I've visited Spezia twice now. My first experience was a solid 4/5, but my second experience was a 5/5. For this review, I will be commenting on my second visit to Spezia. I RSVPed to an event, which happened to be at Spezia. There were approximately 20 people so we got one of their private rooms, which was more than enough space for all of us. The wall that conjoined the room we were in and the room next door looked as though it could be moved mechanically to make the room larger to accommodate for more people. They started us off with salads, drinks, and bread. Typically they have balsamic and olive oil for their bread, but this time they only had butter, which was fine. The drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, were both very tasty and well made. The food came out pretty quickly. We had three options for this event: chicken parm, steak, or salmon. I got the chicken parm, and I thought it was really good and juicy. He and my girl friend both got steaks. She didn't have any complaints but he said it was just "good". Lastly was the salmon, but I didn't sit next to anyone who ordered it. The desserts were solid. I couldn't finish my tiramisu because it was too sweet for me. I had a taste of the chocolate mousse was very rich. Sadly, I did not get to try the third option, the lemon cake. read more

I stopped in to book an event and ended up staying for lunch. Just a simple lunch - Caesar Salad with anchovies. It was a classic preparation, with a milder Caesar dressing than many - but one that was really enjoyable and tasty. Also, the salad was perfectly dressed. Too often Caesar salads are over-dressed and sloppy. This was perfect. I asked for bread with the salad and received a complimentary serving of two freshly baked buns which were so satisfying with the salad and the Italian standard of EVOO, Balsamic, and grated parmesan. My server, Kya was very professional, warm, pleasant and prompt. Clearly well trained and someone with talent. Staffing today for many establishments is challenging, so an employee with this level of skill is a real asset. I'm looking forward to returning for an evening dinner in one of their two event spaces with thirty-two of my colleagues from work! read more

Spezia is a bit rich but offers a diverse menu of Italian and adjacent plates. The service is a tad slow but the cheesy ambience paired with really well-balanced dishes ensures I'll be back. I love wherever they source their tomatoes from. The flatbread was really well proportioned on ingredients but the noodles could've been just a bit more al dente. read more

The food is always great but my favorite part is the tiramisu. It's the best I've ever had! Also a nice lunch spot for more casual dining.

From the moment we were seated at Spezia, Joffrey went above and beyond to make our evening unforgettable. He was warm, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure we had the best experience possible. Every recommendation he gave was spot-on, from the wine pairing to the dessert we didn't even know we needed. What stood out the most was how personal he made the service--checking in at just the right times, anticipating our needs before we even had to ask, and adding little touches that made us feel like VIPs. You can tell he truly takes pride in his work and in representing Spezia. The food was incredible, but Joffrey's service is what really made our night. If you go to Spezia, do yourself a favor and ask for him--you won't be disappointed. He's the best! read more

No reservations available so we just took a chance and were able to sit at the bar. Great ambiance. Perfect service with timing and cute banter. The Ribeye was outstanding! Seasonal salad with apples and nuts on point. Old fashioned was perfectly made. 100% recommend! read more

Everything was perfect. I have not been to Spezia for over 10 years. No reason, I just always forget about it. We had a date night and my husband chose Spezia. The tomato salad was delicious as well as the Hot Crab Dip. Both of our entrees were cooked well and full of flavor. The dinner also came with bread and oils to dip. Unfortunately I did not get a picture of the best part. The Tiramisu was the best I've ever had. I was too full and took it home and the next day tried it. So dang good! Make sure to order this even if you need to get it to go! Amazing service and meal, will be back soon! read more

Our server (Sarah) was AMAZING! Best service we've ever had and really made us feel at home. I highly recommend getting a reservation online (there are options on Open table) before coming especially during normal meal times. Parking can also be a squeeze sometimes. If you are allergic to seafood or have a high aversion this might not be the place for you. (Similar aroma when walking into Plank). Pasta and veggies were the perfect Al Dente cook. Flavor of the Alfredo was alright. Next time I'll probably try ordering a different dish. Dessert menu looked awesome just not enough room to fit it! read more

