My go to store!! I love going there for my DMV! The staff is knowledgeable and friendly!

Roadside service is really bad. I have been a member for years and use to be able to talk to.a person. It is all automated now and their system sucks. Half the time the computer can't hear you and doesn't recognize the city you are located at. It's just not good customer service. Called yesterday about 5:15 pm to get service cause my car wouldn't start. I was at home and had an appointment at 6 pm. After struggling with the automated response computer I finally got my request in after about 15 minutes. Received a message that it would be an hour and 8 minutes before a truck would arrive. We'll that time passed with no one arriving. Received a message that they were having trouble finding and assigning a truck so they would update me in 20 minutes. I got an update that it would be another 25 minutes until they could update me. After that time past I cancelled my request and received a message that I could not cancel. I said again I wanted to cancel. It said a person would contact me. No one contacted me to discuss my cancellation request. At 7:55 pm I received a message that the tow truck arrived. 2 1/2 hours after my request. I told the driver that I had cancelled and he said he had no problem. Now I am going to contact them to see if they counted this cancelled request as a service request against my account. They allow you to have 4 per year so I want to see if they deducted this request from my allocated number. So disappointing to see a good service in the past decline so badly. I used this system in the past and had to wait an hour plus but it has gotten worse over time. read more

Used the DMV service, to get a temporary handicap placard. Service was awesome. The staff is very helpful. Even the manager went the extra mile and helps me out my windshield wipers back on after they slipped off. read more

The people here are always much nicer than going to DMV. I have noticed the uptick in wait times at AAA since dmv changed the way they service the public, but AAA still manages to provide good customer service. I frequent this location after work, and the process is a breeze. I walked in less than 5 minutes. I was getting service. They provide a smog coupon as well. read more

Sometimes I forget I have access to the AAA offices but I am glad I remembered last Friday when it was Veterans Day and I needed my tags for car. I am currently in a wheelchair/crutches and was happy to see that there was easy access to the front door with a wheelchair push button for the doors. Cons- hard to maneuver in wheelchair pros- already have your own seat in the waiting area! I didn't have to wait very long thankfully. The woman who helped me in the back was so so kind! Her desk was the middle desk in the back. The front desk lady walked me back and pulled the chair out for me so I could wheel in. I got my stickers and was on my way! Awesome service and successful trip. read more

This is hard to believe but I had such a good experience. I'm almost glad my truck broke down in El Dorado Hills, CA.    Nick H (aka Nicolas the ridiculous) called me immediately and told me when he was coming. He was so kind, professional, and thoughtful-took wonderful care of my truck and me.  I didn't have a ride home and was planning on hiring an Uber, but he said that sometimes AAA covers that too !   So he talked with his management and they instructed him to take me home which was more than 10 miles away from where my truck was left for service. Wow, I am blown away and didn't know that that was even possible... thank you AAA for going above and beyond the call of duty, and making a difficult night actually enjoyable. My husband and I have had AAA for so many years and have always been happy with their service. Our youngest son decided to go with AAA for his auto insurance carrier a few years ago. I have to share here, he just had the absolute worst experience with AAA. Last night, on his way home, he got a flat tire while driving on Highway 50 near Folsom. He called in for a tow truck at 6:15 pm and was told it would be another hour wait. He did have a spare tire with him, but he didn't want to take a risk working on his truck, as the flat was on the driver's side facing the freeway. At the hour point, no one showed up. At the 1 1/2-hour point, an AAA truck showed up to fix his battery, not a flat tire. At this point, my son was so frustrated with AAA, as it was clearly stated on the app that he had a flat tire. He called AAA back again to be told it would be another hour before a tow truck would get to him. Luck was on his side as a totally non-related AAA tow truck stopped on his way to another job, and towed his truck off the freeway, went to complete his other job, and came back to get his truck, so thankful for this tow truck serviceman who stopped by. By now, it's 10:30 pm, and the tow truck just got to him, so my son did not get home until 11:15 pm. This whole process took him 5 hours (ridiculous), out in the cold, and getting misinformation from the AAA customer service. This may be enough reason to take his auto insurance business elsewhere. read more

