"Cemita poblana" is a torta from Puebla. They come in at 4am to make the dough for the rolls, let it rise, and then bake them in-house. Huge delicious sandwich that can feed 2 easily. They serve beer in the bottle- Modelo, Negra, Tecate. 90% of the customers are Mexican, so I wouldn't listen to a gabacho's review about price. There is a private parking lot. Order at the counter, then seat yourself. Service is friendly, but English is limited. No frills but basic no-nonsense good food. Came here after seeing pictures of the sandwiches on yelp. These sandwiches are Huge! And pretty tasty. I had the cemita carne asada with 2 types of cheese (queso fresco & oaxaca?) & lots of it! there was little meat but seemed to be just enough for the huge sandwich, avacados and grilled onions with a choice of green salsa, chipotle or jalapenos. I had the green salsa which was just ok. I had it to go so by the time i got home the cheese was a little melted & not stringy. The bread was really good, with a crunchy crust. The next time I go I'll eat in & I'm sure the bread will be even better! read more

I love their food and I was a regular costumer before covid. I ordered some food to pick up in November last year and I notice that the old lady who gave me the order was not wearing a mask, she went into the kitchen and put on one but under her nose. Also another person who was sitting at the counter doing some paperwork was not wearing a mask. I returned last week to pick up an order and again, the lady in their 40' who took my order by the phone was not wearing a mask and she was sitting with a costumer in one the tables. That makes me think that if the people in front, in constant with the costumers are no applying safety regulations, what happen with the people in the kitchen that we don't see? I really want to support the local business but that makes me uncomfortable. I'm done and I'm not returning to that place read more

Hands down the best sandwiches in town. It's ten dollars for a cemita but they are giant. More than enough and we'll worth the price. The last time I had food this good was at my grandma's house in Mexico. I'm so glad I found this place. They make bread every morning and you can definitely tell. I've also tried their red enchiladas and rice and man oh man are you missing out. These people are not messing around. The Cemita de Pierna was loaded with ingredients: avocado slices, queso fresco, cabbage, pierna meat, and chipotle sauce. Also ordered a plate of rice and beans. The cemita sandwich was delicious. I was very surprised by its quality from the in-house baked cema bread to the portions of tasty pierna. I'm a lifelong connoisseur of tortas and pambazos. This restaurant introduced me to a Puebla original through and through. It was so hearty I took the other half to savor later. What won me over for the restaurant itself is the rice and beans. I loathe chains likeTaco Smell, Taco Slime, or El Fartito that serve you pre-cooked gunk from bags and cans. Unfortunately many of the family owned restaurants follow suit but not here. ANY Mexican restaurant that makes their own rice and beans (the latter with queso de borona, not cheddar) wins my praises. I am very glad we stopped by despite having eaten beforehand. The owner explained much of the menu. One of the things that caught my attention were the taco plates. This isn't a fast food restaurant that you can order any number of tacos you want. Rather they serve a plate of five tacos with the large-sized corn tortillas. I believe this is an underrated restauarant. Perhaps bc of the location and decor. Perhaps bc of the service to non-Spanish speaking customers. But the owner is patient and her cooking is fantastic. I'm confident based on the quality I'm assuming for all of the menu, the quantity I experienced with the cemita, and the owner's description of the tacos plate that customers who appreciate home cooked meals will find their placemat here! read more

Stumbled across this place, which advertises itself as "the best sandwich in town". Lofty aspirations, but they may have a point (especially as they are on the Des Moines side of the town line). Humble atmosphere with multiple media sources playing from all corners (a good sign). Seems to be family-run (a great sign). Cemitas are large hamburger shaped buns that are crispy and soft, but perfect for the Chicken Milanese sandwich that I ordered. Cemitas Tepeaca 2 (#1 is in Everett) apparently makes this bread themselves. The menu is extensive - great for return trips. The lovely owner only speaks Spanish, though another member of the family translated and we were honored that the owner continued to speak in Spanish to us. It was clear she was proud of her food, and what better way to communicate that than in the language of origin. She mentioned that their food is drawn from their hometown of Puebla, though I think they also feature some Oaxacan food. Regional Mexican cooking is special, and this place joins Tacos Sinaloa on the other side of I-5 and Taqueria la Estacion in Burien as my go-to places for great authentic and informal Mexican cuisine. read more

We ate in and split a cemita de pierna which was bomb af & had my torta loving husband questioning which he liked better. Seriously. My wife and I used to live in Puebla, Mexico and were excited to find this place. We came here for lunch and split a 'Cemita' sandwich with Milanesa (breaded beef). It was delicious and just as good as the ones we used to get in Puebla. The bread was excellent and authentic. It came with Quesillo, queso Pamela and plenty of avocado. The only thing missing was 'Papalo' (green leafy vegetable that goes in the sandwich that gives it a distinctive taste). The lady who took our order told us that they can't get it here in WA. On my way home I noticed is loaded with chipotle go back to the place tell the old lady mi order was wrong I want a new one with out the chipotle o jalapeño and she charge me for it. This place was recommended to me by 2 Poblanos. They said it is very authentic and it is Puebla in more ways than one. So my husband and I took our chance. They barely opened and the place looked empty. Abuelita was the lone server serving 1 customer. We sat down but we were ushered to look at the menu on the wall. I chose the Cemitas Milanesa while hubby ordered the one with the asada. The wait was minimal in the quiet restaurant. We asked for glass of water and were offered champorado and something else warm. We agreed only to realize that these extras were not free. The majestic sandwiches finally came. The fresh ingridients were showcased very well which rivaled the fresh cheese and the crispy milanesa. The bread was heaven. Even a croissant will be very jealous of this very nice, hot, warm bread (FYI- a frenchman is eating next to me and he commended the bread). All in all, the foox experience was amazing. The drawback is it's a huge sandwich so you'll take a doggy bag for sure. Also, abuela spoke mostly spanish. I understand a little spanish but this can somewhat problematic when you're ordering. Despite all these, I would recomnend sandwich lovers to try this place. I had the cemita de pierna (shredded leg meat sandwich) on homemade bread with two types of cheese, avocado and a moderately spicy sauce. It was a very large and very tasty sandwich. A friendly older lady runs the place. She doesn't speak English, so if you don't speak Spanish just point at the pictures of what you want. This is legit, authentic Mexican joint. The cook spoke no English but you can pick out a picture of the dish you want and point if you can't pronounce. And pick you own drink out of the standing cooler.
