Everything at Sanremo is AMAZING! It's like Italy in Canada with a NYC vibe. Everyone's chill in Toronto, but when shopping at Sanremo, the customers bring a bit of a sense of urgency, passion, desire for the absolute best, Italian food anywhere! It's a bakery, it's a deli, it's a full buffet of cooked food and salads to order from, It's a place that sells shelf stable treats & more classic Italian imports than any little bakery I've seen before. Where else can you choose from 100+ bottles of olive oil? The BEST ESPRESSO DRINKS EVER served by their baristas. Just stand in line to place your orders & they'll get you whatever your heart desires. We loved it!

Best Italian style cold cut sandwiches in the west end. Can't go wrong with any sandwich you order but their focaccia ones are my favorite. Pair them with their indulgent, creamy Cafe Crema that's a sweet, milky caffeine treat. They also have plenty baked goods but their donuts are what makes this Italian bakery super popular. San remo is truly a gem on the west end!

This my neighborhood bakery and it is divine. I have been going for years and thought it is worth a review. Always a line up here. My favorite is their breakfast sandwiches- to die for especially the croissant ones heated! Their breads are amazing as well and quite a variety. They have made many birthday cakes for me. If you haven't tried San Remo yet, it should be on your list. Yummy!

Visited SanRemo Bakery while in Toronto. The atmosphere was vibrant and buzzing, with a true neighborhood vibe that's been alive and well since 1969. The service was efficient and friendly, keeping things moving despite the constant crowds. Tried items from the hot table and deli counter -- classic Italian comfort food that's always a guaranteed treat, made with authentic flavors and care. Yes, the massive viral donuts are fun, but the real magic is the depth and consistency of the food. Overall, a great spot for locals and absolutely worth many return visits -- with no end in sight. Very busy shop with outside seating. Came on Saturday afternoon. There had deli counter on one side w, others side was sandwiches$ 12-14, hot food table, pastry and bread, donuts and cakes. All had different lines. It's very small space inside with the amount of people lining up. From review the donuts sell out fast and they have a very popular apple fritter that was out of this world. Crunchy exterior with caramelization inside was soft and moist with apples and cinnamon swirl. $2.99 each if you get a dozen it's a slight cheaper price. 6 items tax free. Custard cone didn't seem very crunchy/ fresh. Chocolate key lime tart was okay. Lemon meringue donut pretty good. Street parking free for 1 hour. There was a side street just beside the store which had angled parking. There is way too much to try at this little Jen that's been around since 1969. Prices very reasonable also. A bit of a wait for service but excellent otherwise. You can order online for instore pick up as well.

The donuts-deserts get all the attention but they also bring a bakery, hot table, deli, and coffee bar. The line up will remind you why it's good. Sidewalk service.

Friend took us here in the summer for brunch - never heard of it, but the place is super busy for a reason! Beautiful shop with outdoor patio; inside, all of the options are so tantalizing. Everything that we got was scrumptious! Sandwich, pizza, treats, etc. I want to take my family here! Worth the trip to Etobicoke even if it's a bit a ways away!

There was a big roast of porchetta sitting on the hot table, when I went back an hour later, they were all sliced up & displayed as sandwich form. It was a big sandwich and had a good amount of meat. For the size of sandwich price was resonable. Liked their fresh bread, chew of thick slices of pork, how they use good amount of herbs & spices, loved the spicy heat at the end. Paying $1.25 extra for generous amount of roasted red pepper worth it!

Always packed. Order in advance to avoid sold out donuts. Limited indoor/outdoor seating and street parking. Hot and cold sandwiches available. Snagged a veggie sandwich with a latte. It was so thick and filling - would come back for sure.

Mark McEwan was interviewed in Saturday's Toronto Star and said his favourite bakery is SanRemo in Mimico. I was in the area today so stopped in (I've never been before). It was a busy spot! I bought two lemon meringue donuts (there were lots of fun and interesting donut choices) and two whip cream horns for Gord and I. I had a donut and half a horn for lunch and both were very good! I'll be back!

This spot was highly recommended so I had to check it out for myself. Ambiance was super busy when I walked in, so I was excited to give it a try. I got the veal sandwich with onions and red peppers -- it was tasty, but each topping cost extra, which didn't feel fair considering how much the sandwich already was. Good food, but the extra charges kind of took away from the experience. I think California sandwiches does it better at this price. Considering the variety of choices at this spot, I may give it another chance. As of now, it feels overhyped.

Got gifted a box of different flavoured donuts. Donut Flavours: Blueberry Cream Cheese Wild Berry Filled Chocolate Boston Cream Red Velvet Whipped Cream Filled Nutella Filled Lemon Filled Cinnamon Bun These donuts were packed with flavour and they did not skimp out on the fillings! I really liked how soft and fluffy the donuts were when you bit into one. The presentation was really nice too. As this was a gift, I am not sure of the exact price, but their website lists all the prices and flavours.

My company got two kinds of donuts: the vanilla flavor and chocolate flavor. I had both of them. The filling inside was very tasty and delicious. The donut itself, I found it not very fluffy. The middle of the dough could be more fluffy. Overall, what I really liked about the donut was that it was not very sweet. Not sure is it because they made a very big batch and the quality isn't the same as if it was purchase from the store.

We had reservations and we were seated promptly. We shared the bruschetta. The tomatoes were very fresh and the focaccia bread was wonderful! For my entree I had capellini sardi, but I substituted penne for the capellini. The flavors in this pasta dish were wonderful! Everyone else enjoyed their dishes as well. Service was great. Drinks refilled as needed and we were checked on.

