I was driving on a two-lane road in Kauai and I could see the road narrowed to one lane up ahead. I watched as the local drivers politely allowed one car to merge in front, and the next went in back. The car in front of me merged, and as I went to slide in behind the next car, a Speedi Shuttle driver sped up to close the gap between the cars and started shouting profanities through his open window. Horribly unprofessional and dangerous. The shuttle also had several dents in the back that speak to the driver's habits. First rude person I met in Hawaii! read more

We took Speedi Shuttle on the way to and from Honolulu airport. They came to pick us up right on time and the driver seemed nice enough to offer to pick us up from where we live, instead of in front of a nearby hotel we were directed to go to. However, it was a nightmare to get back from the airport back home. Despite making the reservation many days in advance, we had to wait for an hour to get onto the shuttle due to a long line. It seemed that they did not care what time was our reservation was, but rather boarding people in the order they arrived. After we got into the shuttle, while all the passengers were complaining how long we had to wait, we found out that one of the passengers was not on the reservation list at all, and he just decided to "take the shuttle." The driver decided to drive him all the way to his hotel before dropping off other passengers who made the reservation and paid the fee in advance. We will definitely NOT recommend SpeediShuttle to anyone, especially from the airport. If you must, take the shuttle on the way to the airport, and take a cab back home (or somewhere you can catch Uber if you live far). read more

I hate to say this because it's a local company:( but this is absolutely the worst shuttle service I have ever experienced. We are forced to use this "service" and I seriously use the term service loosely, to shuttle international students in from the airport. Many of the students have never traveled out of their country's and are in Hawaii for extended periods of time to learn English. I have experienced all but one driver (who was from here, actually since that guy I have never met a driver from here) to be extremely rude and abrasive most of the drivers drop the students off with their bags at the bottom of the road and tell them to find the house on their own because they don't know where it is?! Huh? I have had drivers pick the students up at the airport and leave them in Waikiki when I live miles from there and drop them off at a random location.... I recently had a female student that was 17 years old tell me that the shuttle driver asked how long she would be staying at my home and then asked for her phone number when she got out of the van. OMG On a more personal note speedishuttle was used by the airlines to deliver a lost bag that had its content confirmed when leaving the airport. However when the bag reached the house the computer was missing. We made a complaint with this company and the complaint went missing! The drivers are friendly, but this company is terrible with taking and holding reservations. We had round trip reservations, they were late to pick us up at the airport, which wasn't terrible. But they were an hour late picking us up for the return trip back to the airport. With a party of seven, two children under the age of 4...arriving late and rushing through the airport was terrible. Ordered this shuttle to take us to the airport. The driver was half an hour late showing up. We were getting picked up at my mom's place, which is in a gated community. The driver had trouble getting through the gate so we offered to drive down to open it ourselves. The gate is less than half a mile from the house and yet by the time we got to the gate the driver was nowhere to be seen. Out of options since the driver had come so late, we had to drive ourselves to the airport and park. Never have I experienced such atrocious service. read more

