Great office and team! I have a very high prescription, and it's a pain to find contacts that fit well. So when I moved away from my previous optometrist whom I had seen for over a decade, I dreaded looking for a new doctor. Yet, Spectrum turned out to be great! First of all, it's really easy to make an appointment here. It's in the same plaza as Kroger's, which I frequent, and you can schedule and modify appointments online on their website. Amazing. Why doesn't every office do that? Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, Dr. Tran is good. She found the best fit for me, and again, that's not an easy task because I require trials. I also absolutely adore Hazy. She is so patient and friendly, and it is actually apparent that she loves helping people. Check out also the glasses that are available here. They carry cute frames of all brands and many that won't break the bank! Putting them on my Best of Houston list after two visits! Edit: I am surprised by many reviews that claim they can't get a prescription from here. What do you mean? This is an optometrist's office. They have to provide you the prescription, if you paid to get the glasses/contacts exam. read more

I have been going to Dr Tran for many years, the first time for an emergency. She took me right in and I was given antibiotics and had a fol up visit. She is thorough and is happy to explain what she is doing and takes the time to answer questions. The staff is friendly, helpful, and they go above and beyond to make sure that my needs are met when it comes to choosing glasses that will fit within my insurance coverage and my budget. i have recommended Dr Tran to several people. I went to get an eye exam and the staff at Spectrum Eye Care on Eldridge were incredible. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. Dr Tran is good at her job and I would recommend her. However, the office staff is a mess. They are rude and pushy. I am shocked to see a associate at this office try to put contacts in a patients eye without washing her hands and with super long fake nails. She even tried to lie about what coverage we had. They need to run this lady off before I would ever go This post is not in violation of Yelp's policy per Yelp. Nightmare!! Terrible service! Took 2 1/2 months to get a Contact Lenses Prescription. No Joke!

If I could give them zero Stars I would, the customer service is terrible. We got our eyes checked in January here we are at the end of March and still have not received our contacts. Then they won't give me the contact prescription becuase we are only allowed to purchase contacts through them! If they would have told me that from the beginning I would have never gone to them in the first place. Now they aren't sure how much longer until I can get my contacts, they won't give me a refund or my contact prescription. Literally the worst place ever! DO NOT GO HERE! read more

Called three days ahead for an eye exam. The receptionist was very helpful on the phone. Upon arrival, both of the front receptionist were very quick and efficient with the pre eye exam tests. Dr. Tran was very helpful with the selection of my transitional lenses for my new frames. The price is affordable and I would definitely recommend this place! Absolutely terrible staff. I came in to look at some frames to see if I was going to purchase eyeglasses at this location and it was an entire situation. First of all they lock the doors and you have to use an intercom system in order to be let in. I was first in line after four other people had fallen behind me within ten mins, (I pressed the call button about 7 times) and I kept trying to call to get in; no answer. I then physically called her phone number after an older couple asked if I could call the store number so they could go inside for their appointment. So I did, she proceeded to let everybody else in and still told me to just wait outside because there's too many people inside and I didn't have an appointment. I proceeded to say I spoke to someone on the phone about purchasing glasses and contacts and they said I could come in to look at the frames when I asked to verify my insurance at their location earlier. There was literally three people inside and whatever staff members were behind the walls that I could not see. So three customers that's it, for all this unnecessary attuide. Then when I was finally let in, asked to wash my hands. In which I did no problem.I said I wanted to try on glasses (I need at-least two pairs) they said they had to unlock them and I had to put them separately back so they can be disinfected after, I proceeded to take about 7-10 pairs and go walk to the mirror to look and see which ones I perfer. The girl walks around and goes "you're only allowed to try on four" which by the way, was never told to me. Then she goes, "are you done with these?" I said "no, I'm going to decide, just trying on a few more," and she goes "it makes it to hard to decide between them when you have too many to choose from" and I stoped and looked at her and saw she rolled her eyes and proceeded to ask another staff member for a box that can hold four frames at a time and then walked away. I put them in the box and she huffed at me all aggravated and that was the final straw. So I was embarrassed that I was even there and she made me look incompetent and couldnt believe the audacity to talk to me like that when I was proceeding to spend over 1k for two pairs of glasses/lenses and a year worth of contacts. I was like you know what...I put them down, avoided any kind of confrontation and went to walk out, but had to have the girl come unlock the door, also frustrating, and she didn't try to apologize or ask if anything was wrong, or I liked any of the frames etc. Just absoutlely terrible customer service and she was glad I was probably there less than 5 mins. So avoid the hassle and go somewhere else like I am now. I don't write reviews often, but I felt the need to let everyone know just how bad that was. read more

The staff is very friendly and the doctor explained stuff and wasn't above giving me trials for my contacts until we found a fit that made me comfortable. If they had questions on what i wanted then they would call and ask me. I would recommend everyone to come to them. Also, with my glasses they had the nice brands not all that cheap stuff. We have found our new eye doctor. I was leaving Kroger's when I saw there was a eye specialist in the same centre so I made an appointment for the next day and the visit went better than expected. I write this review because through my young adult life till now, I have felt like a dollar sign or just another patient when visiting the other vision specialist. I hope future visits will be just as consistent in customer service and in product selection and in return they will have a happy family of patients. read more

Recently visited Spectrum Eye Care of N. Eldrige. I am a diabetic and was concerned about my blurry vision. The staff was freindly and Dr. Tran was very informant with any questions i had. I went to her becouse it is conveniently located right next to my job, but will return becouse of the service. Their staff is incompetent. I ordered prescription glasses from them and 3 months and 8 visits later they still haven't got them right. Either they mess up the size on the lens or scratch it while replacing it. This is the worst experience I have had in terms of ordering glasses. read more

A few months ago I ordered my glasses they called me 2 weeks later that it was ready. Picked my glasses up and the lense were scratched so had to wait another week. Gave them another try and it went well. Now The last visit I've had here wasn't what I expected. I believe they tried to over charge me before seeing the doctor, I wasn't going to pay for that then the price change real quick. I won't be visiting this place anymore. Me and my son signed up for an appointment with Tran, because of the previous positive feedback on yelp. She was 30 minutes late to the office, so everybody had to wait for 30 minutes plus. When we finally got to see her, she was very distant, not friendly at all. She did not know the answer to my questions. Later she volunteered on her own to let me know everybody gets cataracts, even I knew that less than 50 percent of elderly in united states gets cataract. The prescription for my son's glasses were so off, that even I noticed it. I made an appointment with a real optometrist and after the examination, showed him the prescriptions from Tran. He told me that the numbers were so off that it would have damaged both our eyes wearing them. I am sure that majority of the positive feedback on her yelp site are from herself or her friends. I only put this feedback so no one else gets conned and have their eye site ruined by an incompetent optometrist. read more
