Very cute underestimated estate they have a full dining restaurant they also have an over-the-counter garden as well if you didn't want to dine in. They also have a small supermarket in there that serves products that they make out of the apples and other things that they grow on the farm but you can also buy some local goods there as well and you can view the pizzas being made in the stone oven. They offer a group tours twice a day, it's best that you book ahead. I took the tour.. the place is quite small I don't know if I necessarily would do the tour again I don't know if it really did that much enhancement to my experience. But the tour does come with three samples and you get a $5 voucher towards the restaurant if you choose to dine at the restaurant They have different options that you can try, cider flights both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. I chose alcohol and every single cider that I tried including the ones on the tour I absolutely love, they have a lower sugar content than traditional ciders that you buy at the LCBO which gives them a lighter refreshing feel. For their regular flavors I thought the draught cider was the best. And for the seasonal they had a sangria cider that was absolutely refreshing as well I tried the cambert cheese I believe.. it was that came with their gooseberry jelly oh my goodness that jelly was absolutely delicious and they do sell it in the market. I also tried their pizza and I thought the pizza was absolutely delicious I got the large which is a shareable I also noted that the staff seemed genuinely happy from the servers to the hostess to the tour guide. One of my favourite spots to go out for a picnic where I don't need to pack is Ta.. Da... ! Or for Apple picking, where we get to have trolly ride which drops you at the apple trees ( of your choice and are currently harvesting) and once you are done, either walk back to exit or take another ride. We always go for Honey Crisps. So now lets talk about the ciders.. so where to start.. peachy pear or lavender pear, rather winterberry lol I cant choose one as my favourite i'd rather buy the flight and bring cans home. They are refreshing and fruity but not sugary. Just perfect. To add to the pleasure I always grab the pizza slice or if I am hungry i just order my own , the fries are awesome too, i Enjoi my food while my toddler loves to run in the open space. I had the pleasure of coming here for a Yelp event a couple years ago and I've always been meaning to come back. Well, I finally did for their outdoor artisan Christmas market! Came around 10:30 on a chilly Saturday morning. They were sampling full cups of hot apple cider and some samples of their gingerbread cookie and I believe apple chai scones. I've neeever liked hot apple cider, to be fair I've only tried it once, but theirs was actually very good! It was a comforting drink in the cold windy weather. I'm not a fan of gingerbread either but you could really taste the ginger in these. It was very strong, which I like because it makes me think it's boosting my immune system lol. There were only about 10-12 vendors for the market and a little bon fire going in the middle for warmth. I bought some handmade soap from a vendor, as I love buying all natural bar soaps, as well as, supporting local! My bf and I also ended up buying a sausage and pepper pizza slice and splitting it, since it was huge and got some plain butter tarts and a chocolate chip cookie. I loved everything! The pizza slice was super cheesy and the sausage was very flavourful. You could tell it's quality. The pizza sauce is actually worth mentioning because it was really good. You can tell it's a homemade sauce. I really enjoyed it. The buttery pastry of the butter tarts were amazing. The exact centre of the butter tart where it's mostly filling was a littttle too sweet for me but all around, with those big chunks of crust with the filling....mmm mmmm mmm, so good. The chocolate chip cookie was the perfect texture too. Soft and very chewy. Very much how I make my own cookies. I love the feel and atmosphere of Spirit Tree. I'm defs going to come back to try the other pizza slices cuz they allll looked so good! read more

Stopped by on a hot day for lunch. They have tons of picnic tables and a shaded tent area (as well as a small stage for live music, but when I went there wasn't anything on). It's dog friendly and you just order at the counter and take a number, then your meal is brought to your table. So it is a more casual option compared to some of the winery restaurants in the area. I had a chicken salad which was filling and loaded with fresh ingredients. It was a bit pricey but I guess you are paying for the ambiance! I had a cider flight which was a nice way to sample their offerings. The store has a huge selection, more than I expected! We ordered a simple bread & dip plate as well as individual drinks. All was good but not great. Our server (Kaylie) was very nice albeit rather talkative. This is a good place to visit for lunch/drinks if you are up this way. It's small, but they do have a patio overlooking the vineyard. Nice! Inside, there is a nice bar and a few tables. It is a bit annoying that there are a lot of flies...but b/c they keep opening the door to go out to the patio. So just beware. The front of the restaurant is for