Have seen this place develop from a takeout type place to a sit down with both interior and patio seating now. Food - (4/5) - New York Strip - it was quite good. Well cooked and tender and the wild mushroom sauce was a great accompaniment. - Grilled Salmon - not bad with decent flavour - Caesar Salad - just average overall Service - (4/5) - server was friendly and attentive. There were lots of tables available and no reso required. Atmosphere- (4/5) - not a fancy place but clean and well spaced out. Meat counter is interesting concept. Haven't been there at night but seems busier and livelier. Overall - (4/5) - it's a more casual but presentable restaurant ideal for a chill lunch or dinner. Prices are very reasonable vs more upscale places. Repeat again at some point.

Burrata

What's in a name? Apparently, everything. Royal BarBeque is both a bar and a bbq restaurant. It has a gorgeous heated patio as well as a spacious indoor dining area. The staff dressed to impress but above all, were equally impressive and professional at their job. Our server was super pleasant and helpful with suggestions and advice, and the food was served fast. We ordered a seafood as well as a meat platter from the appetizer menu to share, and the server also suggested a side, so we ordered a burrata. The burrata was nice and light. The vegetables were fresh, and the cheese chilled to a nice temperature. The seafood platter had black tiger shrimp, calamari and grilled calamari. I am drooling just thinking about how much i enjoyed them. The meat platter consisted of five chevaps, two pork shishkabobs, two sausages, four chicken wings & grilled garlic sticks. The meats were all so juicy and tasty, and i was happy how they were not overcooked. Did i feel like royalty? YES. Perfectly cooked food in such a nicely decorated environment, be treated so nicely by the staff. I am putting this place on my must go back list.

Yelp reviews for this establishment is outdated. Google has more recent reviews. I'll comment on the takeout process. Called in advance to place my order. Person answered, took my order, and advised would be ready in 20-25 minutes. Arrived in 20. Order was ready. I also asked for the beef/lamb and pork/beef chevaps to be in separate boxes. Thank you for marking which is which! Ordered "Meat Platter One". Ten chevaps. Options are beef/lamb or pork/beef. I opted for five and five. Length is about 1.5" to 2". The aroma was intense while driving home. The taste was unparalleled to anything I've had recently. Two small burgers. This really should be reworded to two small burger patties, as this would be more accurate. Options are beef/lamb or pork/beef. I felt it was the chevaps in the form of a burger patty - equally delicious. One chicken breast. This was the most plain item in this platter. It was a grilled butterfly chicken breast. I did not taste any seasoning. Two pork shishkabobs. Standard pork shishkabobs. It was bbq'd pork on a kabob. One smoked sausage. It was long and thin, but it was extremely flavourful! The taste was literally ineffable. Would 100% recommend y'all try this. So worth it. One royal cannon. Basically the Serbian version of cordon bleu. Rolled pork loin fillet with kaymak (clotted cream), breaded then deep fried. Served with tartar sauce and lemon. When cutting this cannon, the kaymak just oozed out. Can't say I have acquired the taste for kaymak. In summary: 5/5 for chevaps, patties, and sausage. 4/5 for the pork shishkabobs. 3/5 for the royal cannon. Would 100% return for the chevaps, patties, and sausage.

Update Review: wanted to get delivery and they have their own online ordering system. Tried to register but it would not allow me to input my address. Ended up calling the order in which was fine but a little frustrating. Got the burger, chicken sandwich and the sample meat platter from the appetizer section. I do wish they listed which condiments are availed to dress the burger. Would definitely speed things up. They have mobile pay and the delivery was safe for COVID. 1) Burger (beef & Pork): excellent as always 2) Chicken on a Bun: my daughter enjoyed it 3) Sample meat platter: nice selection of meat and we all enjoyed. Overall this place is pricey but has good food and have found the customer service to be friendly. Side note: I figured out the ordering issue with the website. They send you a confirmation email which I did not get the notification for. Once confirmed the address went in no problem. All good for next time

My boyfriend and I went to Royal Meats for dinner. Although the decor of the place is lovely the food is not so much. They have gendered washrooms, but they were clean and you were able to get in and out of them without touching doors which was nice. My boyfriend and I decided to split a large Cesar salad and a medium done steak. The Cesar salad was fine, but the highlight of it was the croutons. If your just looking for something to eat I would suggest it but if your craving good Cesar salad, full of flavor then look elsewhere. The steak although cooked how we asked was not the best quality. It was full of fat, stringy and lacked flavor. I recently had the same cut of steak somewhere else for half the price that was alot better, neither or my boyfriend walked away from the meal wanting to recommended it to anyone. Considering it's not cheap to eat there either, I'd say save your money.

