He was the technician sent to my house. Zoom, Zoom and zoom everything was in perfect working order except that the fact they had my service disconnected because I had been trying to get someone out here for over 2 weeks. No shows, no calls. I gave him the options to disconnect my service or have somebody come and fix it and they disconnected my service. She also promised me that prior to disconnecting my service she would have a supervisor call me. No supervisor called me and my service was disconnected unbeknownst to me. At this point, Shamar told me all I had to do was call back in and they would connect me up and I'd be set to go. The Representative on the phone spent almost 2 hours with me trying to make that happen. I finally asked her to please have Shamar come back over because based on what I have experienced he is the only person who knew anything about what he was doing. She said she couldn't promise, but would try. The very next day at 4 o'clock Shear came to my door came in went in the room and the problem was solved in less than five minutes. I think Shamar is extremely good at what he does. He asked questions he's very very polite quick and very sweet. He also talks highly about the company. I have been forced to have Hotwire communications because of where I live. I have lived here for almost four months and in that time I have had nothing but problems with the television constantly going in and out. Hotwire sends people out but nothing has gotten fixed. I'm the meantime I have had to pay for the service. It's absolutely ridiculous that a company can charge people but NOT PROVIDE WORKING SERVICE!!!!! I constantly send pictures of the picture I experience everyday and I'm a retired disabled veteran. How is this okay???? read more

We've had them for cable & internet for just over two months. As new condo homeowners, this service was already in place to replace Spectrum. We are losing cable and internet weekly, sometimes for 10-12 hours. They provide no contact information to reach them. With elderly parents, this has been a nightmare situation as we try to zoom with their doctors, out of state. read more

One star is way too much. I called to ask about a service being down. Long story short, my issue was not resolved and the lady on the phone could not offer any time table for when the issue would be resolved. She made an innocent remark, I corrected her grammar, she became angry and hung up on me. I called back, was kept on hold for over 11 minutes before being told no supervisor was available. I am still waiting on a call back. If your community tries to switch, run away as fast as you can. read more

Here I am again leaving a review for Hotwire Communications. Sent an email Saturday requesting information on getting a new remote. NO RESPONSE !!! So today I called and was told they will send a technician out for a charge of $50 and then I will also have to pay for the remote. Now keep in mind that Spectrum will give you a new remote for using their service and service calls are free. After all the outages and poor reception I have had NOW they want to charge me for a service call and a new remote. Worst service I have experienced with any cable provider. Stay clear !! read more

I wish I could give less than one star. This is by far the worst company I have had to deal with. After numerous calls and emails, still no solution or answer as to why I pay $70 for 15M of shit. Do I ever get 15M? I did ONE time when I was hard wired and it was 3:30 AM. What kinda crap is that. I've done several screen shots of my speeds and sent to corporate only to be told "we will work on it". And then not another word. I heard of some individuals that are starting a lawsuit. I am currently owed $964.45 from this company! I have been fighting for my refund for over a year, and they are fully aware they owe it to me. I e been told every time I call my check will get t me in 4-6 weeks. Even today I called again and the young lady confirmed the amount and I still haven't received my refund check for services they cut off, but had no problem taking my automatic payment from BOA for a year! My community switched to hotwire for tv and phone and internet. As homeowners we are just supposed to pay the taxes on the phone.Well it was installed in late September, my first bill was 95.00.Called got no satisfaction. Fast forward 20 emails numerous phone calls no help. It is now January 15. My bill is now over 100.00 with past due.It has been 4 months of phone calls .My community is no help ,there are many homeowners going they this.Seens to me they would want to get payment. I give Hotwire Communications one star, because you're required to give at least one. This company has been a nightmare. In this community, each resident has to pay for their own wireless plan and gets to choose what speed they want and price goes up accordingly. The concept makes sense, but in reality it doesn't matter what speed you pay for, or how many residents pay for their own plan because WE ALL SHARE! My internet works great.. until my neighbors also want to use their internet. If you live in a community that has a contract with Hotwire, my advice to you is to up your data plan with your cell phone provider and save yourself the hassle of having a wireless internet plan. read more

Hyperbole aside, I really wish I could give it less than one star. The internet service is abysmal. More expensive than average, and we suffered between 20 and 60% packet loss for weeks. They reshuffled hardware and never have gotten rid of all the packet loss. This leads to timeouts when browsing the web and really terrible streaming experiences. It has made working from nearly impossible. . The TV side is frustrating. The only DVR box available is at least three generations old. The guide is a nightmare to navigate and on-demand isn't even worth bothering with. Small complaints? They would be if we weren't paying so much for the service. Other local companies charge less and have far better consistency of service and better equipment. This quite literally accelerates our plan to move out of this apartment complex sooner rather than later. read more

