Use any other service. I have Direct TV. They are much better. Unfortunatley they do not do internet in my area. I have had hours and hours of my life WASTED because this company can't provide proper service. They also refuse to adjust billing for their mistakes. This is the worst company I have done business with in recent times. Have been charged for phone/internet for years. Haven't had working phone for so long I cant remember. My wife finally stopped paying the bill. I called several times to try to get the phone service corrected. Finally I gave up months ago. I called customer service today to get an adjustment and was practically acused of making up a story. I want to clear my balance but refuse to pay for service I wasn't receiving. We'll see if they want to do the right thing. It seems like they think there are no other choices for me to spend my money with. After a third phone call this company still insists on charging me for services I was not receiving. Again there is no resolution. Just a waste of my time again. (Update! I finally paid for service I didn't recieve. Iwas told my internet would be turned on at 11:00 AM, at 4:00m pm I tried to get my internet working watsed another hour of my time. It was never hooked up! Now I've been on the phone for another 30 minutes and counting. Also lost my phone# OF 19 YEARS! IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHRER CHOICE USE IT! I finally got a customer service rep that seemed to care. Diane, she was able to credit me 2 months. Had way too many bad conversations before I ran into her. read more

I pay for the Ultimate internet speed. up to 300mbps. I am lucky to get 30.... that's 10% of the up to speed. And this is at 2 in the morning. So its not peek time. Phone help is no help. Every time I call I go through the same troubleshooting steps to end up with the same old we have to send a tech out. When the tech comes nothing will happen per norm. I would gladly change this review if they can fix the issues or only charge me 10% of the bill since that's all the speed I can get. A 5th tech will come again on Thursday. Lets see if they can fix it. read more

This place is a JOKE... I have had internet and TV service for 7 months now here in Kihei and have had a issue of my TV in both rooms cutting off every 30 minutes for 3 to 6 sec. I have had 4 people from the company out and none of them know why or can they fix it.... I asked for some kind of credit , because I pay full price and don't get full service ... I was warned by a field supervisor that if I complained they would just tell me to cancel the service.. And that they did.. Told me if I didn't like what was going on I should just cancel my service... But like anything thing else now days.. It's "All About Money"... read more

My experience with this company has been a nightmare. In short, my second month of service was paid on time via auto bill pay, however Oceanic Time Warner denies that the payment was ever made, despite the proof I presented through copies of checks, band statements, and even a letter from my bank; they maintain that they "never deposited the check". All the while, their customer service has been horrendous; representatives are not helpful or sympathetic, instead very condescending. Despite presentation of these bank statements, they still will not resolve the issue... guess I'll just have to take it to court at this point. read more

Very poor business practices. Our service is a bundle including cable tv, internet (an extra 20. a month for the highest speed) , 1 phone, 3 tv's. The monthly tv bill alone is $85. A couple months ago our internet started randomly going 'out'....sometimes coming back by itself. After many unplugs/reboots, we called and that's exactly what they had us do. They eventually sent out a tech to check out the system...he found nothing wrong, but replaced the black box anyway. A day or so later, it's out again. We called again and they said we'll send out a higher level tech to look at it. They sent out the same guy...still couldn't find anything wrong. A few days later, same issue. They said normal course of action is once they've sent out a tech 4 times in 30 days, they would escalate the issue to a higher level. So once again, it goes out and we call. They send out a third tech who also finds nothing wrong and he CHARGES US $45 for the call....OMG are you kidding? We disputed the charge immediately and it was taken off the bill. Then it goes out again the same day. Called and they said they'd send out a higher level tech, but said if he didn't find anything they would be charging the same fee as before and we would be forced to pay it. We're in the process of finding a different service. I highly advise not using this service. They never did fix the issue and should certainly have offered some sort of 'comp' for out inconvenience and trouble instead of charging us for their incompetence, with no resolve. Definitely not satisfied with their service. read more

