I love this place. I used to go here more often when I worked near the border between SeaTac and Des Moines WA. Customer service is always great and I love their 3 tacos and rice and beans plate. I order the same thing every time and no change in quality over the last 6 years. I had a large appetite for tacos and I went alone today around 11am and was greeted with a nice smile as usual. If you order the tacos, get the steak and barbacoa. It's so good! They also serve you chips and salsa prior to your meal and what makes them different from others is that their chips are warm and the salsa has just the right spice level. read more

This review is mainly for the service instead of the food like all of my other reviews. I specifically wanted to laud this establishment as we dropped in after our flight to Taipei was cancelled. We got a couple of food vouchers from the airline and since Las Palmas uses Toasttab as their payment processor we were able to order food here. Even though we technically weren't dining inside, they let us sit and eat while we were trying to figure out what to do to rebook the flight and hotel near the airport. We ordered a Pollo al Grill and a bunch of different pupusas. Honestly I was way too stressed to really pay attention to the food, but here are some notes that I jotted down while eating: Pollo al Grill Chicken ($20.49) - Rice is good. Chicken has a nice grilled flavor and plenty of spices added, but the interior is kind of dry Pupusas ($3.89 each) - Las Palmas is generous with fillings. Every single pupusa is very tasty and cooked perfectly. Las Palmas gives a lot of sides and sauces/condiments with the order. The curtido has good acidity and there's a very savory salsa roja to pour on top of the pupusas. There's also a small container of beans, very smooth and full of lard, guac, and sour cream. This is a really cute little spot. The ambience is casual but not sweatpants casual. It's a family restaurant for sure. There is a small bar area in the back. The service was great. Our server was so sweet and attentive. We ordered chicken tamales and a queso and spinach pupusa and a queso and chicharron pupusa. We also went through two baskets of chips and salsa, which were divine. We both really enjoyed the food. The tamales are a bit expensive at 6.50 each, but they're a safe food for me with my food allergies. So to me it's worth it! There are potatoes and peppers in with the chicken. The chicken was flavored well. These are gluten free and dairy free My partner had the pupusas. The chicharron was his favorite of the two as it was very flavorful. He also really enjoyed the sauce which tastes like a tomato soup flavor vs like a more traditional salsa. He wouldn't get the spinach again, but it wasn't bad. He said they were very comforting. What a hidden gem across from the angle lake light rail stop. I stopped in and met David, the restaurant manager who treated me like a guest in his own home. I ordered two pupusas to go: one with loroco which I hadn't tried before. The pupusa hot off the griddle had a melty goodness that contrasted so well with the nutty and flowery taste of the loroco. Add a touch of curtido and house made red sauce and there was a wonderful balance. The spinach pupusa was equally as delicious and the portions for each were huge. $4.50 for each pupusa with the slaw and hot sauce was a deal. I was full for under $10. It's rare to find this type of deal in Seattle. The restaurant has been around for 16 years and I can see why. The ambiance is welcoming and I'm sure it's packed on a Friday night. David also provided me with chips and salsa while I waited for by my food and shared samples of insalata de fruta, jamaica, tamarindo and horchata which were almost full size drinks. All were nicely balanced and not too sweet other than the fruit salad drink. I think I tasted some pineapple. This was such a treat. The staff there were so nice and I heard lots of laughter. 10 stars. This is one of the best pupusas I've tasted and highly encourage supporting this local restaurant. read more

Amazing Salvadoran Mexican food. This is "Great" hole in the wall place. The chip was extra crispy thin and the salsa fresh with hint of spice. Homemade Horchata was refreshing not over cinnamonly like some places, you get 1 free refill that's always a plus. Usually other places charges for a refill. I came for their famous "Parrillada Tropical" it didn't disappoint. Everything on the plate was so flavorful, my love for this food has been on fire . The pork was crispy and juicy in inside, Carne Asada was medium tender and the chicken was cook well. I will definitely come back again. Just a 5 minute walk from the Residence Inn, this was the perfect spot and the street tacos were delicious while the lively salsa type music was so much fun we almost wanted to get up and dance to it! My husband likes really hot Chile (we're from New Mexico originally) and they gave him their special Habanero sauce which had him wiping his forehead with a BIG smile on his face! They even sent him back with a couple more little cups of the sauce he could put on his eggs at breakfast at our hotel the next morning! I love this place. My in laws came to visit and wanted to stay near Angle Lake, because the hotels were cheaper. This was inconvenient, but then we discovered Las Palmas. Where do I start. I'm so disappointed with this establishment. So the service deserves a 1 out of 5. I ordered pupusas for my girls and the taco combo plate for myself. The salsas that came with the tacos are trash.With the prices they're charging, and the rich Mexican culture, it's sad that they don't make their own. It came with onions which the menu didn't specify so I spent a while fishing those out. Anyway, they served me first so I had to wait about 8 min for my daughter's food to come out so by the time it did, my food was cold. Their pupusas didn't come with repollo or salsa so I had to wait another while for her to finally notice me so I could request it. She never came around to see if everything was good or if we needed anything. Flagged her down to see if we could get some water and when she brought it I asked if they usually bring it at the beginning of the meal and she said only if it's requested. Unique spot and not for everyone. But my experience was good. I was looking to catch a meal before hopping on the link light rail at angle lake for the Husky game. This place is pretty much across the street so very convenient. I went in on a Friday evening at about 5 PM and there were very few people in there. It looks like a place that does a night club vibe in the evenings, but also sections off a part for meal service. In addition to standard Mexican faire, it's also the family's food from El Salvador. We began to eat our food and the flavor was severely lacking. SEVERELY. I got the seafood soup 7 (or similar name) and it tasted like clam juice. No flavor. No seasoning. There was crab, clams, cucumber and a few other things but it tasted like absolutely air. My partner ordered the whole tilapia, which again looked beautiful but again, TASTED like nothing!!!! Even our 2 year old said the chicken strips from the kids menu was yucky. Food 1/5 for taste. I personally wouldn't return, or advise anyone I know to check it out.
