Stopped in for a quick snack after going to the aquarium. Their poutine was great for sharing! The gravy was light yet flavorful. The cheese curds were a bit melted yet chewy. The fries were perfectly crisped. Loved every bite!

Headed into Toronto early for diner. Came out of the parking lot and noticed this brewery. We knew we wanted to get a drink before dinner so this was perfect! You order at the bar and then seat yourself. We decided to sit inside. I got a Lug Lite and my boyfriend tried a few: SW unfiltered, a Beaus Brewing Juicy AF and a hazy IPA. He enjoyed them all! It's an awesome space in an old railroad roundhouse. I love when people use a building already there to keep the history!! Kenny was our bartender and he was great-friendly and funny!

Great beer. That's the most important thing. Honestly a pretty solid all around experience-- beer/brewery vibe is great, place had a lot of natural light and smelled good. Vegetarian food is snacky stuff only-- sandwich had meat. Pretzel had yellow mustard only no beer cheese :( but was delicious and hot! Pickled egg was nice too. They even have merch and tours!

(Dined/Drank 09/03/25 WE @ 1:00pm): The weather was steaming, so I desperately needed to wet my whistle with a cold brew! Steam Whistle Brewing was the second brewery on this Toronto trip. Steam Whistle was a beer dreamed up in 1998 by three friends during a canoe trip in Ontario's beautiful heartland. Greg Taylor, Cam Heaps, and Greg Cromwell had been colleagues at one of Canada's premiere microbreweries in the late 1980's and 1990's, before it was bought out by a national brewer and closed down, like so many of Ontario's independent breweries. As they sat around the campfire, the self-named "Three Fired Guys" dreamed of running their own brewery one day - one that would make beer to compete with the best in the world. Born at the Roundhouse, home of the steam locomotives that connected Canada, Steam Whistle honored an era of quality craftsmanship, using four all-natural ingredients to brew Canada's Pilsner. At Steam Whistle Brewing, they lived by their motto: "Do one thing really, really well." This singular focus meant they had the time and opportunity to air for perfection. Was this brewery only blowing steam about their beer, or was I whistlin' Dixie!? PURCHASE(S) Steam Whistle Brewing Unfiltered Pilsner Beer 5.0% ABV 20floz Draft ($9.95CAD): Golden hazy amber color, light bread hoppy malty aroma, low body, light fruity hoppy malty flavor, clean smooth finish, and light bread hoppy malty aftertaste. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=_jHLdaZ1fpI9BcS43v_sag Fish & Chips ($24.95CAD): A crunchy seasoned thick piece of fish that released steam when you split it open, it was juicy, soft, and didn't need the lemon or tartar sauce. The spud sticks were plentiful, crispy, and also nicely seasoned. Lastly, the coleslaw had a lovely dill peppery taste I actually wanted more! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=verV6uhEUdlrrlerk76Hng Steam Whistle Brewing Beau's Wonder Crush Hazy IPA Beer 5.0% ABV 20floz Draft ($9.50CAD): Bright hazy amber color, citrusy hoppy tropical aroma, low body, citrusy hoppy tropical flavor, creamy finish, and slight bitter citrusy hoppy tropical aftertaste. This was my favorite of the two. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=PPE0VoocvfYVBjbScQn0YA SERVICE I initially went to the taproom when a bubbly young female directed me to the kitchen since I wanted a full meal with my beers. Next, I was happily greeted by a young hostess who led me inside to the countertop bar, where I finally settled with a friendly young male who would also be my server. My beer orders arrived immediately, my food took less than ten minutes, and my water glass was continuously filled. Everything was easy and straightforward - cheers! PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance): It was about a 25-minute walk from TIFF Lightbox. Otherwise, there appeared to be an onsite lot in the back, various nearby lots and streets to park, numerous public transportation options, and rideshares - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A large layout consisted of a separate taproom in the front, outdoor patio space that curled around from the taproom and extended to in front of the kitchen area, and then the roomy kitchen/dining room with many tables and bar seating. Minimal decorations for a clean appearance. You had awesome views https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=EOi9Cnm1qHFTRg28uvMuUQ of the CN Tower from various points. Plenty of natural lighting entered through the many windows and front outdoor patio, respectively, while a ton of electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were TVs in every section of the place while indie music played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=On-3z3AbBIw-_Budz8-EXQ ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL It was a relaxing time at Steam Whistle Brewing and may return. The location was beautiful, the food was yummy, the service was easy and friendly, and I believed they allowed pets on the outdoor patio. However, I was very disappointed by the limited availability of their own beers (six on this visit) and variety (all light beers) https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=g0YBB2HXR1wxooPHFe4N_g albeit they had other drink options. The prices were very comparable and the food menu https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=jCyuuCtW0ipjcd5cnyjZCg was varied enough. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $50.00CAD BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... The place is located across from the Roger's Centre in what used to be the train yard. It is clean but small- no it's bigger once they open the back room. We went for a drink and found that the service is the bartender, you order from him and pick up from him. We just ordered drinks and a pretzel- waiting for the World Series game. It's a nice place to visit and part of the downtown area. A must see!

LOVED this spot the second we got there! We went before a Blue Jays game and it was the perfect spot. They were throwing a tailgate this specific day and had a grill outside with smash burgers and sides, vendors inside giving samples, and just an all around good atmosphere. Service inside was quick as we only went to the bar to grab beers (they have full service sit down dining too around back) and they had a self serve water station that I always appreciate at breweries. Staff was friendly, Pilsner was SO tasty, and so many seating options. Totally check them out!!

Always cool to hangout before /after Jays game. It's summertime now, so they have not only patio space but also you can use Roundhouse park to hangout by the old trains displayed.