Used these guys to shuttle me to and from Waikiki from the airport. Nice bus, air conditioned, and nice drivers. They were right out front of where my flight let out when I arrived. I really appreciated that since it was my first trip to Hawaii. Pick up time was a little early on the return trip. My main complaint is the price. As a solo traveler and having physical challenges, I have used Speedi Shuttle as my go-to transportation from airport to hotel when I'm in Hawaii. There is always someone waiting for me in the baggage area to help me with my luggage and escort me to the transportation area. The drivers are courteous and always have the aloha spirit that immediately makes me feel welcome. It says on the reservation don't leave the baggage area and someone will pick us up. Waited and no one came. Called and no one was even dispatched to pick us up. The lady on the phone put me on hold then after a few minutes asked us to go to the other end of the airport where a driver was picking up another passenger.. She then tells us to exit on the left which we did, no shuttle. Decided to ask airport security and he told us we should have exited to the right. The lady on the phone asked me if I could yell out the drivers name. Tired from a long early flight, walking from one end to the other end of the airport but ok just so we can get to out hotel. No luck, no shuttle and no driver. Still on the phone talking to the dispatcher who's talking to another lady yelling that the driver and shuttle were not at the stop. This dispatcher needs to be more professional. Finally after a long wait the driver came, a misunderstanding between the driver and dispatcher at our expense. The driver was nice and that was the only good thing about this experience. Now comes the having to go back to the airport. Started calling at 9am to make sure someone picks us up. The number seems to be disconnected, after multiple attempts called worldstar. The dispatch for worldstar is nicer and more professional. Told her I've been calling and the number seems to be disconnected. She had to look for our reservation and told me that the driver came to pick us up already more than 4 hours before our flight. Huh? Told her it says 3 hours, who would want to go to the airport 4 to 5 hours before their flight esp for domestic? She said she'll reach out to Speedi and then asked us to get ready as the driver is on his way. An hour later no driver even showed up. Took another 6 to 7 calls to worldstar and finally the same lady answered and she couldn't get in touch with them either. She asked us to take a cab after waiting almost an hour and will send southwest a note to refund our money. DONT USE SPEEDI! THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM. I AM GIVING WORLDSTAR THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT BUT THEY SHOULD USE ANOTHER THIRD PARTY. IF YOU WANT THE HASSLE AND NOT GET PICKED UP THEN THIS COMPANY IS IT. I am not in the habit of leaving reviews and tend to give lots of companies the benefit of the doubt (particularly given the complications of COVID), but the service we received from SpeediShuttle was beyond appalling. We had 4 shuttles booked over a month in advance for our 5 night stay in Kauai and 2 of the shuttles failed to show up. One time they left us stranded at the airport for over an hour and the other nearly caused us to miss our return flight when they failed to pick us up from our hotel. First off, the greeter at the airport is running the whole operation out of a composition notebook. No excel sheet with confirmation numbers, nothing. So really should not have been surprised when later in the week they just simply forgot about us. Failed shuttle number 1- my boyfriend and I were lucky enough to get a rental car for 3 days during our trip and needed to drop it back off at the airport. We had booked a shuttle to take us back to our hotel once we dropped it off. I dropped off the car at 8:45pm with a shuttle scheduled for 8:55pm. 9:00pm, NO SHUTTLE, still at airport. No call from the driver asking if I'm here, nothing. So I call the number on the reservation and they accused me of not being at the airport. Then they informed me that all the shuttles had stopped for the evening. It took an hour to secure a Lyft back to the hotel when I thought I was well prepared with transportation (clearly I was not). Luckily I brought my boyfriend with me so I wasn't stranded at the airport alone at night. Failed shuttle number 2- I took failed shuttle 1 as a fluke and had more confidence in our shuttle back to the airport a few days later. I even received a confirmation email with a pickup time at our resort and everything. Checked out of our hotel, and am now waiting on the curb 10 min before the pickup time. Pick up time comes and goes, no shuttle. Again, call the company to make sure the shuttle is coming, they attempt to call the driver, BUT FAILED TO GET A HOLD OF THEIR OWN DRIVER. We were then given a personal number to call in case the shuttle did not arrive in the next ten minutes. It's now 30 minutes past our scheduled pickup time and we are starting to get nervous given how crowded we expect the airport to be. We called the personal number twice with no answer, call the company line and wait on hold, finally talk to some one who has no update on the drivers location. We had them give us a refund for which they did with little to no remorse or apology. Called a Lyft and made it to the airport and by the time we made it through security we had only 10 minutes before boarding began. TL;DR- to quote another review, the company name NoShuttle more accurately describes our experience. On top of all that we paid $30 to receive lei's upon our arrival that we never received. Also, come to find out from our Lyft driver on the ride to the airport, SpeediShuttle had failed to renew their airport permits to pick up and drop off passengers. Considering their ent ire business model relies on having that permit, they may want to figure that one out. read more

Due to the rental car shortage and wanting to have a care available when ever we are there, we shipped our other car before we left so we scheduled with speedi shuttle to pick us up and drop us off at the airport. The reservation is did on the phone because the computer system would not let me put in our address, but the lady was so nice and helpful. Our driver arriving was already there waiting for us and was very welcoming and friendly. Leaving the driver arrives early which was great because TSA was way overwhelmed. Don't get suckered into this horrible experience. This company does not know the meaning of Aloha, and certainly doesn't do business with pono. Do not let this company be your first and/or last impression of our beautiful people and islands. Arranged for pick up from the HNL Commuter Terminal at 6pm, which I was supposed to be met at baggage claim upon arrival. After about 10 minutes I called from the airport provided phones for ground transportation. After about 10 minutes on hold I was told my shuttle was delayed at the main terminal - "stay where you are and the shuttle will be there in 10 minutes". I literally moved 10 feet from the "Location #1" phone banks that I called from, not one single speedi shuttle went by. I called again 20 minutes after the first phone call (now 30 minutes from when I landed)... was put on a hold without speaking to a soul -- after about 5 minutes of holding I was told to look for a "BLUE SHUTTLE with whatever car # on it (obviously don't remember now)." Waited another 20 minutes and NOTHING -- not one shuttle. It has now been almost an hour, and I'm running late for the dinner I am supposed to be attending. I call again, and again on hold. Now I'm told that they have all shown up and I'm not there... I'm furious. The security lady (about 80 years old) is laughing and says to me "no locals use them, they are horrible". She takes the phone from me and starts yelling at the operator telling them to stop lying to me -- she has been there the entire time and no shuttle has stopped by. 10 minutes later, and over 1 hr 15min after I land they finally show up. The guy is a jackass, and makes a "stop" at another terminal to drop off a baby seat, he takes it out, then has a cigarette with six other guys, then gets back in the car and finally drives me to my destination. I missed half of my dinner I was supposed to be at the first night, and obviously not very happy. I call to cancel my return trip with them the day before, since it was a 6am flight and they wanted to pick me up at 3:45am, plus I was so displeased with their service. I'm told they canceled my return trip. At 4:30am they call my hotel room and say they are here to pick me up... really? first, I canceled; second, you're 45 minutes late!!! I happily spent the $50 for a cab trip direct from Waikiki including a generous tip instead. read more

