Best butter tarts ever, even better than my own from scratch! I always stop when I'm in the area.

They also have reserved signs on larger tables so that only larger groups can use them, and not 1 person sitting on their computer for hours taking up a huge booth! (a+ for that!) If you are planning on staying in, you order at the counter, they give you a table number, and you take a seat, where they bring you your order. However they also have to-go cups for those loyal drinkers. The prices are high, higher than you'd pay at tims or mcds but you are visiting a premium shop for a reason, no? Location is quiet, opens from the parking lot, not lakeshore, like most of the businesses in the plaza. I'm a fan! 4/5

Their coffee itself had a nutty and chocolatey hint which I enjoy. I also tried their pistachio muffin. It wasn't too sweet but I couldn't really taste the pistachio. I still liked how they had crushed pistachios on the muffin. They seem to have an extensive selection of brunch items which is pretty convenient for those looking to do some work on their laptops.

This sandwich was definitely made from someone who knows how to cook Italian. The pieces of veal were thick, and tender; with the cheese melted all over, and sauce lathered on top of the veal. The bread was fresh, and tasty; definitely a very well-made sandwich! To be honest, I would have liked for the bread to be crunchier however, that is just my personal preference. In terms of the atmosphere, it was a small shop, with some seating in the front, and more in the back. This place is more for take-out therefore, the seating isn't the most comfortable, and it is dark in terms of the lighting. We did see other individuals coming in to dine as well therefore, there were a few of us in the restaurant at the same time. Service was top-notch, with the lady behind the counter bringing the food quickly, and asking us if we enjoyed everything once we had finished.

I asked for a bun and cheese and they gave me attitude like they were doing a favor to charge me extra. It was not a language barrier. Pasta was fresh and good but veal was dry and not hot. Chicken was just ok. Will not return. For $100 to feed 4 ppl, I'll keep driving to Etobicoke to Mama Martinos.

I found parking right in front of the cafe. It's diagonal, pull-in street parking. I walked in. It's a push to get through the door. I was immediately greeted by a friendly, accommodating staff member. I wanted a hot chocolate and asked about the four different ounce sizes. He showed me all the paper white cups. I went with the second-largest size. I also asked that I get soy or some non-dairy beverage added to it. Done! I have a weakness for baked goods. This cafe has vegan options, including pumpkin vegan muffins during my visit. Everything looked so goods, from brownies, to cookies. I saw the large cookie jars staring at me. My gosh, each cookie is larger than the palm of my hand and I have big hands! I wanted a s'mores one so badly. You basically take the tongs, grab your cookie, and place it in a paper bag. I got my hot chocolate and cookie that came to $9. It's not cheap, but it's fair trade goods. I expect to pay slightly more. There is a draft in the cafe, so the merchant bill that I had ripped off the machine before getting my bill blew off the counter and onto the floor. I let the man know, which he appreciated. You can pay by cash, and debit and credit cards. I also provided a tip. As usual, it's up to you. It was a bit of a challenge with full hands to get out of the cafe when you need to pull on the door handle to get out. Luckily, I put my hot chocolate on the bar-like table, pulled the door open, used my foot to keep it open, grabbed my drink, and moved quickly through the door. Problem solved! The hot chocolate is dark chocolate. I happen to love it. If you are more of a milk hot chocolate lover, you might find the hot chocolate to be missing sugar and perhaps taste bitter. I loved it. There was probably more soy in my drink than there should have been, but it was perfect for my less sugary needs. The s'mores cookie is extremely yummy! OMG, if I lived in the neighbourhood, I would buy the jar of cookies every day. It was buttery, chocolatey, and marshmallowy (I know, not a word, but whatever) delicious. It paired nicely with my hot chocolate, as it had slightly more sugar. I would come back just for this cookie alone. There were plenty of seats to sit down. If you sit by the bar-like area with stools, you get a nice view of the area. People-watching is casual in this cafe. It has a nice vibe. You can get a number of fair-trade coffee varieties. I am personally not a coffee connoisseur, but I appreciated both the selection and the cause. I like this cafe. I'd come back to give the muffins and more drink items a taste the next time I'm here. The place was cozy and serene. We ordered the Almond Croissant (4/5), OG Fried Chicken & Waffle (3/5) and the Huevos Verdes Shakshuka (3/5). Almond Croissant was both buttery and flaky. It was moist all throughout but I wish it had that little bit of crisp on the outside when you take a bite out of it. Personally, the almond extract was too subtle for me. Some almond slices could've been added to this pastry as well. OG Fried Chicken & Waffle was okay. The fried chicken itself was crispy even though it was coated in the ghost pepper and maple sauce. The maple flavour wasn't very distinct and the overall flavour profile of the sauce was tangy and leaned a lot more towards a Nashville fried chicken sauce. This was quite a let-down since we didn't expect that flavour profile and if we did, we would've just ordered their Nashville Fried Chicken & Waffle instead. The creamy slaw was placed in between the chicken and the waffles which resulted in the waffles being soggy. I suggest asking for the slaw to be on the side instead. Huevos Verdes Shakshuka was also okay. The highlight of this dish would be the spicy tomatillos, onion, garlic paste and pepper sauce that came with the eggs. However, my eggs were overcooked as I asked for over easy and got over hard instead. The hummus was okay. It could use some lemon and garlic to enhance the flavour. The flat white and the cortado were both decent. They were smooth and creamy. Overall, some improvements could be made in terms of the flavours and textures of the dishes. I do like the interior; it's a cute cafe and brunch place to go to.

There are more seats in the enclosed patio, but no one was sitting there. Spanish music was blasting through the speakers which I loved (the vibe). The food was presented well. Service was decent. The unisex washroom was a surprise to me. Overall, it was a good experience and I would love to try their other dishes, especially the empanadas.