I was wondering why my bill went up, it's to pay for the new technology which Spectrum thought we would like. NOT! Aside from problems with the new equipment, (I was pushing 4-5 buttons just to get it turned on) multiple times I went to the office here on Maui and there was a line out the door. Mostly old folks like me who couldn't figure out how to operate the new gizmo, nearly all had the box in hand. So I called with many prompts, several times, and tech help did come to my home 4 times, again costing ME money eventually, because the bill's going up,( you gotta pay those guys) and it still needs 2 buttons pushed to turn it on! This is high tech? I'm tempted to call the FCC as soon as the new bill comes...don't even get me started on those endless ads, purporting to be a "local" company. I'm giving one more star than I'd like, because when you finally get to the counter those girls are very nice. read more

The WORST!!!! If can go with Hawaiian Tel... Spectrum will give you nothing but troubles. Worst costumer service. Changes prices on you, service is always down.. If I could I would switch. Worst company on Maui! read more

I needed internet service so checked online and saw an offer of service of $44.95 for 12 months on the home page of Spectrum on Maui. When I called up I was told that that price is only available when internet is bundled with other services, and that the best price for standalone internet was $69.95/month. I said "your web site is misleading" since it didn't mention that the $44.95 price is available as part of a bundle. But I ordered the service anyway and got an email that I would be billed $69.95/month. However I still felt misled and checked the website again and still saw the offer of $44.95/month for 12 months. So I called Sprectrum again and asked why they're not honoring the offer on their website and gave them the web address where I saw the offer.. I was then told "I'll transfer you to another department". After 10 minutes on hold, someone came on the line and said "we'll give you the 44.95/month price for 12 months, after which it reverts to 69.95/month. I then received an email confirming that I would be charged $44.95 for 12 months. read more

If you like going to the DMV then you'll love coming here! Grab a number and wait in line until your of age to collect social security.... I've come to drop off a serialized cable modem linked to my account, why can't there be a simple drop box for this? Scan it know it's returned boom done don't have to wait for such a simple task. Despite the insanity the ladies working are nice. But for a technology company is crazy they don't have a simple solution for equipment returns. read more

Im trying to downgrade my internet because you get the same speeds on the 50mbp/s plan as 100mbp/s per advertisement i got mail but got the run arounds with email chat from an indian speaking person i presume also not getting the full 300mbp/s speeds 24/7 cant wait for the competition to arrive here so i can move on read more

We had to upgrade our t.v. to digital, yep, we was old school, cable from wall to t.v., but the lady at the desk said we need to connect to a box now, because starting 2017, cable from wall to t.v. is not going to work anymore. Anyways, got home hooked it up, had to call the technical support number to help us, very good and fast, but 2 days later, the t.v. didn't work, and internet didn't work. We couldn't get help from the tech support so they said they had to send someone over, and it would be 4 days later. Yep, four days of, board games, ha..ha..good family time. Anyways guy came, Wesley Ah chan..great helper, apparently he had to rewire everything from the outside in, oh boy... 2 hours later, everything worked, but the new box, sucks, so slow in changing to next channel, but I guess we gotta get use to it. As for the paying my bill at the office, easy, fast a friendly. read more

My home is 800 sq. ft.....can't get internet in my living room, only if hall door is open where router is located,sometimes.....no connection on my deck either, replaced everything 3 times, looking for another internet option, and seems like every tv channel is not available, but they don't mind taking a lot of your money for bad service....if I sit within 5 feet of the router, the slow service is great. read more

I have had nothing but issues!! I'm on my second cable box in 3 months... I constantly have service issues.. And call at least once every 2 weeks to re boot.. Totally stupid for the money we pay for cable!! But what other options do we have?? Two thumbs down!! Total suck! Would not give 1 star but it made me. read more

