I highly recommend Alan and Watch Dog Security! I spent a lot of time researching alarm systems and contacted a good number of companies to find someone who could update my 25-year-old home alarm system while integrating both new wireless sensors and my existing hardwired contacts into a new cellular control panel. Only one other company, which was not locally owned and was more expensive, had the skills and willingness to build and install the type of system I wanted. Alan was fantastic from start to finish. He was responsive, professional, knowledgeable, and very transparent about pricing and monitoring options. There were no high-pressure sales tactics or gimmicks, just honest guidance and quality work. He completed the installation promptly, took the time to teach us how to use the new system, and even checked in afterward to make sure everything was working well. I appreciated his straightforward approach and the quality of the work. I would definitely recommend Watch Dog Security to anyone looking for a reliable local alarm company. read more

I have a much better update to post. Alan came through all the way. He troubleshooted the original camera, bought a new one that also didn't work, He then researched and found a much better product, installed it and made sure everything was perfect. He spent hours on this, all included in the original quote. This is my update: Installation: great, Follow-up: great read more

We had a camera and monitor installed in our office lobby by Alan from Watchdog Security. He handled the entire job solo... professional, clearly knew the systems inside and out, and got it done efficiently. Pricing was competitive too. Would recommend them for anyone needing a straightforward, well-executed install. read more

My issue wasn't with the camera, my issue was with the installation. Doesn't matter where the camera itself came from. It's the work that was done by the technician. Ended up reaching out to a different company and within five minutes and a couple snips the problem was solved. Thanks for nothing. read more

Alan was awesome to work with. I needed a full security system installed on very short notice after a scary and stressful situation, he and his employee Thomas were very understanding of the circumstances as well as the urgency, and installed everything inside and outside thoroughly in a few hours. Watchdog Security showed great respect to my home, family and pets while they were here and explained how to use their security equipment and system in great detail to us. Watchdog Security provided more value than what we paid for. I am very satisfied with Alan and his team, and thanks to them I finally feel that I can have peace of mind. If you're looking for a serious high tech, wired security system I strongly recommend Watchdog Security. read more

Lack of communication. They don't seem to care about their business or their customers. My experience communicating with them was very unpleasant and unprofessional. They need to improve their customer service and learn how to communicate with and properly serve their clients. read more

Alan is a cool dude. Good communication. Fair price. Works fast. No complaints. Exactly what you'd want from a security installation.

Watchdog installed my Lorex cameras for my home. Alan and his team were puntual, professional and cleanup was thorough.

I called Alan for a estimate to re wire my Lorex security system because I thought the wiring wasn't any good due to no picture so he asked me to send him some photos of the back of my system and the wires. he called me back right away and said that it was a power problem. I had an extra AC pack that goes with the system so I plugged it in and it worked great. Alan could have charged me to come out and charged me for the service but was honest and said it may be a simple fix. I will give all my future business to this company read more

Watchdog Security installed an NVR Security Camera bundle at my home and all I can say is wow! Not only did they provide the most reasonable estimate out of several contractors, Alan went above and beyond, not only to ensure a very clean install, but also took the time to ensure the features were all working and I was comfortable operating the software. I highly recommend Watchdog Security. read more

Alan the owner of Watchdog Security responded to our project request within a minute of posting on Yelp. We called him right away yesterday morning & he came out later on the same day to check our annoying old alarm that was frozen & kept beeping from out of the blue starting from the day before. He made a couple suggestions on what to do & we decided to go with the newer better model which worked out perfectly for us. He came out the following day which was a Saturday & he was done in an hour. He's competent, rates were very reasonable & very pleasant to work with. He can set these alarms up in his sleep as he has done this type of service for the past 18 years. He took care of our problem with excellence. We highly recommend him! If you need someone for this alarm issue don't hesitate to call him! We live in Elk Grove so we were happy that he can service us in our own home locally! Thank you so much Alan for your fast & awesome service! read more

I am so pleased with the job done by Thomas Lee. He removed my old camera that was poorly installed by the previous technician. He did the job with precision. I wish I could have found him earlier. I will recommend him to my friends anytime. read more

We had new windows installed in our home and the existing alarm system had to be reconnected. Alan fixed all the wires and installed new sensors and magnets for each window and the sliding glass patio door as well. Alan also had to rewire the alarm box in the closet to make everything work with the original keypad. Alan did an excellent job and we highly recommend his services! read more

Project: Installation of a Eufy Smart Video Doorbell & Smart Lock, door handle, and Homebase-3. Location: Elk Grove, CA Response: Alan, the owner of Watchdog Security responded within minutes to my project submission request. He provided his phone number, so I called Alan to discuss the project. I provided him with the model numbers of the devices, and we discussed the project. Alan was engaging and thoughtful and gave me a fair quote and the date he would be available to install. Installation/Recommendation: I highly recommend Alan at Watchdog Security. He is a man of integrity and is confident and skilled. He completed the job within 1.5 hours and did an outstanding job. I am really glad we went with Watchdog. Alan was incredibly helpful and was able to install a system on the specific day I needed it. We received several quotes from different companies to install a security system at our home including cameras, monitored alarm, etc. The estimates were all comparable but we liked how thorough Alan was in explaining our options and listening to what we were looking for. He wasn't pushy and their communication from their business including Lucy was great. Very professional in presentation and the installation process. We would hire them again and may do so at our business location at some point in the future. read more