baked goods; some food items (breads for example) and of course you can purchase their ciders. Definitely make reservations! We came here after a morning of site-seeing in the area. We decided to share a few items - a pizza, the mussels and frites (oh yum - the broth was delicious), the fried cauliflower (pass on these, it was a thick chickpea kind of dough and the cauliflower really wasn't cooked) and a salad. The mussels and frites were the star of lunch! You can get half a pound or a pound of them. The frites are serves with a sweet "ketchup" which is actually nice - not sickening sweet, but a nice mellow sweet. I'd order this again in a heartbeat Their ciders are really good as well. Not like your typical super sweet ciders, these are way better. One tastes like a dry Chardonnay (if sweet isn't your thing). Planned a day trip with my girlfriend and another couple to come here after I saw an advertisement and did some research of this place. So we decided to come here cause after seeing some of the pictures of how the cidery is, all of us are drawn to here. After a 40+ minutes drive from Toronto, we all gotten here. The scenery is absolutely amazing (and would be even better if it was warmer). However, the winter snow on the fields make the fields more festive and very picturesque. Once we arrived and parked. My girlfriend and I walked into the cidery. We saw the small store front with fridges on either side filled with yummy goods: bottles of cider, meats and other goods. But further into the store, we saw the infamous wall of bread and I was like drooling already. Furthermore, we turned around and saw the pastries! More drooling involved. One observation I made was how the cidery has a very rustic and barn-yard look and feel, which my girlfriend and I like and enjoy a lot. Anyhow, we approached the front desk to the bistro and indicated we have a reservation for 4. When we were seated at our table, I noticed the continuing decor of the rustic and barn-yard style decor. It is very comforting. Then we started looking at the menu and decide to get the food. I end up ordering the burger and my girlfriend ordered the tourtiere. The food came out a bit after. The burger was spot on: it was juicy, came out piping hot, and just the right size. There was the addition of a balsamic vingarette in the burger as a condiment. WOW! This was sooooo gooood as it adds a layer of flavour that is very different compare to other burgers I've tried. Plus the fries were soooo good! However, the most intriguing ingredient/food/condiment was the homemade apple cider ketchup. WOW! It's fresh, it's light and not not overpowering. I like the taste. My girlfriend loved her tourtiere also. It's packed with flavour and loads of ingredients (mushrooms, beef and onions). After we were done with our food. We went back into the store and picked up some goodies to bring back to our families. I got a growler of the alcoholic pear cider plus 6 bottles of non-alcoholic pear cider. Further, I got a loaf of the sourdough bread. I tasted the bread this morning and this was WOW! I love how everything is made in house and it is very fresh. Have visited here many times over the last 4 years, most often grabbing snacks and pies from their store and having a picnic near by or on their picnic tables. Their dry hopped cider, pizza, scones, bread and pies are among my personal faves. So why the 2 star review? My last visit was extremely disappointing, we came on a Friday hoping to grab lunch and then grab a blueberry pie, my moms fav. Got here at 11am and most of the patio tables were empty but the server said they were fully booked out, totally understand. I asked to order at the bar and the server said no problem, after chatting with my mom and husband i ask another server to order and she said because of how busy they are they are only serving on patio... ok... tables are still mostly empty... We then decide to grab some cheese, bread and snacks from the store, along with the pie we came up to get. I ask the gentleman for a blueberry pie and he starts to pack up a crumble and i asked if theres one thats not a crumble. He said yes theres one in the back and he'll pack it up and meet me at cash. We line up and pay and finally get to have our lunch. When we left at 1145, there were more people but still plently of tables open. Later when i go to warm up the pie i find a half crumble/half topped raspberry or some sort of mixed berry pie. Sadly my parents didnt like the sour pie full of berry seeds. The person who served us should have just told me sorry we dont have blueberry pies left, then we could have chosen something my parents would have liked. 1.5 hours of driving for a disappointing experience. I private messaged Spirit Tree on insta to let them know about the experience and while they've read it, not a single word response. Frustrating for sure. read more