Grade F = A few weeks ago, I called OTWC about a vine growing/crawling up the utility pole to avoid interruption of service for many customers. The utility pole accommodates cable, phone, and electricity lines so I decided to call 3 utility companies. OTWC response, "we don't trim vines and the County is responsible". Do you believe that? Well, MECO got a grade of A since they came that same day to trim the vines. Hawn Tel got a C since they called to advise me they did see the problem and will get to it but can't say when. Finally, OTWC got an F since they decided its the County's responsibility. read more

So frustrated with the spotty internet service we have. We bought a new expensive router as Spectrum recommended and we still get bumped off the internet regularly. Disappointed that Spectrum is our only choice for high speed internet. read more

I recently talked with a representative from Time Warner Cable. The one star is for her pleasant helpful service. If not for that and it was possible I would give no stars. I inquired to have my large bundle package downgraded. She informed me that I would have to pay $49.99 to have a technician come out to do so. I asked why it was not a service that should be provided by TWC as we pay so many additional taxes, fees, and other charges. So, if it was not for OC16 I would have completely cancelled my service. I mentioned to her that a family member has had his cable removed and was charged nothing to do it. I told her it made no sense and was illogical for a person who completely removes the service to be charged no fee, and and existing customer has to pay to a technician to come out to continue with the downgraded service. I mentioned that the customer leaving has the better deal for leaving. TREAT YOUR EXISTING CUSTOMERS BETTER THAN THOSE WHO CANCEL YOUR SERVICES!!! Absolutely ludicrous!!! read more

In a word, Spectrum aka Time Warner sucks. I've been a Time Warner customer for 15 years. Finally decided to cut the cord on cable. They offer a $45 internet only package to new customers but if you have a current account they charge $67. The only way to get the $45 rate is to cancel your service for 30 days and sign up as a new customer. Way to screw over your loyal customers Spectrum. read more

the worst service I've ever had. Called tech in 3 times and still can't get it right...no internet or phone at best intermittent ... they know they have us captive and no other service to go to. Phone response time is unacceptable. Takes half hour before you can even talk with a "customer service rep". No one has a correct answer! they seem to think they can get off the responsibility by scheduling an appointment which is usually a weeek to 10 days!!! I hope someone reads this with authority to correct this. The monthly charge is off the charts... read more

Yet another one star. Brand new install. Bad service, Cable shows pixilate like crazy. Extremely slow internet. Called customer service and spoke to 2 Supervisors. No help. Negative stars if possible. This is a very unethical company. I have no problem with the staff, but the company itself. I had internet service from them for 6 weeks while in a vacation rental on Maui. At the end of 6 weeks, paid the bill in full and returned the cable box. Unfortunately I misplaced receipt. They claimed I never returned the equipment. I called them to tell them I returned the equipment, spoke with several (very nice) supervisors who told me it should be ok. I never heard anything from them for months so I assumed the situation was resolved. A few months later I get a bill for the equipment from a collections agency! Instead of sending me a bill they sent it straight to collections! I called to find out why they didn't contact me first since I was told the situation was resolved, I had no way of knowing there was an outstanding bill. First person said I was sent out a paper bill to my home address (never received).. Second person I spoke to, (supervisor) changed the story and said that actually I was only sent emails. I checked my email, my junk folder, and no emails from their company were ever sent and they could not verify that an email was sent other than " that's what the computer says". I am fairly certain a company can not send a bill to collections without contacting the costumer first. The supervisor agreed with me but could to nothing to help me. So, now I am stuck with a ding on my perfect credit score and having to pay them for equipment I already returned. I am filing a complaint with the Attorney General in Hawaii. This has to be unlawful behavior to send a bill to collections without notifying the costumer. If you can avoid this company do so at all costs. read more

lana'i residents.very poor service online,on the phone(at least 1 hour),and in the field.would try anyone but this co.

