PNW Clam Chowder
Keith W.

I had a Manhattan to start my meal. The clam chowder was thick and creamy with plenty of bacon and clams. The pork chop was delicious with an apple chutney and grilled asparagus. Service and atmosphere were good.

Upscale feeling restaurant just off the main lobby in the Hilton hotel. Prices are high and quality of food is average. Overall, service was good. I had the Chicken Chop for dinner - one side of it partially overcooked; half of the carrots were undercooked and were essentially crunchy carrot sticks. The German Chocolate Bread Pudding was delicious and the star of the show!

Spencer's has become an annual tradition...we stay at the Hilton after 4 nights of camping at the Gorge and enjoying Dave Matthews Band. So nice to have a well-prepared meal at the end of an amazing weekend. This year we had the Crispy Skin Salmon and the Steak Frites....sooo good!! See ya again in 2026!!

BAR SCENE REVIEW. Most underrated SEATAC bar, definitely worth the trip, or if you are a Hilton guest its unnecessary to go wandering around looking for a cool spot (like I did for years). Cozy atmosphere, good bar bites, burgers, select dinner items, nothing fancy pants though or you will be disappointed. Sandra the bartender (sorry I may have forgotten her name, she is from Columbia, you will know...) is amazing, one of the nicest people you will meet and offers great service, is highly attentive and good company. Breakfast has always been iffy - difficult service. Food, meh. Listen, folks up that early in the morning are heading to the airport to catch a flight! You may sit there 5-10 minutes before you see a server so bake that into your travel time to the terminal. The main dining room/dinner menu, I am not a fan - the kitchen does not put out consistently good food, I fear they know generally, hotel guests are a captive audience so my guess is the restaurant manager is not on top of things. I did some research online about Spencer's for Steak and Chops and was thoroughly confused. I thought it was a chain but could not locate one sole website with all of their locations, only independent franchises popped up. I have been to several around the country that are MUCH better; Salt Lake City for instance is a significant step UP from Seattle. If Hilton manages this one, the GM needs to step in, if Spencer's is leasing the space, well, the owner should be more involved. In any case, for dinner and a game at the bar, try a Burger, NY Steak, Fillet, Rib Eye, or Roasted Chicken. I tried one of the Pappardelle dishes once it was very good. The Farmer's, Caesar, and Wedge salads are all very good. For appetizers go with the Crab Cake, or try the Buffalo Chicken Wings which are excellent, they will prepare them extra crispy if you ask. I hate undercooked slippery wings! 4 stars, bordering on 3, but the bar service was an add-on. Good bar vibe, friendly company, they aways have a game on. Very expensive $$$ price value proposition. I cannot believe the prices dining out anymore, maybe its just my tab everywhere now. $143 dinner for one, and a few drinks... included tip. Ouch.

I had breakfast here and I was pleasantly surprised. I normally don't eat breakfast but just go to Dunkin' Donuts late morning however I knew I was going to be walking a lot so decided to get a light breakfast. I ordered the Greek yoghurt with granola and berries and pastry and the presentation was really great! I could not even finish everything! Great service as well

We got to the hotel around 7 pm after a long day of travel so this restaurant was in the hotel and close. Neither one of us wanted too heavy of a meal. I started with a lemonade which was very good. I was asked if I wanted a second one but I was too full. I ordered off the appetizer menu with prawns and cocktail sauce and a bowl of clam chowder. My husband ordered the 1/2 chicken dinner. My prawns were big and tasted good. The cocktail sauce had a spoon of horseradish added on the top and we enjoyed the additional flavor. My clam chowder was delicious, creamy with diced potatoes and bits of clam. My husbands chicken was glazed. He said he couldn't taste anything but I tasted a little salty and another flavor. His chicken was served with broccoli that were a deep green and fingerling potatoes. He had a leg and veggies left over. We ordered dessert to take back to our room. A carrot cake that my husband said was awesome and a red velvet cake that was pretty dang good. They came with a mixture of fresh blueberries, cut strawberries and blackberries. 1/2 was enjoyed before bed and the other 1/2 became breakfast. The price seems a bit higher than normal but par for the hotel restaurants these days. Our server was excellent and we enjoyed her accent. We got in a conversation about just visiting Calgary, Lake Louise and Banff in Canada .

