I have been using TechBay for over 8 years. I had a lot of bad experiences with the big office supply stores and the big box electronic stores and couldn't seem to find an actual tech at any of those locations. They were all eager to check my computer in and take my money, but could never fix my computers much less do what they promised. These places would have my computer for weeks and would still not be able to fix things properly. After my last bad experience, I just happened to be driving home to Zellwood from Winter Park when I say TechBay in Maitland across from the Mercedes Benz dealership on 17/92. I just told him everything that had happened and i didn't know where to go to get my computers fixed or who to trust. James just said he promised to do his best for me. I have been using TechBay since 2006 and there is no where else I would ever go. I have been to all of the big box stores such as Best Buy, Office Depot, and CompUSA / TigerDirect as well as most of the local stores in Central Florida. It is nice to just go into a store where there is someone that actually knows what they are doing instead of just a cashier or other non-tech person or unqualified so called tech person to work on my computers. James at TechBay has done a great job for us here at Mandell Law Firm as our Managed IT Services Provider. He took over from our previous IT provider who wasn't doing a good job and within just a few days had our office running great. He built and installed a shared Network Attached Storage (NAS) device for us all to use, built several custom high performance new computers for our office, completely rebuilt our old computers to remove viruses, installed managed anti-malware software on all systems, upgraded our office firewall, switch, and phone system and also wired our entire office to the newest standards. Another computer store in Maitland did a free diagnostic for me on my laptop but when they started to remove the viruses to fix it they kept calling me with additional issues and charges. i then took my laptop to Techbay where they gave my laptop a thorough diagnostic with the prices to fix what they found. I felt comfortable with their direct approach so i authorized the repair. Techbay did a good job reformatting my laptop to eliminate viruses and did an even better job reinstalling the operating system because my laptop was better than new when i got it back. They are the only techs i trust in central florida. i have used TechBay since 2003. At first they fixed and maintained the computer i purchased from the old cheapguys but that pc didn't last long. Then i had Techbay build me a real computer in jan 2006. i liked it so much i had TechBay build me a gaming machine in 2009 so i could play call of duty and starcraft. A laptop I purchased from a pawn shop was full of viruses and not useable. After the pawn shop said they sold it to me as-is and it was my problem I asked my friends if they knew of any good computer shop. One of my friends said to take it to TechBay so I did. James completely redid the laptop at a good price and it worked great. I later gave that laptop to my daughter and purchased a used Toshiba laptop from James that he rebuilt himself. my computer was completely screwed up: slow, acting bizarrel, asking repetitively to sign in, etc, techbay attempted to fix it and found that the hard drive had been corrupted. they installed a new hard drive rather quickly and gave me a break on price. My computer runs now like when it was brand new. i have known the owner for many years. he has always been helpful, knowledgeable and honest.
