Breakwall is our local joint and we love it! Last summer we dined on their outdoor patio about once a week, if that means anything. Casual, non-pretentious, and always warm and welcoming. The staff is friendly, consistent and on point, which I find rare in Toronto's service industry. And you can't go wrong with most things on the menu (except maybe the pasta). My top faves are the brisket (so good, and I'm generally not a brisket fan), mussels, ribs, wings and sweet potato fries. The Power Hour can't be beat with half price drinks and apps. This bar and bbq place is a personal favourite. With very casual atmosphere, everyone is welcome to enjoy themselves. The service is also quick, however if you go on a weekend you might have to wait a bit for a table as it tends to get very busy. The sampler platters are my favourite to get as u get a little bit of everything but this time we tried their sandwiches, which were also quite good. The portion was big and the sides of fries were good. Next time though, I'll stick with the sampler as I feel it's more worth the money. Nice little local BBQ place/pub style restaurant. Got one of the platters and the portion was nice for 2 people, the corn bread was a bit dry but really liked all the smoked meats and the coleslaw. Also had the fried chicken sandwich and is exactly what you would expect it to be. They also have TVs both upstairs and downstairs and makes a great place to catch sports on TV. Don't go here unless you wanna become addicted to their food. Absolutely marvelous. This is definitely pocket friendly compared to other bbq joints, and if you order their platter it will last you for two meals. Love the taste of their food. The service is good and the atmosphere is lovely yet quiet enough for you to have a conversation and enjoy yourself. I like their house made habanero sauce. It definitely compliments their bbq. Came by because we were in the area today. Typically won't be around this neck of the woods. There is plenty of free street parking on the side streets south of the restaurant. Food was hit and miss. The pulled pork, brisket, poutine were good. Sausage, ribs and corn bread were not. Service was excellent as staff came by and checked on us often. We sat outside today as weather was excellent and they even set out a bowl of ice water for the doggies. Somewhat disappointed compared to some of the other bbq places around the city. read more

Went with the indecisive platter given I wanted a good variety of the bbq meats. Brisket and pulled pork were an absolute home run. Both were succulent. Soft juicy and full of flavour. Definitely could have went without the sausage, rib and cornbread. A few of us had the ribs and it wasn't fall off the bone and a bit too much of a fight to get the meat off the bone for my liking. Great food; 10/10! The service was good as well, just took a little while as it was packed but understandable. Our server could have been more friendly but it was hot and busy so I can only imagine working in those conditions. Overall, my birthday dinner was great and the food was amazing. I ordered the brisket ($19.75) and upgraded the side to sweet potatoe fries (+$2). I also had a Caesar ($5) which was their Sunday drink special. The Brisket was two medium pieces of smoked beef on two halves of a buttered bun. The sweet potato fries looked wrinkly and overdone but tasted fine. Queen street east has a lot of restaurants and thats got quite the vibe, with the beach around the corner. Breakwall BBQ is one of the best spots. I live in the area and was looking for a new restaurant to try. I checked restaurants available on google and Voilà! I found this gem. This place has one of the best meats around the area, perhaps in the whole GTA. They got huge portions and well cooked. So they got all these slow cooked beef and pork dishes and they're fire. Value for money at its best. We ordered pulled pork from the main items, their grilled salmon and their platter for two which got sausages, about 4 beef brisket, pulled pork and ribs. Their dishes are really FULl SIZE! And generously priced. Our total was 96$ (4 people and we were all so full! The place was quite loud, I am guessing that's usual for a Friday night. I'm super happy with this business - we had a group of 7 ladies arrive without a reservation (unsure if you can make reservation) but they had seating for us. We were seated inside (which outside is optional) and provided with one amazing waitress - since there was so many of us then of course there was a ton of questions. Luckily to say - our waitress was happy and willing to answer all our questions/concerns. Orders were placed and orders were received - we had no issues. She was even happy to box each person leftovers. No liquors or beverages were purchased during our visit. Only suggestion - Maybe have something out for people to snack on; nuts, crackers, and/or basket of bread. This cute little restaurant had a small seating area and a bar area. I came on a weekday for lunch before the pandemic, and it was very packed. We waited around 15 minutes or so for a seat. I got the indecisive platter and I was definitely blown away. Everything was absolutely delicious. My favorite was the brisket, the fat to meat ratio was absolutely perfect and it was so tender and juicy. Nothing was dry whatsoever. Love this restaurant. It's our go-to restaurant for weekly Friday lunches. I'm especially fond of the Mussels Fridays. The menu offers tomato or cream options. I always request the rosé sauce, for the best of both worlds. Their fries, whether regular or sweet potato are fresh cut, crisp and hot. Delish! A group of 6 ate dinner here this past Friday evening. Good thing we had made a reservation as the place was hopping. Our party tried various dishes such as mussels, brisket sandwich and pulled pork. All were declared as delicious. Tried this lively restaurant and were sadly disappointed. The menu and specials board drew us in and the waitress seemed nice but when we showed her a yelp deal for $5off ribs, she had no clue, she said she would ask her boss but then didn't tell us until later when we were eating that the deal was so old and that they were not honouring it even though it is still on yelp. Shouldn't they honour it and then take it down? .The patio seemed cozy and nice and had couples, friends and even young family but the crowd started changing to noisy groups of people which would have been ok but they would get up and down and talk to other tables and were just really loud and obnoxious. I think my 5 star rating is coming more from surprise than anything. I've been a chef for many years and rarely come across a place that smacks me in the face like this one. Service was very attentive even though it was busy - I was never without a drink. I randomly decided to get a brisket plate at nearly 10pm. I anticipated a very dry mound of beef with stale fries and horseradish mayo. What I got was the most succulent, perfectly fatty, perfectly sliced smoked brisket with fries that couldn't have been cooked better. I'm at home 2 hours later still thinking about how perfect the entire experience was. I'm at such a loss for words. This may well be the best food destination in the beach. I'm literally wowed. The place is small but awesome. Love the vibe in there. While I waited for my food I just looked around and every patron had a smile, their reactions to the food made me think I made the right choice to grab food from here. We ordered the large platter. Excellent Q It used to be really hard to get first rate BBQ in TO, but that's changed. Nowadays there are a number of first rate spots, and this is one of them. I had a combo plate of ribs and brisket. (I didn't want pulled pork, so they gave me more of the others.) Both were first-rate. Why bother smoking meat when you smother it in a heavy oily dark fat sauce. Could not taste anything but fat. Why not in a slightly covered BBQ sauce? The horseradish sauce made the sandwich better but it looked like thick mayonnaise and no one told me what it was until later. The coleslaw needed to rest longer. Not a lot of flavour. French fries were pretty good. Was told the ribs were good. Not too saucy. BBQ sauce was on the side but no choices of spice level. Ribs were fall off the bone but not enough smoke flavour in the meat. Coffee was as bad as the waitress said it would be. Probably the worst in Toronto. But I needed something to wash off my tongue because of the fatty sandwich. If you are looking for a good Bbq smokehouse Restaurant then this is not the place.
