I highly recommend Spectrum7. Darren helped us to run ethernet cables, and his work is top-notch. Thank you Darren!

We made an appointment with Darren, and drove an hour after leaving work to meet him who never even showed up for th appointment. We called him upon arriving on the job site, and he said he was going to contact us because he's too busy and can't make it to the appointment. He is completely unprofessional and unreliable. I would not recommend having someone who is unreliable, work on your security cameras or Interne. if they disappear like they did with us, you are stuck with no one to turn to! Look somewhere else! read more

Our new home was built with no ethernet or access points upstairs. I reached out to several local companies, most of which were low voltage electricians. They relayed they don't work with home networking. Luckily, I found Darren with Spectrum7 Communications and he saved the day! Not only the day, but he saved us a lot of money compared to the competition. From the very beginning, he was very professional, knowledgeable, and respectful. He came out and did a free quote and suggested the best solution for our needs. Communication was great throughout the process. Darren was on time for the installation and provided all required materials/cables. He routed/installed new Cat6 cable from the downstairs access point to the upstairs network panel. From there, he routed additional cables to the office via the attic and installed a new ethernet outlet. He did a phenomenal job and was very neat. Our Internet speeds went up exponentially to 900+ as opposed to under 300 when we were limited to wifi. It's a night and day difference. It is easily recognizable that Darren takes pride in his work and it shows. It was a pleasure working with this business and we will be back for any future upgrade needs. If you are searching for someone to set up your home/business network, give Darren and Spectrum7 a chance. You won't regret it! read more

Darren did a good job installing my home theater wiring and Ethernet around the house. It was done well and fair priced.

I needed Cat 6 drop to finish hard wiring my last Eero Pro network hub. Darren is awesome! Darren communicates, professional, on time, experienced, and responsive. He did the job and everything works great! I have Cat 5 downstairs and at some point I'll want to upgrade to Cat 6 and I'm glad I know who to call. If you have a job and need cable run or any of his other services, put Spectrum 7 at the top of your list! Thanks again Darren read more

Reached out to multiple vendors for quotes on 5 ethernet drops and received a very fair and competitive quote from Spectrum7. Darren responded quickly and accurately to all of my questions concerning quality and requirements for the CAT6A cabling. He arrived right on time and was extremely professional and thorough with his installation. Being in IT I have seen dozens of technicians do drops and I can say he ranks among the best I have seen and worked with. I will be hiring him again to do TV mounts and HDMI cable swaps soon. Do not bother going anywhere else, this guy is the man in the Sacramento region. Extremely professional and thorough, used the highest quality components (without me asking), no corners cut and no excuses or sneaky moves on pricing during / after the job. 5/5 customer for life and referred him to multiple co-workers and friends already. Do not hassle him for the price, he is extremely competitive for the quality & knowledge he brings. read more

We needed to drop a couple of Ethernet Cables (from Central Panel through Attic) and add a new wall jack in an area without wired Ethernet access. I found Darren on Yelp and called on a Saturday, after hours, expecting to leave a message. But, he answered and gave me a quote & an appointment (on Wednesday). He is professional (e.g., called to check if he can be a little bit early that morning) and knowledgeable. He went up to the attic and discovered that the wall we wanted to drop the cables onto was not accessible (the HVAC unit was taking up the whole area, end to end). He worked with us to figure out a way to get around the issue and gave us the Ethernet connection we wanted. He charged the quoted amount in spite of the extra time that took to solve the unanticipated problem. read more

I happened across Darren by seeing so many 5 star reviews on Yelp and decided I would request his help with updating my ethernet wiring for a recently purchased home. I made sure to send him pictures and let him know the home was a raised foundation and we needed someone who was willing to go into the crawl space to update the lines. He sent me some initial pricing and set a time and date to complete the work. All the work completed by Darren was as expected by the reviews but I was shocked that he did all the work himself as a one-man show. Not only did Darren complete all the work in a timely, professional manner but he also took the time to update me when he had to alter plans for the job due to unknown circumstances (crawl space availability and aesthetically pleasing placement of wiring). Darren even went out of his way to connect an old ethernet line with the updated work because "it wasn't right to just leave it not working." He went above and beyond my expectations and I honestly felt he did not charge enough for the work he did. My hope is that Darren continues to get jobs at the rate and frequency that he does, so he can finally expand and get some more help on these jobs. Anyone considering whether to use Darren should just read all the reviews, which only scratch the surface of the personal nature of his work and his commitment to customer service. read more

