Located in the heart of Chinatown. They have a large variety of skewers and you order on an iPad. There's about 10-12 tables. The prices are very reasonable. Service was great. Not handicap friendly as there's stairs to get down. They also serve beer which pairs well with this type of food. Great spot to hang out with friends . Food is great for sharing. Street parking available and there's also a green p right across. They take cash and credit. 5% if you pay cash.

Every dishes I ordered did not really stand out for me. Skewers were just okay and both clams/ scallops did not seem that fresh. Was disappointed because most of reviews for skewers were highly rated on google.

In reality a 4.5 here, but I will say this place has a whole bunch of highlights, including some of their signature popular dishes that were frequently ordered, which were very affordable and plain delicious! My experience wasn't a 5 star mostly because of what I have personally ordered. My friends were good with this type of food and ordered everything but the silkworm chrysails, which I ordered. Since one of my friends and I were both from the region that the restaurant represented, we knew exactly what to go for to share, and we ordered everything from 爽口莴笋丝 which is the asparagus to the 五花肉酸菜 which was the sauerkraut with pork. Everything was tasty and small in portion, so if one had a big stomach, he/she would need to order a lot to get full, which wasn't a problem for me at the time, so I just ordered the silkworm chrysails. However, the silkworm chrysails were off, as they were not only small, which pretty much meant that the flavor was too condensed to th point of tasting like burning, with not much substance inside the cocoon skin. So basically I was almost just eating crispy skin which wouldn't make the dish complete. Also, I usually had the dish not only with much bigger silkworm back home, but also with black colored ones instead of these tiny golden ones. It was slightly disappointing. Still, I must admit that EVERYTHING ELSE was fire, and I would still highly recommend whoever around the area to come here, as long as ensuring that the right items are ordered. There could be other items that were off, too. Something that didn't rub me off the right way was that maybe because they were busy, but our waitress constantly approached us to take our tablet (ordering machine) away, even if we were not finished with ordering everything yet. And whenever we expressed we wer not done yet, our waitress would just walk away without saying anything. I get that Chinese restaurants would compromise service and it's cultural, as we focus on food flavor the most, but I still want to point it out in case anyone reading this cares about it. However, it did not play a factor into my review because Chinese restaurants in general can be like this and that's okay!

I finally came across a Chinese BBQ skewer restaurant in Toronto with flavours tasty enough to make me want to return! The skewers here are nicely seasoned, the quality of the meat was good, and the price of the food was decent. The restaurant can get quite busy so it's recommended to go a little before theie peak hours or to call in advance to put your name down. There are two locations only a few doors apart, so you will need to make sure you have the one you want if you plan to call. The staff here are friendly, and efficient, but seem know limited English. Nevertheless, they give you a tablet to place your order with lots of pictures for for those that cannot read Chinese (about 10% of the menu didn't have English translations). The ambiance here was also good, and has Chinese street stall inspired decor.

Just a few steps from Spadina and Dundas, I found a newly-opened skewer place offering delicacies from the region of Northern China. As a lover of great interior design, I was stunned by the marvelous architecture and props to showcase the culture to customers. The prices for the skewers were not too bad given how much they gave us in an order. We enjoyed the clams, skewers, the warm customer service from the staff. I really recommend to try this new spot in Toronto Chinatown Things we had: foil-bakes garlic okra grilled bean curd lamb shoulder skewer (12) 羊肩肉小串(12串) pig fat intestines pork belly pickled cabbage bbq clams 碳烤花甲 squid skewer

Went to this restaurant for the first time, and we had an interesting experience. The place itself is really cute with a lot of Chinese decoration, it almost reminds me of being in China. The skewers came pretty fast, we tried a rare and raw beef skewers, we thought we had to wait till the raw skewers to cook, but later found out that it's fine to eat raw. It would have been helpful if we were advice by the servers. The skewers itself was pretty flavourful, even thought we asked for mild, it was still pretty spicy. One thing that disappointed us was when we ordered the clams, we asked them twice after waiting for a long time, and the second time that's when they asked if we went to cancel it, since we were done with everything else. We enjoyed having the wide selection of the menu. It's good to choices to share with friends. Another thing was that be prepare that the server may speak to you in mandarin right when you walk in. Even thought I spoke it, but it was uncomfortable for my friends, since I was put into a translator position.

Came here after work one day with a friend and it was a nice little hidden gem right on Dundas in Chinatown downtown Toronto. I'm a big fan of skewered bbq foods and when you walk in you get that freshly grilled bbq skewer smell. Although its ala carte and not all-you-can-eat, the format is similar to some nearby AYCE places with ipads given to each table. You simply choose your items and key them in directly on the ipad. Some highlights included the fried rice, the beef skewers, lamb skewers and the scallops. The booths and decor are all a really nice dark wood color which gives this place a homely vibe. For the price, the atmosphere and the service I'd definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area and looking for reasonably priced bbq skewers.

Came here at 10pm on Sunday and there was a line out the door! We provided a phone number and received a call 15-20 mins later. Ordered 3 kinds of skewers and a cold noodle. Absolutely everything was delicious... the skewers here might be our favourite in Toronto so Far. Great seasoning that is not too spicy or salty, and meat is very juicy while being a bit crispy. Price is great too!

