Food 4/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Carbon Bar is a really nice place to eat. High ceilings, great decor, clean washrooms. We got there as soon as it opened. It's a short walk from Queen Street Station. But the area outside of that restaurant is sketchy in my opinion. It was 4pm in the afternoon on a Saturday & there were homeless people around, also some people who looked like they were high. St. Mike's Hospital is nearby also & all sorts of people hang out there. Anyway, the restaurant itself is nice. And classy. Decor is red chairs, black upholstered banquette seating. Tables are a medium wood tone. There is a large bar when you enter that has a marble-looking top & bar seating. The lights hanging from the ceiling are round. Music is present but not loud. Walls are exposed brick. Floors are a dark hardwood. For appetizers hubby & I got the korean fried cauliflower (KFC) & he had the smoked bacon caesar salad. For the main I got the 12 oz ribeye steak frites & he had the BBQ plate (a mix of brisket, ribs & pulled port). For dessert we had the Kentucky Derby Pie. I can't remember the name of our server but he was very good, professional & friendly. We got recommendations from him & made our order. The food started coming pretty promptly. We both liked the caulifower & hubby's salad was good too. I got to taste some of the bacon in his caesar salad & It was delicious! My steak was cooked perfectly. I thought it was over seasoned but otherwise it tasted really good. Hubby also really liked his BBQ platter & finished it. The dessert was so good we ordered one to go so we could have it again at home. Despite the sketchy area I would eat here again. The food & service is really good. The ambiance is nice too!

The Carbon Bar offers Spanish-inspired BBQ in a stylish setting. My friend and I visited on a Sunday evening, so it wasn't super busy or loud, making it perfect for easy conversation. We ordered the Spanish Octopus, Burnt Ends Kimchi Ssam (smoked brisket with kimchi and spicy mayo), and the Eton Mess (strawberry ice cream and meringue) for dessert. The octopus was perfectly cooked and delicious. The brisket was flavorful, though a bit too salty for my taste. The Eton Mess was light, refreshing, and a great way to end the meal. Overall, I'd give the food a solid 4 out of 5, but the atmosphere and service deserve a full 5 stars. Our server was incredibly attentive, friendly, and honestly one of the sweetest people I've ever encountered in a restaurant.

Came back a second time and had their smoked beef brisket which was tender and cooked well. Their happy hour menu is pretty good, they have a selection of cocktails and bites for around $8-$11 - we opted for the pulled pork sandwich, grilled shrimp, and sangria which were all great. I also tried the mac & cheese was so cheesy and yummy.

We keep coming back for happy hour just about every Thursday so you know this place is good. A quick 5 minute walk from the Queen Station on line 1 and Happy Hour until 7 pm means I come here pretty often. Service is great and their black mamba margarita is my go to. Two of my coworkers walked over with me at 530 and we had 2 margaritas each before happy hour ended at 6 pm. Ambiance is great with low lights and music playing low in the background. Seating is comfortable with a mix of table and booth seats. We don't normally have a reservation but haven't had any issues being accommodated so far. This is a high end fancy bbq joint but we have only once had the experience menu which runs $85 dollars per person and includes a full tasting menu of snacks, appetizers, pit master platter and dessert. We normally do drinks off the happy hour menu and order the pork belly baos which are divine. We also order Brussels sprouts to make sure we get our veggies in.

This is a place to eat and drink the night away. Shared the pitmaster platter, a bunch of sides and the smores for dessert. Standouts were the fried chicken (really tasty, juicy inside, not greasy), cornbread (great balance of being moist and chewy) and smores (indulgently hefty). If I had a bone to pick, would have liked the brisket and ribs to be a tad bit more tender. Service was quick and helpful. Space was great for groups. Vibe was lively yet conversation-friendly. This is a good spot to meet up with friends.

Upscale BBQ at its best! I was very impressed with my recent visit to The Carbon Bar for classic smokehouse BBQ and cocktails! The BBQ lineup is quite extensive with classics such as Beef Brisket, Sausage and Ribs! The brisket is nice and tender and you do not need a knife to cut through the beef brisket. The fried chicken is nice and crispy with the chicken still remaining its moistness. The cocktail lineup is impressive with many classics that pairs well with bbq! I can't wait for my next visit!

*Drinks review only* Stopped in at around 5:30 on a Saturday to grab a quick drink before dinner. It looks like a pretty hip place. Once you walk in, they have sound boards nailed on the wall. We sat by the bar but the rest of the dining area looked pretty spacious. For drinks, I had the Texas Tea (Michter's bourbon, ginger liqueur, eucalyptus apricot and mint honey lemon juice). It was nice and refreshing. There were a few others that sounded pretty good but we had to get to a dinner resso. It's definitely a unique cocktail menu though and I appreciate that they have more than your typical old fashioned and mojitos.

