Dined here on a whim visiting Woodfield mall. It's tucked away in the corner off the mall circle entrance, there is plenty of free parking and a ramp for wheelchair access. Kim was our server and I loved how kind & attentive she was. She called us "my loves" and it felt like she was our mama bear feeding us hehe. I got the Parmesan crusted filet and Brussels sprouts on the side. I'm craving it again looking at the pictures! Delayed on this review, but as a Texan visiting Ontario, it is the funniest thing to go to Texas themed restaurants. The time that we had gone it was fairly slow, so attention was on us and I never once felt forgotten about by the server. She was really sweet! I had been to another Texas themed restaurant the day prior, so in comparison, Longhorn was way better as far as quality goes. I got the pulled pork sandwich, and it was tender and saucy enough. My partner at the time ordered the chimichanga, he said it was really good. And our friend ordered the fajitas. I feel like it was missing something visually, but I'm expecting too much being from Texas. All in all, I enjoyed this place! read more

Felt like a little Tex-mex on a Saturday. Tucked into a strip mall but easily identifiable. Place was really quiet, only a few tables of people and no music playing. Lots of TVs showing sports etc. Service was great - thanks Tess. Helpful with suggestions, quick on drinks and takeout containers for leftovers. Very friendly. Food was pretty good. Loaded potato skins were actually fresh potato's quartered and topped. Nice! Not some frozen crap you often find. We had fajitas, chimichangas and quesadillas. Maybe a bit too much sauce on the chimichanga but otherwise everything was tasty, served hot and had lots of accompaniment (sour cream etc). They don't skimp on portion size. THEN to top it off..I selected a 1/2 order of potato skins as my side... but the potato skins came drowning in chili, I'm not a fan of red meat nor have I ever been served potatoe skins smothered in chili!!! Texas Longhorn has served the local Mississauga for its Tex-Mex food and drinks. It has been known for their 33 oz. Ribeye Challenge where your picture will be placed on the wall of fame if you actually finish. I swung by Texas Longhorn to sample their steaks with a 10 oz. NY Striploin with Loaded Baked Potato and Caesar Salad. Honestly, the price was fair given the solid quality of the meal. The steak was flavoured to my liking and it was grilled to a solid medium-rare cook. Me and my friend received excellent customer service from the wait staff. They were very friendly and a pleasure to talk with. It seems as if this would be a fun place to come with friends for a bar night or to watch a sporting event on TV (because they have a ton). They have weekly specials, a breakfast menu, a steak eating challenge and roomy booths. The menu was alright in terms of variety, especially the apps. I found it to be a little pricey for being a bit of a hole in the wall. As far as I know this is the only Texas Longhorn that exists and I definitely don't see many people lining up to get in nor have I ever even heard anyone talking about it/recommending. For the two plates in my photo (chicken caesar wrap/ribs & wings w. fries) it came to almost $50 and we only got waters to drink. The service was alright, friendly enough. But the food wasn't worth the money. That gravy tastes like overly-fermented wine or something else weird that wasn't consistent with typical gravy. We both barely got any fries with our meal and the ribs/wings were supposed to come with a cup of coleslaw but didn't. It might be worth giving it another try and ordering something else. But I don't think I'll be back, there are literally hundreds of restaurants in Mississauga that I'd rather spend the money at. read more

I've been going to Texas Longhorn for years, long before they moved to their new location on North Service Road. I've honestly never had a poor experience with either the service or the food and that's why I keep returning. Note: this review is mainly based off their carne asada (skirt steak). Their carne asada is my family's favourite! We usually go on Sunday and order it off the breakfast menu and it comes with eggs, toast, and potatoes for $12 - great value! While you peruse the menu you can munch on the chips and salsa they bring to the table on the house. I was just there yesterday for mother's day and they gave roses to all the moms which was really sweet. I've ordered other things off the menu before like their chimichanga which I did enjoy, but I always go back for their carne asada which always tastes great and I'm never disappointed when I order it. In the summer they open up the patio and even have live music. I have no problems recommending this place to my friends and I will definitely be back. read more

