Almost dead in here for lunch on a Wednesday. The service was very good and the reason for scoring a high of two stars. The food was mediocre to terrible. The smoked brisket sandwich was awful. Why bother smoking meat when you smother it in a heavy oily dark fat sauce. Could not taste anything but fat. Why not in a slightly covered BBQ sauce? The horseradish sauce made the sandwich better but it looked like thick mayonnaise and no one told me what it was until later. The coleslaw needed to rest longer. Not a lot of flavour. French fries were pretty good. Was told the ribs were good. Not too saucy. BBQ sauce was on the side but no choices of spice level. Ribs were fall off the bone but not enough smoke flavour in the meat. Coffee was as bad as the waitress said it would be. Probably the worst in Toronto. But I needed something to wash off my tongue because of the fatty sandwich. If you are looking for a good Bbq smokehouse Restaurant then this is not the place. Overall great joint for BBQ and a casual meal. Best for a sunny day when you can sit on the patio. Pulled pork plate and brisket sandwich were fantastic. Good BBQ sauce and horseradish sauce. Coleslaw was good, a little bit too creamy for my taste, but overall not too creamy. Fries were pretty good. Expect around 20, plates include 2 sides. It was large and felt like great value. Would I go regularly? Probably not because it felt heavy. But would I be back and recommend to a friend? Absolutely 9/10 NPS. read more

What caught my eye was the really the large fake palm tree out front. On a nice summer day, the front patio is the perfect place to people watch as you cool off with a drink (there were some interesting patrons from the neighborhood). They have the usual pub food and beer options, so no surprises from the menu. I had a wrap which was a great lunch option, especially with a pitcher of beer to wash it down with. Even though it was a busy weekend, the service was obviously working hard to keep up and our server she was friendly when she was with us. A good choice when in the neighborhood. read more

Went there for a late night meal and was shocked at how good the ribs were. They were smoked to perfection and finished off perfectly. Coleslaw was fresh and crunchy and the beans were really good. Regardless of what you order you will be impressed with the food and drinks at Breakwall. My favourite meals are the Farfalle pasta, Breakwall Cobb salad, pulled pork quesadilla and the mussels. The meals are served with fresh cut fries and/ or a fresh salad with amazing homemade dressings. The place is clean and has a great patio for their extensive list of blended cocktails- all of which come with fresh fruit. Ordered delivery twice. It's a bit expensive but servings are generous so you get your money's worth. The farfalle is delicious. I normally hate sundried tomatoes but they're bomb. Reminds me of the only good dish at Cheesecake Factory, Cajun chicken with bow tie pasta, that they took off the menu years ago so I haven't gone back. The ribs were good and my toddler love them. Forgot what else I had the last time but i think one thing was poutine and it was really good. Cobb salad is fire. read more

Although you wouldn't suspect fantastic tasting, meaty deliciousness when you first approach Breakwall... Don't be fooled. The prices are great, the meat is melt in your mouth, (especially the ribs) the accompaniment of great sides like fresh cut fries and fresh fruit makes for one seriously happy foodie. Have eaten here many times and only once was I a bit disappointed with a BBQ meat dish being a bit dry, but otherwise the ribs and chicken are very good. The salads in particular are wonderful - huge portions and very tasty. My husband enjoys the sandwiches and pasta. Kids menu is great, and again very good sized portions. Sometimes the food takes a while but in general we are very happy with this place. Definitely the best pub food in the Beach. read more

I usually come here with friends. It is a 2 floor sports bar which contains fooseball or pool. They have a large selection on the menu and I would have to say their daily meals are large portions and good enough to take home. They have a couple of tvs and serve beer. I think is a fun place if you just want to kick it and hang with a couple friends. It's a great area to be in especially when you're exploring around during nice weathers. read more