After deciding we needed a change in our security system due to some major flaws in the company we previously were using. I kicked my internet search compulsion into high gear, searched for a few weeks getting quotes and estimates. I even went as far as to hire a company that never showed for the install?? What I came away with is a sense that security systems are very hardware intensive and that the best course of action was to focus on the quality of the hardware as well as the company that backs their products. Finally found Watchdog Security and was very, very impressed with how well organized they are and how helpful they were during the 100% transparency, no BS sales pitches, and very knowledgeable people. Alan came out explained everything and was very informative. We have glass break and motion sensors instead, updated our alarm system. I was scheduled quickly and had the entire system (including 3 glass break detectors and motion sensors and an extra camera) in about an hour and a half from start to finish. I can tell you that we are definitely paying 30% less than what we have been paying! Bottom line, these guys are amazing and deserve your business if you want a monitored alarm system . (Or if you already have a system in place and want to add monitoring). What you spend on hardware will depend on the complexity of your system and the features you want - it could be as little as a few hundred dollars, or a few thousand, but its an investment that should last many, many years. read more

If you need to update or install a new home security system in the Sacramento area, you need Watchdog. Alan and his team really know their stuff, and they go above and beyond to meet the needs of the most demanding clients. I am very happy that I invited them to help us in securing our new home in Granite Bay. Our house had an old wired security system in place, more than 20 years old, without any Internet connectivity, and without any cameras. We wanted a solution that would include monitoring, and allow us to remotely grant access to contractors when needed. We also wanted to use the existing wiring to both reduce cost, and to minimize drilling more holes impacting the property's appearance. In addition to Watchdog, I reached out to the firm which installed the original security system, assuming that they would be able to work efficiently to upgrade their prior work. Once I had the two detailed proposals, I brought them to friends who are widely recognized physical security experts, with substantial experience with military, government, and industrial installations. They confirmed what I suspected - the Watchdog proposal did the right trade-offs, to manage project costs without any compromise in solution effectiveness and reliability. For example, Watchdog proposed installing one, not three in-house panels, because the entire solution could also be effectively managed from our smart phones. This made a lot of sense to me. In addition to cameras and an alarm, we wanted a solution that allowed us to identify people, disarm remotely, grant access, confirm that the property was again secure when it was time to revoke access, and then re-secure everything. Alan gave us great advice about the best way to meet all these needs, including using a hard-wired Ring Pro for the front door, a smart update for the garage, and a smart door lock for letting people into the home. The team completed the proposed work quickly, and all their wiring and mounting were very professional. We got everything working well. Then, a month later, another contractor accidentially cut a sensor wire while doing some other work for us. Watchdog came right out, determined the cause of the problem, and they were able to replace the disconnected unit with a wireless one, to keep cost and impact low. I know we were demanding clients, but Alan and his team were consistently helpful, easy to work with, reliable and very capable. Protect your home and your loved ones with a Watchdog Security solution! read more

Allan is fantastic! It's hard to find a company that still gives each customer that one on one attention & service. I purchased surveillance for my home & business & he exceeded my expectations & more! 10 Stars. I dont know where to start. Alan is a super hero. She had no idea how to proceed for an Alarm, and neither did I. Looked Up Alarms and came across Watchdog Security Called Allan, briefly explained to him the situation and he assured me he could go by the very next Day, to assess my moms home. Awesome service. Alan came out and estimated at my home rather than quoting generic packages totally fixated in getting me in a long monitoring contract. System works great, price was totally fair, and he even came back out and helped me fix the clock timer in the cameras which reset somehow. They work great. Can zoom to the mailboxes at the corner and everything. Love it. Totally recommend these guys. read more

Alan was extremely responsive after we had our alarm installed, came over the next day to fix a few needed sensors. His installer was very professional and I trusted him in my home. Highly recommend Watchdog. They installed our alarm and camera systems. Very professional and Alan was amazing to work with.

I don't know how this business got such good reviews. The tech was rude from the beginning. Seemed like he was in a bad mood to begin with and just wanted to be done. He used my personal equipment from my garage without asking and left a bunch of cut wires all around the outside of my house. Had an issue w my dog who was only excited the first 5 mins of him being there and I made sure he stayed away from him the rest of the time because of his attitude. He also was in my personal things which I really didn't appreciate. He should've asked me to move my things instead of digging in my closet. He had a bunch of equipment on my bed and dirtied it w grease. Terrible experience. read more
