    Patio with live music
    Alekhya M.

Two stars: one for the beer and one for the live music. Knocked off three stars because: 1. The seating staff was rude. There were lots of empty tables and we asked to be seated at a specific table and she seated us elsewhere. We asked our waitress if we could sit at the table of our choice and she immediately obliged. The seating staff lady came back and asked if we asked our waitress like we were kids or something and that we're not breaking the rules. Please train your staff to not treat guests this way! 2. Painfully slow service: it took time to get our beers. When we finished our beers, our food arrived. It took more than 45 min to get our semi cooked veggie burger. Have a proper kitchen and not one chef cooking when you know there are lots of people coming to eat here as well. 3. We were billed incorrectly. I opted for email receipt but that didn't arrive in time. Since I was suspicious that I overpaid, I asked for a paper receipt. The waiter printed out a paper receipt which was also wrong one. He and I were both jaded and he eventually gave me back $2 that I overpaid. When I came back home and did the math, I realized the bill was still off by $4. So, I could've got myself another another 4oz beer with that. Overall, I'm disappointed and unhappy.

    Oysters and beer!

The brewery is established now and has a bar where the brewery can be observed from a well laid out area reminiscent of a ship. There is a large retail area that is well appointed. The range of beers is broad and exciting with types and flavours for all tastes. A patio / lawn area is at the front.

Friendly staff, small bar in front. Walk through the small brewery to get into the venue are for live music, karaoke, sports on tv and good food. Plenty of seating. Also has a large patio area out front for warmer days/nights. Good beer selection. They also have a small beer store next to the bar.

We drove past on Lakeshore drive. The place looked intriguing with the picnic tables and patio lights, so we decided to stop in. Glad we did! Cam was the host and he was very courteous and attentive. The Lobster PoBoy sandwich was really good and reasonably priced. The beers were also good. We enjoyed and would like to come back time permitting as we are only here for 3 more days. I would recommend this place for sure.

Beer, made with great detail to make each blend perfect. So many to choose from, if you like hardcore IPA, or a light pilsner, or some fruity concoction, StoneHooker's got you. Patio. BBQ seems to be daily now starting about noon. Live music sometimes. Dog friendly. Solid. Come.

Right beside Wine Butler in Lakeview.

Mississauga's second brewery, woohoo! Hopefully, it's just the beginning of the trend. Located in the same strip as Wine Butler - you've been here IF you're into wine and a bargain hunter - in Lakeview, this place just opened up! Taproom resembles the inside of a ship and is on the smaller side, maybe about 20 seats. In comparison, the rest of the facility seems pretty large and it includes an office area, fridges where cans are sold. There's no official "flight" system, you just select the size/number of beers you want. Out of the 2 I ordered, I really liked Broad Reach even though it's an IPA. It's not overpowering and there are fruitier notes in it! Prices for pours DO NOT include tax...which isn't the norm with other breweries that I've been to. Good stop to add if you're down by the Lakefront Promenade/Dairy Cream area!

Service was appalling! We waited long for everything and had to keep reminding them of what we were missing. Really badly organized.

    Review Highlights - Stonehooker Brewing

Me and my husband tried the plank and thought the beer was great compared to other breweries we've tried, broad reach was our favourite !

Started with ice cold wine and beer. Delish. Daughter and mom each ordered the bruschetta flatbread. Mom loved it, daughter hated it. Rightly claimed you should not decorate it with ranch dressing. I ordered the turkey avocado club. Liked it. Had lettuce, tomatoes, a slice of Kraft processed singles, pickled onions, chipotle mayo. What it promised and was unfortunately missing was the avocado, which was supposed to come as guacamole. Would have been nice to have it and I probably should have said something. Next time. Came with fries which were excellent. If I'm ever in the area again, will be back.

While I wouldn't expect a pub to have great salads, I was quite pleased with the quality and portion size of their Cobb Salad. I ordered it without any modifications, but in retrospect I think it might have been better if I switched the blue cheese (original) for feta cheese - I'm biased though. The day after, I ended up ordering their Caesar Salad over the phone, for takeout. It was great too, although the dressing could have a bit more garlic - I'm also biased on this topic :) Service was quite fast and all servers were courteous, and wearing masks. The pub also offers a lesser known, and therefore quiet back patio with a few tables and large umbrellas. And I'm not talking about the one you see right when you walk out the back door. There is another one behind that. I only found out about it when I left, but it was quite welcoming and I will consider going again to sit at the (second) back patio!

Have to admit my first couple trips here were not great... it was a lot rougher place back pre-Covid and it was not uncommon for fights to break out... along with some unsavoury characters hanging out by the pool table. Fast forward to 2024 and it's a much different picture. Still very much a locals bar, but it's become a friendly regular hangout for me when in the area. Food (4/5) - I've had multiple items on the menu and tend to try the daily specials which are usually pretty good. The wings are quite good too... meaty and cooked the way you want them... especially salt and pepper. Service (4.75/5) - I get the sense this has improved significantly over time but the current dynamic duo of Ellena and Yasmin do a great job of managing the bar and floor most nights. Food orders come out quickly and they are always attentive and friendly. Ellena is the sole reason I gave this place a second chance after having a couple bad first experiences. Atmosphere (4/5) - it's your typical locals bar with a central bar, lots of TVs and the requisite pool table. SJ is unique in that they have live bands 3-4 nights a week with no cover most nights. Crowds are muted Monday to Wednesday... and then fills up on Thursdays through Sunday. After coming here a few times I had locals coming up to me saying hi and getting to know you. Not at all like those pre 2020 days. Overall (4.25/5) - I think this place got a bad rap before and probably deservedly. This is a different bar now and I would encourage people to check it out.

A sweet family-owned restaurant with parking and two floors!…read more This was such a good Winterlicious find; the portions were generous and everyone left happy. The dinner cost $45. Standout dishes: 1) Pollo Marsala (Boneless chicken scallopine, mixed mushroom & marsala wine sauce, roasted potato, broccolini) and 2) Nonna's Meatballs Slow tomato sugo, braised beef & pork meatballs, roasted garlic bread. There were only two things that marred our experience: the bread that came with the winter caprese salad was so hard; we wondered if, perhaps, it was leftover from lunch. In addition, we came for an early dinner, and the staff had just finished cleaning, but the smell of chemicals was quite strong. We realize that they can't crack open a window, but it was definitely off-putting at first. However, we would definitely recommend this place. On a chilly Saturday night, it was so full and they even had a musician playing the guitar and the accordion. Not a common sight in an Italian restaurant in TO.

What really bothered me was the mediocre food and really bad communication. I was in touch with Mario about prix fixe menu for my group. It's $55 per person for a three course menu and the portions were tiny for the money. Everything lacked seasoning and the salad was not restaurant quality. Gnocchi for main course was also a small portion, the tomato sauce lacked flavor. The saving grace was tiramisu but again it was a tiny portion. Seriously, why did this have to cost $55. The worst was that even though the menu said bread and butter included, they didn't serve until we asked them and showed the online menu. Then they brought out bread which honestly shouldn't even cost them much. The part that bothered me is that they charged $20 for water. For a second, it felt like I was in Europe, not Canada. Before I made it here, I asked Mario if he could include soft drinks and water on the house because we were mostly doing veggie options. He said he will let me know what he can do by running numbers but he never got back. And then finally charged me for water as well as soft drinks. Overall, it was not a satisfying experience. Our main course was out super late and our waiter was apologetic. The bill took a long time to come as well. I wouldn't recommend this place as there was no value to customer! So much needs to be improved.
