure, but if he is all the more reason he should be more pleasant instead of making customers feel like they're an inconvenience. read more

Fantastic subs! Friendly staff, great service. Love this place! I came here after a friend recommended their subs to me. They're a bit pricier than my other go-to place for subs, but it's worth it! The rolls are extremely fresh, and I hear that if you get there early enough, you might be able to get a braided roll. They have pasta trays and cold cut platters as well, and I got to sample some of their lasagna at a party I went to recently. They don't have any seats, but they have plenty of specialty items in stock to browse while you wait for your sub. read more

Small but mighty Italian Deli. I stopped by and ordered an Italian sub my first time. It wasn't loaded like other well known places but the quality was outstanding. The smell of fresh bread and great cold cuts brought me back to the first time I had an Italian Sub as a kid. I have been back a few times making a special detour just to have another one. Today I stopped by again for another and also bought a prepared meal of Ziti and Meatballs with some fresh bread. I normally don't order anybody's prepared meals because I'm always disappointed with the sauce or meatballs, being a chef myself. This time was different. Everything tasted like home at Grandma's and I was again impressed. I will be back over and over, even if it is a ride from Billerica just to enjoy a great home tasting meal. I don't even care if the service is bad like some negative comments made here which I did not find at all in all my visits. Thank You DiCara's for a quality product and great service.
