I wish I could give 0*because I bought sitter feni from this store and it turns stinky and spoiled…read moretaste thank god I did not give to my child when I call the store to tell they put me on hold for 20min no one cares about the products it don't even has expiration dates or production date on it no one answering the call Need to report to public health officials regarding selling expired products

The 34th Ave Millwoods area is dotted with South Asian grocery stores and Fruiticana is another one…read moreof them. It's a BC-based Indian grocery chain that has some vegetables, fruits and other produce catered towards the Indian households, as well as a big selection of spices, herbs, lentils, pickles and canned items. They also have in-store prepared snacks, sweets and condiments that are sold by weight. It's everything that a grocery store in India would have. Fruiticana is my second or third choice for Indian spices/groceries shopping because the vegetables aren't always fresh. They do try to keep things fresh but as is the case with many grocery stores, sometimes you're in luck and on other times.... not so much. However, with Fruiticana I've been in the 'other times' more often. Also, fresh is a relative word here because they're probably using strange means to get Indian eggplants or other Indian vegetables in the peak of winter. It's not as clean as H & W produce or Spice Center (both in the same neighborhood). The staff are reasonably friendly and helpful. Do come here and check out the collection of spices. The in-store food isn't the greatest but I've always found it to be fresh. However, if you're anyway making the voyage down to Millwoods, I'd recommend going to Punjab Sweets for they sell things at a faster rate.

Everything here is over priced. And this is not the worst part of it…read more All of these experiences that I am going to explain has been numerously repeated for me and my friends. They do not give you a detail receipt, and will just show you the total. When you add everything together yourself, 90% of time you will realize they are overcharging. They charge tax for food items that are tax free (e.g. Bread). If you tell them why you did it, They always apologize and say it was a mistake. But this mistake happened just for me 5 time in a row. Lots of items on their shelf is expired. I showed an expired jar of pickles to the owner and his response was, the expiry date has no meaning for pickles. They will get better with time !!!!!!! I hope no body calls health Canada on them. One of my friends went there and after check out they gave him a bottle of canola oil as gift. Surprise surprise, the oil was expired 6 month ago !!!!!, I am pretty sure sooner or later they will kill somebody, I was looking for fava beans, and realized he is selling the Chinese store fava bean just 100% more expensive. Overall, I rather go to Afghan groceries or as a matter of fact any other grocery store to shop for my ethnic food items. BTW, if you have a chance to travel to Calgary, Vancouver or Toronto. Please visit any Iranian store to find out how bad this place is and how a decent Persian grocery store should look like.

Mini Super Pars is a small, family-run Iranian (Persian) grocery store with a charming feel to it…read more Entering the store, one first notices the convenience store kinda size of it, with three aisles formed haphazardly by random cabinets aligned side-by-side. A warm pot of tea is always brewing which is awesome (it's free) and very Persian in taste. After equipping yourself with a cup of tea, you begin to navigate the maze of Persian things that are available here. From the traditional stone-baked thin breads (packaged in plastic, which is fine, from what I've heard), to saffron infused crystalline sugar, spices, sweets, yogurt drinks, pulses, grains and so on. Even a full cabinet of "Persian" tea and a couple of cabinets with lots of different canned items, some of which could be procured from any supermarket, but many of which are strangely unique in their use in Persian food. I liked the grocery store. They also have prepared sweets, including baklava. If I'm not mistaken though, I think the Persian baklava is made with rose water and sugar syrup (as opposed to honey and syrup). It might be worth trying, in that case! The shop owner was approachable and friendly. I like that they have tea brewing (and it's tasty - try it!) through the day. Very inviting feel.

We are always on the search for Thai food whenever we come to Edmonton and today was no different…read more We didn't want to venture too far into Edmonton and I looked up "Thai restaurant" on Yelp and Thai Corner came at the top of the list. Service was great, very attentive crew. The restaurant is tastefully decorated, no gaudy or cheesy decor. Small , quaint restaurant (I think seating for about 40-ish). We got there shortly before 2pm, was seated right away. It looks like they close at 230 (Sunday) and then reopen at 4 for dinner service. The server did come around before 2pm to ask if there's anything else that we want to order before they shut the kitchen. We appreciated that. Highly recommend them. We will definitely come back and I'll try the salmon Penang curry next time!

Thai Corner Restaurant & Bakery is a family owned restaurant that opened this summer on the South…read moreside. It is where What the Pho restaurant use to be. The food here was full of flavour and I enjoyed everything I ordered. Lots of yummy cakes to choose from too! Pad Thai $18.95- This was a really good pad thai that was packed with many ingredients. It wasn't too greasy and came with a small dish of crushed peanuts. Thai Chili Buffalo Wings $14.75- Wings tossed with Thai Hot Chili Buffalo sauce. The flavouring was spot on. The only thing was that the wings were undercooked. The owner apologized and took it off the bill! Thai Milk Tea $5.95- Yumm! It was on the milky side but pretty good Spicy Tom Yum Noodle Bowl $17.95- This included pork patty, pork meat ball, ground pork, gai lan and more. Loved the crispy wonton that came with it! Also came with a tray of sauces that you can add to it! Coconut Pandan Cake $7.25- SO GOOD. Soft and had real coconut pieces inside. Not too sweet! I think I'll order a whole cake of this next time I attend a special event. I'll definitely be back to try more items in the future. If you want to pre-order a cake, make sure to call them in advance. A lot of the desserts were sold out when I went at 8pm on a weekday.
