The other day I called to get my spectrum bill somehow lowered, the guy said it's not possible he told me it'll slowly creep up until it reaches $90 even though when I signed up it was only about $50, I told him that I'm going to have to switch providers then and when he asked me who I'd be switching to he, let me know that that was not a reliable service to have, so second-guessed canceling well then the next day I had a service outage for most of the day so today I called to cancel and it was a different guy I was speaking to, but he was not willing to cancel my account and then he hung up on me. So I guess if they're refusing to help me cancel my account I am I just supposed to wait until they shut off my account for me not paying it? I tried to do it the way it supposed to be done. I DO NOT recommend Spectrum! Steer clear! Be sure to read their fine print. Only company I have ever encountered that does not pro-rate any service you do not use at the end of a contract. We cancelled their service that we had for 16 years and returned their modem on 10/21/22 because we sold our house. They are still charging us a full month's service from 10/14/22-11-13/22. I would add that their customer service representative was very unfriendly. If I could give them a zero, I would. Spectrum doesn't prorate payments. So if you have service for just one day in a month you pay for the entire month.

Trash service. Paying $75 a month for sub par internet service. When the internet is out. You have to wait for days and days. No idea on when it's going to be repaired. They provide spotty coverage and then when you leave them, because you can use their service especially Of your lively require internet service, they keep the full value of your last payment even if it's just a few days in. I was promise om two separate occasion to receive my money, but it was not returned. Then I was ignored on my 3rd call with more company repetition. There are recorded calls with then stating they were going to give me money back and it has not happened. After I disconnected the service, they refused to delete my bank account information even after my balance was zero and I had no more dealings with them. Do not ever sign up with them. Unbelievably poor service and an "I-don't-care-because-you-have-no-choice" attitude. Constant outages. In the past 48 hours, as an example, we've lost internet no fewer than 7 times with outages lasting from 5 minutes to a few hours. Last week there were two days where the internet was down nearly the entire day. And when you call customer service you get a very polite individual who will confirm that yes, your internet was down, and even give you some reason - but who is unable to comment on anything except listed reason for the current outage. When you ask for a supervisor you are told that they do not accept transfer calls, but they can call back. (I'm still waiting). Highly unreliable, and terrible customer service. read more

I've had Spectrum internet for years but finally had to let go. Called to get lower bill from $74.99 or cancel. Got $54.99 (T-mobile is $50.00 flat but I was willing to stay) I was told I needed to upgrade equipment (no charge). I get the new equipment and see a $20.00 charge for new equipment and the bill is still $74.99. I called to correct the error but no one would take the charge off. I canceled service and was told to take equipment to Spectrum store, when I get there they tell me they don't accept equipment at the store (5 miles) I need to go to UPS ( 1mile). All said and done I get a final FULL month bill of $74.99. I called billing because I was put on the $54.99 plan and canceled in the middle of the month. I was charged $74.99. Excellent customer service from in store specialist Stephanie in Clermont Fl. she is always pleasant, knowledgeable and always try to find a way to assist me. I had ordered the iphone, 14 pro max which was on back order which wasn't her fault but I became frustrated and iritated, but somehow with Stephanie poise and professionalism, everthing was eventually resolved. Spectrum is really a thing now. It seems like everyone I know has the spectrum service. I am a customer as well. This location is kind of hidden and if you don't know where it is be sure to look it up in maps. The place is rather small. They have a small piece of furniture about 6 people could sit on. People tend to sit or line the walls awaiting service. You sign in electronically at the front via tablet. What I really can appreciate is the service from the employees here. I was here at this location in line for about an hour. I can honestly say they were working diligently to help solve the various problems presented before them. Every time I have an issue on the phone or in person they are very helpful. The prices are very affordable and the speeds are sufficient for the modern day me! read more

