Service was Amazing and super friendly. The bifana was sooo good. The sardines were good but left a fish aftertaste. I'm not sure if that's normal as this was my first time having sardines that were not from a can lol. Unfortunately the Bacalhau à Bras was not great it was super dried out. Had the chicken with medium heat sauce, on the side. It was very good. Friendly staff, large selection of baked goods, of all kinds. The atmosphere is more like a coffee shop than a fancy restaurant. We love Portuguese food and always enjoy the delicious eats at Lisboa. It is really the only Portuguese restaurant I know of in the KW and surrounding area. I never got a chance to try their pastel de nata's yet as they're almost always sold out but their chicken, rice and potatoes are great. I especially love their fried fish and shrimp & cheese patties. The homemade piri-piri sauce they make is AMAZING. I would buy a big jar of it separately. I used Lisboa for an event with their party trays and their pricing is wonderful given the amount. Highly recommend! read more

I probably need to return and adjust my rating. Last Sunday, I had a craving for Portuguese custard tarts. I decided to give this place a shot at around 5 pm. There is plenty of parking. It feels like a small town in this shopping district. I parked and went inside. To my right were the pastries and desserts. Sadly, there were no custard tarts. I was disappointed. I love custard tarts so much. I went to the hot food items on the left. I went with beef stew, which looked appetizing. Although I could have eaten dinner there, I went with takeout and brought the stew back to my hotel. The verdict? I didn't like it. I ate a few bites and threw it out. The beef cubes were tough at times. The stew sauce was too salty for my liking. I will go back again when I'm in Waterloo. Hopefully, I can get some custard tarts and maybe try some other hot food item that is tasty. (179) read more

A great place for something different! An authentic Portuguese restaurant. The food and menu are European, and great! The chicken and other roasted meats are their speciality. The bakery produces authentic Portuguese bread and desserts. The bread unfortunately is always sold out! People order it in advance because it is so good. The desserts are to die for! Some you have never heard of like bean tarts. All are great and the price is fair. They also host soccer parties in season with large screen projectors and bleachers. The fried fish a beyond amazing! We catered food from here in July and Wer pleasantly surprised with the quality, taste and portions. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The Portuguese potatoes were fantastic, both same day and next. The fish filets were a hit for all, even non-fish lovers. The portion was reasonable for $3 piece. The roasted chickens were on the dry side, however--- but still tasty with the spicy sauce drizzled on top. Will be ordering from here again soon!! read more

Terribly mismanaged! Waited an hour and my order still wasn't completely ready from the order placed yesterday! Overpriced and overrated! Don't waste your time or money. I tried to get alternate order options and she wouldn't accommodate anything. I left without my main dish and I'll never go back. Will be cooking myself from now on. Lisboa should reconsider their approach to customer service when lots of people have ordered for Christmas Eve and don't get what they need after hours of waiting. People still waiting outside for 2+ hours. Terrible Christmas Eve experience! Tried helping a local business and they ruin my family's Christmas Eve. read more

Best Portuguese Chicken In Town Quite affordable, and delicious. 1/2 Chicken + 2 sides (I chose 2 sides of roasted potatoes, because - well they are amazing) Not a fan of the rice, if you want rice go somewhere else. If you enjoy spicy food, you will find their "hot" chicken mild, however, this is the perfect amount of "hot" for normal palated people. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for roasted chicken that isn't Swiss Chalet. As Vincent mentioned the Pastel De Nata are great and recommended for anyone looking for a snack. Went for dinner at Lisboa a few weeks ago. Had a quarter roasted chicken dinner with rice and roasted potatoes.Not sure if the patatoes were fully cooked, but they kind of tasted raw (they were served hot from the deep fryer I believe so I wasn't 100% sure if that was how they were supposed to be served or if they were not cooked enough). Had a piece of the blackforest cake for dessert. The cake was okay, but it was a little stale. I don't fault Lisboa for this as it's hard to find a fresh piece of cake served by the slice at many bakeries & cafes around town unless you order and buy an entire cake. Will come back to Lisboa again as the service was good. read more

Every time we've been here it smells great but the service is horrible. Ordered two sandwiches to go, one was so soggy it was not edible. Also took forever to get through the line. This is our go-to place in the neighbourhood. Most people go there for the charcoal grill chicken. Besides that, it also got great daily hot dishes. I really enjoy their home-made chicken soup and fish dishes. Those round potatoes are my favourite. The atmosphere got a great neighbourly feel. It's clean and got lots of windows. Stopped in to check this place out today as we were in Kitchener. Since we had already had lunch and it was around 4 pm we ordered the Galao coffee. I had a strawberry cheesecake (NOT made here - bought in) and my partner had the coconut tart (actually more like a muffin or cupcake). The Galao is nothing special. It's a simple Latte - on a par with MacDonald's or Williams Coffee Pub but twice the price. My cheesecake was overwhelmingly sweet to the point where I couldn't eat it. The coconut pastry was heavy as lead, dense, and had little to no flavour even though there was plenty of coconut in it. Two desserts, 2 coffees $14. and change. The server was a wonderful young man who took alot of time explaining the desserts. Yes he got a nice tip even though the food was so-so. The noise was horrendous as they were showing the World Soccer matches on every tv (there are several) and the crowd was drinking and watching the show. The restaurant is clean and new, not classy - very casual, kind of diner style. We found the menu prices to be very high and were glad we had already eaten. A side of vegetables or potatoes for example 6.99 and sandwiches around 10.95. Definitely Toronto pricing here and not what I expect in a plain neighbourhood setting with paper napkins and a large take out counter. We didn't try the chicken so we can't comment on that or the other mains, but since the prices are steep, I doubt we will be driving there again as there are so many other options. Really I kind of doubt this place can survive with these prices and that atmosphere. The breads are brought in from Toronto, ditto the desserts - the only thing made on the premises in baked goods is the Pastel de Nata which was sold out, and we've had plenty of egg tarts before now. The chicken was still turning on the grill at 4.pm. Everything is overpriced unless you order from the take out menu. Three stars is for the service and to give it the benefit of the doubt. read more

Delicious chicken and some great deals. I'd eat their chicken as often as i could, but it ends up at around once a month. The baked goods are also fantastic with great breads that map seasonally onto holidays and sweets that remind me of the sweets in Astoria New York that I used to hang out at (it was famous for making the cake for the movie Big Fat Greek Wedding.