After several phone calls attempting to get a firm price for this service and what the service would cover I finally found 2 reps that actually agreed on both service and cost. At that point i made an appt. to get the service installed. Since they wont tell you when they are coming by you have to stay home from work, lose money and hope they show up when you arent out running errands. Im also gated so they cant get in without contact which they failed to do. Fortunately i happened to be out in the driveway when i noticed their truck come by or it might not have happened at all. I was please to find out their modem now contained wireless so i didnt have to use a router which they failed to inform me of so i had to go back and return the wireless router i bought because the didnt give me the information i needed at the time. The installer insisted he couldnt do it without accessing my back yard with dogs. I insisted he could and guess what...he didnt need to go in my back yard. Then he tried to tell me the thing wouldnt work because i wouldnt let him in my back yard. I told him i had confidence in him he could make it work. Guess what....he did. Then he copped attitude and left. I asked him if it was not part of his job to check to see if it was actually working on the computer. He said that was not his job he just installed the box he didnt check to see if it was working. He refused to hardwire the box to the computer and told me i would have to hire an electrician or handyman to do that. It wasnt his job. I guess TWC is all wi fi now. Gee another thing they forgot to tell me. So after many instruction and frustration after he left i finally got it hooked up to wi fi but then when i went to check the modem it was so hot i couldnt touch it. So i called them back and said hey this is going to catch fire and burn my house down. They didnt seem to care and said they could send someone out in 2 weeks to look at it. Seriously when i touched the wire it was so hot it seared my fingers and created callous like if you touched a hot pan from the stove. I was afraid to use the modem because of safety. I just had a charger get hot and burn a hole in my floor I didnt want another near 911 experience. I called back and talked to a very nice lady. She even said a supervisor would come this time. She said of course the installer was supposed to check to see if it was working and no the modem wasnt supposed to get that hot The day came when they were supposed to send another person out.. I took another day off work. Turns out she never put in the work order and no one ever showed up. I got blown off again....tiresome. Another day of losing money for no service. This free installation has now cost me nearly $300 in lost wages. So I called back again and was told no one was coming and i should just bring the hot modem into the store to exchange it. Why didnt they tell me that 2 weeks ago. So TWC gives you a month trial which is almost up but i havent had opportunity to try it because the modem wasnt safe and they wont extend the trial time nor will they financially compensate me for the lost time due to their very hot unsafe modem. They now have a monopoly in fast internet with no limit on data. I run a business and the other person here is disabled and watches netflix all day so we need fast and unlimited data. I was very happy with Clear who is going out of business. TWC needs some responsible accountable competition. read more

This has to be the absolute worst company for any services. The main issue is their internet service. Its so horrible its almost funny. I been paying for the 100Mbps plan for over a year now, and for the first 2 months everything was good, I was getting higher than 100Mbps, then I don't know what happened. After the couple of months it dropped speeds 70-80%, SERIOUSLY?!?! That ends up being the norm for months even after having techs come out 5 times to check everything and tell me that everything's fine. Yeah everything's good the 5 minutes they're there, then as soon as they're gone, back to only getting 20-30Mbps, really? I actually got a bump in service no it floats about 50Mbps, great, but THAT'S NOT WHAT I'M PAYING FOR. Now I, like most people expect to get what we pay for. I also understand that there are variations on speeds through out peak hours and such, but that should at MOST only be maybe 10-25%, not 50% and up all the time, that's just ridiculous. Even late at night speeds are a joke. Forget about calling tech support that's totally useless, most of the phone call today he sat there like an idiot and didn't bother to say anything, and when he actually did speak it was just the same old scripted nonsense they are given, then put you on hold for 20 minutes because they were going to speak to their "supervisor", then say they are going to schedule ANOTHER appointment for a tech to come out (and tell me the same thing they told me last time, and probably be the same person) only to have them transfer me to somebody in the Caribbean, HELLO I LIVE IN MAUI. This company is disgusting with horrible business practices, and only try to rip people off, you'll pay for a certain service religiously but will never receive the full services you paid for. Avoid Oceanic Time Warner like the plague! I would give negative stars if I was able to. read more