Beware of this store! Went into the store after going into three other Spectrum stores and having no luck finding the phone and the representative, Kevin, told us that they did have one more iPhone 15, pro in stock and as soon as I mentioned that I wanted to early upgrade, he decided that he all of a sudden could not complete the early upgrade, because the phone was for new lines only, and not for anything else, and it was the last one in the store. I told him that I called customer service and they told me I was able to do an early upgrade and that it made no sense that I couldn't upgrade my phone even if it was the last one in the store, he informed me that it was policy and that they received an email about it and I asked him to show it to me and he said that he couldn't show it to me because it was confidential, he told us we could upgrade it after my husband said that we already spoke to the customer service representative over the phone and paid half of the phone off to be able to do the transaction today. then he all of a sudden changed his mind and decided to process it and while being rude asking me if my iPhone 14 pro was in good condition, I said yes and he checked it and looked up my account. After checking everything and putting in my Social Security number, he proceeded to look over at me and say "Hun, You don't have any financial amount available to you." I said what are you talking about and he said that when he ran my credit score that there was no money available to be able to finance the phone and I said you didn't have to do that to do the early upgrade he was just trying to get out of the sale. We left and went to the Spectrum at address, 6855 Eagle Watch Dr Orlando, FL 32822 United States , and was met with very nice representatives, Angel, and Martin and we explained the situation over to them, and told them that the last representative was very rude and unprofessional and said that we could not finance an early upgrade. Angel checked my account because we wanted to know if we could do it first, and he determined that I actually had $1500 of finance available and that the other representative LIED to us to get us out of the store. My internet was perfect speed Brighthouse 5G, one day these (Spectrum rep)guys come in and say you have the old equipment. We have to update. They remove the equipment, make new holes and add wires etc... When we turn our internet on, go my Wi-Fi it does not say 5G like my neighbors with Spectrum do, if we both have 5G why do theirs say 5g and mine doesn't. I ask the guy he says yes it is, just give it some time...The internet is still super slow till today. I think they down graded my equipment or speed, its really slow and yes it has nothing to do with my PC or o/s its fairly new and works very well. Een my cellphones are latest models I tend to disconnect from wi-fi because its just to slow in the house. read more

I arrived at this Spectrum location at 8:50 AM on a Saturday. The location opens at 9. When I arrived there were already about 10 people waiting in line outside the store - wow I was NOT expecting that. A few months ago they had raised my bill for cable by about $30 dollars (nothing new was added - just more fees) - I decided to cancel it since I do not use it that much. The woman tried to convince me to keep my cable package and claimed "Wow this is such a great deal." I didn't buy it. I came in to the location to return my cable box. The line was quick. There were about 4 or 5 women working behind the counter to get all the customers settled. The woman that helped me was short in conversation - not interested in friendly conversation. She left a bad taste in my mouth. I was in and out of the store in about 10 minutes. Can't really complain about that! read more

