Bagel on Locke and Chickpea Toast
    Daniel S.

Staying downtown and this was a short walk from our hotel near the art museum. Fresh whole grain bread and other baked treats. The chickpea toast was outstanding. The bagel and lox has sumac onions on it. If I lived in Hamilton, I would go out of my way to have breakfast here on a regular basis. The coffee was good but I'm a bit of a coffee snob so I didn't feel it was great. Certainly though, far above the typical weak excuse for coffee typically found at most restaurants. I think I would go for an espresso or cappuccino rather than a drip brewed coffee the next time. My fault for ordering the drip brewed.

Good stuff. Where you can chill, have a good coffee with delicious piece of lemon crust and plus more....

The food was decent. The service was quick! The ambience was great! Good neighbourhood vibes. The prices were a bit high for the products. I saw the an avocado toast and it kinda looked odd.

From the same owners as My Dog Joe in Westdale, Mulberry Street Coffeehouse is a chill place to hang out, study, and socialize. The creative atmosphere and laid-back vibe fit in well with the changing face of James St. N. (an increasing number of galleries and independent shops). It's in an old hotel and the space is beautiful -- high white ceilings with ornate detailing, a large hanging lamp with Hamilton landmarks printed on the lampshade, and local art adorning the walls. The patio on Mulberry St. is a great spot. The drink menu is similar to My Dog Joe -- your usual coffees, espresso drinks, plus some tea lattes and iced drinks. I had the peach iced green tea, which was refreshing and not too sweet. I also tried the strawberry smoothie, which was super-sweet because they use a fruit syrup in it (I wouldn't order that again). They have a small selection of beers including Mill St. organic. They also have a good selection of food - sweet and savory, but I haven't had the chance to try any yet. Everything looked fresh and delicious though! Staff are super-nice. If I lived in Hamilton, I would totally become a regular here.

Had a brief visit here in Hamilton during my last visit. I really loved the vibe here - everything from the look and feel, the staff, the menu of freshly baked/made treats and of course because it was mid afternoon.... the coffee! They have many vegan/gluten free baked goodie options for those feeling that you're deprived due to your dietary restrictions. In fact, during my visit, I paired my home made cold brew coffee with one of their vegan doughnuts. It was denser than a standard doughnut but baked rather than fried with a cinnamon sugar taste that made it hard to savour it for long. The wifi is free, and the password is on the cash register, but the staff are so nice here all you really need to do is ask. Great spot, can't wait to return! Eatcrest Out

They are open during COVID-19. Very nice little cafe in downtown Hamilton, the cold brew and cappuccino were excellent! But the vegan chickpea smash (served warm) was the highlight! I really enjoyed it. Chicken bruschetta was a bit above average. My child enjoyed the sauce. The service was excellent, everyone wears a mask and keep the physical distance.

This is our go-to local cafe. Try a dirty chai latte and a savoury scone, or biscuit. You can thank me later.

Such fun times here…read more Came here to see Die Mannequin On Friday 29th. Since the below Yelpers have done an awesome job at summarizing the place, I shall continue with only focusing the experience of this particular event. The lounge has a parking lot in the back. If you are driving and the lounge is on your left, keep driving, there's a few businesses with parking lots in the back. It's safe to park there. This spot is a few streets down from Hess Village so around 2am there is a fun amount of drunken folks walking around. There's a few food places open late if you do get hungry. The crowd this night The Casbah was a VERY interesting mix. This is because it's usually friends/family of the band members. So don't come expecting a select type of crowd. Anything goes here. Since I've brought up the subject of interesting and anything goes, what's up with all the one way roads in Hamilton? The main street (Casbah located to your right) is ALL one way, so if you are anything like me (meaning - nil-ch sense of direction) be careful... you will most likely be driving/facing ONTO coming traffic. (true story), Thankfully, the people here are quite nice. They waved to me (after I waved.. thinking *gosh they're so nice here* I realized why. Made an illegal U turn mid street. They guided me and THEN laughed. Just use the "I'm not from these parts sir". Works every time. There's no chairs and the stage is quite tiny. They have about 4-5 bands play before the main band comes on stage. So if you are travelling, don't rush. They do check ID and stamp you. The smokers section is decent. Again, no seats. You will be working out your legs, unless your kind of a weirdo like me and plop right on the corner edge of the stage. I found beer to be a bit pricey here. There's only one bar located right on the far right corner of the venue, as soon as you walk in. I can only assume, this is where they make money. The bathroom is dinky. Small with 4 stalls. 3 of them have broken handles. Guys kinda just waltz in here, drunk or trying to help a girlfriend etc. So, be super careful. Ask a girlfriend to keep watch at your stall door. The best part about this place? - there's only 1 bathroom section in the whole place. Meaning, you WILL bump into band members. It's pretty cool. Caroline Kawa from Die was the coolest chick in the world. She helped me fix my hair and was SO down to earth. Now if I could just get Metric to play here so I could bump into Emily Haines, I'd die a desert happy girl. Even with all the sketch guys who overhear you talking about how hungry you are and respectively INSIST on walking down the street to get you a poutine, gawk at you from tiny dark corners , I still like this place. It's got a bit of a grunge feel to it so you can really dress how you want- venture into GaGa Land for the night? - I THINK SO! If you're into rocking out, you'll end up having a good time. If you're female, you'll have an even funner time trying to hide behind big equipment "helping" the band through the back door. Yes ladies, there IS a back door. No need to fret about creepers. Once you walk into the hall to the bathrooms, it's straight ahead. No alarms so you can push and run out onto a parking lot facing the main street. You can park here so you can get right into your car. They thought of everything. I like that. xoxo M.

It was my first time here. Sportsman's Tavern bought the venue three or four years ago. It isn't a dive bar like Sportsman's Tavern though. It's much more intimate. It's classier too. I liked the way they had the tables set up. I loved the stage area too. There is a small bar area where you can order drinks. There was also a waitress coming around asking if we wanted drinks or food. They have a small menu, and the food sounded good, but I wasn't hungry. You can park on the street or in their small parking lot, which holds about 25/30 spots. You'll enter the venue via a dark door near the front parking spot. There is much more room inside, than how it looks from their lot. The lot was a bit hard to find. I ended up driving around the block and then I noticed it.