Food: 9/10 Service: 8/10 Ambiance: 9/10 First time in Toronto, we were walking around all day & stubbled upon this place. There's 2 rooms, one that's just the beer & snacks, the other is the actual restaurant so be sure to ask because we got confused We did not try all the beers but I had a Lemon shady, it was quite refreshing. Can't wait to be back in Toronto and explore more!

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Sat at the bar. Was given a menu by the customer next to me, but had it online anyways. When the bartender came by, she poured me a glass of water. I ordered the Cesar salad and the mussels. Both were so good! The salad was a bit overdressed. Needed a separate bowl for my mussel shells- used the plate underneath the bowl which overflowed and dumped on the floor when the server cleared my plates. I wish they would do beer flights or smaller beers. While I enjoyed my beer, I did not have enough time to finish it. I also would have enjoyed trying more than one beer. You get so full after just one beer- it's not possible to have more than one for a lunch break. Enjoyed my lunch, would eat here again.

Seared Asparagus & Arctic Char with Tabbouleh

Steam Whistle Brewing is made up of different sections: Tap Room, Kitchen (the restaurant), Tailgate (sports bar), and private party rooms. The location makes it ideal, as it's very close to all the major tourist hotspots (CN Tower, Ripley's Aquarium, Rogers Centre) and the financial district. They have a nice patio that's open in the summer, overlooking Roundhouse Park, Toronto Railyway Museum, and CN Tower. We dined at the restaurant and the menu is eclectic, drawing inspirations from different parts of the globe (offering items such as shakshouka, tabbouleh, and plant-based banh mi). Food is pretty good, with something for everyone. I had the Arctic Char with Tabbouleh, with a side of Seared Asparagus with Romesco Sauce. I liked how the asparagus was still somewhat crisp and not overcooked. Just don't expect the tabbouleh to be authentic like the one you'd get at Middle Eastern restaurants... they used couscous instead of bulgur, and no (or very little) parsley. It was still pretty good and healthy-tasting. Service is great - friendly, fast, and efficient. The winner here is the ambience - fun, casual, relaxed atmosphere with great views of the iconic Toronto attractions around you.

Legit the best fish and chips I've ever had - anywhere! The fish was so flaky and moist, the breading with crispy and flavorful, the tartar sauce is made in house, and the fries are hand cut and so crispy! The is the stuff last meals are made of. Oh and the coleslaw! I loved the ultra thin cabbage cuts and the zingy sauce. We stopped in on a whim after visiting the CN Tower and I'm so glad we did! Beer was very good too. I enjoyed the unfiltered Pilsner. It is a bit loud and tables are cozy - that's to be expected for a brewery! Highly recommend!!

Doake, a serial entrepreneur, was inspired by dissatisfaction with macro lagers and a desire to brew quality traditional German lagers, a focus that led to multiple awards, including being recognized as the most awarded craft lager brewery in Canada. The treatment I received was awesome - cheers! PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance): I was in the area all day for the start of the Toronto International Film Festival, so I simply walked. Otherwise, there were spots along the many main and surrounding streets, some nearby structures, numerous public transportation options, and rideshares - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A cavernous interior with a main bar and stools, plus a ton of places to sit. I never made it outside where apparently there was a beer garden. Minimal natural lighting inside and of course a ton outside while electric ceiling lights filled in both areas. There were several muted TVs inside indie rock music played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=59IcCRZFC2TVdN5G8QmwjA ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Mascot Brewery was the best! The beers, food, prices, and service were cracking! I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $120.00CAD BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice...AMEX! 5.0 STARS

Left Field's second location in Liberty Village is a very welcome improvement to their original…read morelocation in Leslieville, which I've been a patron of since 2013 when they opened. The new location has two levels, a beautiful open concept floor plan and a large outdoor patio. We walked in on Saturday (World Series Game 2) and were seated immediately. They had another weekly event going on but that didn't detract from speed and service. The beers are fantastic, with some staples still on the menu from 2013! The Eephus, Wrigley, and Greenwood are original and exactly as I remember, but Ice Cold Beer, Tarps Off, and Oppo were delicious too! Get a flight, take in the community spirit and enjoy some baseball themed beers! Go Blue Jays

Gord & I had supper last evening with friends. It's been a while since we've all gotten together…read moreand it was nice to catch up. Gord and I had Pep & Cheese pizzas (10" New York style pizza, pizza sauce, Ezzo pepperoni, mozzarella, oregano and Grana Padano cheese) and we both took half of our pizzas home for lunch tomorrow. Rosemary had Mac and Cheese (creamy mac and cheese made with our beer and cheddar sauce, topped with melted cheese, shaved scallions) and Chicken Tenders - Kids Combo (3 kid-sized buttermilk marinated, panko-breaded chicken tenders; served with thick cut french fries, plum sauce and ketchup) ... the mac and cheese looked delish and she took half home but the chicken tenders were overcooked. Kevin had a Chicken Clubhouse Sandwich and fries (classic clubhouse sandwich served on 3 pieces of toasted white bread, stacked with grilled chicken breast, shredded lettuce, tomato, Swiss cheese, bacon, guacamole and chipotle aioli spread). Alfred had a Margherita pizza (10" New York style pizza, pizza sauce, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil and Grana Padano cheese). Christine had a Chicken Caesar Wrap (grilled chicken breast, romaine, parmesan, caesar dressing, wrapped in a 12" flour tortilla) and took half home. Ocean was our server. She was friendly and took good care of us. For some reason, the 3 pizzas came out about 15 minutes after the other meals so they were almost finished by the time we started.