Being a Triple A member has its perks. There is an actual office in Folsom that is so darn handy. I absolutely dread going to the DMV and during a pandemic. No thank you! So as I waited and waited for the snail mail to send me a vehicle registration, I realize that I can wait no longer. The current registration was going to expire in 3 business days. Yikes! So being a Triple A member, I hightailed myself to the office in Folsom which is situated in a stand alone building in a shopping center with plenty of parking. The parking spaces were wide, wide enough for the multitude of pickup trucks that seem to be in the parking lot when I dropped in. Anyway, all the staff were masked up. They have plexiglass galore. The front desk staffer was welcoming and put my name and reason for my visit into the computer. I didn't wait long at all before I got to see someone to register my vehicle. On the spot, they were able to print up my certificate and provide me my tag. Just like that. Other services provided by the staff are: auto insurance, homeowners insurance, travel planning ( vacation packages, travel insurance, international driving permit), and notary services. read more

Front desk: Excellent service great communication. DMV agent: Stoic, unfriendly, unhelpful. Line: Long during lunch hours, but usually decent at other times. I'm sure there are different agents but my last two experiences were quite disappointing. I won't bore you with details. I'm going to start using a different office for my DMV work. I was calling for a quote and due to my last agent quiting I thought I get a quote. My family friend agent was busy so I thought I would just shop around. Brian Folsom quoted me prices and then I felt not sure about the quote, which emailed my family agent. They quoted me higher on the prices with not that great state limitations. However, then I told him the state limitations was not right. After that he redid the policy a second time and put it back. Sent that one again over to my family agent and she stated home was fine but not car still. I would not save money plus you gotta pay the membership. Not okay! Never signed nothing for documentation and told him my family agent taking care of me. She told me not to go with him because he is a shady agent that is hurry up to make a policy with not thinking to look at it and being pushy. He then decided to put my papers through my mortgage company which I stated I told them I am staying where I am with my same company and do not know why he put that through. Then he charged my bank and took my money. Who does that and steals from you and writes bad policies. Did a BBB on him and he is not a great agent! read more

Renewed my car registration here. A very nice space with some very high quality people running the operation. Communication is transparent and kind, knowledge of the staff is excellent and what could be a somewhat stressful chore turned into a nice afternoon for me. It was definitely a popular destination, a bit of a wait, but they were quicker than their quote times and I could tell they were operating at the highest level. Shoot, I saw someone get a hug when renewing their car registration! If that's as good as it gets for an insurance branch then I don't know what is. read more

I went into the AAA Folsom office yesterday because I needed to get my BMW registered. I have been having problems with this for actually two years because it's been one thing after another. I've been to the DMV in South Lake Tahoe and I've been to the AAA in Auburn but I always needed one more thing, UGH! My smog light was on and I couldn't find my title and DMV will not let me have my title until my vehicle was smogged. It finally passed smogged a few months ago but I still never received my title from DMV (which I had prepaid in Southlake Tahoe last year). Anna Estrada went out of her way to assist me. I was prepared for her to tell me I still couldn't get it registered (I had previously tried to register it online) but to my relief she knew exactly what to do and was very pleasant doing it. Anna knows her stuff and I SO APPRECIATE YOU ANNA! Thank you for helping me get this off my to do list. I highly recommend the Folsom AAA Office. read more

