We didn't order any food this time, just drinks. I had the Strawberry Moscow Mule, and we also ordered an Old Fashioned. Both were good and easy to drink, but neither really stood out or wowed us. They were enjoyable, just not especially memorable. Our bartender, Al, was such a sweetheart! She was friendly, attentive, and had the cutest, most distinctive laugh that made the experience even more enjoyable. Great service can really make a difference, and she definitely did. The Rockefeller oysters were the best I have had yet... the spinach and cheese stuffing was absolutely delicious. The gorgeous weather played a major role in how electric the atmosphere was, and the outside patio was jubilant and filled with patrons. Now for me the raw oyster tower selection pushed my experience over the top. The oysters were fresh and chilled to perfection. And for the record, the menu is filled with a lot more tasty dishes than just oysters... so I encourage you on the next nice day ( over the spring & summer ) to stop by Mama's on the Half Shell for an experience that won't disappoint.

She has always been wanting to try this place. And she absolutely loved it. Clavel has been in the Remington neighborhood since 2015. Mainly a family/minority owned taqueria and mezcaleria with deep Sinaloa roots. One thing I absolutely love here is the ceviche. My favorites are the Aguachile( shrimp cured in lime and spicy cilantro pesto). The salmon crudo was straight fire and I always love the ponzu tuna. You can never go wrong with the queso fundido. And not pictured were the tacos. We also got a few tacos to share for the table. The barbacoa de borrego and the El lucahdor( fish taco) is my favorite. And their cocktails are to die for. You really can never go wrong with having dinner here at Clavel. Great place to stop in and have a few drinks and grab delicious food.

We were seated at a table that overlooked the court and a digital screen that flashed beautiful photos of Italy's top tourist spots. My kids were thrilled when they saw Venice, since they just learned about it in school. After ordering food, I took the kids to the bocce court while my partner could enjoy the wine and watch us from above. I know he appreciated having the break and a good glass of wine to go with it. Service was friendly and the food was fantastic. We ordered several dishes including several types of pasta, meatballs, cheesy bread and a caesar salad. There was about 8 of us and we were seated downstairs in the bar area at a high top. Despite there being a reservation, it felt like our party was a last minute thought. The table was cramped and the ambiance of the downstairs bar area was dingy and dimly-lit. Our server, who was also the only bartender, did his best to multi task all night, although his demeanor was not very warm or friendly. I ordered the gluten free version of the Samantha fettuccine. Despite this being the only noodle they don't make in house, I had to pay extra for it. Annoying, but not totally unexpected. What was disappointing was the total price for the dish. It came out to be almost $50.... I believe the pasta is marked as market price due to the inclusion of crab meat but when it arrived, there was barely any in the dish. The flavor of the sauce was good but definitely not worth the price tag. I won't be returning anytime soon.
