Wow! I wanted to come check this place out but I just got done watching a TikTok saying that this establishment is full of rude workers and the customer service is horrible. I'm not sure if it's racially motivated, but in the comment section of TikTok and on here, yelp, I've seen countless people displaying their distaste for this establishment based on how the staff treats their guests. Fish Head Cantina really hits the spot. We came here back to back days, and we never left disappointed. If you're in the market for a solid fish sandwich and fries, I recommend you get the pub fish. Decided to come here with my wife, dad, and a friend for brunch on a Sunday before an Orioles game hoping they would have sushi and Mexican food for brunch. Met a friend for lunch here, my first time here. This is a pretty big place and there is also an outdoor patio area but we dined indoors. The menu has something for everyone. I chose the chicken quesadilla (my go-to at a new spot). It was great, I actually couldn't finish it all, it was such a large serving. Our server was attentive without being overbearing. The restrooms were clean. I would come back here for lunch again. I ordered the Shrimp Sandwich in the small size which was PLENTY. The shrimp salad was good, not too much mayonnaise and the perfect amount of Old Bay. The chips were a little stale but the fries were delicious and crispy. My friend enjoyed her burger. We also order mozzarella sticks (pretty standard). It wasn't until I mentioned the order was from my company that their tone changed and I was told, "Oh, since it's from your company, we'll give them to you." This made it clear that I wasn't being respected as a customer on my own--only as a representative of a larger, likely more 'valuable' customer. As a Black woman, I couldn't help but notice how differently I was treated compared to the general tone and atmosphere I've observed when others are being helped. It was upsetting and disappointing, especially given how much business my company brings to this restaurant. On my way to Baltimore Airport and stopped to meet some family for lunch at Fish Head Cantina. The menu online has a variety of choices to satisfy almost everyone, so seemed like a good place with easy access on and off the highway. The Baltimore Ravens were playing and there are lots of televisions around a large bar area. It was loud at times, expected when the home team is winning. There were lots of tables and no issues finding an open one. The service was friendly, fast, and willing to help out when one of the selections from the group was not liked. Nothing wrong with the food itself. I don't normally have tacos, but the rockfish sounded like a good option. The fish was blackened, topped with lettuce and chunks of mango. Served with chips, queso and sour cream. Lots of flavor, cooked well, and did not disappoint. This place is recommended for a meal, quick bite, or some drinks! read more

A return visit to the Cantina-they do not disappoint. It sounds strange to say, we went to a dive bar & on one order we got: super cheap craft beer, exceptional sushi, delicious lamb gyros, plump juicy burgers, and Mexican tacos..but that's Fish Head Cantina...a variety of specialty dishes, brought together, and no matter the flavor they can do it well. Special shout out to the drool-mazing old bay house chips. They did stop their happy hour food specials & sushi specials, but the menu has some much variety at reasonable prices, it's still easy to find cheap yummy eats. They also have had better craft tap lists in the past, but they boast a lot of the local MD staples-yay drinking local! My only woe during this visit was the rotating staff- they were sort of 'all hands on deck', but that led to us having to try really hard to be noticed because staff assumptions someone was helping us when nobody was-and just wonky communication of what we told one waiter getting done wrong by another- I wanted to help make their life easier by just ordering drinks at the bar, maybe that would have been better? read more

This little spot was a pleasant surprise for me cause it was a rainy day in which I had plans on doing nothing. When a homegirl of mines hit me like meet me here. Crazy thing is I've been out here plenty of times to get my DOT physical but never thought to stop here. It's the perfect lunch spot cause it comes with its own parking lot so unless they're packed you're good on parking. It's a nice little laid back bar with a truck stop feel to it. Now i must say it wasn't the best looking Rueben I've ever had but it was pretty damn good. Management came off very unprofessional. Upon sitting at the sushi bar, we were greeted by who we were later told is the manager. He said "Hey guys! We will be with you in a minute". While waiting, un-greeted for about ten minutes, we started to flag him down because we noticed it was the last few minutes of happy hour and he literally stopped to get the order of a new table right next to us. Apparently, that was a no no because he ignored us COMPLETELY and signaled to a waitress to tell us that we were no longer welcomed to eat due to dress code rules. Interesting how that wasn't an issue upon sitting down. Dress code rules are absolutely fine but his entire manner of dealing with us was oddly personal, especially when we never even spoke to him. I am a server and understand it can get overwhelming, but being rude is never okay. We vacation in Maryland 4 times a year and frequent the same places each time, but won't be back here! I've been here about 3-4 times and I've always had a good experience. Food is good and the staff are friendly. Yesterday on the 12th I was refused drink service because the gentleman thought my ID was fake. I have a Virginia drivers license/ID. I look young but I'm 28 for godsake. I offered my DoD contractor ID so it could be matched up with the ID I already provided. I was told no it has to be a state ID. Yet I provided my legit ID. Fish Head Cantina is a staple of the area. Are they the best bar ever? No. Are they the coolest place to go? No. Is it perfect for a chill evening when you want a decent beer selection and some noms? Yes. A friend and I came here around 8pm on a Sunday. It was generally not busy (perfectly fine with us). There was a good beer selection - I got the cider, my friend sampled some of the beers. I got a chicken cesar wrap with tots. It was fine and exactly what I'd expect for this type of bar. The tots were nice and crisp - can't beat that! Beyond that, the service is absolutely phenomenal! Like A++ great. Very attentive and took the time to give recommendations. I went with the American burger and my wife went seafood. It's surprisingly neat, bright and spacious inside, which I was not expecting. They have a main bar area with some high top tables on one side and pool tables on the other. Then, they had a dining room which was seperate as well. They also have a touchtunes jukebox which is always a plus for me. I had stopped in randomly to grab a beer and was pleasantly surprised at the variety, they had about 8-10 regular drafts and 6 or so rotating seasonal options from what I remember. They also have a pretty extensive food menu, which surprised me. I ended up trying some wings which were also pretty good. I went for the spicy option and they were actually very spicy, which was great. If I could say one thing it's that it was a little hard to flag people down, but the service was very nice and helpful in general. I would however love to stop back in and try some of the other food options in the future. read more

This has been sitting in my drafts and is from my experience on June 11, 2019 My husband's workplace is right down the road, so this is a nice place to meet up for lunch with him. There's usually a wait for food since it's a popular lunch spot, so I make sure to get here early and order, and then when the food comes out, I send him a text so that he can head over, thus maximizing our family time during his lunch break. On this particular occasion, I got the Honey Sriracha Shrimp Tacos with tater tots and an Arnold Palmer, and he got the Pigtown (cooked medium, and with no onions) with tater tots and water. Our daughter fell asleep in the car on the way here, so I popped her in the stroller, but was worried when I didn't see a ramp, so I popped in and asked them if they would help me carry the stroller up the stairs to the restaurant. It turns out that they do have a ramp, and were more than happy to show me the way. Our waitress was so nice and helpful. The prices are really good, and although we have experienced a bit of a wait for food the couple times we've been here, the friendliness and taste of the food keeps us coming back. Don't let the shady exterior keep you from coming in! I was wonderfully surprised about how much I liked it here, and I now think differently about restaurants and businesses that look "bad" from the outside. Came here for Sunday brunch. It was fairly packed but the service was fast and friendly. I ordered the shrimp and grits. The shrimp was slightly over cooked but they had good flavor. The grits were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Also they have $15 bottomless crushes, bloody Mary's, and mimosas. The crushes were spot on and there were lots of flavors to choose from.