After trying to eat here once before and failing due to long wait times, I came back again for an early dinner (around 5:30pm on Sunday). That seemed to be a good time as it was starting to get busy but we didn't need to wait for a table. By the time our food started coming out we already saw people being turned away as the restaurant was full. This is a happening place! We were a group of two and we ordered the chicken noodle soup, beef rib skewers, chicken heart skewers, enoki mushrooms, squid tentacles, and lamb skewers. The chicken noodle soup came out first and it was surprisingly delicious for this being a skewers restaurant. I had low expectations but I wouldn't bat an eye if these noodles were served at a proper hand pulled noodles restaurant. It also came with some chicken wing skewers and those were delicious - spiced and cuminy. All the other skewers came out one by one, and they were all very delicious as well. They are small but each order comes with 6-10 depending on the item. I especially enjoyed the chicken hearts and beef ribs. The squid tentacles came out in a smaller portion than I expected (it was supposed to be 10 skewers but it was just a few pieces) but it was delicious nonetheless. Overall this place is really delicious and the bill for the two of us came out to $25 each after tax and before tip. That was great value for the quality of the food, and we were absolutely stuffed. This has definitely become one of my favourite skewer places in the city!

The food at this grilled skewers shop is quite good. The moment you step into the shop, you are greeted by a strong Chinese ambiance, and the atmosphere is quite unique. Personally, I really enjoy this restaurant.

The posters outside caught my eye, and I decided to come back with a group of three friends to try it out. We came a bit late around 8 PM, and most of the fish were already sold out except the original. We ended up ordering the Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish ($40), a whole fish served bubbling hot with three toppings (potatoes, spam, and lotus root). You can choose between catfish and turbot, we chose the turbot fish. It looked extremely spicy, but the spice level was actually perfect. It was a bit on the oily side, but pairing it with rice balanced it out nicely. The fish was very tender and buttery, everything tasted amazing! We also ordered the Stir-Fried Egg with Tomato. The eggs were soft, the tomato sauce was rich. Not to mention the portion size was huge, we even had leftovers after eating until we were full. The restaurant itself was spacious, clean, and had plenty of seating. I think they were doing some sort of promotion so they gave us a $25 off coupon, though it expired pretty quickly so we didn't get to use it. I'd definitely come back for that grilled fish.

A few of their dishes come out on a sizzling plate with flames underneath. They are still in soft-opening mode with several specials. You can see the menus via a QR code. The Hunan cuisine is listed as "Hunan Noodles" and the Szechuan cuisine is listed as "Chopfire Menu". The Szechuan dishes are listed with 1 to 3 chilies representing the spiciness. If you can't handle spicy, then avoid eating the chili pieces and you might "survive". The restaurant decided to minimize their food offerings so that they can focus on refining their dishes in terms of quality and taste, including from customer feedback. We ordered the following: 1. Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish ($39.95). 2. Home Stir Fried Beef ($21.95). 3. Bullfrog with Baby Ginger ($19.95). 4. Stir-Fried Cauliflower with Preserved Pork ($15.95). 5. Drunk Oolong (charcoal roasted oolong tea base) x 2 ($5.95 x 2). 6. Lemon Taro Balls ($7.95). We also saw the following: 7. Stir-Fried Sliced Pork with Green Pepper Noodle Soup ($9.99). First 10 customers each day, only pays $1.00. 8. Ink Painting Cocktail ($5.95). The Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish came out on a huge sizzling platter. The BBQ Fish, a Turbot Fish, was very fresh and flaky, easily coming off the bone. There is no head attached like at typical Chinese restaurants but it would not have fit in the platter. The platter had a delicious sauce (soupy consistency and not sweet), luncheon meat slices, lotus root slices, and two other vegetables, along with chili pieces. The entire dish tasted great together with the various flavours. The menu listed it as 2-chili spicy but I could handle it by avoiding the chili pieces. The Home Stir Fried Beef is tender. It is listed as 3-chili but I could handle it by avoiding the chili pieces. The Bullfrog with Baby Ginger has the bullfrog cut up in little pieces; no you don't see a whole frog! The meat was actually good but most pieces have bones in it, so it takes time to eat it carefully. There was ginger slices in it but it, but we thought the slices were quite large! The Stir-Fried Cauliflower with Preserved Pork was very delicious! It came in a sizzling plate. The Cauliflower was flavourful and was not crunchy and not too soft. I've never had preserved pork slices before; it was quite good, not as salty as Chinese preserved vegetables. The Drunk Oolong has comes in a small bowl a with gin and ice. On the side, they include pieces of the charcoal roasted oolong tea leaves so you can smell it; quite a good smell indeed. You can also order it without the gin, which is what I ordered for mine (since I don't drink alcohol). It was such a nice drink! The Lemon Taro Balls dessert was pretty. In the centre was a slice of lemon. The customer service was good. There is plenty of indoor table and counter seating, including a small private room at the back. There is also an outdoor patio during warmer weather. There is pop music playing in the background. There is no free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There are two gender-neutral washrooms downstairs, so they are not wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2025-026

The signature apple wood roasted Peking duck was definitely a highlight, especially with the tableside carving, which made the whole experience feel even more polished and memorable.