The Texas BBQ will have you feeling full for days. I'm still full as I write this review. The meat is BBQ'd to perfection. Juicy, packed with flavour, absolutely delectable. As full and lethargic as it might have made me feel post meal, I'm still craving the leftovers. The cocktails, the selection of bourbon, and the sides all compliment the platter really well. We took the burden of decisions off our hands and selected "the experience", which is a curated meal. A couple of starters, a seafood item, salad, then the platter (which you can get on its own), and dessert for the finish. The pie, which I wish I could remember the name of, was decadent and I could eat a whole bowl of that. Even after eating all that heavy heavy meat. So, go hear hungry and don't plan to go out dancing afterwards. I'd recommend you find a plush chair with a cigar to let your gut do it's job. Our server was nice, helpful, and an all round great person. Our food was a tad disjointed in its arrival as there was a long pause after our starters, but it didn't ruin anything. We had more time to chat and drink. I must mention one thing though... The place is very loud. I had a hard time hearing people across the table and felt like I had to yell. So, not your spot for an intimate dinner.

Visited on a Friday night, and overall, we enjoyed this restaurant. It wasn't packed but also wasn't super busy. We started off with drinks. I got the Lavander Pisco sour, and my daughter got the Blackberry Margarita. Both were tasty and delicious. I ordered the Piri Piri Chicken, and my daughter got the Burger. The chicken was super tender and had a great flavor. The sauce that came with the chicken was spicy but had just the right amount of spice. The broccoli was delicious, and so were the potatoes. I really enjoyed my dish, and the portion size was just enough. My daughter lived her burger, and it was super juicy and also had lots of flavor. We opted for desert, and it was almost like a pecan pie with a side of cream. It was also delicious. We lived the ambiance of the resteraunt, and our server was amazing. We were glad we stopped here and had an amazing dinner.

High ceiling venue with great food. Service was inattentive but food came timely. Location is downtown and close to Eaton center but that specific block is sketchy. Overall, ordered the Jumbalaya for my main and it was delicious. 3.5 stars.

great and fast service. high ceiling, great atmosphere, decent food! Came here with 3 friends because we got some time to kill before dinner. I'm glad we stopped by! oysters were fresh and cocktails were good. We will be back for the bbq next time!

(OVERALL RATING: 3.5) Came here to try their summerlicious menu with my friends. For $55, I tried their mini birria tacos for my appetizer, pitmaster combo for my main, and lastly, banoffie pie for my dessert. The mini birria taco was tasty and flavourful. Since my friends also got the pitmaster combo, they had put it all on a tray for us to share. This included their St. Louis style ribs, prime beef brisket, pulled pork, coleslaw and pickles. We all agreed that the beef brisket tasted the best, while their ribs and pulled pork were average in my opinion. They also gave us sauces for the meats, sweet and spicy one was my favourite. This combo will definitely have you full though as it has all different meats to try, which is good for those trying the carbon bar for the first time. The dessert consisted of bourbon toffee, vanilla chantilly, and brulee banana and despite it being a small dessert, it was way too sweet I could not finish the whole thing. Overall it is a spot I'd recommend for all the meat lovers!

Meat platter has huge portions, love it. A bit expensive though. Takes a while to serve. Interior is much bigger and nicer than it looks from the outside.

Service was good, however, we were somewhat forgotten at times since we were tucked away in a dark corner. We ended up ordering the Truffle Fries, the Spicy Rigatoni Vodka pasta, the Korean Chicken, and the Vodka Pie. The truffle fries were crisp and plentiful. We added sausage to the Spicy Rigatoni Vodka pasta, and it was delicious paired with the pizza. The Korean Chicken were bite sized and flavourful as well. We started with the Brussels sprouts which is always a great choice from here. Crispy on the outside and not an overwhelming Brussels sprout taste. This is likely because there is a generous sprinkling of grated parm and a great amount of dip. We tried the crispy tuna sushi. The tuna was beautifully marinated, so flavourful. And the sushi was nice and crispy. The vodka pie was a seasonal item and when we saw it listed, we knew we needed to try it. The sauce- amazing, the press was nice and flaky and light and really tasty. And the soccer Sada added nice saltines and flavour without being too overwhelming. On a Valentine's Day brunch visit, the atmosphere alone was enough to justify the reservation. The kitchen demonstrates genuine competence: dishes arrive with care, the pacing is unhurried, and the mise en scène -- from tableside presentation to that now-famous thirteen-layer chocolate cake -- reveals an establishment that understands the theatre of fine dining. That towering slice of chocolate cake, in particular, is a masterstroke of marketing and pastry craft in equal measure; it draws the eye, earns its reputation, and very nearly steals the show. Where LOUIX LOUIS gives one pause is in the cuisine's ability to fully match its surroundings. The cooking is accomplished and reliably pleasant, yet seldom rises to the level of genuine distinction one might hope for at this price point. Dishes satisfy without surprising; technique is evident but inspiration, at moments, feels held in reserve.
