Last Friday morning (9/23/22), my car wouldn't start on my driveway. It was a work day. I called my employer that I'll show up later due to this problem. I've literally called 6 auto shops in my area and Jake (business owner) was the only person that understood my situation and squeezed me in to the first in line on top of the other 10 cars they're currently servicing. The other 5 auto shops had less cars to service and wouldn't give me the time of day. I brought my car through a towing service and his team diagnosed my car. Jake gave me the option of hovering over the techs as they run their tests and despite me being a nuisance, all of them were not only friendly but also respectful as well as telling me what these tests mean and how it'll figure out the problem. All in all, it turns out there was internal engine damage. It's a 2008 Chevy Cobalt. I've owned the vehicle for 11 years and done zero maintenance (except for oil changes). Time for a new car. As I pulled out my wallet and asked how much I need to pay for the service, Jake hooked me up and said $0. $0!!! (Maybe due to sympathy or pity but I'll take it.) I'm just a stranger to him! I'm a Navy veteran. I've lived all over the country and has been to numerous auto shops and not one of them has treated me the same way as Jake and his team did. I now own a 2013 Nissan Juke. I will definitely come to Jake for his services in the future.

I had been here once before and had a great experience, so when my car's AT light went on…read moreunexpectedly one night I called them first thing the next morning to see if they could get it in. They said they could and gave me a timeline for working on the vehicle that matched my needs. While I appreciate them getting me in on short notice, they consistently over-promised and under-delivered on when they would be able to work on my vehicle. They were able to diagnose a couple of leaks that they thought were the problem and sent me photos to show me what they were looking at. In the past when I've left my car at this shop for work they sent over a detailed estimate before starting the work, but this time I only received the verbal estimate over the phone. I drive an old car, which isn't worth much, and I did let the person know that I wasn't interested in investing more in repairs than the vehicle is worth. As it was, the two leaks were just over $1K to fix, and I OK'd the work to begin. After fixing the first two leaks, they then came back and told me there was a third leak, which would require a more major repair to the transmission and they would have to have their transmission person (who wasn't there that weekend) send me an estimate the next day. While I understand that it's plausible that the third leak wasn't something they could have originally diagnosed, it felt a bit weird that the photo they used to show me the leak was one of the original photos they had sent before starting any work. If the leak was visible in that photo, I'm unclear why they couldn't have diagnosed it earlier. The added cost of this additional repair definitely tips the scales of worth-it/not-worth-it to repair vs replace this car, so I wish I had had all the information before deciding to make the initial repairs. Unfortunately, despite stabilizing the ATF level, fixing the leaks did not resolve the transmission issue. On a smaller scale, they didn't check or top up the tire pressure, which most mechanics I've gone to have done as a courtesy when working on my vehicle. The day after I picked up my car the tire pressure light went on, and when I checked my tires all four of them had low pressure. It's a small thing, but especially when dealing with expensive mechanical items like cars, the small things matter a lot in creating a sense of security and trust with your mechanic. They did mention that they were under new management since the last time I had been in, which may account for the different experiences.

Unfortunately, I left very disappointed with the overall quality of the work, communication, and the way my vehicle was handled. As someone currently training in the automotive field, I understand that mistakes happen and that certain repairs, especially diagnostics on a hybrid vehicle, can take additional time. However, I also understand the importance of inspecting your work and verifying that everything is correct before returning a customer's vehicle. My biggest concern was the alignment. The alignment sheet showed the measurements in the green, but when the vehicle was returned to me, the steering wheel was not properly centered. One of the main and noticeable reasons I requested the alignment was to have the vehicle tracking correctly with the steering wheel centered. I ended up having to bring the vehicle back a second time. There was some improvement afterward, but it still wasn't the level of workmanship or quality I expected from a dealership after spending approximately $3,000 on service. At that price point, I expected the vehicle to receive a higher level of attention and care. Communication was another major issue. I found myself having to call the dealership to find out whether work was being performed and what stage the vehicle was at, rather than receiving consistent updates from my service advisor. When a customer leaves a vehicle for multiple days and is spending a significant amount of money and time, I believe communication and follow-up should be a priority. I was also disappointed with the condition of my vehicle after service. This vehicle has been professionally detailed approximately once a week throughout the past year that I have owned it, so its exterior condition is something I pay close attention to. Unfortunately, I did not thoroughly inspect the exterior before leaving the dealership, which I acknowledge I should have done. At the same time, customers should reasonably expect their vehicle to be handled with care and returned in the condition in which it was received. Later, my detailing team pointed out new scratches/marks that I had not previously noticed. Fortunately, they were able to remove them, and some appeared to be consistent with surface contact rather than permanent damage. Because I did not personally witness how the marks occurred, I cannot say exactly what caused them. However, in automotive service, protective covers, fender covers, and other precautions are used when appropriate to minimize unnecessary contact with a customer's vehicle. Proper vehicle protection and care are basic parts of professional service procedures. Because I have automotive training, I understand why these precautions matter. However, a customer should not need automotive knowledge to expect this level of care. Regardless of whether someone knows what equipment or procedures are being used, every customer should be able to trust that their vehicle will be handled carefully and returned in the condition in which it was received. I chose to bring my vehicle to a Ford dealership because I expected dealership-level workmanship, attention to detail, and quality control. One of the most important things we are taught in automotive training is to verify our work before returning a vehicle to the road--not only for customer satisfaction, but also for safety. Unfortunately, I did not feel that level of attention was reflected in my experience. I gave the dealership a chance because I work approximately 10-hour shifts Monday through Saturday and then attend automotive classes for another four hours. Having professionals perform this work was supposed to save me time and give me peace of mind. Instead, I felt disappointed and disrespected by the overall experience and ended up having to make a return visit and do additional follow-up myself. I'm not writing this review to attack anyone. I'm sharing my experience because I believe customers spending their hard-earned money and time deserve good workmanship, clear communication, proper quality control, and proper care of their vehicles. I hope the dealership takes this feedback seriously and improves its inspection procedures, communication, and the care taken when handling customers' vehicles. Thank you.

They looked over our car carefully, took a video of the test they performed and shared it with us. He also explained to us what the test meant. Overall it was a bust and repairing it wasn't worth it but I appreciated the honesty and thorough evaluation. The garage itself has access through the alley, street entrance is pretty busy. We communicated via text and phone but during drop off and pick up the main guy wasn't around. He shares the garage with someone else and that person helped us when the main guy wasn't there (sorry I can't remember his name). Overall a good experience despite the fact that my car is officially dead!