Came by here with a friend visiting town and had a really good experience! So this place was pretty packed when we came by on a Tuesday night so we decided to just sit at the bar which was fine. We ordered calamari for an appetizer and two different pastas. Our meal also came with some bread which was pretty decent. We got the calamari pretty quickly and our pasta didn't take too long after considering how busy it was. The calamari was nice and crispy! Both of the pastas we order were sooooo tasty, but then again we are both lovers of all pasta. I ordered the beef burgundy and my friend ordered a special (I forgot the name, but it was like a tomato cream sauce with sausage). We ended up just sharing both because we both really liked them pretty much equally! Price seemed pretty expected for an Italian restaurant; it was moderately priced. Definitely recommend! This place was really tasty read more

First time here and I liked it well enough. Didn't need a reservation. We were seated in the back of the rather large restaurant. Cool layout. Basic tables, but elegant decor. The menu is traditional Italian, which we'd sought. Its was a wide selection with great choices. First time I got to choose Beef Burgundy in many years. My wife found a pasta dish to her liking, and we ordered their cheese flatbread. It took a while to get the flatbread. When dinner arrived, it was delicious. The wine was likewise tasty. Service was good, but I felt our server was a bit overwhelmed by the volume of tables. I'd like to see that less. Still, as tasty as it was, we'll return. Good Italian is a pleasure. read more

We often get a table here for the Mothers Day brunch and they have a fantastic menu and service that I absolutely love and my family loves!! This year we will celebrate Mother's Day again here especially for my sister's first Mother's Day! The crowds are a bit more crowded than a normal day but it is still worth it for the food!! And I love the noodles they serve here because I love devouring Italian food!! read more

A few friends and I went to spezia for dinner and were highly impressed. There was a decent amount of seating and some even more secluded seating for a more romantic setting. I would definitely make a reservation in advance, because the restaurant fills up quickly. The waitress, Jenna, was incredible and attentive to all of us at the table. She even took the time to ask the bartender to make my pregnant friend a raspberry mojito mocktail. Once she heard I couldn't have gluten she made sure to take my order with care, and even got out some gluten free flatbread to dip in a separate oil so I wouldn't be left out. I got the French Arcadian chicken with gluten free pasta. It was delicious and a little bit of a cajun spice kick to the sauce and chicken. Overall the meal was excellent along with the experience. I definitely recommend and will be back again! read more

Nice, quiet atmosphere- wear something nice (chinos and a collared shirt at least) suit jacket or nice dress wouldn't be too much. Expansive menu with plenty of nice dishes. The food was great! Service was top notch- THANKS JENNA. I had the duck- was impressed. New go-to for us! read more

I've been to Spezia before, and I will always recommend this place! This time, I am pregnant and I was mentioning to my friend that there's not mocktails on the menu, and our server, Jenna, heard and said that they could make me one! I told her to surprise me and she brought out the most delicious raspberry mojito mocktail! This is the most accommodated I have felt anywhere during my pregnancy. I tried this pasta for the first time and it was DELICIOUS! So in other words, go to Spezia. You won't regret it, and if you're lucky, you'll get Jenna as a server! read more

There is nothing like a delicious, hearty, rustic Italian meal and Spezia is one of the absolute best places to get that in Omaha. This restaurant is a very special place for me as I took my girlfriend (now my wife) here on our very first date and whenever we return, I still get those butterflies in my stomach I felt when we first shared two amazing pasta dishes at a romantic candle-lit booth on a warm fall evening. I'm a simple man when it comes to Italian food and a hearty spaghetti with meatballs or bolognese sauce are my favorites. Spezia does both of these dishes very well. I have also tried several of their meat dishes including the roast duck, steak, and pork chop as well as other pastas and all entrees were delicious and cooked to perfection. The service and ambience here have always been exceptional. I would highly recommend Spezia for a delicious Italian meal. read more

excellent Cajun pasta dish with awesome wood fired chicken, I'm from NYC area and my last name ends in a vowel!