I was expected to be WOW by Spirit Tree Cider during my most recent visit, but I was so impressed by their other produces. Fresh Baked Good from the Wood Fired Oven is just amazing: Artisan Bread, Tarts, Scones, Cookies and more. The ingredients used so fresh and seasonal. Highly recommend their Scones: the rhubarb scone was stuffed with fresh rhubarb with the sourness balanced with sprinkled coarse sugar. Jams with seasonal fruits. And even a house made Thai hot sauce with apple as one of the ingredients. Cider: Sweet or Sparkling. And don't forget to pick up some hard cider, as only their Spirit Tree Draught is available at LCBO. I really enjoyed visiting this Cidery. My friends and I came up yesterday and we had a wonderful time. We went on the cider tour. For $5.00 you go on a 45-1h tour and taste five ciders. The price is phenomenal. A wine tour costs much more. We then enjoyed some snacks in the restaurant since we were planning to go to a nice restaurant for dinner after visiting some other places in the area. They cook pizza at the Cidery and it smelled amazing. They have a stone fire oven that they use and it cooks the pizza in 90 seconds. The pizza smelled amazing. My friends really enjoyed it but I wasn't able to try it since they don't offer gluten free options. I really feel this establishment should make gluten free dough. How hard could it be? The menu was really fair. The prices were actually on the low side. I honestly don't know why people said the restaurant is over priced. However, the store is a little overpriced but that is typical when you visit such a place. The ciders were incredibly cheap for a pack of 4 ($12.00) but the specialty foods were on the high side. My friends and I had a really good time and I would highly recommend this tour to others. I've already told other friends and family to check it out. :) read more

Stumbled into this lovely piece of paradise purely by chance and with the great placement of signs on the road (very good investment!). It is usually closed on Mondays, but luckily it was open for the long weekend and offering everything I could hope for. There was a great selection of ciders, freshly baked bread from the wood fired oven and delicious share plates from the kitchen. I had a selection of the ciders, and my top two would be the Dog Days of Cider and the Pear (which wasn't on our drink menu but you should definitely ask for it). For food, you can't go wrong with the Ploughman's Lunch. It has the whole range of flavors from savoury to sweet and you spend the whole meal mixing and matching for your favourite perfect bite. It comes with house made ketchup and a delicious aged cheddar which I'm still thinking about. Will definitely be back to try all their other menu items on their 'regular' times. read more

Came back here and still 5 stars! Got to try the wood fired oven pizzas which were oh so delicious. There were 5 of us and we ordered: Short flight (draught cider, dry hopped, applelager) Long flight (winterbliss, pumpkin spice, hard pear, crabapple, reserve estate) Side salad Pickled vegetable plate Bread and butter plate Large pizza (with bacon, brussel sprouts, apple, etc.) Small pizza (with chicken, goat cheese, etc) This amount of food was perfect for us. The pizzas were awesome. The dough was perfect thickness, and not burnt. Loved the side salad too - dressing was great and it had apple slices and raisins in it. As for the ciders, my favourites were the winter bliss (very flavourful and unique), pumpkin spice (tastes exactly like it sounds), dry hopped (kind of sour, dif flavour), and the applelager (awesome apple flavour), and the hard pear. I liked the crabapple at first cause it had a nice hint of sourness, but when I tried it again shortly after, it tasted a bit too alcoholy. Food was overpriced for what you get at the Bistro. Foccaccia styled margherita pizza was not worth it. It was the size of 1 slice of regular pizza but on foccaccia bread and we didnt taste fresh basil at all. The foccaccia was not good. The Limousin burger was so dry and hard to swallow. Fries were extremely salty. The fried maple leaves were decent tasting but only 4 leaves for $6, so not worth it. Service is extremely slow and unorganized despite limited menu and small venue. We waited half an hour after appetizer was served for our mains to be served cold. Waiting list is useless, they let non-wait list people in before you. Bees everywhere on outside patio. Our experience at this Bistro for lunch was such a let down so we decided not to go for the 2 pm tour of the cidery estate. Also noticed a little detail that irked me, glasses were served to us stacked on each other upside down with the rim touching the bare table, not on napkins or coasters. What's the point in storing them properly but serving them with the rims exposed to a dirty surface? Would not recommend anyone going for the lunch or dinner at the bistro. Better to buy from shop and eat at outdoor picnic tables as you get the baked goods right away, hot and fresh, and can enjoy it without the wait. read more