So, I edited this review. See below for original review. I rasied my stars to three because my issue was resolved. After rasing a stink and the help of the rep, Ken, who I spoke to earlier, a supervisor called me back and had someone come out tonight to hook everything up. Now we will see how the service goes before I raise the stars. I wish it didn't have to start out like, but I'm happy they stepped up to the plate and took care of me. Who knows, maybe in a week or 2 after seeing how everything works, I'll raise it to 5 stars... Thank you Ken and the supervisor team for helping out. Initial Review (1 star) -------------------------------- So, as a new customer of Hotwire Communications, my first experience so far is unacceptable. Right now I am dealing with my Grandmother who had a stroke so I had to move into her place to be close and take care of her. I called Hotwire on November 18, 2014 to get services setup. I'm currently with Brighthouse Communications, but unfortunately they do not service this new neighborhood otherwise I would be a happy man right now. On November 18th the Rep I spoke with at Hotwire told me that there would be someone out to setup services for me today, Friday, November 21, 2014. Although she was unable to give me an time frame they would be out here today, she gave me a confirmation code and said I could call today to ask when they will be here, TODAY. Please note, I asked her to confirm about 3 times that it was scheduled for this Friday (11/21/14) and one last time right before I hung up. She confirmed each time and said , "Yes, this Friday". So I call up today to get a time frame they would be out to set everything up and the Rep said, oh it's actually Tuesday, November 25, 2014. I explained to the Rep what I was told on the 18th and and he pretty much gave me the, "oh well, nothing I can do for you" attitude. So I asked to speak to a supervisor and he kept telling me, "Oh well they are just going to tell you the same thing". After asking at least 4 times to speak to a supervisor, he reluctantly put me on hold and said he would find a supervisor for me to talk to. When he came back he told me that there was a really high call volume and I would have to wait for a supervisor to call me back. I said okay. After waiting about an hour with no call back, I called Hotwire to find out what was going on. The nice rep I spoke with, Ken, said there was no record of me calling earlier and there was no request submitted to speak to a supervisor. He put me on hold to find out more information and after 40 minutes of waiting he said he couldn't find out what happened. I am now waiting once again for a supervisor to call me back. I was told that it may be between 2 and 6 hours before they can call me. Not sure what's up with that, but I guess I will find out if they pull through. I got a reference number this time so I guess I'll see what they say. Hopefully once we do get connected, the actual internet service is better than their customer support because they are really lacking there. I'm a supervisor for a big web hosting company and I understand that things happen, but I'm absolutely shocked at how things are being handled at Hotwire Communications and how my case is being handled. read more

I agree with Sherri. I have moved in recently and the internet has been nothing but a problem. I pay $30 a month for the "upgraded" 15 meg download ( competitors in the area offer 100+ megs) because I work a lot from home. Over the past 3 months I have had 3 separate techs come out to my home because of the internet issues. When I do a speedtest I get the advertised 15 meg download, but the high ping times and the constant lag makes the service almost unusable during most of the day. The last time the tech came out ( 7/21/14) he said that EVERY home in the development has poor internet performance due to the physical box attached to everyone's home where the internet comes in. They "hope" to have them replace within the next few months. If this is the problem, I am glad we have identified and solved the problem, but I feel taken advantage of over the past few months. When will this situation finally be put to bed? And why is there only 15 megs on the top range of download speeD? read more

A family member is unfortunately stuck with this sad excuse of an ISP their service has been down for at least a week and when it was up it would drop out and never become stable. When I called them up they said it was going to take over a week to even get a tech out and I told them don't bother sending one to look and rule out the houses connections because I've already gone through all of that. The services offered with these damn development contracts do nothing but screw over the customer from getting real service that actually works. This is supposed to be fiber? Don't make the mistake of signing up with them. Better yet save the frustration and don't buy into a development that forces you to be stuck with extremely pathetic service. Worst internet company ever. We live in 2017 but can't get internet speeds over 1MB in my apartment in Tampa. Can't get any other provider because of the exclusive monopoly they have with the area. Stay away from Hotwire or any apartment complex that deals with them read more

Customer service is nearly nonexistant, and even the technician for our neighborhood has said he's been telling them for years they need to fix the service here and they've completely ignored him, as they've done with the rest of the complaints from other people in our HOA.
