They serve standard bar food along with "home cooked" style specials. They have a variety of dishes to choose from on the menu but the wings and tater tots are my go to. My son is in the hospital and requested a crab pretzel for dinner. I tried to place an order on Door Dash for Shannon's but an error kept coming up so I called there and explained the situation. They were super kind and directed me to another route in ordering. Our food was delivered with an extra bag of desserts for my son with a thoughtful note wishing him a speedy recovery. Not only was the food amazing, but the staff went above and beyond for our family. It brought a tear to my eye and a huge smile on my son's face. I was in town for a conference and stopped by for lunch. The place was not very full (it was 1:30 pm or so) but the atmosphere was chill and the server/bartender very friendly. We were 4 and ordered a variety of drinks and food items. I got the crab fries and was blown away at how amazing they were. To the extent that I came again instead of eating at my conference venue (where my meals were included). The fries were crispy and literally drowning in a crab Alfredo type sauce and mountains of lump crab meat!! This is the stuff dreams are made of!! read more

I went here on Friday night to attend a Paint Nite with my sister and was pleasantly surprised! There was a large, spacious room in the basement where we did our painting and the waitress was awesome! There were about 40 people at the event and she seemed to be working alone down there. She was definitely hustling and it showed! There were also food and drink specials. I got the $5 Orange Crushes. I will say that it tasted mostly like OJ, but oh well. They were only $5. We also got bacon cheese fries which were delish! The parking situation is a little crazy because they only have about 30 spots. Normally, you could park in Annapolis Rd, but they recently added no parking signs. You can park on the side roads now instead. Luckily, we got an email about this before Paint Nite. That was helpful. However, if you're just popping in you wouldn't know. Overall, I found Shannon's to be a hidden gem! I am hoping to come back and try more food and drink another time! read more

I had the misfortune of having dinner at Shannon's with my family on Saturday, May 22. I ordered the nachos with beef as I love nachos. My wife ordered the ahi tuna. The nachos were the worst I've ever had. (Seriously, how do you screw up nachos?) They use that fake yellow cheese that's runny. If you are going to put nachos on the menu sped a couple dolars and buy shredded Mexican cheese and use that. The beef was just beef with no taco seasoning added. The tomatoes were clices of tomatoes not cut up into cubes. It was terrible. My wife's Ahi Tuna was super spicy as in hot spciy. My wife does not like spicy but nothing on the menu indicated it was hot. Further, they added the same spicy hot sauce to the salad that accompanied the tuna. Oh and the food is way over priced for what you get. My daughter's chicken tenders looked like they were oozing with grease. My son's pizza was tasteless. What a horrible experience. The food here is delicious, they have a pretty good variety, and the prices are reasonable. I've never had a bad meal here and have tried much of the menu. My favorite is the Half & Half soup which always has huge chunks of crab meat rather than just the slivers some places like to throw in. The wait staff are always friendly and keep up with refills. The dinning area, bar, and bathrooms are kept very clean. I've played music bingo here before which was fun and I believe they host other games as well. The only thing that is a slight bother is the parking lot; they don't have the most space for larger vehicles so you may need to find off street parking. Give the place a try, you won't be disappointed. read more

I was out looking for food at a late hour a couple months ago and found this place thanks to Yelp*. It was PACKED on a weekend night despite COVID and likely because it is on the Anne Arundel County border and most places in Anne Arundel remained closed. Anyway, the food was good, the restaurant was clean, and the service was fast and friendly. My chief complaint was that the clientelle was mostly young so the music was all "suburban kid" trash. Thankfully, they have TouchTunes so you could compete with it a little bit and mix it up. I would come back if I was in the area and was vaccinated. lol read more

This place was recommended to me on another app, being new in town, I asked for suggestions. It's a nice pub and the food was very good! I ordered takeout Cajun chicken pasta with broccoli, my daughter ordered the sampler platter. I stumbled upon this pub while on a business trip. I was a little nervous since it only had 15 reviews and 3 pictures but it was perfect!! The fries were excellent and I had the crab topped burger that was great. The place was packed, it was a song trivia/bingo themed night and there were bags games outside (Thursday). My boyfriend always talks about their crab dip. I finally was able to go in and try some. It wasn't the worst thing I've tasted but it wasn't good either. It has a sandy grittiness to it and I think there was maybe one peice of crab in this super cheesy dip. It is pretty much cream cheese covered in more cheese. Not really my idea of a crab dip but again it wasn't the worst thing ever. The service however was. The bartenders treat you like crap unless you are a regular and ignore you. My boyfriend put money into the jukebox to play some songs and the bartender said **** this song and skipped it. Someone in the bar said "hey you owe me money for that song and he said IDC" I recommend not going to this bar unless you are in the mood to be ignored. read more

Shannon's is a small pub-style restaurant bar in Baltimore Highlands. It's easy to find right on Annapolis Road (which becomes B&A Blvd further south) and it's small parking lot fills up at popular times. It's not a very large place, half the space is taken up by the circular bar, and the other half of the room has several tables for diners. Large flatscreens are scattered throughout. They have an average beer selection, but one that's good enough. I opted for a Shocktop draft while my wife stuck with Guinness. We arrived during happy hour, but the pricing was still odd. My tiny mugs of Shocktop were $2.25 while my wife's pints of Guinness were six bucks. (They are capitalizing on their Irish heritage and serving Guinness at $3.17 for St. Patrick's Day celebrations.) Sizing options were not offered by our waitress, so I guess that's just how they serve them. Every table was filled while we were there, but our waitress valiantly kept up with the room. We started with the mussels, which had a tasty but thick broth and was served with crispy garlic bread. My crabcake entrée was very large, packed with meat and just enough filling to hold it together but was light on the seasoning. My wife really enjoyed her Shannon's sandwich, which was packed with tasty ingredients to the point that the basic Kaiser roll did it a disservice. Shannon's is clearly a local favorite, and it's a good place to watch a game. It's a step up from nearby dives and if you just want a basic place to enjoy a beer, this place will fit the bill. read more

They had a large menu selection but I was looking for healthier alternatives that didn't lack on quantity because I was starving. I ordered the pork chops (2 bone in chops) and since their side choices were limited, I chose green beans and mashed potatoes (I know, not healthy.. but it was that or fries). I was caught off guard when I wasn't given the chance to ask for my pork to be cooked medium and I knew this meal was going to be... dry. And not to my surprise, the pork was so overcooked I was actually sad at the reality that I had to eat two of these hockey pucks to satisfy my hunger. My green beans tasted like they were strained from the crab soup and the mashed potatoes were.. well.. not real potato. I get that the meal I chose isn't their bar food specialty, but if they can't make it taste good, why bother putting it on the menu at all? read more