Came here for lunch on Thanksgiving. It was very busy but nothing one could not handle. Had the limo burger and it wasn't bad, a bit too juicy for my liking. Very overpriced however for what you get ($24). I'm not a huge fan of ciders but the ones I tried from them weren't very good. Stuff in the store looked very nice but also a bit overpriced too. $3.50 for a tart? other places out there that have the same look and feel this place does and sells for better prices that are just as good. If you like the cider there just go to the store and buy it. It's literally double the price if you were to sit down and have it on the patio or restaurant. A few months ago, I came here for a YEE, but other friends said that they wanted to visit and I obliged! On a beautiful Fall Saturday, this place was quite busy, so keep that in mind. Arrive early to secure a spot to eat in the small restaurant. The patio was quite windy and the heat lamps didn't seem to do much. If it's windy, sit closer to the building. Contrary, the dining room seemed to be quite hot. During the last YEE, I picked up a bottle of 1L Winter Bliss. I brought it to a family event and it tasted skunky. I suspect that the cap wasn't on tight enough and that air went in and spoiled it. Cap came off without much effort with the bottle opener. So on this visit, I purchased a growler instead. I don't really trust their bottling. For a table of 3, we decided to order a Long Flight (w/ 5 samples) in order to help us with possibly ordering a glass with our lunch. Initial notes of most of the samples were a bit 'off', similar to my experience with the bottle I brought home last time. The Estate Reserve, which was the most expensive, at $6/glass, we saved until the end was bad. Tasted watery and I would have no clue, based on taste, that this would be the most expensive sample. I did like the floral notes for the Dry Hopped Ale, so again, I purchased a growler instead of an already bottled 6-pack. Our table ordered Turkey Pot Pie (very small portion, ~$15), Fish Stew (good chunks of salmon), & Duck Confit (nice drumstick, tender). I ordered the Turkey Pot Pie and thought that it was the smallest portion, worst value out of the 3 dishes ordered. I don't think I would've felt this way if there was at least more sauce. Server was very nice, friendly, & polite. However, after we paid, and had more questions, it took quite some time for us to get service at the bar. We were there, seated, waiting for someone to acknowledge us for quite some time. Servers seemed too busy &/or short staffed. Cookies were ok, tasted fresher the last time I was there. Pumpkin scone was a bit dry and tasteless. Breads looked good, but I haven't eaten the cornbread that I bought yet. Will update if growler is any better than already bottled product. Service would've been better if we were given more prompt service at the bar. read more

Surprised by how much I enjoyed this experience, considering going into it I had a negative feeling about cider. The place is really pretty but beware the patio attracts a lot of flying insects. Service was good but a little disorganized; check that you received what you actually ordered and check your bill for accuracy. We shared a flight of 5; we both liked the dry hopped the best. The pickle plate wasn't anything too exciting, almost disappointing, but the Spirittree pizza was amazing - strong fresh tomato flavour and crispy and hot! Always wanted to try their restaurant, and glad I did. We made reservations for a Saturday afternoon at 11:30, at the time the place wasn't busy, but filled up very fast. Looking at the chalk board menu made it a little difficult to make a selection. There is definitely a fine dining feel to their offerings, which may intimidate some people. I went with salad that combined poached eggs, bacon, on a bed of micro greens. My friend ordered the parsnip salad with poached pears. We shared a bread board with whipped butter. Service was fast and very friendly. There was no debating the freshness and flavours of our meals. The thick cut smoked bacon in my salad was beyond words, and my eggs were poached perfectly. I was excited to try this restaurant for the first time. The ambiance was great and the server friendly. First, when we arrived at 6:30, there was no mention of a time limit. Had that of been communicated to us, we would have tried to hurry things along. We sat down and ordered our drinks and an appetizer. They took a while to come but we were enjoying each others company so we let it slide. When the waitress reappeared, she took our order for pizzas. Again, this took an incredibly long time for our food to arrive. We finish our dinner and when the waitress reappeared we ordered tea/coffee and desert. 20 min later we are being told the next reservation is there and we need to leave. But we still haven't received our pie or drinks? We were handed the bills and told they would give the to us to go. We were told that there were picnic tables (unlit field beside the restaurant, in the pitch black we could sit at) We vacate our table with no drinks and no cutlery to eat the pies. It took around 10 min to get drinks and spoons. To say that I was extremely disappointed is an understatement. My friends were so excited to bring me there but all I felt was rushed and ignored. I understand they could have been understaffed, but then at least offer apologies or don't over reserve your tables if you are not capable. All you did was alienate customers that probably wont ever be back. Do better. read more