I am very grateful to Darren and Randy of Spectrum7 Communications. My project was quite large in scale. Even though my household used wifi reliably for years without issue, what finally made us want to put in ethernet wiring was the prospect of putting up some IP cameras. PoE was the way to go, that meant I needed ethernet runs. While planning out the locations, the scope of the job quickly grew to also include ethernet jacks in various rooms. In total, I needed 17 ethernet runs, cameras mounted and a coax run to relocate my cable modem. I shopped around and got a range of quotes, everything from "guy-who-knows-a-guy" for suspiciously cheap, to full-service companies that usually cater to businesses and frankly quoted some absurd figures. Finally, I found and contacted Spectrum7 through Yelp. Darren was great to work with and had great communication. He immediately provided a ballpark figure based only on a text description of the project. Due to timing and distance, an in-person inspection/estimate wasn't practical. Being very flexible and reasonable, Darren jumped into a Zoom call with me to see the property, narrow down the cost and schedule a date. I'll be the first to admit that we were not easy customers. Coming from DIY and IT backgrounds, we had a lot of detailed questions and specifications about the project. We wanted to know everything from the AWG of the Cat6 being used, to the brand of keystones/wallplates. We also requested specifically that J-hooks be used under the house and asked for pictures to verify. Darren was incredibly professional and accommodating of all our specific requests, with a truly genuine customer-first attitude. On the big day, Darren and Randy arrived punctually and got straight to work. I was worried that this much wiring would require multiple days, especially when there were multiple speed bumps that often come when dealing with older construction. Through their speed, focus, experience and determination, they got the whole project done in 1 very long day. I am so impressed with how much work they did and the tireless effort and skill with which they did it. My new network setup is running flawlessly, and I whole-heartedly recommend Spectrum7 to anyone with a networking project. Darren is amazing at his craft, uses high quality components and can take on projects big or small at a very reasonable price. Thank you again, Darren and Randy. read more

Spectrum7 Communications - Fully wired home network, made possible by Spectrum7 - Home Automation Near Me

Darren is the best. I called him on a Saturday morning at 9AM after my network went down, he had it fixed by 12 noon the same day.

Darren was punctual and thorough. What he quoted me on the phone was the final price. Only nitpicks are that he brought a vacuum inside but didn't use it, and that the cables on the two wall plates were in different orders (top jack on one plate fed the bottom on the other). Easy problems for me to fix, so I'm satisfied. Would hire again. read more

Darren was quick to respond for my request to help us mount new security cameras. He also helped me pick out the right system. He worked really hard and mounted 5 cameras with precision and esthetics. He also got the monitor up and running and we couldn't be happier. Thank you Darren for all your hard work, you are a very kind person. read more

We've noticed some issues with our home networking setup (a few of our wired connections weren't operating correctly), so I contacted Spectrum 7 a few months ago. Darren sent along a few tips for me to check on my own before we set up a time for him to swing by. After he tested some of the ethernet jacks (in constant use these days due to work/school from home) extensively, he rewired most of them, getting them back to their expected speeds. I was very happy with his service; he worked quickly and efficiently to do as much as he could before he had to leave. I plan to turn to him for future networking questions that I can't figure out on my own. read more

Darren and his son arrived on time, were no nonsense about the work, making sure everything was perfect. They removed an 11.1 theater system, 3 TV's from the wall and a few home automation items from my rental, which they then packed up for moving in my provided boxes. I would recommend them fully, in a heartbeat, to anyone that wants honest, efficient, and fantastic service. The experience was top notch! read more

Another happy customer here. Darren mounted a Tv and installed a network in our house. He was easy to communicate with, knowledgeable, efficient and cleaned up spotlessly before he left. We will use him again - there is no reason to use anyone else. read more

Darren is great, I cannot recommend him enough. He is super professional, knows his trade well and is here for you as the customer. I cannot recommend him enough to do our install for ethernet. It was a tricky install in some parts but Darren walked me though my options and really took care of me like it was his own home. You are in great hands with Darren. I will note there are a run on parts (switch plates etc) so if you have a specific decor in mind for your ethernet plates I would recommend getting those a head of time, in case your local hardware store is out. Also will save Darren the trip to the store just in case. read more

I sent a requested to get a quotation to install security camera. Several companies replied and we chat online about details , some compnay came and look at the job and gave us a quote. This compnay was the only one that asked for $50 charge to come and take a look at The job !?! Really !? I did not give them the project anyway but for sure it is not a good customer service. Good luck read more

Darren is reliable, reasonable, and - despite being very good at what he does - humble beyond compare! We were lucky to have our request for assistance forwarded to Spectrum7 given a previous attempt at getting estimates for our project and *months* of waiting in multiple queues; the time from submitting the details to everything being completed was only a week - and the needed effort was expended within 24 hours of an in-person estimate. Indeed, there was even a small bit of serendipity to our appointment - as a busy day on both ends of things meant a slight shift in appointment time... but we were kept appraised via Yelp Messaging & couldn't be happier with the results. All in all a *very* good experience; choosing to not invest in an estimate would almost be crazy. read more