This place stands out if you're driving by because it looks out of place in the middle of an industrial area. Driving by, that's how I found it, purely by chance. Of course, I had to investigate. As their name suggests, there are lots of choices for meat lovers, along with a selection of salads. One item caught my attention because I've never heard of it before. Chevaps. My server explained that it's a Yugoslavian dish and described it as a skinless sausage. It's available in two varieties - pork and veal or beef and lamb. Cool, I'm in. I ordered five of each and a side of garlic fries. It looked exactly as described, a grilled skinless sausage. It also reminded me of a mini kebab or kofta. It looked good, smelled good, and tasted really good! It had a nice blend of spices that I couldn't really pinpoint. It was on the verge of being a little too salty but very tasty. The fries were crispy and had just the right amount of garlic. A little pricey but very good meal. I don't know if or when I'll be in this neighbourhood again but I would definitely come back.

been waiting to come here for years and I was finally able to swing by one night after work. I as well was a bit intimidated on arrival, because I had no way to enter this place and when we finally got into the place, no one was available to greet us and we had to wait for someone to come and greet us, then seat us. this space looks way bigger on the inside then on the outside, and the open concept does it a lot of favors for the mood and energy of the place. placed my order and we were waiting about 20 minutes for the app's to come to the table, the deep fried cheese(Smazeny??) which was the best item on the meal, but also came with some dehydrated jalapeno slices?? also the calamari arrived which was decent at best, and again came with some dehydrated jalapeno slices??? I didn't get that aspect at all. as soon as I was done with both of my apps, the plates were taken away and replaced with the main course but it left me stumped a bit. as you can see in the photo I took, it literally looked like they put a couple of slim jims in the lepinya sandwich bun and that's it this is what they offer for smoked sausage...ok...lots of other toppings but very little meat, next to no meat, less then 40% of the bun was covered with meat...and especially for 10 bucks I was very disappointed. one of the bright sides to this meal was that the burger bun was coated in kaymak, which was very refreshing and delicious with everything else in the sandwich, I was also surprised that my sandwich came with a side of fries, sadly when I got the bill, it was something that was added onto the bill and not at my request, which left a foul taste in my mouth. I also was able to try some ajvar which I looked up later to be called "Serbian vegetable caviar" very nice flavor and im a fan of it. the service that I had here was lackluster, half of the restaurant was full and the lady that was serving us couldn't keep up it seems, I counted about four times I hit the bottom on my water glass. lots of parking on site, and for ttc options you have the 44 kipling/944 kipling express only. the catching up with my friend was awesome, but I don't think I will ever come back to this place, a lot of the menu had items mixed in with beef, so I do believe I've tried all the options I can.

Meat cooler

Very nice restaurant in Toronto area. The food was delicious. Wait staff is very nice and knowledgeable. I love that you can immediately upon entering the restaurant see the fresh meat on display in the cooler. Your food comes from this cooler. You can also see the kitchen and your food being prepared.

The Royal Burger Deluxe!

Ok...so this is a cool restaurant. 1/2 butcher shop, 1/2 sit down restaurant 1/2 take out! The place was quiet...it was a Tuesday nite & the weather was crappy which explains it. I had the Royal Burger Deluxe! It was most certainly my "top 10-lifetime" for burgers! It was delicious! It was soft, tasty & filled with goat cheese! The bun was oversized (as you'll see by the pic) & called a Lepinya Bun. Ot came with the standard toppings as well. Our server "Katarina" recommended the garlic fries which were outrageously good. Very buttery/garlicky. It was a small order but worth it taste wise! My wife ordered the "Chevaps Burger" but it was a little over-cooked & I agreed with her assessment. All things considered...a solid meal. It's a do-over!

Okay, price may seem high, but you surely get what you pay for. Okay, my wife's steak came a little overcooked, but seasoning was perfect. My aunt's lamp chop was perfect. What we're surprised, first, was how good the garlic fries were. You can taste the garlic but it's not overpowering. What I did not expect from a MEAT restaurant is how well they cook their fish. My mom and my sister went for the basse and it came grilled perfectly. I had the Talipia Sandwich and it was AMAZING. I've been to many restaurants, even ones that are "seafood restaurants" will overcook Talipia, let alone trying to make a sandwich out of it. It was cooked just right, so it's still moist with perfect seasoning. The down side? We were so full we didn't have any room left for dessert.