My brother's job assigned him to serve their clients in Nebraska, where I live, and he drove out to meet his new clients. He asked if I was free for dinner and conversation. I was happy to get together. He asked for a suggestion where we should meet and I looked at the hotel where he was staying. I noticed it was next to Spezia, a place that I had heard about but never had the opportunity to experience, so I suggested it. He agreed and we made our plans for dinner. When I walked into the restaurant, it was obvious that it would be smart to call and make a reservation to be sure they can accommodate you. I was worried that we were going to have to wait because they were answering the phone and entering information into their computer nearly non-stop, but as 2 people we were seated immediately in their "party room" which is a dining room, separate from the main restaurant and bar area, so it was a little quieter and away from the busier part of the restaurant. Perfect for a one on one conversation. The room felt like a dining room at home, with wooden tables and chairs, carpet and a view of the parking lot. There was linens and silverware on the table, glass goblets and china dishes. We were offered beverages and I had unsweetened ice tea. My brother just had water. During the meal they were very diligent about offering to keep everything filled. When our server asked what we wanted, being new to the restaurant my brother asked for suggestions. Our server said the Chicken Parmesan was very popular, but also pointed out the Peach Chicken from a special menu, saying it was a seasonal house specially, that was probably going to be discontinued in a week or two but people would keep calling to ask if it was available, or how soon it will return year round. I opted for the Chicken Parmesan, my brother chose the Peach Chicken. Both were very good and delicious. The Parmesan Chicken was served on a platter, to accommodate the large breaded Chicken filet, a side serving of spaghetti and marinara, and some delicious grilled vegetables. The Peach Chicken was on creamy mashed potatoes and had a couple of asparagus stalks on top. My brother said he enjoyed it too and commented that beside the peaches there is a peach sauce or glaze that is very sweet. Additionally we were served dinner rolls with a dish of olive oil and balsamic vinegar blend for dipping. The service was very good. The atmosphere was pleasant. And since my brother paid, being on a business trip I am not sure of the final total but each of our entrees were under $30 on the menu which seems like a good price for any meal anymore. Definitely a good value in my opinion and now I want to bring my wife to check it out when we get the chance. read more

Drinks were good. Food was mediocre. Lemon Herbed Rissoto didn't have any flavor. I'd skip and go to Pasta Amore. Wish we did.

Good food, great service! Went on my birthday and server gave me piece of cake to celebrate!

It was amazingly delicious and the service was great! The chicken piccata had great flavor and it was a large portion!

So...it has been almost 6 years since my first review, so I think that an update from our last couple of visits would be appropriate. I haven't really noticed any significant changes since our last visit; the decor, their parking setup, vibe and atmosphere is still the same. It's the type of place that you would want to dress up for dinner, but at the same time...you'd be OK dressing casual. I finally got to try their Cioppino...and I have to say that this is one best one I've had in a long time. This mixed seafood bowl of tomato-based goodness is must if you're craving for a smorgasbord of seafood. The scallops were tender and juicy. And the grilled bread is perfect for dipping. They do have a happy hour menu and offer some cocktails, flatbreads and a selection of appetizers. Unless you're feeling lucky, I suggest making a reservation to ensure you get a table. The place can get busy during peak dinner hours, and parking can sometimes be tricky. read more

Spezia is such a classic!! I took one of my team members there for an anniversary lunch and we were pleased. I absolutely love the warm rolls and oil/balsamic/parm/Italian seasoning situation that is served at the table. It really sets the tone for the meal and gives you a chance to connect with your server. We came for a weekday lunch and even for that I would recommend a reservation. I had the Italian steak sandwich with added spicy peppers and the steak was so tender - melt in your mouth status. My coworker got the gnocchi with no mushroom and the summer salad which was delightful and colorful. MUST round out the meal with the robust dessert menu- I never leave without tiramisu. read more

