I don't usually rave about clam chowder, but this one seriously blew me away. It was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor without being too heavy. The clams were tender and tasted super fresh, and every bite had the perfect balance of savory, buttery goodness. The potatoes were cooked just right,not mushy, not hard and the seasoning was spot on. Honestly one of the best bowls of chowder I've ever had. On top of that, the service was excellent and friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. I'd go back for this alone. read more

BAR SCENE REVIEW. Most underrated SEATAC bar, definitely worth the trip, or if you are a Hilton guest its unnecessary to go wandering around looking for a cool spot (like I did for years). Cozy atmosphere, good bar bites, burgers, select dinner items, nothing fancy pants though or you will be disappointed. Sandra the bartender (sorry I may have forgotten her name, she is from Columbia, you will know...) is amazing, one of the nicest people you will meet and offers great service, is highly attentive and good company. Breakfast has always been iffy - difficult service. Food, meh. Listen, folks up that early in the morning are heading to the airport to catch a flight! You may sit there 5-10 minutes before you see a server so bake that into your travel time to the terminal. The main dining room/dinner menu, I am not a fan - the kitchen does not put out consistently good food, I fear they know generally, hotel guests are a captive audience so my guess is the restaurant manager is not on top of things. I did some research online about Spencer's for Steak and Chops and was thoroughly confused. I thought it was a chain but could not locate one sole website with all of their locations, only independent franchises popped up. I have been to several around the country that are MUCH better; Salt Lake City for instance is a significant step UP from Seattle. If Hilton manages this one, the GM needs to step in, if Spencer's is leasing the space, well, the owner should be more involved. In any case, for dinner and a game at the bar, try a Burger, NY Steak, Fillet, Rib Eye, or Roasted Chicken. I tried one of the Pappardelle dishes once it was very good. The Farmer's, Caesar, and Wedge salads are all very good. For appetizers go with the Crab Cake, or try the Buffalo Chicken Wings which are excellent, they will prepare them extra crispy if you ask. I hate undercooked slippery wings! 4 stars, bordering on 3, but the bar service was an add-on. Good bar vibe, friendly company, they aways have a game on. Very expensive $$$ price value proposition. However, we had an early am flight out of SeaTac that would require us to get up at 3am and drive 90 minutes to catch. We opted to stay at the SeaTac Airport Hilton. Another deserving review that I can write in the plane. Dined at Spenser's. From the reception to the payment of the bill; flawless, friendly and welcoming! We weren't in the mood for big beef or chop dinners so we opted for salads and sides. I had the Farmers salad with beets. It was the best butter lettuce and beet salad I can remember having. My side of Beecher's Mac n Cheese was the perfect pairing. My partner ordered the wedge salad and roasted squash. She was equally pleased. We got to the hotel around 7 pm after a long day of travel so this restaurant was in the hotel and close. Neither one of us wanted too heavy of a meal. I started with a lemonade which was very good. I was asked if I wanted a second one but I was too full. I ordered off the appetizer menu with prawns and cocktail sauce and a bowl of clam chowder. My husband ordered the 1/2 chicken dinner. My prawns were big and tasted good. The cocktail sauce had a spoon of horseradish added on the top and we enjoyed the additional flavor. My clam chowder was delicious, creamy with diced potatoes and bits of clam. My husbands chicken was glazed. He said he couldn't taste anything but I tasted a little salty and another flavor. His chicken was served with broccoli that were a deep green and fingerling potatoes. He had a leg and veggies left over. We ordered dessert to take back to our room. A carrot cake that my husband said was awesome and a red velvet cake that was pretty dang good. They came with a mixture of fresh blueberries, cut strawberries and blackberries. 1/2 was enjoyed before bed and the other 1/2 became breakfast. I just flew into town on a six hour flight from Ft Lauderdale. It's about 11:00 pm Seattle time and I'm starving. Everything in the airport is already closed, so we decided to eat at the hotels restaurant. The restaurant itself is closed but you can still order food at the bar. They have tables around the bar, but if you're traveling with a child under 21 you can't sit there and there is no other place to sit other then bringing it to your room. And yes the bar tender is nasty about telling you. So my wife ordered a couple of flat bread pizza for her and my daughter and a Cuban sandwich for me. The pizzas reminded of of the old Wendy's commercial "wears the beef", but more like "wears the pizza!" Big box, tiny little pizza, and they weren't even that good. Now the Cuban! If you want to call it a Cuban. First it wasn't even made on the one thing that makes it a Cuban, the bread. It was made on a hamburger bun and not even pressed. The roasted pork tasted like BBQ pork with one thin slice of ham and cheese. The fries weren't even good, they were so bad I couldn't even eat them. I take the occasional early flight from SeaTac and stay at the Hilton nearby. Spencer's is in the hotel so it's convenient to eat there. In my experience, the service is always excellent, the food usually good but it is way overpriced. I have had very good steaks and pork chops but I have also had a couple that were tough or too fatty. The seafood is always good read more

