Best Beer in Canada! Hands down! I'm from the west coast and was missing a WC iPA was told about this gem from the bartender at North Mavericks (also solid) and felt right at home with the ambience and fresh hop taste on some really good beers!

Cute brewery that makes great local sours! If you don't want to sit in to drink, you can also purchase their brews in their shop. We came here in the summer and the wait time was pretty long for a weekday afternoon. They have fun hipster decor to match their hipster servers and hipster drink names. We came here for their sours, which is my preference over beer. They have a wide variety of sour variations, so you're sure to find something you like! Their food selection also isn't bad either. They have quite a few tasty options, but even their simple mixed nuts is delicious! Definitely recommend coming here for a few drinks!

    The outside of the building looks like an inconspicuous warehouse with a dirt parking lot. There are a few mismatched tables inside with a white picket fence separating the patron area from the brewery. There were 4 beers on tap during my visit, 2 of which were sours. The only food they have was kettle brand potato chips. I tried the Jutsu pale ale 12oz for $5. It was good and refreshing. ....| \ _ , , , - - , , _ , .../ , ` . - ' ` ' . _ \ - ; ; ; , _ ..| , a - ) ) _ . ; . ( ` - ` - ' - ' ' - - - ' ' ( _ / . _ ) - ' ( _ \ _ )

The motherland of Bellwoods Brewery ... this is the true brewing facility of Bellwoods. Though they still brew on Ossington, that's where they do more of their small batches and experimental ones. I was told the Hafis facility is the ones to brew their ever popular and great ones that never leave their menu. The spot is in the industrial wasteland and at first you wonder... well where is it. It's actually interesting because it's the only one that looks inviting as it had a plant or at least a clean facade. The door was wide open (in the summer) to welcome you in. At first it looks like only a fridge spot for take out but you quickly realize there are tables set up where you can sit and enjoy the many interesting ones on tap. They do have a good rotation going and also had a rare one available. Prices are very reasonable for a great craft brew. I can honestly say it has me surprised each time I look... sure they have some at $15 for 750 ml but when you hear the work effort to do them, you can appreciate it ESPECIALLY being blown away by the flavour. If you're keen on eyeing the facility, it's an open space where you can peer around and be blown away at how gorgeous their whole process is. I could take pictures a long time here. Anyhow... service is awesome. SUPER knowledgeable about all their beers and ready to help find the right one for you. There is a lot of choice in the fridges so it's not always obvious on which ones you might like. They do have most on tap so you can try a tiny bit before deciding. Jelly King - I think this might be one of the better sour IPAs in Toronto. Though they have a seasonal fruit version once in a while, the staple one is just an amazing citrus burst over a minimally bitter IPA. There's no funkiness ... just super easy to drink any time and really the perfect patio beer. Before finding Jelly King, I wasn't always a fan of beer but I've come to love this one for the flavour. 4.5/5 Blueberry something - I forgot to take a picture of the label... silly me. It's a rare one that the decided to brew and it's a gorgeous ruby shade in the glass. I was quite blown away at the colour and the flavour was something I've never had before. It's clearly a beer and not a cider but it had this interesting berry note to it... not sweet. More tart, like a first in season tart blueberry. I dont know if I could drink an entire glass but I really enjoyed how they toyed and experimented to get a very unique flavour. 4/5 Seeing how my hour visit here had at least 20 people come in and out to buy cases of their beers, I dont think this place is hidden or unknown. Clearly Toronto knows about it and if you live close, there's zero reason to not come here once... if not often instead of the Beer Store. Definitely one of the friendly bunch of staff to make you enjoy Toronto craft beer.

Love the beer, stop here all the time, service is fine they are not overly friendly and have never offered anything for free which is a little disappointing I suppose. Most breweries enthusiastically offer you to try things where here they definitely want you to BUY things Still, whatever, top 3 in Canada for me

So, anyone looking at this venue. This is the brewery on Hafis Road, not the brewery and restaurant on Ossington! This is a slightly more driver friendly location, and an experience I'm used to from plenty of small breweries in the US. It's located in an industrial neighborhood, tucked into a corner, sort of off the beaten path. When we were there, it was snowing a bit, which made it pretty quiet. They have a wall of coolers with bottles of what's currently available, as well as a bar area with what's currently on tap. They have a nice, non-fancy setup of tables with the brewery operation in the background. the decor is mostly the art that's on the bottles, and you can also purchase bottle art prints. It's a great atmosphere, much more chill than at Ossignton. There were people there to just have a couple of pints and to hang out (like us,) and people coming in and out to buy packs of bottles. We had a nice time enjoying their excellent beer, and chatting with one of the brewers, who was really friendly, and asked us for any recommendations for the next time he was down in Connecticut. A+ location, and a must visit if you're a serious beer enthusiast.

This is a little northeast of downtown and easier to get to than the other with a parking lot to boot. You come here to drink and buy beer and that's it. The other location has the food. They don't have every offering on tap, but don't be greedy. It's a nice, out of the way place to hang out and drink. Then comb through their fridges and pick out some grog. Their IPAs are the way to go, Goblin Sauce, especially.

    Shawna D.

Lots of options for bottles and cans! There was a smaller selection on draft of four beers but I liked the 3 of them that I tried! All were $5. Unfortunately there was no options for food... but cool brewery. A bit in the middle of no where.

I always sought out breweries to visit wherever I traveled, and they were the lucky winner on my brewery exploration. Old Flame Brewing Co. was founded by Jack Doake in 2013 and named after its flagship Port Perry location, a historic building that experienced two previous fires. Doake, a serial entrepreneur, was inspired by dissatisfaction with macro lagers and a desire to brew quality traditional German lagers, a focus that led to multiple awards, including being recognized as the most awarded craft lager brewery in Canada. The brewery has been known for its commitment to preserving the history of its buildings while brewing high-quality lagers. They also had a location in a historic fire hall in Newmarket and in Toronto's Distillery District. Did their flame burn bright for this not-so-old brewery!? PURCHASE(S) Old Flame Brewing Co. OVERALL Old Flame Brewing Co. was a nice introduction to the Toronto beer scene, and I would definitely return. The beers were tasty albeit limited in availability (ten on this visit) and variety (no IPAs). The prices were very comparable, they had minimal snacks and onsite food (I always loved something salty to munch on while I drank beer), and they allowed outside food. The service was easy and straightforward, and at least pets were allowed on the outdoor patio. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $40.00CAD BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice...
