Shout out to Greg at the Hookele Verizon store. I've been putting off getting a new phone for a long time. I had an iPhone 8. Its 2025. My camera was just about dust, the volume only worked on speaker phone, I could no longer update apps. It was time. It should be noted that I have actually gone in to get a new phone at different locations and walked out due to aggressive sales tactics and just not feeling heard. Maybe I'm stubborn, or old school but when it comes to phones, I just need it to work and take decent photos. Greg was calm, professional and understood what I wanted. He still went over all of my options and upgrade deals but did not push back when I didn't show interest in certain packages. I gave him my game plan and let him know I'm not interested in all the bells and whistles. He was very accommodating. I visited this location today excited to purchase a new phone, but the experience was incredibly disappointing. From the moment we walked in, the employee who assisted us was rude and dismissive. It felt as though she was having a bad day and taking it out on her customers. Whenever we asked for clarification on things we didn't understand, her answers were vague and unhelpful. The interaction made the entire room feel tense. To top it off, she was extremely impatient; while I was trying to read the documents I was required to sign, she actually clicked away before I could finish. Then they tell you it'll be an hour wait, put you on a list, and tell you they'll text you. But they don't text you. Worst Verizon store with the worst employees. Walked in and checked in right away -- the associate told us there were a few people ahead but several no-shows, so it shouldn't be long. We ended up waiting over two hours, and were told three different times that we were "next," only to be passed over again for people who arrived after us because they supposedly had appointments. Meanwhile, three employees stood around doing nothing. This is hands down the worst Verizon store with the worst employees. We made it clear at check-in that we were there to purchase a new phone, yet the service was still awful. I'll be switching carriers and buying my phone elsewhere. New store! New Location! Great layout with friendly staff. They are running short staffed & could use an extra body. If you are interested you can apply at the Verizon website. I saw a posting on LinkedIn that was offering a signing bonus for joining their crew. Even with being short staffed, there is a QR code you scan to check yourself in & put yourself on the guest list. Smaller location but you don't have to wait in the store. You can run errands & they will call or ping your phone when it's your turn! If you are in a time crunch, appointments are the recommended way to go or you can take advantage of in store pick up or locker pick up to grab your order & go. Data transfers are no problem it's either $30 for individual or $50 if you have multiple devices that you need the data transferred or you could simply do it yourself for free! #iamvzw #werpacific read more

Only reason this is getting 4 stars is because Volter did an amazing job with providing us excellent service! I came in to trade my phone in for the newest iPhone and there was quite a wait.. Volter seemed like the only associate greeting the customers coming in, idk if it was his designated task to be the greeter but everyone else did not seem as friendly. When it was time for us to be serviced, I was so happy to have Volter. He was so personable and was very efficient. I was wondering why it took so long because we got out of there so quick, the other associates didn't even finish with the customers from when we walked in. Sometimes you can't get the information that you need solely from online and that's where brick and mortar places like these come into play. Having a Verizon store is helpful and welcome in this regard. I came in interested in a new phone and wanted to view my options in person and walked out with a brand new device that same day. Personally, I wish the process wasn't so long (I'm sure the employees agree too) but I think my case was a little different since I was trying to consolidate lines and in truth it took a few hours for the whole thing to be completed. We had a challenge with another of our phone lines but the associates helping us were extremely transparent and explained all of the different methods that they were trying to get our phones set up. This consistent level of updates and assistance was highly appreciated. The associates who helped us made sure to notate in our account progressions so when we came in multiple times other folks helping us were aware of the situation which was nice. The system of when you'll be helped is a tad bit vague because it appears that each associate in the store has a different role. So it's best to come in with your specific ask and let the people in the immediate vicinity of the front door guide you if you need a question answered. Once you get paired up with an associate it's usually smooth sailing. The rating of the review is not for the store and its' associates who did their best to be helpful, this is in regards to Verizon set up. The way that Verizon as a company markets its process is like it should take 20 minutes maximum but in my personal experience that's hardly the case where we've had multiple visits and hours of waiting to handle set up issues. If you're coming in for any major changes to your phone plan or phone account for a few hours in your schedule just in case anything odd or complex comes up. If you are settling in for a wait this location has free WiFi available so you can stream, listen to music, check your social media accounts all without using up your data. Additionally they've got stations for phone charging and the outlets if you've got your own chargers to power up your devices. There are also six areas in the store where you can sit to relax. I'm definitely going to echo other customers that this location is open, bright, and clean which makes the in store experience better. read more

