After my experience, I do not trust Hydes AC and do not want to do any future business with them…read more Thank goodness I got a second opinion. A few days ago, Hydes came out to service my AC. Upon inspection, the first thing I was told was that my AC was 3-4 pounds low of freon and that it would cost approx. $130 per pound (with their discounted maintenance plan). He then said most likely the leak was from my coils. I asked if there is a product that would repair a leak. He said there is, but that they do not recommend it. (I can't remember the reason, but that they do not recommend it). I then asked how much it was be to replace the coils. He said approx. $4,000. I asked how does he know the leak is in the coils? He said 9 out of 10 times, it's the coils. I asked about just putting freon in and checking next year as that is a lot of money to spend on a 10 year old AC. He said the pressure of adding freon could cause the hole to get bigger. At this point, he mentions a test that can check where the leak is, which costs approx $600 and my AC has to be off for a few days. After further questions and conversation, he then mentions a less expensive test that is approx. $160. Note the leak test was not offered first. Replacing the coils was his recommendation. This did not sit well with me and decided to do more research and get a second opinion. *I had my AC inspected by another licensed/insured company and was told my freon was slightly low and it would cost $90 per pound and he will know exactly how much once starts adding it (he said it was 1-2 pounds low). I was also offered the option of a product that could repair a small leak (like a fix a flat for your tire) for $190. He said if that doesn't fix the leak, there's a chemical in it that will show where the leak is. I didn't feel pressured into thinking I had to do either as he said it was slightly low. I chose to do both. The amount of freon needed ended up being a little over a pound and I was charged $90 for it. With Hydes, I had signed up for the maintenance plan and after this experience, I asked to be refunded the second part since I do not want to have them come out again. I was told it was non-refundable.

I cannot say enough great things about Trout Electric -- and especially Aaron and Jason…read more They installed a ceiling fan in my living room, which was a particularly challenging job because there is no attic space above the ceiling. That meant everything had to be done with extreme precision and care. From start to finish, Aaron and Jason were absolutely meticulous. What impressed me most was how thoughtfully they approached the installation to minimize any drywall disruption. They made only a minimal number of very small, tidy holes to complete the wiring -- and that made patching them up afterward an absolute breeze. In a situation where things could easily have turned messy, they kept everything incredibly clean and controlled. Their attention to detail was exceptional. They took their time to ensure the fan was perfectly mounted, balanced, aligned, and functioning flawlessly. They tested everything thoroughly and made sure it was set up exactly right before leaving. Professional, courteous, detail-oriented, and clearly masters of their craft, Aaron and Jason represent Trout Electric at the highest level. I would not hesitate for a second to recommend them and will absolutely call Trout Electric again for future projects.

They were courteous and professionally and very friendly. Same experience when they came out to do the work. This team of guys is top notch and I'm so glad I decided to use them. I'd highly recommend Trout for any electric needs.

BAD EXPERIENCE WITH BRADLEY ELECTRIC. What once was a local family business has now been sold to…read moresomeone in Los Angeles who charges ridiculous rates. Bill Bradley put in all my art lights in 2017. One of the bulbs burnt out and being 77 years old, I didn't want to get on ladder to change a bulb in a high ceiling. So I called Bradley Electric and told them I was a former customer and needed help changing a light lightbulb. At the time I didn't realize it was a "different company", but I did notice the call was taken on a cell number from Los Angeles. Anyway, they came out and changed the bulb and I got a bill for $228 -- $210 labor, $18 for the bulb. Outrageous. I called and asked for a discount, he took $8 off the bulb and told me $210 was fair for the labor since he dispatched a truck. So I paid $220 to have a bulb replaced. It gets worse. They used an LED replacement for the halogen bulb saying it was now a requirement. The rep told me he did have a halogen replacement on the truck. The next day the LED bulb started flickering and went out. I called the new owner and he told me I had a bad fixture. He said they would replace the fixture at a reduced labor cost. I suggested that a halogen replacement might work. He disagreed. Not satisfied with his response, I purchased halogen bulbs on Amazon and replaced the LED with the halogen. Yes, I braved it getting up on the ladder, but it's now working fine. I found that the LED Bradley used was too big for the fixture- it was crammed it making it hard to remove. Probably the reason it was flickering. CANNOT RECOMMEND BRADLEY ELECTRIC. THEY ARE NOT THE FAMILY BUSINESS THAT WAS ONCE IN THE DESERT.

A bit of a warning--- we have been using Bradley Electric since we moved here 15 yrs ago. Recently…read morewe called them as we wanted to discuss a whole home surge protector. Hubby never got a call back after a few tries, so I called. Finally, got a return call from a mobile number I did not recognize and was told phones had been out. This should have been my first clue. While trying to set an appointment for surge protector info/view of panel, our sprinklers went out, and gardener said it was either the GFCI or a breaker. Called for an appointment. Service man came out- it was the GFCI. Was here MAYBE 30 minutes. Got the bill last week - $295. Part appx $35, yep. $210 per hour (YIKES)+ 1/2-hour additional charge (FOR WHAT?). Hubs called as I said the MAX rate for an electrician is $150, and closer to $100 in practice. Apparently, Mr. Bradley sold the firm to a guy from LA who told my husband that $210 is the going rate here and "everyone" charges that. He took $50 off the bill and husband paid it, which I am not happy about. Regardless of that, water under the bridge and the reason for my warning. This rate + additional half hour is outrageous and after years of being customers, it was truly unexpected. So just a warning as things at a great company have definitely changed. And the electrician who came out (who smelled like a walking ashtray) started looking around our kitchen and told me how our recessed lights no longer comply with a new law (Title 24 I think he said). The bulbs just need to be replaced with LED, and eventually will be, and I wondered if I was a little old lady would he scare me into a really big job? I did not like the feeling of up selling and I know some firms reward workers for this. Just a bad experience all around and very "bait and switch" as to the labor rate. Very sad so just a warning. Maybe this is an LA thing?