You have good portion sizes here and good pub grub, definitely more of a place you go to for drink deals because they have everyday specials. It is better to go in summertime because they have a big front patio but in winter they have a nice lounge on second floor. Not a good spot for wine drinkers but for mixed drinks and beers it's one of the gems of the beaches. I go there a ton with my bf and sometimes they do mess up our order but when they do they gave us our meal for free which was great and the meal was still great so no complaints here! read more

It saddens me to see so many bad reviews on here! I come here very often to eat and have never had a bad meal or experience. Pastas, pulled pork, calimari, and baked brie (to name a few) are all super yummy and the portions are massive for the price. Pub food prices for massive portions of BBQ seems like a golden recipe. Overall, the quality of the BBQ was alright. Nothing memorable or worth coming back for (except if I have a serious craving for BBQ and can't find anything else). The brisket was tasty but there was something missing. I couldn't quite put my finger on it. Everyone at the table seemed to enjoy their food, but it didn't appear anyone was wowed by it. The best surprise was the fries under the brisket that had brisket fat dripping on them. Required excessive self-control not to gorge on those. If I was in a mood to go all out, the brisket poutine on the menu was also extremely tempting, but I've heard other places in TO do that too, so I might give one of those a shot. read more

The food here was bad. Really bad. Riblet appetizer came to the table charred and dry, pulled pork sandwich was gross, ribs were dry and tough, not juicy and moist at all like ribs should be. Only good part of the meal was the fries. Had to get our own condiments and side plates as well. Definitely do not go here. read more

I have eaten at breakwall many times over the years, has always been a great spot to hit up in The Beaches.

I found the food very tasteless and the meat dry as a wood chip. It's a small establishment, unless it's summer and you get to sit outside, and rather musky smelling. I also didn't like the way the manager was acting towards the waitresses. But I did give it one star. read more

I love this place! The food is absolutely amazing every time I go. Great portions ( too much lol ), cooked perfectly for the dish and full of flavour. It is a go to for myself with or without my kids and I always take friends there when visiting me from out of town as I know they will be 100% satisfied and they always are! Landed at this restaurant while in Toronto visiting some friends. Walking in it was fairly standard bar downstairs, which was what we were looking for. We ended up sitting upstairs, where there was a large TV and music playing. The waiter was very friendly and laid back, and nice enough to change the channel to the station my friend wanted to see since there were no big sports games on at the time. My friends and I shared the mussels to start. Huge portion, great sauce and bread to go along with it. I got the avacado cobb salad as a main and it was fantastic. Lots of avacado and bacon, and huge portions. The prices were very good, my bill was about $35 for the salad, half mussels and a couple beers. All in all I was surprised at the variety in the menu, as it wasn't what I expected thinking it was just another pub. Would recommend. read more

Wow, this place blew me away. We went there for a work party last night, and I could not be happier about our choice. We gave them our budget, and they made up a buffet for us, and not a single item failed to impress, with excellent smokey flavor, tender consistency, and some of the best sauces around. I go to rib fest every year, and nothing I have had holds a candle to what I had here. The brisket-Phenomenal, the ribs-mindblowing. I fancy myself a bit of a wing connoisseur, and they were amazing. Don't know what they do differently, but the perfect crispiness is a true rarity. Even the pasta and salad exceeded expectations. This place is a gem, and both the front, and back of house are friendly and inviting. Whether your going on a date, have a group of friends that are looking to get a bite and watch the game, going on a company outing, or just feel like having some great eats and a beer, I would say do yourself a favor and check this spot out. My ONLY complaint is the signage isn't the greatest and it's kind of hard to see, and as such, likely isn't the Toronto staple it truly deserves to be. 6/5 from me, Since last night I have already planned a triple date here, and am taking my parents. read more

Went here during Jazz fest and had an excellent experience! The band they had playing out front was great! I had the pulled pork poutine and loved it! Good amount of smokiness and flavour! My girlfriend had their Cobb salad and she enjoyed it alot! Goof prices, draft selection is good and lots of different frozen cocktails. Will definatley go back when in the area again! read more
