    Pupu Cheese & Loroco

This is a hole in the wall Salvadoran place. We strolled in an hour before closing on a Sunday and had to wait 5 min for a table You will not go wrong with the pupusas. We got the cheese and beans, cheese and Lorenzo, the pollo and the squash. Throw on some side salad and mildly hot sauce for a fresh experience Not knowing if the pupusas would be enough we also got the camarones Diablo which was fantastic We always wanted to try the chilaquiles and boy was it good. Overall I was pretty impressed with their food quality and their service They went out of their way to offer us aloo paratha instead of tortillas. The staff seems to be used to large crowds and did a fabulous job of being attentive to our needs. Kudos!

Stopped in for pork and cheese and chicken and cheese papusas. Food was freshly made and authentic. It felt like I was transported to El Salvador. Highly recommended!!

Simple, affordable pupusas in a very small, casual spot. The pupusas taste very similar to the ones I've had in San Salvador. And of course you have to eat it with the pickled vegetables. I usually like the ones filled with cheese, especially when it leaks a bit.

HIDDEN GEM ALERT With a serious craving for ethnic food, my friend and I headed to this spot in Auburn. Upon approach to this place, we were pleasantly surprised to find out that the restaurant was located in an industrial area AND we were the only English-speaking customers visiting that day (& the restaurant was packed!). Looks are deceiving, and the workers greeted my friend in Spanish. Having had a 9-day Spanish learning streak on Duolingo, I did my best to order for the both of us. I got 3/4 through before the only señorita that spoke English finished up our order. But hey, I got pretty darn far and we were able to enjoy these: - queso y chicharrón pupusa ($3.80): the cheese was melted to perfection and the pork was juicy/tender. - queso y calabaza pupusa ($3.80): the squash was splendid and the cheese was again, melted to perfection. - lengua taco ($2.75): perfecto! - aguas frescas/horchata ($3.50): creamy with great rice and cinnamon flavor. The next time I'm in Auburn, I wanna come back to try some more dishes. :)

The food and service here are great! Had a variety of Pupusas, three was a bit much for a lunch but they were a great value and I wanted to try them all. Great flavor and so yummy. I can't wait to come back and explore the menu more while supporting a small family establishment.

Geez, Can I just say best pupusas in town? Good portion size and definitely filling. Owners really nice and informative. Their rice dish with chicken is so good and tender with a pack of flavors. Definitely worth the trip heading down there. The menu can be slightly overwhelming for most who isn't hispanic. The one con I have to say is ordering multiple pupusas they don't separate the different ones so it can get confusing when you order with together.

Small hole in the wall place with warm freshly made to order pupusas. They are served with shredded pickled cabbage and red sauce. I wish the sauce was hotter. I also ordered chicken toraditos, which were wrapped with a thin corn tortilla and perfectly crunchy.

Hidden Alert - nestled in a semi-industrial corridor of Auburn, WA lies a truly delightful family-run Salvadoran and Mexican gem, Pupusería y Restaurante Belén. The hubs was jonesing for street tacos while my palate craved pupusas so this fit our cravings to a capital "T"! Once there we realized that their offerings also included house marinated chicharrón, crispy and juicy in perfect balance alongside yuca frita. My media naranja ordered tacos in pollo, puerco adobado and carne asada topped with a fresh squeeze of lime and homemade salsa roja - I just had to try the taco de lengua and a pupusa de loroco (a pre-colombian cultivar) y queso. Agua fresca "tutti frutti" and Jarritos de Tamarindo were the perfect thirst quenchers for our almuerzo big, barato y bueno.

4 1/2 out of 5. At this later stage of my life, I have discovered I love pupusas. I don't know who to hold responsible for this oversight, but when I identify the culprit, they are off my Christmas card list for life. Oh, sorry. This is a food review, isn't it. This is a small, clean, and busy restaurant with friendly service. Five of us ordered 13 pupusas. They came to the table hot and fresh. All of us were very pleased. I've only been to 4 establishments that serve these babies and all have been good. This one ranks with the best. The sauce and salad (cabbage/vinegar slaw) we topped these gems with were solid additions to the varied flavors. My favorite was the Queso Y Adobada (cheese and adobo pork). Highly recommend!

Good spot for traditional Salvadoran pupusas. Small hole in the wall family run and authentic. Food is good but a bit slow. Highly recommend plátanos fritos (fried plantains with sour cream and fresh cheese).

    Lengua huarache, chicken enchiladas, pupusas

The pupusas here are delicious! We only ordered two, the revueltas and chicharron y frijole, but we should have just gotten one of each kind! So good! What wasn't quite as good was their non-pupusas. We got lengua huarache and chicken enchiladas, but there wasn't anything special about either of them, and in fact the chicken was rather stringy. Their horchata was good; not too sweet, which is a huge bonus. JK wishes the spice flavor had been stronger, however. Definitely worth a stop if you find yourself in the Auburn area!

Stopped by here on our way back from hiking sheep lake and the food really hit the spot, especially the pupusas! Authentic and tasty. We also ordered the house fruit juice which had small pieces of apple and other fruit like sangria without the alcohol 10/10.

Pretty quick service. The food was amazing. Ordered three pupusas and two tacos and ate all of them and still wanted more. I would go back here everyday if I lived here.

Highly recommend the Chile quilles and pupusas. It's a bit of a wait because it's a smaller restaurant, but totally worth it.

The pupusas are on point. Loroco and cheese are the best, but the revueltas are also awesome.

Customer service is always great and I love their 3 tacos and rice and beans plate. I order the same thing every time and no change in quality over the last 6 years. I had a large appetite for tacos and I went alone today around 11am and was greeted with a nice smile as usual. If you order the tacos, get the steak and barbacoa. It's so good! They also serve you chips and salsa prior to your meal and what makes them different from others is that their chips are warm and the salsa has just the right spice level.

Our server was so sweet and attentive. We ordered chicken tamales and a queso and spinach pupusa and a queso and chicharron pupusa. We also went through two baskets of chips and salsa, which were divine. We both really enjoyed the food. The tamales are a bit expensive at 6.50 each, but they're a safe food for me with my food allergies. So to me it's worth it! There are potatoes and peppers in with the chicken. The chicken was flavored well. These are gluten free and dairy free My partner had the pupusas. The chicharron was his favorite of the two as it was very flavorful. He also really enjoyed the sauce which tastes like a tomato soup flavor vs like a more traditional salsa. He wouldn't get the spinach again, but it wasn't bad. He said they were very comforting. We will be back! $25 to leave full and content.
