It's not about this specific spectrum store, it's about this company, spectrum. I used to use ATT, but they are getting more pricey, so I thought maybe it's a good time to try out something less expensive but also good. When I first went into the store, the sales and people in there were nice, they started to tell me how good spectrum was and what they are comparable to other internet carriers. So I got a very good price with my internet and mobile bundle with spectrum. When I was using ATT, I got a 300 mbps, and it works fine and quick. With Spectrum, since I know they might run little slower, so I got a 1000mbps plan, and the lady even told me most likely they run more than 1000. So if you get 1000, you probably getting 1100mbps, so I left like other happy customers. BUT when I download the speed check app on my phone, a 1000 mbps only runs up to less then 400.....I called them and they said the plan is 1000, but it sometimes due to the signal around my area....LOL ok...fine... But It's been about two months now, this week the home internet went off twice, I was watching TV and all a sudden the TV disconnected...my cousin was doing homework online...THIS NEVER happened to ATT... Neverless, the mobile network is running crazily slow! I couldn't even log into my bank app! This is crazy and I have never had experience this situation with ATT.....I am not sure what happened, but I am pretty sure I am going to switch soon.... Also! One of my friend had canceled the service with them, but a month later spectrum mail her a letter, and ask her to pay more than 200 for her bill, but she has already cancelled it. Plus! The plan she had with spectrum wasn't even that expensive!!! She even called spectrum and check the account number, it wasn't even the one she used before!!! And spectrum said, it's for sure her service so she needs to pay, if not, she can file a claim with the police and send spectrum back a repot. So it took her three months to cancel something she didn't purchase!! ITS CRAZY!! I even thought maybe someone in the shop needed to meet their goal for the month, so they used my friend's information to register another account and forgot to cancel it. read more

If I could give less than one star I would!!! I have had cable service for over 30 years without any problems.... Until about two to three years ago!!!! The price keeps going up (almost $200.00 a month now) and the quality keeps going DOWN!! Both the cable and internet will go 'down' every other month and then works for 5 days then back down (thank God I never got their phone service, or I would not be able to call them) I call them, and they say there is nothing wrong. They sent out a technician who said he 'cleaned' up the lines. This DID NOT solve the problem.. Again, the service went 'down' on August 25 for over 9 hours, and again on August 30th for over 7 hours!! They just forced me to get a 'new' cable box. There was nothing wrong with the old one. This 'new' box is obviously made with way less quality than the old box, it does not have a clock, it has way less outlets to plug in my speakers, AND it keeps turning off.. He was rude and dismissive, and either wouldn't or couldn't help me. I understand some issues must be handled by the corporate office. I recently switched to Frontier...1/2 the price & twice the speed of Spectrum. I had had TimeWarner/Spectrum for about 15 yrs, & was loyal customer! I cancelled Spectrum on 8/28/2021. When, I called about the final bill, I was told that I had to pay the entire $119.98 for the period of 8/23/21 to 09/22/21. I explained that I only used their service for 5 days...did not matter, I was still required to pay for the entire month!!! This is really a ripoff & poor customer service to have to pay for a full month, when I only used them 5 days! Plus, when I returned the equipment, they were somewhat rude. The store manager Luis was at first open to listening but once we started talking about the problems we have been experiencing with our internet and how it was not fair that we're paying for 1G of internet yet everyday for the past week or two the internet has been down and that we deserve some kind of compensation he immediately started to laugh and made comments to his associate making it seem like we were just trying to scam them. Got a new router, so went to return my Spectrum one w/o making an appointment. I'd suggest others do that. However, my experience was a good one. They have a computerized check-in that shows you were you are in line up on the screen, which I really like. They did a great job of going through the line up of people at a good pace and I was able to turn in my equipment (and will hopefully see the charge erased on my bill next time) and get out of there pretty quickly. The door is open so you can wait outside and just check the screen if you don't feel safe inside. But everyone was wearing masks and standing at a distance and the staff was friendly and efficient. read more

UPDATE: I bite the bullet and left Frontier since they did nothing to stop RoboCalls. Spectrum advertises that they offer a free Robo blocking service. What joke. I'm at my desk daily and still get from two to 12 R calls daily. I had to buy a Panasonic Cordless just for the blocking feature but even that phone has 1500 max and many are already built into the unit to automatically block. Even if Spectrum's system worked, it's a joke because it limits you to only 30 Robo call numbers which you post manually in the voice section of your account on their website. Anyone bothered by Robo's knows 30 can easily be obtained in days or one week. So basically they are dishonest to say they block Robos. Most of these phone calls are listed online as Robo call with a WARNING. YET Spectrum lets them through. Anyway gotta go because I just got off the phone with a Prince on his own Island so I have to fly there to get the millions he said was willed to me. I'm supposed to send a check for $1000 first then get the address. read more