Unfortunately it appears to be in the interest of both Verizon and T-mobile to spend hours on the phone with customers and somehow pleasantly not provide adequate assistance or resolve the problem. The companies must be making money on the float . It's akin to kiting checks but they shamelessly consume your life's time and it's reprehensible. Came in on Black Friday because the mister wanted to inquire about an email he got. 2 1/2 hour wait ‍ Besides the loooong wait, you're allowed to browse in the store. I love their open floor format. It allows the place to be roomier with half of Maui shopping trying to strike a deal. The store is clean, lots of products to choose from and play with. Customer service is probably great and considering it was Black Friday I knew there would be a wait time. I just didn't think 2 1/2 hours long. My first bad experience started when I traded in my old phone. I was told I would be getting about $900 for it, but I was not told that the $900 would be credited to my account monthly, in $20 increments. With that, I was trapped in a two-year contract. My monthly bills were inconsistent, and no one could explain why. Finally, I was able to get out of the contract, and a few weeks after I closed the account, I was still charged $12.47 on my bank account. On my first phone call, the lady was very helpful and said that the money would be credited back to my account as it was a mistake. Weeks later, I called again as there was no money received. That person told me to go into the store where I bought the phone because they would refund me the money. That was wrong. The salespeople were very nice and tried to help me, but I had no luck. I was told that I needed to go to the main store near Target in Kahului, so I did. I waited more than an hour for my turn, and I was assured by the manager that the money would be credited to my bank account. Three weeks passed, and there is still no money today Dec. 28. I know $12.47 is not much, but Verizon had no right to deduct it from my bank account, and no one can reverse the charge. I would never deal with them if I were you, EVER! read more

Yo, shoutout to homegirl Regina. I made the mistake of ordering the new iphone online through verizon thinking it was gonna be easy. Dead wrong. Long story short there was an issue with my order, and the verizon app said I needed to call in to get it sorted. Then when I called I was either met with 20 minute wait times and they would then hang up on me, or they'd tell me to use the digital assistant, who would then tell me to call. It was like a serpent eating its own tail, but on an infinite scale. I'm talking like 6 hours of my life I can never get back, two full viewings of Titanic. So I made an appointment and Regina stepped up and manhandled those callcenter clowns. She asked if it was ok to speak on my behalf, and I gave her full license to do what was necessary. And cousin, she was like Walter White circa Season 5 of Breaking Bad. She took no half measures and handled it. Every year I somehow convince myself I need a new phone and in store has been a great experience. Drove down into Kahului to check out a holiday trade in offer for my phone and was helped by Hayze. I told him I was interested in the trade-in offer and he said I was eligible and asked about the condition of my old phone, which was perfect. He got very excited about trying to push accessories and additional insurance (for home electronics)on me, even adding over 100 dollars of accessories onto my purchase without explaining or asking. The accessory I did ask for was a Lifeproof case, which he told me he would get for me. I thought it was weird because I've always picked my case, but when he came back with a black one I figured it was the only color option they had. I asked about the additional 100 dollars of accessories when my total was so much higher than expected and he said the new charger was different and I would need to buy it because it wasn't included. Well, my old charger worked just fine when I got the phone home, which kinda confirmed the feeling he was more interested in his commission than helping me, but the real kicker is that I went though the bag he sent me home with and there was no return box for my old phone, which I was made to understand I would need to immediately send back to Verizon quickly to get the credit for the upgrade. Because of my location and work hours it was not possible for me to go back into the store easily, so I attempted to call. After several phone calls and several transfers, I got the customer care team on the phone who looked up my account and informed me Hayze hadn't even put the trade-in into the system- an 800 dollar credit which was the ENTIRE REASON I GOT THE NEW PHONE. I was blown away. I wound up on the phone for over an hour trying to get this situation figured out. One last thing on him picking out the color of my phone case... , as my phone was transferring and I was walking around the store, I saw that there had been multiple color choices for the phone case I bought. I had already paid and he had opened the case so I didn't say anything but you would think that If someone is paying 100 bucks for a phone case you would at least let them pick the color! While there may be great help at this store, my experience was not a good one and I am still dealing with trying to get the billing/phone situation figured out, which is pretty frustrating. read more