I'm struggling to find a place to "review" AAA "Roadside Assistance". Can't find one so I'll review it here. In a nutshell........."Beware". My vehicle's fuel pump died in the center of Sacramento in 103 degree heat. Called AAA and arrange a tow. After 30 minutes I checked my phone and found that the estimated time of arrival of the tow truck was three hours. Okay.........I can survive in such conditions for 3 hrs.........sweating like a pig. But, 1) I pay a hefty sum to be "rescued" if/when my vehicle breaks down, 2) A three hour response time in the middle of a metro area is ridiculous (Does AAA need more trucks/contractors?), 3) What if my wife an I were in our 80's.........we'd be dead in our car by the time AAA arrived. It used to be a response time was 30 minutes.......then it was an hour, then two hours, now three hours. And, I'm wondering if AAA has changed it's service from "Emergency Roadside Service" to "Roadside Assistance", eliminating any necessity for them to perform the assumed "rescue" and merely show up when it works for them with now responsibility otherwise. Just saying..........AAA "Roadside Assistance" STINKS with a capital "S". Very, Very disappointed. Hoping others will discover this review and realize the premiums you're paying don't guarantee a swift response. In ending.........The responding tow truck personnel were top-notch. Friendly, personable, great guys. But, "Warning"...........adjust your expectations in regards to AAA's response times. They won't be breaking their necks to save yours. read more

Wanted to add family member to the title of one of our cars. First called DMV and they told me I formation that was incorrect. Then figured we'd call AAA and ask if they could clarify what the DMV told us. They not only told us the correct procedure and forms we needed to fill out were, they had us come in and they did it all for us on their system and they sent it through directly to DMV. Very easy appt-super professional, nice, knowledgeable. Definitely will use my local branch going forward for all DMV issues. read more

Don't go here if you are in a pinch or need help! They don't care. Recently joined AAA. Had an urgent need for DMV services. I explained my situation to the guy at the front desk. Wife is out if town, juggling three kids, must get DMV services today for a critical situation - and oh yea. Work! The guys was like, sorry. Must make an appointment. Go to the DMV for quicker service. Completely shocked they could not work me in given the situation. What is the point of DMV services if the DMV is quicker. Simply had the best experience! Was in Folsom to purchase a Truck and wanted to utilize the AAA DMV Ownership Transfer assistance. Stopped by late afternoon. There were several ppl ahead of us but it wasn't a log wait at all. Turned out I needed a smog check in order to complete the paperwork - They helped me locate a nearby station and I managed to get there and back before the DMV services closed. These guys and gals rock.. go figure DMV despite me never ever ever sending a thing sent my registration renewal to my ex wife's new place in Sacramento.. and not to me.. or my registered address where I live . all fine except I live 100 miles away in a different county.. one that is a no smog county and this doesn't require thousands of dollars to get my vehicle to the ridiculous strict standards required to register legally a vehicle in California.. within 5 minutes they took care of the error and helped me avoid 1. Having to take a day off work To 2. Spend 8 hours or more at a DMV to correct an erroneous error on their part... AAA you are worth every penny read more

Guess AAA office in Folsom is not open on Saturdays. I just found this out, inquiring about passport photos. Useless for people who work long hours Monday-Friday and can't make it there during the week, like so many people. So I will have to go elsewhere and pay for the service I was going to use with my membership. The longer I am with AAA (since 1987), more and more disappointed I am. Last time I was there last spring, I had booked an appointment online. I walked in and they said they had no record of it. I showed them the confirmation on my phone as proof, which did me no good. I had a Dr. Appointment and had allotted 40 minutes for AAA with my appointment confirmation, with lots of time to get to my Dr. Appointment 3 miles away. The lady at the front looked at me and said: Well, you are not in MY system, so I will have to add you to the line and you will have to wait. ARE YOU F-ing kidding me? It's YOUR fault and you putting me at the back of the line??? The kind members saw my outrage and must have sympathized, and all offered to let me go first. Due to their kindness I got my deceased father's car title transferred on time and still made it to my doctor's office. Had the good people in the office not offered their help, I would have had to choose between registering my dead father's car legally to me, or making it to my Doctor's appointment thanks to AAA. That was not the first time, their system messed up an online appointment either. The first time, I just chalked it up to bad technology. This time it's a combination of poor technology and bad customer service. Will seriously question re-upping my AAA roadside service this summer when it's due, which I have paid for year after year since the 1980's and only used towing service a handful of times over those years. I don't truly get my money's worth a year from them, so when I do go, if I don't get the service I need efficiently, what's the point? I figure I don't ask for much from AAA, and when they fail more than once in a year or two, it's 100% unacceptable. read more