I was told by a technical support rep that I had 60 mbps of download speed and that I could get 300 mbps of speed and all I had to do is get migrated over. I called retention department they tell me I would have to pay $30 for it. Right now considering that I work from home and need internet they have me over a barrel. This location always has poor service. Waited for over 90 minutes just to exchange a malfunctioning cable box while 1 of the 2 employees spent that entire time "transferring three lines". He was obviously selling them a new set of phones and setting up new accounts but we even had to wait while mom took the daughter out to another store to buy a case for her new phone. When another company (Spectrum) takes over services of an existing company (Bright House Networks), customers always hope for improvements, not more problems. Unfortunately, my journey with Spectrum has been a huge headache. As is good practice, I occasionally call my cable provider to see if I'm getting the best deal. So, when I received notice in late 2016 that my rates would be going up after Spectrum took over Bright House, I gave them a call inquiring about better rates. I was pleasantly surprised when I was offered a rate close to my pre-Spectrum rate plus HBO, Cinemax and Showtime free for one year. However, I was very UNpleasantly surprised to receive my next bill, which was about $75 more than I was quoted. When I called to protest, I was informed that: 1) I probably was not promised the rate I told them and 2) I didn't qualify for the rate "allegedly" quoted to me since that was a "new customer" deal. Fine. I asked them to please review the call and they agreed to do so and promised to get back to me. They did not get back to me, but I did receive a letter stating that my rate would go from "a" (the rate I told them I was quoted) to "b" (a higher rate, but better than what I was charged the first time by Spectrum." The next bill came and I had to call them again as if was a higher rate than was quoted on the letter. I was informed that there was no record of this letter in their system, so I should go to their in-person customer service center and by the way, I should never have been promised the original offer (really? I'm sorry that your staff is incompetent, but it was infuriating that they never took responsibility of what they probably heard when they played back on the original call and what I have in writing). So, I woke up extra early on a workday to go in person to one of their customer service centers. The line was out the door and there were paint fumes and construction sounds once your section of the line was inside. The staff member that assisted me was friendly, but was not able to reimburse me for excessively paying for services. She looked at the letter I brought in from Spectrum and changed my rate to the one promised in the letter and I paid my current balance. However, this nightmare continued when I received my next bill. It stated that I was $18 past due. So, I give Spectrum a call. I explained the situation and inform them that I have the receipt stating that I paid my account in full. I mention the letter and the staff member puts me on hold to see what he can do. I have some glimmer of hope since someone seems to be actually looking into the situation, but when he returns on the line, he basically tells me that he and his co-workers are skeptical of the existence of this letter (because of course, it's not in their system) and suggests that I bring the letter to an in-person customer service center (insert eye roll and exasperated sigh here). I explain that I already did this and he suggests I do this again. At this point, I just ask him to provide me with a definite rate so I don't get anymore surprises and then I end the call. I truly hope a representative of Spectrum reads this and: 1) makes changes to this ineffective and bad business model and 2) gives me guidance on what else I can do (besides look for another cable/Internet provider, which I'm already doing) to straighten this mess out and get reimbursed for being over charged. DO NOT ORDER MOBILE SERVICE FROM SPECTRUM. I placed an order, returned the 2 phones back without activating since I was not happy with the plan they were offering me. (Only 1GB). I asked the sell rep when placing the order 3 TIMES if I could get my money back and he said Yes 100% within the first 30 days. I returned the phone the next day I received them and now I am being change $35.00 on restocking fee for each phone totaling $70.00. I paid $107.00 for 2 phones and they are refunding me $6.35 for each phone. Simply ridiculous! When I call they say they will ask a supervisor to approve a refund as if they are favor doing me a favor. Their sales people are so hungry to sell that will hide any cost to you just to sell. Our experience with Spectrum has been a roller coaster of conflicting developments. The gentleman that set up our new account was nice and seemed to know what he was doing. The installer of the equipment a couple days later was less so. I was given the option to get a Spectrum WiFi modem for $5.00 but declined because I had my own that I wanted to use. At our previous location our modem worked just fine on a competitors network. The technician spent fifteen minutes trying to get the WiFi to work and spent most of those fifteen minutes talking to his tech support to see what was going on. He asked if we had another WiFi modem. No, I did not but the previous tenant had left his spectrum modem behind. So, the gentleman jerry-rigged our modem to the spectrum modem. Who does this?! We could not use the spectrum modem as our modem due to us not knowing password, which I'm sure was the reason behind the jerry-rigging to begin with...which, of course, wasn't exactly necessary. There could have been other options to solve our dilemma. But, no! After doing his mock up of the modems, the "technician" left the premises leaving behind the old tenants equipment (minus the modem, since it was being used). When I called several days later to have someone come to our house to pick up the equipment that the technician left behind, I was told that it would cost me $49.99 to do so or I could bring it in to the nearest retail store. I live 45 minutes away from the nearest spectrum retail store. There was no way, I would do so. This is not only uncalled for but unnecessary since it was the technicians hasty treat that caused this dilemma as well. read more