Ordered the Carne Asada (Skirt steak) med rare with roasted garlic mash potatos, carrot&celery sticks, and a colossal onion. The onion came out first, beautifully cooked, golden brown, hot. Served with ketchup. No complaints there. The mash, my goodness was rich and delicious. Veggie sticks, meh. The steak was overly salty. Too salty even but hunger was a good reason to keep eating it. if i could give zero stars i would, six of us went to Texas Longhorn for dinner and it was probably THE worst food and experience all of us have ever experienced in a restaurant. Many years ago when they were located on Dundas street it was an amazing place, now whoever owns it now should just close it before they poison more people. One of our friends ordered the 45.00 dollar 16 oz ribeye steak, when it arrived at the table and he cut into it a smell permeated our table that smelled like stinky dirty feet , it was disgusting the steak was rancid. I remember coming to Texas Longhorn and my kids meal was served in a cardboard car- was the coolest thing. We decided to bring our kids to the new location to try it out & food was still just as amazing as it use to be BUT the service was terrible. Steak tasted like it was warmed in a steamer. Onions and peppers were flavourless. Guacamole was bland. Refried beans and rice had zero flavour. Finally got a chance to check out the new Texas Longhorn, after being a long time patron of the original location on Dundas near Cawthra. What used to be the "best fajitas this side of Texas", are now nowhere near that. To begin with, gone is the southwestern charm of squeaky wood floors and huge wooden booths. That design is replaced by your typical mall design with clean tiles, sterile tables and small booths. The outdoor patio is adjacent to the parking lot and some trees or shrubs would have been nice to black out the site of people parking. The service is slow, the food is not good and the portions are about half of what they used to be at the original location. I counted about 6 small strips of steak in the chicken and steak fajitas. After fidgeting with our food, due to the less-than-stellar-taste, the waitress comes over and I asked, "is this the same TLH that was on Dundas?", to which she replied, "yes....you didn't enjoy your dining experience at TLH?", with a grin. I long for the old days of hot tortilla chips from the bin and fajitas that make your mouth water. Nice try on the re-design, but it's time for me to find a substitute. read more