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Spirit Tree, it was not only a nice little delicious escape but it was quite an informative experience. Located in Caledon just outside of Toronto the drive alone is a breath of fresh air... Rolling green hills, farms and scattered quaint towns line the dirt roads on your way. Once you pull up you immediately see the beautiful apple fields and unique custom made structure. I conveniently arrived as the guide was explaining how it was made out of straw which provides excellent insulation apparently. Though somewhat on the small side the interior is quaint and rustic with home grown products adorning the shelves and a variety of stone oven baked delicacies. Take your time perusing all the delicious treats they have to offer... Cider is just the tip of this iceberg here. The staff truly makes the experience a memorable one, upbeat and incredibly knowledgable they guide you through the array of delightful menu items available and there is a variety so the help is welcome. The tour of the facility is one to remember with Tom the owner leading the way, I truly learned so much about cultivating prime apples and the labour intensive process involved with making their unique cider. I never knew how intricate and delicate the process is and will never look at cider in the same way again... The immense energy and passion it takes to make this cider is apparent in every sip. Spirit tree truly captures the spirit of this age old craft setting them apart from all the rest. I visited Spirit Tree for the first time today and I will definitely be coming back. The best way to describe it is like a cozy general food store that carries local-made preserves, drinks, cheeses and tableware as well as popular brands like Wildly Delicious. They also carry their own line of apple drinks which range from simple ciders to sparkling ciders. Towards the back of the store is a bakery with a wood-burning brick oven and they sell a variety of breads and pastries made in that oven. I bought a jug of cider, apply turnovers, a cheese bun and an a wild leek/asiago scone. All were good except for the scone. Maybe they are better fresh out of the oven? Spirit Tree also has a 'Tasting Room' which looks more like a sit-down cafe. I didn't try it today but would love to next time I go. read more

Visited on a perfect Saturday fall afternoon after driving around the Caledon. we have to wait for about 30 mins or so since we don't have a reservation and it was really busy. I enjoyed looking around the store while waiting. We ordered a flight and Apple Harvest Pizza which is really really good and so fresh (Apples, brussel sprouts, bacon, feta, pickled garlic scapes, caramelized onion sauce) The service is a little bit slow and we waited for like more than 30 mins for the pizza. Gorgeous location in Caledon. Can't wait to visit in the fall when the leaves are changing colours. The building is beautiful with a farm shop/bakery offering baked goods, yummy looking breads and locally produced food products. The bistro has a bar, several tables and an outdoor patio with a great view. I had the short flight (draught, pear and applelager) and the asparagus salad with goat cheese. Mr Leny had the non-alcoholic sparkling apple cider and the pulled pork poutine. We shared the warmed spiced nuts. The ciders were all delicious, as was the food. It's places like Spirit Tree Estate Cidery that truly make me take a step back sometimes and say "it's better in the 'burbs". But seriously, where in the city are you going to get this sort of experience? Sure you could open a cidery and import pulp and juice, have a bakery as well and pump out delicious fresh baked breads, wood-fired oven pizza and treats... but would you have the fresh air, the acres of apple orchards, the scenic views and the serenity - heck no! Spirit Tree is all those things and more, hands down. They've managed to create gourmet savoury and sweet delicacies (and due to their location in rural Caledon they maximize the Farm to Table elements better than most), while raising a self sustaining apple orchard from nothing, to be a huge producer of a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic craft ciders all while bringing to life the prestige, look and feel of a winery (but just for cider). Are you a bride to be/groom to be? Well you'd be remiss to not call them and book your big day here, seriously. It's not yet ready for weddings, but I understand they're presently working on that. Once it becomes an official offering, you can bet this spot will be booked from May-October every weekend. The picturesque scenery and ample parking is absolutely ideal for a close to home outdoor destination wedding - it's really amazing! While the weddings might not be ready quite yet, you can get a feel for the experience by venturing out to the cidery any weekend and having dinner either outside or indoors. They have 60+person tent on premise to my understanding that they set up for premium al fresco dining! We arrived at 3:45 on a Sunday and the kitchen was closed for the day. ok. So we grabbed some bread and cheese from the takeout deli and sat in the restaurant to taste our cider flight. Out of 5 ciders, my friend and I barely found 1 that we liked. The flavors were... awful. To me they tasted metallic. I like cider though! I would only recommend the ciders to enthusiasts who want dry, pungent, artisanal ciders. I wish anything about our experience merrier higher ratings, but even the service was subpart. the woman was reluctant to seat us, abrupt in quickly dropping items at our table without a second for us to clear space. Extremely chaotic. Nobody to and for help and lineup is over 45 minutes. Only 2 people cashing out and simply just awful. Don't come. You can get stuff just as nice elsewhere minus the chaos. read more