Verizon has always been the worst experience. My phone has been "searching" for cellular since Thursday 02/03 and customer service has been giving me the run arounds. It is now 02/08, 30 mins shy of 02/09. I went in person to a Verizon store to help me figure this out, they said I need to update my phone. I tell them I tried and it stayed on "verifying update" all night. So they tell me I need to use iTunes and once it updates it should work. I Updated my phone to the latest iOS on Friday 02/04 after it taking about 3 hours to update and it's still "searching". I contact customer service again and they tell me that it's apple that I need to contact because Verizon only deals with data and cellular. That's exactly what I'm having problems with, DATA & CELLULAR! i constantly have to repeat myself and answer the same questions over and over again. This is RIDICULOUS! I basically have an iPhone that works properly only with wifi, I still cannot receive or make phone calls or texts. Why am I even paying for the service if the cellular and data is not working! Upon buying a phone they seemed eager and helpful... once the phone came in and I had questions I drove back there several times after I wasn't able to find answers online or on you tube ~only to be told , "I don't know (and the worker WALKED AWAY to assist someone buying a phone ), and by another worker I was told , " I can't help you. I recently had a life changing event occur and as part of it, lost my phone. I went in, met Regina and her fellow co workers and managers. All I can say is that they were completely sympathetic to my situation and helped me get back on my feet and in touch with the world. I have had many years of love/hate with cell phone providers but verizon and especially Regina stepped up and made my day. 5 stars for Gregg as he is an amazing person and great for the company. 1 star for their horrible manager Shawnna. I wanted to upgrade my line which is fully eligible and go from a tablet to a phone. She said I can't because it's "policy" and her district manager won't allow it. So basically they want me to not upgrade so I'll cancel my line before tying anymore contracts to Verizon. They care more about their revenue goals then taking care of the customer. Shame on u Verizon and Shawnna and her District Manager. Also, have some floor presence. The time it takes to have ur people walk back and get approvals for every little thing is stupid. Then they kick it back there for 5-10 min while us customers wait and a normal 30 minute transaction takes over an hour. Get your stuff together. read more

Beware of Verizon, Maui -- Bait and Switch sale practices. We went to the Verizon booth at the Maui County Fair on Sunday, October 9, 2016. They had a prize wheel at their booth. Since there were NO disclaimers on the prize wheel stating that you need to purchase anything or be a Verizon customer, we spun the wheel. To our surprise, we landed on the "A FREE TABLET" spot. We were extremely excited to claim our prize!! The verizon guy then offered us an additional promotion (Verizon "Hotspot" device) to sweeten the prize package. However, we were NOT interested in getting a hotspot for the tablet or the house, so we passed on his "special" promotion. The guy then told us that we needed to pay the sales tax on full value of the tablet, which he estimated to be around $25, which wasn't bad for a new tablet. However, after working the numbers backwards, they were pricing the tablet to be around $600!!! However, since we still thought $25 for a new tablet was okay, we then sat down with the guy to pay for sales tax. However, he then asked us for our mobile number and the PIN number to our account. Since we did NOT have a verizon account, we could not provide him with the PIN number. He then told us that we would need to open a new verizon account with a data plan in order to get the "free" tablet. The lowest plan they had was $30 or $40. We told him that we were only paying $10/month for our T-mobile plan, which also had unlimited data and was not interested in opening a new account for a tablet. We stated that we thought the tablet was "free" and was not going to open any new accounts. He insisted that the tablet was only "free" if we had an existing verizon account and added a data plan for the tablet. We were disappointed at Verizon's bait and switch sales tactics... The verizon guy took the tablet back and we left the booth empty handed. The rest of the day at the fair was ruined because of this bad experience which left a bitter taste in our mouth as we felt we got cheated out of our prize. As I stated before, there were NO asterisks or disclaimers for any of the prizes on the prize wheel. I would not recommend Verizon to anyone. They were pretty sketchy about honoring prizes on their prize wheel at a County Fair.... can you really trust them to give you a good deal on your phone or mobile plan?!? BUT. . . for the past 10 years I was fooled into converting a grandfathered unlimited data plan...My bill went up from $78 family plan to a $199 with a measly 10GB data...We have family in Japan and the international roaming sucks! Because these are main points for me and my family we opted for T-Mobile and the international roaming can't be beat! Data is free of extra charges on the Simple Choice plans. So. . . Staying local and USA? Verizon. . .if you can stand all the extra charges. Hawaii, USA and Japan? . . .T-Mobile can't be beat. read more

My Verizon location of choice. This store, at the Maui Marketplace, has been open for over 10 years. It carries a large selection of mobile devices, tablets and accessories. The staff is amazing, as I have gone in there with issues for my phone and they've always been friendly and helpful. Quick service is a great thing. The only thing about this place is that it can get packed after work on the week days (and on the weekends) where the wait can be 20 minutes. read more

I always have a problem when I come here, every time I've gotten a phone here it's not set up right or there's a problem and then I have to get Verizon customer service involved. I wouldn't have even come here but I needed a phone that day and they were the only ones with any in stock. They really need more training, no one here knows what they're doing.
