Menu consists of salads, soups, & sandwiches.

4.5* If you miss Brown Dog Café in Hamilton, don't fret because Copper Kettle used to be Brown Dog. And they also have the signature apple (+ pear) fritters!!! Menu consists of salads, sandwiches, and soups. Sandwiches were ~$13-14ea, but it comes with either a side salad OR soup. I liked that they had the option of a soup, as opposed to just salad. Bread look as though it was freshly baked - not from a supermarket. Salad looked super fresh! If this is your first visit, I'd definitely order at least 1 of their freshly made fritters. Orders are taken at the counter, they give you a number, and your food is eventually delivered to your table. Place was really lit on a Saturday afternoon with people chatting, couples, people working on laptops, etc. The café is quite big and there are even a few couches! Other than the wobbly chair that I sat on, I can't think of any complaints about this place! Staff could've been a bit friendlier. Limited parking at the back of building.

Take out menu (prices have gone up since this was printed).

I had to stop here because I had a great experience a few years ago and I'm back in the neighbourhood today. A Bakers Dozen of the famous Copper Kettle Signature Apple Fritters for $15.00 (even though the takeout menu states $12.00). It's a beautiful hangout for a social; tables & chairs, plus cozy couches & lazy boy seats. They cater as well: platters, soups, salads and beverages. You can sit and enjoy these items in the cafe too! Great service and ambiance.

Great open space that feels warm and welcoming. There are couches and tables depending what state of relaxing you're looking for. Order and pay at cash and they bring it to your table. We ordered the Caesar with and roasted beet salad. Fresh greens with apple, roasted beets, sweet potato, pumpkin seeds, red onion, cranberries, and goat cheese with a poppyseed dressing. Yum. Friendly service and food came out quickly.

This is a cool cafe with a warm atmosphere.. staff is friendly .. you order at the counter from a pretty decent selection of entrees and sweet treats .. the space is a decent size and location is among some other charming buildings in downtown Waterdown. They make Apple and pear fritters fresh with the Fritter Obsevatory. The Apple fritter I just had tasted wonderful .. they offer good coffee as well, including organic and fair trade.. nice spot !

Really enjoyed this cafe! Stopped by for lunch and it was surprisingly pretty busy. The decor and small touches are very endearing. We ordered the copper caesar salad with chicken and the kettle club. The food was enjoyable. especially liked the kale in the caesar salad, but the chicken didn't seem to be very fresh. It had a very "reheated/microwaved" taste to it. But considering this is a cafe and not a restaurant, i thought the food was impressive. Didn't get a chance to try any sweet snacks, which was unfortunate since it seemed that the apple fritters were made fresh to order. Will definitely be back to try some different menu items!

If your ever looking to visit a Cafe with a group of staff who run it with a heart of gold, then definitely give this place a try when in the Waterdown area! Cooper Kettle has become a household name in Waterdown thanks to the amazing apple and pear fritters they make on the spot. They even have a viewing station so you can see how they're made as you wait. If you have kids they may enjoy that :) While the fritters are literally the BOMB, I also enjoy their coffee selection. This in my opinion is how a proper Cafe should run and I'd take this over anything Starbucks tries to offer.

Outdoor seating area

Amazing vibe and atmosphere! The staff were very friendly and the food was phenomenal! The over all experience was exactly what I was hoping for. Very similar to the english and australian laid back and chilled out vibe and food.

I really love the apple fritters so very much. Especially if they have hot apple cider on hand.

I order the Maple Almond Latte which was not bad... but I wanted more maple & almond flavour. The presentation was lacking with just the cinnamon thrown on top. I guess I've been spoiled by cafes with cute little designs. Also all the flavor hangs out at the bottom... so next time I'll be sure to mix my drink before consuming. I also ordered their Mini Croissant which looked way better than it tasted. Instagram cute... flavour kinda forgettable. It had a piece of chocolate in it... The barista asked if I wanted it heated up and regrettably I declined. It would have been better to have that chocolate melted. Now the staff friendly and welcoming, which always makes any experience better. Again the atmosphere was stunning. One of the main reasons I'd come back. They have a section where they have all these big pillows. I loved that. Outside they had free 20-minute parking... the alternative was 10$ so I didn't stay very long. Overall I would recommend coming for the vibes not necessarily the specialty drinks. But to be fair I haven't tried them all. They also had pizza which looked very good and I overheard the barista say Sundays are their busiest day.

They serve a variety of drinks including coffee, tea, and a small selection of alcohol. These can be paired with their food offerings, such as baked goods, pizza, sandwiches, and snacks. Their spicy Italian sandwich was one of the best I've had in a long time! Just make sure to have your sandwich warmed up when ordering. The iced salted caramel latte was also delicious. Friendly service too! Will definitely be back!