The representative I had must have been new. He didn't know what was going on. I spent a hour on the phone with him to be told I need to go in to a store to transfer my service. He couldn't schedule a date for service transfer so after 1 hr, I was left with almost no information or any service provided. When he told me that service was still set up at my new address in another name, I told him that spectrum needs to cancel it or call the person. He NS said "I personally don't know that person". Only had Spectrum for 4 months and just like that they reminded me why I hated Brighthouse. $944 for 4 months of service despite being reassured my chosen package is a great deal at $139 a month. Error messages show up when you try to log in to pay your bill. And if you call they tell you the only way you can pay without $5 fees is online. Until you go to cancel that is. Back to cutting the cord after a very expensive lesson on why this company is obsolete. Now I am watching Showtime on my Amazon channel with Roku and it's $8 a month. i am going to tryyy to make it short. so i tried to google the phone number for this store. i cane across all these crazy bad reviews. i personally know myself so i said i rather not deal woth that in person so i decided to call the customer service number. tell me how i specifically told her about four times that i simply wanted a price quote for the internet and two phones financed. she tried to quickly get me to purchase random stuff and i reminded her that i was sinply calling for a price quote. so she tells me the price of the internet. then tells me in order to see if were able to get the phones financed she said i would need your social to do a soft credit check. so ofcourse we gave her the social. she checks the phones and says we need to put two hundred down. i told her that at this time we arent trying to do that. so i thanked her for her time and information and then she says wait wait before i hung up and says i need your imei to transfer the phone. i said what are you talking about that i simply asked for a price quote. she says no i signed you up for internet and phone.!! not onceeee did we give her authorization to do so. i told her a handful of times it was for a price quote. she ends up giving me an attitude. tells me "well i signed you up for it" i said i never gave tou authorization to do so. she proceeds to tell me that since i gave her the social that thats what it was for. total bullshit!!!!!!! she asked me for the social to check the phone finance. shes a money hingry lying b word. and this is the exact reason i didnt go in person cause i know my reaction and was trying to avoid this exact thing they do that ive read countless complaints on. i gave them the benefit of the doibt and nope. there are a slimy comapny with slimy ass people working for them. i then spoke to a manager by the name of chad who was equally rude and incompetent. gave me an attitude as well. i told him the situation and that i never authorized anything. so to close my case. he literally told me that "he get it done" i said ok well i need proof that it wasss done and his literal reply was "youre just going to have to take my word for it" i said if his word is as good ss his employees then it means nothing and this queer hung up on me!!!! i had to call back and get the internet that i mever applied for canceled.!! if this was done in person id be on jail! go play with your kids not me!!!! read more

I was a Brighthouse, then Spectrum customer for over 15 years, with internet, tv, and phone service. When things were working it was OK, but when there were problems which seemed more often than not, the customer service was terrible. The representatives weren't empowered to do anything, unless they were trying to sell you something new. Finally fed up with the spotty service, I found out I was paying waaay too much compared to some of the other competitor prices. So, I packed up all of my devices and took them to the Spectrum store to terminate my account and turn in the equipment. Once in the store I was told that I could only disconnect my service over the phone and I would also have to take my equipment to a UPS store where they would ship it back to Spectrum free of charge. Calling Spectrum over the phone, I followed the prompts to terminate my service and when I finally got to a person she said I could drop off my equipment at a Spectrum store (are you kidding me??) but I would need to call Retention Serviced and gave me another number to dial. I find it interesting that if I was trying to get an upgrade to my service they would connect me automatically, but to terminate my service I was left on my own to dial it myself. As anticipated, retention services was a terrible experience. The lady told me I could not get credit for terminating my service 3 and a half weeks before the end of the billing cycle. In addition she told me I could turn my equipment in at a Spectrum store, and when I explained that I couldn't, she came up with a mealymouth excuse why taking it to a UPS was a better option. Overall, post-Hurricane Ian and Nicole, there have been at least 10 of my neighbors who have dropped Spectrum and have switched to AT&T fiber, now I'm another one. Spectrum is terrible. read more

Spectrum just ruined the WBC Puerto Rico v Dominican Republic game by switching it out during the last inning. The ticker warning of the switch came at last moment and "advised" where you would be able to watch. Of course, the channels they advised were not part of the included channels. I do think it would have made sense to switch to an included channel so the game could have been watched to its completion. Thanks Spectrum for ruining the game experience.