I just flew into town on a six hour flight from Ft Lauderdale. It's about 11:00 pm Seattle time and I'm starving. Everything in the airport is already closed, so we decided to eat at the hotels restaurant. The restaurant itself is closed but you can still order food at the bar. They have tables around the bar, but if you're traveling with a child under 21 you can't sit there and there is no other place to sit other then bringing it to your room. And yes the bar tender is nasty about telling you. So my wife ordered a couple of flat bread pizza for her and my daughter and a Cuban sandwich for me. The pizzas reminded of of the old Wendy's commercial "wears the beef", but more like "wears the pizza!" Big box, tiny little pizza, and they weren't even that good. Now the Cuban! If you want to call it a Cuban. First it wasn't even made on the one thing that makes it a Cuban, the bread. It was made on a hamburger bun and not even pressed. The roasted pork tasted like BBQ pork with one thin slice of ham and cheese. The fries weren't even good, they were so bad I couldn't even eat them. I would have been better off ordering from domino's pizza.

Hanger steak

This place has amazing service, and the food is absolutely phenomenal! We had the crispy skin salmon and the hanger steak, and finished with the flourless chocolate cake. It was incredible! The bar staff makes wonderful drinks, and they are very friendly! Go hang out at the steakhouse hiding inside a hotel!!!

Spencer's sits within the Hilton Airport Hotel and Conference Center. There is ample room at and around the bar or you can sit in the restaurant area. Therese was very friendly and attentive before, during and after our dinner, and that was at a time when they were getting the dinner crowd. The food was very good. The Cheeseburger was excellent and perfectly prepared. The salmon corn chowder had an ok flavor but it was too heavy. The farmer salad was delicious. Prices were a little high but it's Seattle and it's the airport so all balances out

The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!

It wasn't too hard to get a weekday reservation for 4 and it's located right on the waterfront of Pike's Place, but it was pretty easy to find street parking nearby. Overall, the food was a little inconsistent in quality across the board, but the vibes are excellent for a nicer night out. Oysters (4/5): Super fresh and they have a rotating set of local options. We went with the waiter's recommendation, which were super sweet and a bit salty. One of my friend's had never had oysters before and they were pleasantly surprised by the way it wasn't too fishy! Clam Chowder (4.25/5): Clam chowder was actually probably one of the best bites of the night. Super creamy and luxurious with a good amount of clams. Shrimp Cocktail (2.5/5): Unfortunately, the shrimp were overcooked and too chewy. A real shame because the shrimp are huge! Surf N Turf (2.75/5): Mixed feelings on this one. The scallops were really small, but delicious, fresh, and sweet. The beef cut was some sort of awful hangar steak that didn't feel fresh. A bit small for a main and roasted potatoes were just okay. Lobster Roll (4/5): The bread was warm and nicely toasted with butter. I wish there was a bit more lobster to improve the ratio, but the quality of the lobster was nice! Atlantic Beach Pie (4/5): Very very tart, but I loved it especially with the fresh whipped cream. The saltine crust brought a good amount of salt as well.

From the moment we entered and my son gave his name for the reservation, I was greeted with happy birthday wishes by the hostesses. His girlfriend met us there, and she was already seated. The table had confetti in celebration of my birthday. I was so impressed and truly honored that someone from The Capital Grille took the time to write me a personal birthday card from the restaurant. WOW! Our server, Antonio (Tonio), was professional, attentive, kind, patient, and fun. He was incredibly accommodating, especially to the member of our party who had a gluten and red bell pepper allergy. He was a major part of making sure our experience was a very memorable one. The food was absolutely delectable! I had the surf and turf with lobster tail and medium-well steak, which was topped with jumbo lump crab meat and rich béarnaise sauce. The other guests dined on Cooper River salmon with risotto, along with seared scallops and lobster risotto. The night ended with the most beautiful surprise, which included a well-decorated plate with "Happy Birthday," a cheesecake topped with burnt sugar, and fruit compote, also a chocolate espresso cake that had my taste buds dancing. Thank you to the management and staff at The Capital Grille for making my actual birthday dinner a night to remember. The restaurant is beautiful and very clean. The moment we walked in, we thought, "Uh-oh, maybe we should turn around!" But nope--the hostess greeted us immediately with a warm welcome and made us feel completely comfortable. Even without a reservation, we were seated right away. Our server came by quickly, and I ordered an Arnold Palmer because I'd been drinking way too much all week and needed a break. Let me tell you--that was hands down the BEST Arnold Palmer I've ever had! For lunch, I ordered the clam chowder and the NY Strip Frites, served with fries and two dipping sauces. Do I remember the names of those mysterious green sauces? Absolutely not. But what I do know is that I'm not usually a sauce person, and by the end of the meal, I was scraping every last bit off my plate. They were that good! Everything was delicious, the service was fantastic, and the atmosphere was welcoming despite our very casual appearance. I'll definitely be back on my next trip so I can experience even more of the menu. And one last thing: as we were leaving, they handed us these tiny candies that packed a surprisingly huge punch of flavor. I'm still kicking myself for not getting the name of them--or any of the sauces, for that matter. If the staff happens to read this, just know that when I come back, I'm heading straight for that candy bowl. No shame whatsoever!