I knew about this service before I even touched down at the airport in Honolulu. But I opted for the taxi. I did know how far it was to the hotel but the price was higher than I would have liked. Which is one of the main reasons I gave this service a shot. You give them a call at least 24hrs in advance of when you'd like to be picked up at a location. In my error, I did it under 15 hours and they were still able to accommodate me since my flight was the very next day. I think that is great service personally although I would NOT recommend you to push the less than 24hr advance booking policy on a whim. They charge the fees + tips on your credit card. Upon pick-up they address you by surname...Mr./Mrs./Ms... The service was rather friendly once getting in the van. The ride was smooth as well. The best part was the hassle free pick-up service in front of our hotel (Hyatt Regency at Waikiki Beach). Some additional notes - 1) The van did run a little late but I only found out because I couldn't spot the van. 2) The location where this service picks you up from is also home to a lot of other services that picks up and drops off people so you have to sober/on point in knowing which van is yours. 3) There van is stated as green but I'd describe it as a dark turquoise. Just to play it safe, before getting on I'd ask the driver. Mahalo. read more

SpeediShuttle worked for 2 of us leaving to the airport at 5:00 a.m. on Sat. 4/14/12; I read the reviews online and was a bit skeptical but decided to give it a try.. I know a neighbor that works for them and he was always positive about his work. Driver arrives early and was waiting in the front of my home in Kamehameha Heights at 4:55 a.m. and we got to the airport in 15 minutes. I was quoted $13 for 2; I tipped the driver $5; WOW~ under $20 for personalized door to curb shuttle in a spacious and clean Mercedes Sprinter. It's been hit and miss with taxi services to the airport so early in the morning; at least I know there's no smoke and body odor smell from these newer SpeediShuttles buses. My neighbor who travels inter island regularly was impressed and may give them a try; he normally pays $20-$25 (including tip) for a taxi. read more

We scheduled, paid for and cancelled our SpeediShuttle reservation from the airport to our hotel over 6 weeks ago. We still haven't received our refund and have only received the run around treatment from SpeediShuttle's customer service and accounting department. A refund should never take this long to be returned. SpeediShuttle, we would love to speak with someone in accounting that can actually help us. This is embarrassing. read more

Took this shuttle from the airport and back to the airport. By phone and face-to-face the staff are friendly and informative. Prices are cheaper than a taxi but a bit more expensive than other shuttles. However, the shuttles are CLEAN, COMFORTABLE and don't smell like an ashtray. Best of all, the shuttle was TIMELY. In fact, on the return trip, he was early and since we were early, the entire trip ran early. It was great. I also found the staff to be efficient in their process, and it was so nice to see a business with an effective process that everyone was trained on. I highly recommend this shuttle for airport transport. I am not sure why the rating is so low as the other people in the van seemed just as happy and we had a lovely conversation with the other riders both trips. read more

Worst experience ever! Had to stand around for over an hour at the airport upon arrival as they were so disorganized and had to find an extra shuttle for us and two other couples. we were told to call the day before to confirm our return, which took an entire day just to connect, and were told they were no longer going to service princeville area, essentially leaving us stranded. when we called Viator (the company that manages speedishuttle we were given no other solutions either as all of their companies were already booked. Spent nearly the whole last day calling around trying to find transportation to airport but ALL rental cars, taxis, shuttles were booked. Eventually found ONE company that could drive us but cost us nearly $300. terrible company and a horrible way to treat other human beings. Avoid speedI shuttle and viator at all costs! read more