Went on a weekday for a work social and people were dressed casual to smart casual. Food: The food was a little disappointing, and was more of a modern interpretation of classic Italian food. The bruschetta had a bit too much tomato, and it was diced very finely and was on the watery side rather than the sweet or acidic side. The grilled calamari was interesting with the char, but the red bell pepper on the side tasted on the acidic/sour side, and could use more sweetness. The linguini was cooked well but didn't have the al dente texture of freshly made pasta and again, the tomato sauce tasted too watery and lacked the sweetness and tartness and there was no white wine taste. Service: The server was friendly and generally out of the way, but had trouble understanding us at times. There were a couple of us who were vegetarian and he had trouble hearing, and suggested pizzas with meat on them to the vegetarians, and so we had to repeat ourselves several times for him to understand. The food also came out quite slowly, especially the mains, and felt like we were sitting for a long time. They did clean the table off between courses, which was appreciated. Okay option if you're in the area, but had better food elsewhere.

We had the Truffled Mushroom Risotto (5/5) and the Prime Striploin (5/5), as well as tiramisu and creme brulee for dessert. Truffled Musshroom Risotto had shavings of the wild mushrooms. The dish had the rich aroma of the truffles which we delightfully indulged ourselves with. I highly recommend ordering this dish because no other place makes it quite like Via Allegro. Prime Striploin was cooked to perfection. It was so tender and juicy. We liked how they didn't have it with any gravy, letting their culinary technique with the steak speaks for itself. The potatoes were nice and crispy on the outside, yet smooth on the inside. The vegetables were cooked nicely. The desserts were satisfying, a great way to finish off our meals. I would come back again. Highly recommend this place for celebrating special occasions and/or to satisfy your cravings for Italian dishes. PS If you're into wine, they have the most extensive collection of wine which they won numerous awards for.

However, I got pulled into the planning details as a consultant, especially when it came down to finding a place to eat. I'm glad that they consulted me. I really should charge a fee... haha! My manager originally said that we should go to The Keg. I immediately shot that suggestion down because our vegetarians on our team would be miserable eating salad and bread. We needed a more inclusive eatery for lunch. We were doing pottery painting at Crock a Doodle. While one of my peers was setting things up with this store, the staffer suggested dining at 850 Degrees Pizzeria, which was across the street. I looked at the menu. The wood-fired pizzas looked incredible. It also had gluten-free and vegetarian options. Perfect! My friend and I had parked on a side street. Our manager parked behind us. We walked over to this eatery together. It's free parking on a side street. You can park on Lake Shore Boulevard, but it's paid parking until 6 pm. We were the first folks to arrive at noon. We had a reservation and got a long table for the ten of us. I had looked at the menu before coming here. I knew what pizza I'd be ordering. I also ordered an appetizer to share with others. I got the following items: - Shiny peach cider - Meatballs with garlic bread - Oh, Canada pizza My Shiny peach cider came out. I got a glass with ice. I poured my drink into the glass. The peach flavour was subtle. It tasted watered down. My friend to my right got the Shiny apple cider. She let me have a sip. It was yummy. I should have got that flavour instead. My meatballs with garlic bread came out next. OMG! This appetizer was incredible. The meatballs were beef. They were juicy. It was effortless cutting through them. You can also get vegan meatballs that are a mixture of chickpeas and mushrooms. The sauce was bright and fresh. The garlic bread was really pizza bread with garlic and butter on it. It was excellent dipping it into the sauce and eating it with the meatballs. I shared them with my manager and friend across from me. They loved them, too. Whenever I see a cracked egg on a pizza, I have to order it. So, I got the Oh, Canada. I love that each pizza has a Canadian-related backstory to its name. As a hockey fan, it was nice seeing Lord Stanley as a pizza. Oh, Canada had maple bacon, egg, fior di latte cheese, and tomato sauce. This pizza was excellent. The maple bacon was wonderful. It has a smokiness with the maple flavour. My egg was runny when I sliced through it. It was excellent with the tomato sauce. I highly recommend getting it if you love maple bacon and a runny egg. It felt like breakfast on a pizza. The crust had pillowy, chewy edges and was crispy underneath. Depending on the type of pizza, the base can be soggy because it's thin. I had a slice of my friend's Group of Seven pizza, which was a bit soggy. My Oh, Canada was fine. The Group of Seven pizza had goat cheese, tomatoes, spinach, roasted red peppers, olives, parmesan cheese, and fior di latte cheese. Maybe it got soggy because it had more cheese and toppings than my pizza. My manager got the Grand River pizza. It's essentially a wild, fancy version of a meat lover's pizza. It had spicy Calabrese salami, local ham, wild boar sausage, Niagara prosciutto, fior di latte cheese, and tomato sauce. I got to enjoy a slice. It had a spicy kick to it from the salami that was delightful. I loved the sausage that didn't taste gamey. The prosciutto looked like pretty ribbons on the pizza that were delicious, with a smokey subtle taste to them. Yum! You can get dairy-free cheese on request. Some of my colleagues opted for pasta. The beef ravioli and pappadelle di funghi looked fantastic. I need to return to get one or both of these dishes. They loved their food. I used the washroom before we left this eatery to do pottery painting. The women's washroom was clean. The downside was that the mirror was mounted rather low. I saw my midsection only through the mirror. If you're shorter, you'll be fine seeing your reflection without doing a squat. I thanked the man making all these pizzas in the kitchen. The pizzas were delicious. He appreciated the kind words. He worked so hard to get our pizzas to us in a timely manner and did it seamlessly. I had an excellent experience. You can order online and do takeout. I will need to remember to do that next time I'm in the office. I'll swing by and grab dinner here. (348)
