After visiting St. Lawrence Market for lunch, we walked to the Distillery District, which is a cute & historic pedestrian area with shops, restaurants, bars, etc. We decided to stop in Old Flame Brewing as there was a sign saying award winning and was only $5 CAN, which to me coming from the US is under $4 US. Neither of us are major drinkers. I'm not much of a beer person, and I do like some of the Canadian beers like Molson. The bartender was nice. We talked about visiting from US, etc. Somehow, we got onto the topic of movies, and he told us about the strong movie industry in Toronto. As I mentioned, not a big drinker, so we just split the beer. We sat outside on a wood park bench/table on the nice, warm day. I know it's award-winning beer, and I'm sure for some that are beer connoisseur, it's a great beer, but for me, I wasn't a big fan. I enjoyed winery & whiskey I had in Ontario more so. And I enjoyed getting a Molson on tap the next day more. But if you're in Toronto, enjoy beer in general, give this place a try. Bartender was nice, which is always good.

While we were there I tried Rookie Card Pale Ale for the first time and immediately loved it. Same with Patty O' Beer Irish Red Ale; both fantastic additions to the list of GLB beers I enjoy. Service was great too. The bartender even gave us a couple samples before we picked our pint, which is always appreciated when you're deciding between a few options. Overall, a great experience for fans of craft beer and definitely worth stopping by if you enjoy GLB like I do. Only downfall was I found the pints to be pretty pricey. Foodwise however quite a few of us were let down. The beer menu of course is extensive! We split a pizza and it was super oily and lacking flavor-- the pizza pan was coated in oil at the bottom. Chicken wings were also apparently dissatisfactory, but garlic knots and burger had rave reviews! So, perhaps a better spot for drinks than a meal!

We are talking three stories and plenty of TVs to watch sports. Our waitress was very friendly, even when we asked many questions because we were visiting and wanted the best experience from the menu. The food was def tasty because we finished all six dishes. The drink was really good and I enjoyed it immensely but the flamm was just okay. Not a lot of toppings as pictured on the menu haha. There is a bit of a hike to the bathroom but it's manageable. Unfortunately because the windows to the patio was opened, there was a lot of smoke (weed/vaping) and random perfume and cologne scents wafting in. Just beware.

Perfect date for you and your pup!…read more Was so excited to come here because who doesn't love dogs? It's a local brewery where dogs are welcome! Came here for a dog pawty and it did not disappoint! I'm not huge of a beer drinker myself but was glad to find that they had kombucha on tap and it was blue in colour! How exciting. The kombucha was great! Had a few sips of beer which was also pretty good - especially the sour! The dogs here are of course the highlight of this brewery. There were so many dogs here with friendly owners. A lot of them allowed me to pet their dog - a double win! If you're feeling blue or looking for a cool hangout spot, make sure to check out Black Lab Brewing. It'll sure be the highlight of your day.