My food was good but not spectacular. When I saw that this restaurant was one of the top 10 in Omaha, it increased my expectations. The service was okay. It appeared they needed to be more/better staffed, and our server looked overwhelmed. We ordered some flatbread for an appetizer, which took about a half hour to get--still trying to figure out what happened or went wrong there. We'll go back, but maybe for happy hour. read more

We started out sharing an appetizer of Pan-Fried Spicy Calamari. It was a nice combination of spices and crispy fried calamari that melted in your mouth. I had the Seafood Diavolo, which included scallops, mussels, spicy tomato sauce, garlic, lemon, and Italian parsley over capellini pasta. Kathy had the wood-grilled shrimp and scallops--pepper and garlic served with capellini pasta and roasted vegetables served in an alfredo sauce. We finished the dinner off with Spezia Tiramisu (one of their specialties) and Carolynn's White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake (came with a big dollop of ice cream). read more

What's so special about this place? After eating here numerous times I can't tell you. The food is mediocre and even occasionally good but by no means great. The menu can be frustrating and while there are options, nothing really jumps into the spotlight but there sure are lots of cream dishes to choose from. Service is decent and prompt. If you want a "safe" choice, for your Nebraska palette and something different than the abundance large chain options, Spezia might be for you. read more

Enjoyable dinner at Spezia. The architecture is great. Lots of nooks and crannies. We had a cozy booth that almost felt private despite the restaurant being pretty big. (Guy at the neighboring table had a voice that really carried and was not shy about talking, but that's nobody's fault.) Started with Caesar salad, which was OK but nothing special and not worth $9. Cocktail was nicely made, though, and rolls were fresh and warm. Had rib eye because that's what I was in the mood for. Pretty good, but on return visit will opt for something more Italian. Enjoyed a taste of beef stew from my companion's plate. Tiramisu was everything it is cracked up to be and then some. Can envision coming back just for dessert. Service excellent. Helpful and unobtrusive, just right. Parking is difficult. We were in the abandoned law office next door. One tiny complaint -- while filling out the reservation online, there was a question about whether it was a special occasion. It was, and I indicated so. That was the last I heard of it -- no reference to it at all the night of our meal. I didn't really mind, but don't ask in the first place if the answer has no effect. read more

Another great dinner at Spezia! My request for a booth in "the Cave" was graciously honored, and our favorite white wine was chilled and ready. All dinner courses were delicious, especially my wood-fired duck, which was crispy and moist and just the right portion size. Our wonderful server did not make us feel rushed, although at times service was a tad slower than we liked. Almost went with 4 stars because they did not honor "50% off wine bottle Monday" which was still on one of their social media pages - I hope they followed my suggestion to delete that advertising. read more

This was my first time here and I must say I was very surprised. We recommend getting a reservation cause this place does fill up quickly (with reservations!) We were sat very fast, and greeted by the server. He was very professional and recommended we try there new "Spring Menu" from which I ordered their Lemon Pepper Primavera. Not sure how I haven't written a review for Spezia yet, but here we are! This is one of my favorite restaurants and my go-to place for special occasions. Recently had another wonderful experience here for lunch! I always make reservations just to ensure we have a table, and always seem to be seated right away. It does get busy, but I never have trouble finding a parking spot in the back. I especially love this place in the winter because it just has a cozy vibe, perfect lighting, etc. Service is always top notch here! My favorite dish is the gnocchi alla pollo, which is gnocchi, chicken, mushrooms, and spinach in a gorgonzola cream sauce. This is absolutely one of my top five favorite meals ever and I get it almost every time! I also love their warm rolls with the balsamic/parmesan cheese dipping oil. They have a great wine list, great salads, and there is surely something on the menu for everyone - steaks, seafood, pasta, sandwiches. And don't get me started on the tiramisu! It is the best tiramisu I've ever had, and beautifully presented. Such a special place. Is 6 stars an option??! read more