One of the few Serbian restaurants in the GTA! Can't go wrong with the cevapi. Good service and they have a nice big patio.

Out group tried the Biscuits and gravy, shrimp Benny and brisket Benny as well as fried green tomato, kids apple johnny cakes and grilled cheese. The portions are generous. The chicken with the biscuits and gravy were 2 pieces of brined dark meat chicken served on a biscuit and collards smothered in pork gravy. Chicken was very juicy and super crunchy, collard needed some acidity, biscuit was light but a little overdone and gravy was not as fat a decadent than in the south, lighter but still tasty, wish they poured it a little more generously. The fried green tomato was outstanding as the accompany silly aioli situation was great. Kids apple jonnycakes were a hit and loved the hot chocolate with mini marshmallows for the kiddos. Gtilled cheese was a hit - got the pull and the bread was well toasted. The home fries were a bit of a let down. Although very cool and layered, they seemed very greasy, maybe oil or flattop wasn't hot enough? Benny's were both good, shrimp cake was well cooked and crisp and brisket was flavourful and moist. A couple Saturdays ago, I was running a few errands. Once I was done, I felt like visiting a diner for lunch. I did a search and found Poached Dreams Diner in Aurora. I didn't mind driving up from Markham to check it out. It was straightforward getting here. I parked in the parking lot and walked in from what looked like the back of the diner. There's also a front door with a patio that faces Wellington Street East. I was immediately greeted by a young, enthusiast woman. I let her know that I needed a table for one. She got me to a comfortable booth by the window. The catch is that you have to watch your step to get to your seat. It's a treat when I have breakfast out. I thought that I'd be getting french toast. Well, all that changed when I saw a heading for comfort foods on the menu. Nothing makes me happier than seeing open-faced sandwiches on a menu. It was probably during my days living in Winnipeg that I fell in love with such sandwiches and at least a side. New goal: come here and have every open-faced sandwich on the menu. I got cold water to start. It was refreshing and much needed after running errands. I ordered these items for my meal: - Diet Coke (2) - Hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and veggies My Diet Coke came with a glass with ice. I loved it. I wish the can was larger! I needed a second can for dessert. I loved my hot turkey sandwich. There was a generous amount of sliced turkey smothered in sauce over a slice of white bread. I got to choose my starch. I went with mashed potatoes. There was enough gravy over the turkey that I dunked my spoonfuls of mashed potatoes into it. I loved the steamed veggies. They were perfectly cooked. They also went into the gravy. The meal was delicious. I'd order it again. I felt like dessert. I asked if there was any. Baklava with pistachios. I said yes. I thought that it would be a square or rectangle. Nope. I got a roll. Cool! It was perfect. It had the right amount of honey. It was crispy and yummy. So good! I paid my bill at the table. I tipped and then tapped my credit card. I elected to have the receipt texted to my phone, which also signed me up for its points program. Yay! I learned that this diner has been open since June 2025. I'm always late to any party because I seem to live under a rock or in a cave. I'm glad that I visited this eatery. Great food. Great service. Great! I used the washroom before I left. The women's washroom was clean and had a full-length mirror. This eatery is huge. It looks like there's a cafe for those grabbing coffee and maybe a snack before leaving. I look forward to returning for more good eats and drinks. (148)

There is local art on one side of the wall and graffiti style decor on the opposite wall and washroom (which you can pickup one of the provided pens and tagged it yourself). The cajun fries are soft potato wedges coated in chili flakes and paprika. It comes with what looks like the burger sauce as dip and is tangy and finger licking good. The ambiance of the diner reminded me of my go to college bar in my college days in New York. We tried 4 appetizers to share and sticky toffee pudding as the dessert. The vinaigrette that came with the salmon Crudo was delicious. If they sold it by the bottle, I would purchase it. Then we got the carrots with cardamom labneh and dukkah spices. The dish sound so simple but taking complex spices like cardamom and dukkah truly elevated the flavour of the carrot. The eggplant came with white bean and stracciatella dip with a side of sourdough. I wished sourdough was a bit more toasted however, the dish itself was very well executed. However, I was pretty disappointed at the sticky toffee pudding. Where is the toffee sauce?
