Lemon meringue!! Disgusting !!!!
Chad J.

First and last time at this place! Decor is lovely but the service was very slow and the food hardly edible. After waiting 35 minutes for a breakfast skillet and a hot turkey sandwich. I was served mashed potato covered in garlic powder, sautéed carrots that were raw with peel partly on. The skillet had over cooked sausage that was clearly days old and so dry it crumbled with the fork. The bread was cut paper thin and dried out from being toasted. To compensate they packaged a dessert each to go, once we opened it when we got home the lemon pie looked about a month old! The lemon had curdled, the meringue was flat and dried out and could be stretched with your fingers !!! Looked like an old leather boot !! Absolutely the worse food we have ever eaten.

True family diner, has a dedicated seniors menu and healthy portions. Buy a whole chocolate cream pie to go! It was good!

Review Highlights - Frannie's

We had to drive a short ways outside of Guelph to get here, but it was worth the drive; especially considering the terrible breakfast we had in town yesterday.

Lots of parking, which is even better, but that's also me coming in at 5pm on a Thursday. There was maybe 2 or 3 more patrons in the establishment. Water was already on the table when I got there, which is great. The waitress came and took my beverage order and came back with my hot water in about 5 minutes. They have specials every day; Thursday is their fajita special. Chicken or steak fajitas for about $11.50 or so? Calamari was also on sale for $8.50. Overall, ambiance was not too bad. It was quiet since no one was there. Service was mediocre. Waitress came to take the table's bevvy order (once the whole party was there), we told her that we were ready to order food as well, but she walked away, which was really weird. She came back maybe about 10 minutes later with a glass of wine and took our order and as I was asking for more hot water, she walks away and disappears for a while. This seemed to be a repeated occurence that night. I ordered the steak fajitas. Didn't get my tortillas or side condiments until after I got my sizzling plate. Seems that they had forgotten my order.. or someone else's and didn't know who had what. A friend ordered a chicken fajita and the sizzling chicken plate was burnt. The individual told the waitress that it was burnt, but she proceeded to put it on the table and left us. Cobb salad is a large portion and looked really good. Mediterranean salad was half the size. Bills were messed up as well at the end. Specials weren't given. Soup sizes were small. Antijitos were not available in the evening because they sold out of it in the afternoon... (aren't they just tortillas and cream cheese?... weird.) The food was subpar. the service sucked. It was cheap though so if you're looking for cheap eats, great! But it wouldn't be my first choice to dine at.

Really love this place, because Stacked is one of the few breakfast places I've found in Ontario that offer gluten-free pancakes, waffles AND French toast. Most bfast places just offer GF bread, which is nice, but these days, with all the products available, I'll die on the hill that it's just lazy to not offer all menu items GF. Stacked always delivers. I picked up my rental car in Kitchener, and decided to eat breakfast before driving to Kingston. Good choice. It was a Thursday, but there were still a good number of diners eating...usually a sign on a weekday that the place is really good. I started off with the celebration of Cinnabun pancakes. Do you know what a treat that is? I don't eat this stuff at home and these taste like the best cinnamon bun you ever tasted. With the pancake stack, you will also get meat, eggs and potatoes. It's a big meal full of carbs yes, but always good to treat yourself on occasion...life is short! My server was Pratyasha. She is the most friendly and engaging server I've had at this restaurant. It's always nice when the server asks you a few questions and has a little conversation outside of just the food. She shows a genuine interest in her customers and it was much appreciated. Best server I ever had at this chain. She also knew that the sausage was not GF, and I always appreciate when your server knows that about menu items without you having to ask. Makes you feel safer about the food and shows they really care about their customers. The food came out quick and was delicious. The scrambled eggs were not dry and the bacon was so good. Potatoes were perfect as well. The restaurant was clean, including the bathroom and decor was cute. Easy free lot parking too. I'll definitely return. Hope Pratyasha is always my server!

Special mention : Pranjali made our experience even better. She is a great server and a good conversationalist. So we ordered a kiddie meal ( made some substitutes) - a birthday pancake and fries with apple juice. Avocado toasts, coffee, mango lemonade and cinnamon pancakes. For 2 adults, when the arrived on our table it looked like the food was for 5 people lol. Their pancakes are humongous and delicious. I could not finish even one. (A full pancake platter has 3 pancakes) the home fries are seasoned and delicious. They are addictive. Spicy home fries were topped with picked jalapeño, bell peppers and onions, and you can't stop munching on them. Coffee was a total miss. But overall a great place for brunch!

What started as a simple visit for a coffee quickly escalated into a series of issues that left me deeply dissatisfied with both the service and the way I was treated. It all began early this month when I ordered a coffee. The person making it was wearing street clothes, which struck me as unsanitary. After taking a sip, I noticed something foreign in the drink -- it appeared to be a piece of fabric or lint from their clothing. Disgusted, I called the head office to file a complaint, as I felt that the restaurants hygiene standards were clearly compromised. Instead of a simple apology, I was told later that same week by a manager that I was now banned from that location. According to the manager, this was because I had made a "false complaint," which is completely untrue. My complaint was legitimate, and I was treated like a criminal for raising a concern. Things only got worse when my adult daughter and 12-year-old son tried to visit the McDonalds the following Monday. The same manager told them that they, too, were banned from the establishment. This was not only baffling, but also completely unfounded. My son, a child, that had nothing to do with this situation, was banned for no reason. What if he was to be invited by a friend to go there? Is he supposed to tell them he can't because his mother made a complaint and got banned for it? To make matters worse, my daughter had already placed an order through the app and, after waiting nearly 20 minute, was unable to get a refund. When she contacted head office, they couldn't issue a refund but instead gave her loyalty points, which is hardly an adequate resolution. As a customer who has supported this business for over two decades, I've never caused any trouble or raised complaints without reason. I've always been respectful and patient, but this experience has left me questioning how they handle their costumers. When I tried to get help from head office, they told me they couldn't intervene because this McDonalds is privately owned and that the owner already knew and agreed with the restaurant's decision. It seems like this lack of accountability allows for poor management and customer service to persist unchecked. I'm beyond disappointed, l wouldn't recommend this location to anyone else. I have a large personal and professional circle and have made all of them aware of this situation and all agree with me that the way all of this was handled was highly unprofessional and have all decided they would not be returning to that location or any of the two locations owned by the same person. If you value good service and respect as a customer, you may want to consider other options.