They billed me at the beginning of every month, but the game was my billing actually started on the 15th. I paid $91 per month for 300 Mbps connection. Frontier has a 500 Mbps up and down for $39.99 so I switched over. I cancelled Spectrum on the 17th, they took $91 for August and $91 for September because I cancelled on the 17th (2 days after my billing cycle started). I have my own modem and router (because it's superior to the junk they hand out) Spectrum then tries charging me for a modem and router that I never received (because they're gangsta and are willing to extort more money from me) From the start of my service to the end, the only MAC address on my account is that of my own modem, not theirs. I suggest going to Frontier, because it's $51 dollars cheaper for almost twice the speed + they have pro-ration which means they don't charge you 100 bucks for a month of service if you cancel 2 days into the next month, they just charge you for the 2 days you used. After my experience, I suggest steering clear of this company, it's headed up by pirates and extortionists. read more

Spectrum has too many hidden charges!! Be very careful with their $29.99 cable+internet+phone and free DVR advertisement. It's all false, I actually let it fly when they said it's $29.99 each plus taxes. I was okay paying $120/month because the service and connection were really good at first, even they didn't install the phone line. I thought we had a great deal and services, so I didn't complain. After a year, their service and on demand connectivity starts turning into trash. Then my bill is getting higher and higher, from the $120/month they started charging me $200+ a month. Last November 2018 I paid $250. Then now $300+ bill?! I never missed my payment, we paid every month. I talked to their customer service and she said that they DVR are not free and some other items are like $9.99 each every month. On top of that, she also stated that they have multiple price hike last year and this year. They can't do anything about the bill, so I am in the market looking for another cable and internet service. read more

Where do I start with Spectrum services? Really, my story is similar to others who were swayed by their false promises of fast and reliable internet service at a great price. Don't get me wrong, the first 2 years was the "honeymoon phase" where Spectrum far-exceeded my expectations. Once we graduated out of this phase, my bill was higher (which is to be expected), but the service was not so great. We experienced bouts of internet outages here and there, but never something so drastic as to raise a red flag. My bill has increased incrementally through these past 5 years and I just grinned and put up with it. With this Pandemic that has affected the entire world, internet providers were ill-prepared to handle all the workers who were sent home to work from home. Spectrum tops the charts of inconsistent and unreliable internet service known to man! I have received SO MANY negative reviews from other subscribers that I'm completely blown-away that nobody has reported them to the Better Business Bureau! For the past month, Spectrum internet service has dropped me NUMEROUS times throughout the day and really puts a damper on me as I work from home 100% of the time. Mind you, before this past month, I was still experiencing outages, but not as bad. As of last Thursday, 7/8/21, I was completely cut-off from the internet because the Spectrum rep felt that I was on an overloaded channel and proceeded to change me to another one. Then POOF, NO MORE INTERNET for me and they couldn't change me back citing that it's an equipment issue. I was better-off not calling and stuck with the inconsistent outages. Of course, I was not pleased when this happened, along with their feedback that the other earliest a technician is available was on Saturday, 7/10/21. I nearly lost it and I was told to call back on Friday, 7/9/21 to see about a same-day service arrangement. Luckily a technician was in the area and assessed the issue. He determined a new modem was needed and replaced it. For about 30 minutes, I had internet connection and then again with the intermittent service. At this point, I sighed and said, I am paying way too much for a 400mbps plan to get a speed of BARELY 100mbps. I ended-up having to go into work to complete my job because Spectrum FAILED yet another customer. Please note, I switched from Frontier FiOS back in 2016 to THIS?! Frontier at the time had HORRIBLE customer service and customers were forced to pay Verizon prices. That is the ONLY reason why I switched from my lightning-fast fiber optic connection to Spectrum. Needless to say, I am now FORCED to drop Spectrum because they are NOT GETTING IT DONE! For those considering Spectrum...DON'T! I am so disgusted with them, I don't even want to call to speak with a manager! As I type this lengthy review, I'm looking at my internet connection drop EVERY 3 MINUTES!!! read more

First day we came in he says oh the system went down lol how is the system down when the other employees are using the same computer system, so he rights down everything and tells us to call spectrum to order our phone. They tell us we have to do it in store, so we go back the next day first in line, guess who we get,that's right Mr. Sukcs we tell him they said to do it in store, so now he says we have to pay off the phone first, I tell him no we don't he won't listen to us and he can't help us unless we pay off the phone. Her statement that, "If you can tie your shoes, you can install a cable box". Well, had they given me the right modem, I might have had a chance. Rude customer service team! Long story short, they only gave us one replacement even though we needed 3. We were told that based on our area they only get "X" amount available. I do not like that they offer no incentives to stay on as a customer, much the opposite. They raised our prices every year with no reasoning. The package never changed. I was there to turn in boxes after finally cancelling my service. I gave them the stars because the manager that Saturday am went above to fix errors the phone rep made and made it easier to return equipment. This is an operation that really needs to have a zero star rating, a one is far too generous. I was helping my sister in law move from her Spectrum service area to Utah which does not have Spectrum. She has been a customer for some 25 years, and I am sure was never so much as late on her bill. Before returning equipment, and closing the account we asked three different Spectrum employees about maintaining her email she has had for 25 years. All assured us the email would remain, regardless of the fact she no longer had an account, or that she was no longer in the service area of Spectrum. We even stated we would be willing to maintain a minimum account in order to keep the email. Again we were assured the email would be maintained. It was all a lie, and email was gone the next day. Bottom line, after hours of phone calls to many different customer service agents, nothing can be done right when she is in need of many email transactions due to her home move.