I've been going to the Texas Longhorn for 30 years. Yes, it was at the old location until very recently. I never had a bad experience at the old location. Mainly I would eat the chicken fajitas however sometimes I enjoyed the Carne Asada. I even enjoyed their chips and salsa even though it was a bit different from the salsa I was used to. All in all, I was satisfied with the old location, even when the service was less than stellar. I considered the Longhorn to be the place to go in Mississauga for great fajitas. Things have changed since they've moved to the new location between Cawthra and Dixie on N. Service Rd. I have no complaints about the location, the staff, or the restaurant itself. I have even gone to the new location on two separate occasions just in case the food quality was inconsistent or the kitchen was having a bad day. After the second visit a few days ago, I felt I had to convey my disappointment in the chicken fajitas. The chicken fajitas are now dry and chewy. I don't know if they're using sub quality chicken now, or if the chef isn't making it right. It's disconcerting since I've always loved their fajitas. The onions are not cooked well enough and seem to be covered in some kind of an orange (colour, not flavour) spice. This type of poor quality happened on two separate occasions, several months apart. This is no fluke. Sadly, this will no longer be my fajita place. I will have to find a new one to go to until I get some indication that the Longhorn has gotten a new cook or cleaned up their quality control. Great staff, great locations and atmosphere. I like it because it reminds me of the old Cali's, it's close to my house and I like the patio, they did do a good job on the patio furniture but should throw out dead planter baskets or water them so they look nice. sometimes they have live entertainment on the patio too. First time getting food from here it was my husband's birthday and the chain fajitas place quality is horrible we won't go. Pick up was easy, we ordered online and it was already to go. It was packed up great and we were surprised on how much food we got. We ordered 2lbs of chicken for 4 of us and we have leftovers! Great taste great sides! There is a shrimp allergy in the family and the other chain fajitas can't seem to get that right along with there pressed chicken. TLH uses real chicken fresh ingredients! Well it's the end of an era... The fajitas that we ordered the worst I've ever had and not the usual skirt steak. It was overcooked (not skirt steak) and honestly tasted like it was just reheated. The refried beans were not good. The tortillas which we used to love now taste store-bought. Also sadly no more chips and salsa. Our beer and sodas were flat. The only saving grace was the service. Jess you are a fantastic this place doesn't deserve you! She was so sweet and attentive. We honestly just felt bad for her because she was so nice but unfortunately it just came down to the quality of the food. I'm guessing it has to do with the new owners and of course the pandemic. The quality seems to just been getting worse especially after the last few months. I know the pandemic has been hard and that's why we didn't make a stink in the restaurant, but I never would've paid for it if it had been anywhere else. Old location was good and food/service was great. New location very disappointing. Was there ordered drinks and food. Within an hour of waiting we were only served our drinks. Five minutes later we got our appetizers. Another 10 minutes food finally showed. Chimichanga was nasty, Philly sandwich had gravy and very little cheese, double burger was ok. Loyal patron of the Dundas street location for many years. Gave the new spot three tries to be fair because there's always a settling in period but reluctantly must walk away. Saw a advertisement for 65 cent wings on Facebook. The ad had beautiful looking wings in the picture. Someone from Facebook asked the restaurant if the wings in the picture were in fact from the restaurant, which the restaurant replied that they were. So I did a quick Google search and found the exact same picture online in 5 seconds. So clearly this business is trying to deceive their customers and passing off food that is not theirs. Why not stand behind the product you sell? Why lie? Is it to attract business? So I posted a link to the Longhorn Facebook page showing that they are lying at these are not actually their chicken wings. Guess what? My post was instantly deleted by the restaurant and I was blocked by the admin on the page. LOL. Can you believe that. If you don't believe me try it for yourself. Have a look at all the pictures they post online tying to pass off as their own food. The steaming fajitas, the flaming steaks on the grill...all stolen of the internet. Texas Longhorn - Why not take pictures of the slop you are putting on plates instead of taking pictures off the internet to deceive customers? I'll tell you why. HORRIFIC- me and my husband both ordered carne ASADA which we have come to love from the previous location of Texas Longhorn . Today the side veg were raw and steak cooked to well done when ordered to rare. My husband had to send his back I decided to keep my steak and had to wait for both my raw sides to come back from kitchen. I got to eat a cold very tough steak by myself by the time my sides arrived and then my husband got wings as we no longer trusting the steak. After all of this we were charged full price for such a cr@p experience- all I can say is stay far far away from this location it is NOTHING like the original. read more

I do not understand the bad reviews. I have dined at 803 Dundas Street E a couple of times over the years and had excellent experiences with my groups for sports events. My usual meal was a steak meal followed by desserts. Always ordered a medium done steak and it came as asked. Customer Service was great . The lighting is great which is great for foodies to take food pictures . My recommendation is to try the steak meals. I recommend the Carne Asada, the Belt Bulger Steak, RIbeye, TBone, Bacon Wrapped Filet. I plan to return once I can get people to come for some tasty steaks. Never faced problems booking a table for outings and it was always easy to make a reservation by phone . read more

AVOID!!!!!! I would give this place a big fat zero if I could. My compost taste better than the items on the menu here. The kitchen really screwed up on every single order we made. The beef fajitas were old and green (and smelled super sour). The rice was uncooked! The guacamole was DARK brown and was easily mistaken for mole sauce (mashed up beans). I do understand that avocados brown when exposed to oxygen but this wasn't right at all. The salsa was watered down and tasteless. The steak was over cooked and when brought back to the kitchen-- the replacement steak was undercooked! The chicken had no seasoning at all! Just plain and dry chicken.