I am a sucker for staying in hotels so when our flight from Seattle to Denver was cancelled and Alaska Airlines put us up in the Hilton, I wasn't mad. Ha! Being that we had already returned our rental car and didn't feel like catching an uber to explore more of the city, we settled into our room and made our way to Spencer's for happy hour/dinner. We were quickly greeted by the friendly bartender who allowed us to pick our own table. She came right over, provided us with waters and took our drink order (double vodka sprite with a lime for him and a 9oz Pinot Grigio for me) and allowed us to peruse the menu. Considering we had eaten a meal a few hours prior, we opted to order a variety of appetizers to share. Everything sounded delicious (maybe we were hungrier than I thought) and opted for an order of the chicken wings, Cesear salad, cup of French onion soup and another small app that escapes me now. Everything came out in record time, was pretty in presentation and tasted delicious. The soup was SO cheesy with perfectly toasted bread, the salad was massive and fresh, and the wings were saucy! We enjoyed the food with another round of drinks before boxing up our leftovers and heading back to the room. The only thing that makes this review 3 stars is the shocking price tag! Our bill totaled $200 with a 20% tip which seems INSANE for the amount of food we got. I suppose that price was due to our alcohol orders - which still seems high to me. Either way, if staying here again, I'll be more mindful of the prices! read more

Every time when travel to Seattle and staying at the Hilton, I always stopped by the Spencer. This hotel might be a little bit outdated but has a very nice restaurant. Service is fine but the food is good. I guess when you travel and feel hungry everything tastes better at the time. Most of the stuff we order are common and not too hard to prepare so less chances to go wrong. Most of the Spencer at Hilton are famous for their wood burning steak, which is something I like. If you need coffee, the Starbucks is onsite. Overall I think it is pretty good while traveling or a place for business lunch or dinner. read more

This lamb shank is what dreams are made of. The succulent meat fell off the bone and I soaked up the rich reduction with it. The saffron risotto was a perfect vessel for gathering up and delivering chunks of lamb in juices to my mouth and the asparagus was expertly grilled and seasoned and I was so content and comforted with this delicious meal. I ate here twice over the span of two days because I was staying at the Hilton for a conference and this was the only restaurant in the hotel, but also the only other restaurants in the area were also hotel restaurants. This restaurant is priced appropriately for a steak house. However, it is not priced appropriately for a steak house that's in the middle of a hotel lobby located next to the airport. I would have no problem paying the prices if I was going to an actual restaurant and if I lived in the area I would never consider going to Spencer's for a nice dinner. I highly recommend they consider a lower price point. $22+ for a burger and $13 for a 6oz pour of wine is a little ridiculous. With that said, the food is good. My first meal there was the Cobb salad. The lettuce was diverse (not your standard iceberg) and the meat, avocado, eggs, tomatoes, etc were all fresh and hand cut. It was delicious with oil/vinegar and no cheese. My second meal was a burger (no bun, no cheese, no sauce) and it was cooked to perfection. It had tremendous flavor. The service and accommodations for my weird dietary requests were great. Both ladies who served me were nice and I appreciated their hospitality. Perhaps Spencer's should consider offering a larger discount to people who are attending conferences there, and/or staying for several days, or offer a separate menu for those folks. Wine prices need to be dropped, or lower price point options for wines need to be available. I noticed conference attendees did not hang out in the lobby bar over the course of three days (which is extremely unusual for this group), and heard from everyone that it was because it was too expensive to drink there. read more

The soup was good, but extremely salty to the point where I felt I had to add water to play down the saltiness. My dinner was the "wagyu" beef medium rare. Well, it came burnt and it was hard. I am extremely disappointed in the food quality of this place. The price is steep, and I wouldn't have had an issue with it if the food was actually up to par. Total bill came to $75.57 with 20% tip given. Unfortunately, I have to say this place deserves a 1 star for the food. Service is fine though. Very disappointed. The experience started off poorly as I waited over ten minutes to be noticed by my server. She asked me what I wanted without bringing a menu. So I felt like I had to ask for a menu which is frustrating to me. She returned with the menu and took my order. The food arrived quickly. I can say i would not order the burger again. For the menu price of 26$ it was disappointing. For the happy hour price of 19$ it was still disappointing. The patty was flavorless and with the bacon it should have been full of flavor. We had just checked in from a long flight and ordered food from the restaurant to eat in room. Absolute rubbish. Ordered a New York steak MEDIUM RARE, and instead I was given this piece of trash burnt with burnt potatoes. As a Hilton member, I was expecting a better quality from their restaurant. $50 for an absolute waste of food. We tried to call and go down but since they closed at 10pm (we ordered at 9:30, picked up food at 9:55pm), no one was there to help. Ate at this "steakhouse" while spending the night at the Hilton within which the establishment sits; like literally within - the restaurant is in the lobby of the hotel, and is INCREDIBLY loud. Menu at first glance indicated this was a decent place to eat l, with standard hotel-restaurant inflated pricing. As I was eating alone, I decided to forego the more lavish choices, and opt for the $21 burger. Ordered it medium-rare with added avocado. The burger came out within 10 minutes, and was ready to go - avocado stem and all! I cut into it, and it was bone dry; cooked so heavily well done, not a speck of juice could be seen. I would have raised this concern to my waiter, except he was too busy chatting up guests at other tables, to even be bothered to stop by and see how the food he had just brought out was.
