BOTTOM LINE: A must-try if you're looking for a listening bar / jazz kissa!…read more Listening bars don't really seem to be a thing in Toronto (the few that have, have mostly all shut down!), but this may be one of the closest things to it. With careful attention and detail made to their audio system including ample sound absorbing boards along the wall, this is a place where you'll be able to appreciate the clarity of whatever's playing. There menu, although relatively small, will satisfy most people who are looking for a small bite or even a full-on meal. I've been here a few times, and it does change - most recently, I ordered the TUNA TARTARE, SCALLOP CRUDO, DUCK CONFIT, and FUNGHI PASTA, and which were all very shareable. Overall, I felt like each dish was really done well and the ingredients were fresh - especially the duck, which remained nice and juicy! The staff were laid back and friendly. On Sunday nights, it's basically happy hour all night long! They make a delicious vermouth high ball that is (dangerously) smooth, so I'd definitely recommend that for a night cap!

We enjoyed a few glasses of nice red wine (a bit pricey) and a dessert called Pot De Creme Chocolate. Service was good, a bit slow but the place was packed. Highly recommend coming here especially if you enjoy Djs spinning music and a fun atmoshphere.

We ordered a couple of pizzas - Margherita and Fungi (Mushroom) - that were really good, made with fresh ingredients. The truffle oil on the Fungi pizza was almost intoxicating. Yummy! The Double Smashed Burger was topped with sautéed mushrooms, onions, bacon, cheese, and more. This was ordered with a Mixed Green Salad that was very attractive and colourful. Both were delicious! The Cubano Sandwich was made with smoked ham, pulled pork, bacon, Provolone cheese, pickles, and maple mustard. Great sandwich, full of flavour! Since this was the start of a road trip, we didn't indulge in any adult beverages. Maybe next time...

My friend and I went for dinner before line dancing on a Friday. We arrived at 5:30ish and were able to get a high top table on their patio. They don't take same day reservations & I recommend you make a reservation if you can, as it was already pretty busy at that time of the day. Our server, Alex, was a treat! She asked us if we've been there before, and when we said that it's our first time, she pretty much guaranteed that we would be back. She then proceeded to tell us about their apple orchard where they grow their own apples to make the ciders from. She took our drinks order and we told her that we're ready to order food as well. I ordered the bacon & pickle pizza. I've been wanting to try a pickle pizza forever, so I was happy to see one on the menu. My friend was contemplating on either the octopus starter with a side of sweet potato fries or the salmon entree. Alex had no doubt in her mind when she told my friend that the salmon is really good, so she chose that. Our drinks and food came quickly & everything not only looked good but tasted amazing too! My friend said the salmon was cooked to perfection. I loved my pizza. It was tasty and unique. I also ordered the pepperoni pizza add mushrooms to go for hubby. I got to eat some of that & it was really good as well. My hubby said he prefers the bacon & pickle one better. That is truly a high compliment as he usually doesn't like pizzas with a white sauce. The space at Slabtown has beautiful scenery. There is also an open, grassy massive space next to the patio where families can order food from their food truck & eat at a picnic bench, allowing their kids to run around freely. I can't wait to bring my hubby here! Highly recommended.

My friend hosted her movie premiere party here a few months ago for the Hamilton Fringe Festival and we had an absolute ball!! Hammerheads Fresh on Locke were on hand offering the most delicious poke bowls ever, paired with drinks and a movie it was an ideal experience. The service was super friendly all night and the guests had a great time indoors and outdoors. I've seen they have had several food guests from local restaurants which has been cool to see - and they are starting to extend their hours and are open till 8 or 9pm some nights. Check out their Instagram for the latest news. Love this new cidery that's bikeable from Locke Street and the surrounding neighborhoods. They have an outdoor patio AND indoor taproom with high ceiling, old school video games. Vibe is very laid-back, don't expect someone to come to your picnic table to take your order! You may hafta open your own patio umbrella, go in and order your own drinks. 12oz pours are $7.50, BUT...you can get 3 smaller samples for the same price. This isn't on the menu, I had to ask. It's in a very industrial area and somewhat hidden in a white building, on a side street. They do have some specific rules like minimum purchase is 4 cans and their hours of operation are quite limited. They seem to be only open 3 days/week 'til 6pm. Other than selling bags of chips, they don't serve food, so just come thirsty!

I was there for a goat yoga session held on the property rather than a wine tasting but I did get a can of their Shiny Apple Cider. It's a fermented alcoholic drink made from Ontario apples. I love apples but not apple juice. So I'm not their target market (i.e. I'm not much of an apple cider fan). The staff were friendly, the washrooms were clean and the parking lot was big.

It's first come first serve, but people come and go pretty quickly. They also have a lot of seating. Most people try a few flights and go to the next vineyard, so it's perfect for vineyard/brewery hopping. We got a few flights of beer and one flight of wine. We weren't paying attention and tried the ciders before the wine. That was a mistake. The ciders are quite sweet, so tasting the wines after didn't give us a fair taste. Out if the ciders, our favourites were the peach cider, mango pineapple cider and the pink lemonade cider. All of them were very sweet though. The salted caramel was the most unique flavour and was surprisingly pretty good as well. They did have charcuterie on the menu, however I wish they had some other small bites to accompany the tastings. All in all, super cute place to add to your vineyard hopping list!

They also have a small supermarket in there that serves products that they make out of the apples and other things that they grow on the farm but you can also buy some local goods there as well and you can view the pizzas being made in the stone oven. They offer a group tours twice a day, it's best that you book ahead. I took the tour.. the place is quite small I don't know if I necessarily would do the tour again I don't know if it really did that much enhancement to my experience. But the tour does come with three samples and you get a $5 voucher towards the restaurant if you choose to dine at the restaurant They have different options that you can try, cider flights both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. I chose alcohol and every single cider that I tried including the ones on the tour I absolutely love, they have a lower sugar content than traditional ciders that you buy at the LCBO which gives them a lighter refreshing feel. For their regular flavors I thought the draught cider was the best. And for the seasonal they had a sangria cider that was absolutely refreshing as well I tried the cambert cheese I believe.. it was that came with their gooseberry jelly oh my goodness that jelly was absolutely delicious and they do sell it in the market. I also tried their pizza and I thought the pizza was absolutely delicious I got the large which is a shareable I also noted that the staff seemed genuinely happy from the servers to the hostess to the tour guide. In 2025 a lot of places you go it feels like people do not want to be at their place of work so that was nice to experience.
