The girl employee, short, with a bun, was helping us unfortunately. She tried to sell my dad a box with the case, protector and charger cube while I said no. She insisted and I got so annoyed because it's a rip off. $60 , when you can get that cheaper somewhere else. I let it pass. NOW we've been waiting on her for more than 30 minutes for her to put the case and protector to the phone & she's helping the other employees customers, instead of finishing with us. It's just not okay. ANY OTHER EMPLOYEE COULD'VE DONE IT BETTER. WE WENT BACK TO THE STORE BECAUSE SHE FORGOT TO GIVE US THE CABLE CHARGER! LIKE GURL. If I could give zero stars for the customer service at this location, I would. I visited the Spectrum store in La Quinta, and had one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had, all thanks to their store manager, Presilla Ramos. I came in with a billing concern after signing up online for a promotional offer that was not being honored on my bill. Instead of helping, Presilla was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. When I asked simple questions, she rolled her eyes, laughed under her breath, and treated me like I was a nuisance, not a paying customer. She told me she would "submit a ticket" and get back to me. I waited a long time while she disappeared in "the back", only to never follow up, never explain anything, and never offer any kind of resolution. Even after she came out from "the back". I left more frustrated than when I arrived. This kind of behavior, especially from a "store manager" is unacceptable. I expected help and professionalism, but what I got was condescension, poor communication, and no resolution whatsoever. I eventually received help from Spectrum corporate only after filing complaints with the FCC and BBB, but I never heard back from Presilla or the store, even after all that. Avoid this location if you're expecting respect, empathy, or accountability. Spectrum really needs to re-evaluate who they put in charge of their customer facing teams. read more

This review does not apply to the specific location listed above, however, I had to select a specific location for my review. I have been a Spectrum customer for 4 years. I recently found competing offers for internet service, but wanted to give Spectrum the opportunity to match their prices before considering a change. I called in and spoke to a very nice representative who informed me that if I were to cancel today, I would still be responsible for another billing cycle but without receiving the service I was being charged for, rather they would disconnect me immediately and still require a month's payment. I was not asking for a refund either in full or in part. I asked him how he would feel if this were his only option, and he agreed that this business practice seems unfair to the customer. I'm not sure why this policy is in place, but I wonder if it's designed to discourage customers from disconnecting their service. I find this policy to be a shady, poor business practice, and not in keeping with industry standards. If you're a new or returning customer I would highly consider this policy before beginning service. I wish I had known to ask this before signing up. read more

We sold our home and moved three miles away in La Quinta. We needed service and Spectrum was our provider in the past. I researched it and found a competitor was 12% cheaper but they could not do the job for six days. So, I went with Spectrum. In walked Juan, a ten year employee. He did it all. We have three TVs going, Internet and cell phones. He was just great to work with too. I cannot help but applaud him and Spectrum. read more

I went in to sign up for internet service, and despite clearly stating that I only wanted internet, the salesperson kept insisting on switching my cellphone service to Spectrum. Despite my repeated refusals, she persisted. When I asked about the advertised promotion of $50 for 300 speed, I was told it was only available if I signed up for the phone plan. I could sense she didn't appreciate me saying no to the phone plan. Feeling misled, I walked out. However, upon calling Spectrum directly, I was "surprised" to discover that I could indeed get the advertised price for internet alone. The salesperson's lack of transparency and pushiness were disappointing. Save yourself the hassle and avoid visiting this location in person. Also, if possible avoid spectrum at all cost. Frontier is much better since they have fiber. With spectrum if your neighbors are using too much internet your internet is throttled and slowed down. Unfortunately I only have spectrum as my only internet option but I would avoid this company. You have been warned. read more

As much as I grumble about internet service providers, I have to report that the technical support I've received from Spectrum has been good. Caveat: it's too hard to get to a person I can talk to. However, when you finally reach that person that can hear my issue and help me resolve, it's really good. After a service outage overnight, my wifi devices didn't come back online. I called and got Jason. He tried remotely restarting my modem/router to no avail. Determined that I needed to go to the site to troubleshoot further but said that he's continue to "check some things." Viola! Thanks Jason. read more

Ive had Spectrum internet services for many years. I recently switched to frontier fiber optic. Please be aware that if you cancel service, the monthly rate is not prorated. I canceled on January 18th and noticed I was going to be charged on Feb 2nd for $76.24. I called and was informed that I have to pay for services from January 15 to Feb 14 since I didn't cancel by Jan. 15th. I have to pay for the entire month when I unhooked service on the 18th. I was told it would be prorated in the phone when I cancelled. BEWARE of dates if you plan to cancel!! read more

I went into the store without an appointment and realized it might be a wait. Surprisingly, the wait line moved quite quickly as I observed a specific employee by the name of Kathy. Not only was she very knowledgeable about their products and contracts she also showed amazing friendly and helpful customer service skills. I read the most recent reviews of this Spectrum location in La Quinta; most of the reviews are complaining about the high cost of the Internet/TV/phone services or the quality of their service (slow internet speed, etc). This Yelp review is for the customer service only. Parking lot is plentiful since it is shared with a large shopping area which includes Costco. The best thing to do is schedule an appointment online, which is super easy; I found the location on google maps and clicked the website link which leads me to 'make an appointment' site which asks for the Spectrum location and your name and phone number and choose a pre-categorized reason ('add/exchange equipment' for me because my cable box broke. The earliest appointment that I could make is 4 hours in advanced; you can check-in 30 minutes before your appointment time. I didn't want to wait that long so I just walked-in. Right when you open the front door, there is an ipad self check-in where you enter your name and choose a problem topic (took me literally 10 seconds), but there are lots of old people who have no idea how to use an ipad and keep tapping random things. There are 3 small sitting areas to wait inside (2 small round bar tables with 3 chairs for each table; and a 3-piece sofa; very spacious inside. There is a big TV monitor that shows your place in line (separate walk-in queue and separate appointment queue). I had 10 people in front of me, and there were 4 workers. I waited an hour (I considered that fast); I can't complain since I didn't wait for my appointment. The worker calls my name; I tell her that I need to exchange my cable box; they asked for my drivers license; worker put in my information from the old cable box; she hands me a new one. Entire interaction was 5 minutes; worker was fully competent in what she was doing. I have no complaints about this place and would be happy if I needed to come back to this Spectrum location. read more

BAD service!! The store was empty and still did not get timely service. There was 4 employees and only 1 was assisting a customer, the other 3 were just standing around worried if I had already signed in! All I needed was to turn in equipment and after waiting a while, they just wanted to see my ID. When I asked them why they needed to see my ID, they could not answer my question. I walked out and decided to return the items in the UPS store, they won't even ask for ID. Spectrum needs to hire competent people snd train them in customer service. read more

Seems like they need some other system in place for customers who just need to replace equipment that their service tech accidentally left at my house. I have to wait until any of the 3 "service" people here at the store are done having personal conversations with other patrons to simply return this router.