Darren from Spectrum7 is an absolute professional. I contacted Spectrum7 for installing 3 Ethernet drops in our townhome. Darren was prompt in responding and came out to inspect the house and gave me a detailed analysis of how he was going to approach the job. He quoted me a fair price, and furthermore when he arrived to do the installation, he was quick, efficient and even presented me with a couple of options when he ran into issues running the cable down from the attic. He came with all the necessary equipment, and routed all the cables neatly, zip tied them where necessary. Finally, he terminated them in a patch panel in the garage. I am very pleased with the final result and would wholeheartedly recommend Darren and Spectrum7 for any networking job you may need! read more

Darren responded promptly to my initial request via Yelp, gave me a reasonable quote, and showed up for his appointment 15 minutes ahead of schedule. He understood exactly what was necessary to replace a video surveillance cable that had been damaged in our attic and placed the new higher-quality cat6a cable higher up in the rafters. In connecting the new cable to the camera, he carefully caulked the opening into the attic then finished the installation under the eave by neatly tacking down the new cable. His final price was exactly as quoted (and he even included the new cable), he was efficient, his installation was professional, and he cleaned his work site. I strongly recommend Spectrum7 Communications and will call him for any future cable work I need to have done. read more

Darren just finished a job for me today and I couldn't be happier with the result. Prices are very competitive. It was a very quick process to go from getting a quote to getting my cat6 set up. Darren was fantastic with my camera installation project. I was particular about the camera location and the type of equipment used. I chatted with Darren first, sent him a PDF proposal, and he was able to execute the project professionally. I provided the Ubiquiti switch to power 4 Unifi PoE cameras, and the installation came out very clean. Wires are well hidden and tucked on the outside while maintaining visually pleasing cabling inside. Of all the individuals I reached out to, Darren was the ONLY one who itemized his costs, which I greatly appreciated. Paying him was even a breeze. He was truly professional, patient, and polite throughout the entire process. Thank you, Darren! I look forward to our next projects. read more

Darren quickly responded to my inquiry for installing two Cat6 Ethernet ports, running 50+ feet per cable. Darren converted existing phone lines to ethernet to achieve a 1Gbps speed. Previously the lines were split between 1 phone and 1 ethernet which only supports 100 Mbps. He also cleaned up the panel wiring to make it less crammed. After completion some rooms weren't getting top internet speeds so he changed all the RJ45 plugs on both ends of the ethernet network cable so the connection would be new and not worn and that resulted in top speeds in all rooms. I highly recommend Darren for any networking needs, he knows his trade well, I am very impressed with his professionalism and expertise. I will use his services for my next project without hesitation. Thanks Darren. read more

We had Darren solve our network ethernet upstairs problem. We've been struggling for months with everyone working at home and kids going to school. Although we have wifi, it's just not fast enough or as reliable upstairs. Darren surveyed our house, where our outlets were, exterior walls, and helped solve our internet problem. He took the time to think it through, clearly communicate our obstacles, a couple of options, and ultimately the perfect solution. We ran coax and ethernet from our cable modem downstairs to upstairs rooms and cat6 ethernet outlets in the rooms upstairs. Now we have fast ethernet exactly where we need it in the house. Darren came up with a solution and completed the work the same day. He was very professional, knows what he's doing, and affordable. He's also a nice guy. I would highly recommend Darren from Spectrum7 Communications for any low voltage wiring project. So glad we found him. read more

Darren was fantastic. He came out for a consultation and after going up in the attic and the garage he realized our initial plan wasn't going to work so we adjusted it to do an exterior run of a cat6 cable to my home office with a wall plate going through the exterior drywall. He was very organized and communicative throughout the process. I have to download a lot of large files for work and the speed improvements over wifi have literally saved me hours each week. I wish I had looked up Darren and Spectrum 7 much sooner! Highly recommended and will be looking up Darren for any future Home Networking/IT needs! read more

Did a great job installing my cameras. He was on-time and was good with his communication. Will definitely recommend to others.

Darren is a professional by all means and he'll walk you thru solving your puzzle. We were lucky to have him come out and install a complex security camera system with over 3500sqft to work with. I must say we were impressed with Darren's detailed orientation technics as he took his time to design the wiring route using pvc and hiding the wires. The professionally installed security camera system looks great. Furthermore, Darren took his time to explain the Ethernet wiring in our house and pointed out our house was already pre wired and all he needed to do is activate each port. We are delighted to have him come back again to complete this piece as well. We would highly recommend Darren's work and as a veteran, support him as a local small business. Needed to get 5 cameras out of a set of 8 installed. These cameras where also unique with the type of connector they used.
