Our homeowners insurance policy with Mercury lapsed, and we were never notified--neither by our broker nor by the insurance company. We only discovered the issue a full year later when our mortgage company contacted us. Being left uninsured without any notice is unacceptable and could have had serious financial consequences. After decades of loyalty, I expected at the very least basic communication and oversight. Unfortunately, this experience has completely eroded our trust.