Lots of negative reviews for Speedi and I can't speak for their experiences, but these guys were great for me. Had to make a last minute 4am trip to the airport from Waikiki, and they took my reservation within the 12 hour mark. Literally 1/3 the price of every other shuttle I looked into. WILL NOT USE SPEEDI AGAIN! With shared ride services, there are trade offs, no problem there. However, when it comes to customer service, the "manager" at HNL, some guy named Dion Nelson, wrote the book about not caring. Here's the sequence: - Went to wrong pickup location based on conversation with Speedi scheduler. . - No pick up since we were in the wrong spot (Hilton HV has more than one pick up area). - Informed by helpful Speedi driver in shuttle area (though the wrong area for "airport" pick up) who called Speedi and was told to tell me to get a cab and Speedi would reimburse me. - Once at the airport, finally found the Speedi counter; personnel were extremely empathetic but they needed to call the "manager". - Interrogation by manager, who commented "...that driver wasn't authorized to offer compensation for the taxi fare". WTF! - Everything I said was questioned. No compensation or refund. No apologies, no "I'm sorry", just "I feel apologetic". - I was not even fully refunded for the taxi ride! - The "conversation" rudely ended when he said "Don't you have a plane to catch..." Speedi should be embarrassed to hire people that do not care to even listen to a customer. I intend to reach out to their CEO Cecil Morton to let him know how his "brand" is being represented. If you're staying at a major Hotel or live in the Waikiki area; SpeediShuttle is perfect. I've traveled all over the world; *Skeptical- One time, in Rome Italy, my luggage was held hostage by a Gypsi Cab driver because he wanted 100 Euro's before I got off the car. When I first saw SpeediShuttle, I was a very skeptical about their service. But I was jaded from this previous bad experience. *Easy Payment - At the SpeediShuttle, you pay before you get on the shuttle; All major credit cards and, of course, cash are accepted. *Uniforms - All of the workers are easily recognizable because the women are wearing Hawaiian prints on Mumu's with Kukui nut lei's and the men are wearing the typical Hawaiian Aloha Shirts. *Safety - Hawaii is popular because it is so safe. Obviously there are beaches that are comparable to Waikiki from here to Xcaret in Cancun, however, the safety and security that is provided in an English speaking town like Honolulu and the United States is "incomparable" to anywhere in the world. *Direct- Hawaii is so Aloha and I fell in love with the SpeediShuttle because not only was it directly going to Waikiki and I live in the area, but it was going out every 15 minutes. *Disclaimer- If you're a tourist who is staying at the Disney Resort, that is not Waikiki. That is in the opposite direction of Waikiki about 40 minutes with traffic. You better arrange transportation with the Disney Resort. Don't come in at an odd hour or you'll end up paying 70 dollars one way for your transportation with SpeediShuttle. You can't blame SpeediShuttle; Disney is one of about 3 hotels in the city of Ko'Olina. *Friendly Drivers- In any case, my driver's name was Dennis and he was very quiet because I had just flown back from New York on a non-direct flight and it was very early in the morning. I used them when i went on vacation. I got picked up in Ewa Beach. The driver was right on time. 5 minutes on our way too the airport I was thinking "did i lock the front door?" You know how it is when you go on vacation. There's a million things going in your head. The driver offered to turn around and take us back home to check the front door. On the return flight they were right on time, waiting for us at baggage claim. We walked out and within minutes were in our shuttle on the way back home. On the way home i commented how humid it was in Hawaii, having just got back from Canada. The driver then cranked up the AC for me. It felt good. SpeediShuttle went above and beyond for me. The experience could not have been any better. I highly recommend them to anyone going on vacation or a trip to Las Vegas. read more

I had to give an update. Turns out we only had our beginners luck with our first driver. We did some island hopping so got to use them several times this trip The rest of the rides we had with them were more on the lousy side. Each time with either pick up or drop of was on average about 20-30 min late. Yelps be aware! Hold on to your receipt and constantly call in and check up with them! --------------------------------------------------- Speedi shuttle round trip deal is the way to go. Super friendly staff and it won't put a dent in your wallet like the taxi services here ! We were shocked by how expensive the taxis are in Waikiki and we are from NYC! This review is for the Speedi-shuttle on Kauai. I couldnt find any reviews on this service for Kauai and like another reviewer almost didnt book because of the bad reviews from Maui. However, there arent that many choices for Kauai, especially that serve non-tourist areas. I was staying with family in Kalaheo and didnt really want to spend alot on a taxi if I didnt have to. So I took a chance and have to say that the service was great! Was really easy to book online and get a firm price quote. They also called to confirm the day before. The driver (Roxanne) was able to find the property off a private road without calling for special instructions and maneuvered the "van/bus" nicely up and down some steep hills. She was on time (about 10 mins early) and very pleasant. Although I booked the shared shuttle price, I was lucky that there were no additional passengers so didnt have to make any additional stops. Great customer service at a decent price! I would absolutely use them again if the need arose. For now giving 4 stars since this was only a one time experience. If the experience is consistent, I would upgrade to 5 stars! read more
