Use to be the best deli around but what a downfall. Probably the worst sandwich I ever paid for, they have the bare minimum of chip and drinks seems like the are weeks away from closing. Very sad just no effort in the sandwich at all. Something as simple as a turkey and cheese was tasteless with moldy bread. Lost a loyal customer. read more

I absolutely LOVE this place. They have amazing food. The corned beef is incredible. They also have soups, salads, wine, and desserts you can grab on the go. The staff is so nice and welcoming. And the store is just so cute! There are the coolest old school decorations like vintage Coca Cola signs and random vintage desks, car parts, and whatever you can think of. You can eat or wait at an old desk, which is super cool. I love the yard sale vibe. It is an awesome place to hang out and grab food. I love this little shop so much! read more

Glowing reviews for no reason. Cool little country store. Went in and asked for a breakfast sandwich at 12 and they gave me an attitude saying it's the lunch menu. That's is okay but lose the attitude first and you should put something up saying when breakfast ends. They made the sandwich for me which was nice but the amount of attitude just to put eggs on the grill is why they get this review. They say run don't walk but I'd walk or walk by it. read more

This is a really well-stocked gourmet mini-market. I almost always stop here on the way to relatives' homes, because I know I can find some really orginal and delicious treats to bring along. They also have standard groceries and even a fresh produce section. I've heard they have terrific ice cream. They have a "penny" candy section and I always fill up a couple of little bags for my nieces. I think they have a sandwich shop as well, because I have seen people eating at the picnic tables on the front porch. It is very quaint, but modern, well-appointed, and beautiful. read more

Very charming locale, with lots to offer modern customers with an old-time feel. Super cute. However, I have seen a lot of posts about the deli being subpar, and that was my unfortunate experience today. I gave a young deli worker my order, and then a gentleman behind me ordered. Five minutes later, his came out first, and then I watched another worker start to make mine wrap while the youngster started on a milkshake. He must have been a regular, so he gets the better and faster experience? A few minutes later, the sandwich still wasn't up, and I though it was a bit weird for it to take so long to make a chicken salad wrap with 3 ingredients! I heard a worker call out, "chicken salad with lettuce!"...I said, "mine had pickles and tomatoes, so I'm not sure if that's supposed to be mine"...one of the workers said, "No", grabbed my wrap and tossed it on the counter saying, "I didn't know where you were", though I was standing five feet away. Though the workers didn't know I was a first-timer, my personal belief is that in a customer-service based industry, employees should treat each customer as if she were their first. The opposite was true in my case today. Though I wasn't impressed with the cost of the $9.00 average wrap, the greater atrocity was the sad attempt at customer service. Rarely do I give places 5 stars, but I really enjoyed this place. It's a country store yes, but its someplace I could totally see myself running too. They have lots of good prepared foods, a lot of good prepared frozen foods and desserts and a deli where they will make a sandwich to order. There's a small hot buffet and salad bar too, and tons of snacks of all kinds. The meatballs were very yummy too. This place would be perfect in a small country vacation area as they carry pretty much everything you could need in a small space. I love places like this! read more

I am so lucky to live in a town with this wonderful country store. The deli is great. I'd tell you my favorite sandwiches but it would be a long list. The employees are friendly and accommodating. It's great to be able to run in for that one ingredient you forgot to get at the grocery and their packaged meals are very good. The point system is very generous. Love the old country store feel that Ryer's captured with memorabilia collected from all over North Reading. Old business signs I remember from growing up in town along with antique bicycles, old Coca Cola machine, antique tables and chairs to have breakfast or lunch, makes this a special must stop in to see. There's a wonderful deli with amazingly well stuffed sandwiches, salad bar with soups, wine, ice cream, greeting cards, diary, you name it they've got it! The deli guy did a great job on the food. We had 3 different sandwiches; all were excellent quality and too big for me to finish. Our first time visit. Stopped by for some deli sandwiches. Which were actually pretty good. However the guy behind the deli counter was ridiculously rude. Not being acknowledged is one thing. But he was obviously disturbed every time we asked him a question. Such as cheese or soup selections. Cashier was nice. But not looking forward to Mr. deli guy again. Great place for a quick bite to eat or if you forgot that item at the grocery store. They also have a bunch of unique food items and have Don's meats, which are always delicious! I grabbed a sandwich for lunch over the weekend and decided to just sit there and eat. The guys making the sandwiches were polite and helpful and really seemed to enjoy what they were doing. They were joking with each other and made the environment overall happy, while being respectful of the customers. The sandwich was great! read more

Ryer's is a gem in this town. So much more than what you can find in a convenience store, they have a great selection and fresh products from local vendors. The best part is the deli. Complete with grill and cafe tables, you can enjoy their specialized sandwiches. It's not super fancy fare, but it's fantastic if you want to grab some cafe style sandwiches and go down the street to the park. Located across the street from the High School, it is also a convenient, safe place for the youth of the town to visit after school lets out for a snack or sandwich. read more

In addition to a friendly staff and great service, the quality of the food (Deli included) and variety is fantastic. Happy to see a lot of locally sourced food choices too. Although it is a cute little country store in N. Reading, don't be fooled, everything is overpriced (grocery, toiletries, etc.) The deli could be a great place to stop for a bite to eat but they have had so many problems, with mice, outdated ingredients and in an environment with little to no sanitation. The customer service is non-existent, you can tell since everyone there seems to come and go quickly and generally hates their job. I really wouldn't ever order food from there again, there have been multiple issues where they have left prepared food on the shelves that should of been tossed (probably to save money - but that is money saved on your health expense!) Honestly, if you are in the area and you have to pick up a soda/water, its a good stop other than that you are better off at McDonalds/Wendys (and that's pretty sad) If you are looking to support a local business there are plenty of others much better than this sad excuse for a store. read more
