We just had the perfect visit with Dr Cecilia Nguyen and her staff. From the moment you walk in you are greeted with nice smiles. Dr Nguyen is very attentive and takes time answering questions and concerns. She is gentle and kind. She explains your eye condition and how to improve your eyesight. We were given the options for eyes glasses according to our insurance benefits and were helped by Andrea who gave us many options to choose from. Everyone in this office was very caring and very knowledgeable. Excellent people. read more

Today we had a visit to Dr. Chapman at Today's Vision Barker Cypress for our annual eye checkup for my kids. Throughout the visit, she consistently spoke to us in a patronizing manner. She also spoke over us and wouldn't listen to us when we we're trying to tell her about our problems. She frequently contradicted herself, first saying one thing and then later stating the opposite on various matters. Despite our explicit instructions in the in-take form that we did not want eye dialysis, she proceeded to perform it on both of my children without my consent. Even when I reiterated that I did not want it for myself as it might impact my driving back home, she went ahead with the procedure. In the end, she concluded that there were no changes in our conditions despite the conflicting information she had provided throughout the appointment. My drive back home was extremely difficult and I had take multiple breaks for 15 min drive. read more

Visited the other day for an eye concern my mom had. A friend recommended the office. We booked an appointment online and were sent the paper. So efficient! Dr. Nguyen as well as all the staff were awesome. We were greeted right away and they had hand sanitizer and everyone wore masks. Dr. Nguyen wore gloves which was nice. She was kind and culturally responsive to my mom's beginner English. She answered all my questions and I didn't feel rushed at all which can sometimes happen with doctors. Ultimately, one of the best experiences we've had at an optometrist. Oh, and we were in and out in 30 minutes! I also think this is a new office. Different than the ones in the photos. We brought our six year son to this office for an eye exam last weekend, and he came down with pink eye two days later. I had just given birth to a baby the day before his eye appointment. The baby was in the NICU, so, we were extremely careful to not be around any other people during this time to protect the baby. On top of that, CFISD was out of school last Monday and Tuesday, so, the pink eye most definitely came from this doctor appointment. We had to make arrangements for my 6 year old to stay with a sitter while we brought the NICU baby home. Two days after the six year old was able to come home, the babysitter got pink eye. The office staff was nice, and offered to call in eye drops (however that was after the pharmacy had closed for the day and they wanted me to bring him back in to their office for a second visit - nope!!). I have zero patience for an unclean doctors' office. I DO NOT recommend this optometrist. read more

I was fairly happy with this office when I came in, at first. But then as things progressed it got worst. I was getting an exam for my boys and me. Everything was fine, it was small details that bothered me, but I tend to overlook things like that most of the time. We were the only customers in the office when we came in, so all three ladies at the counter were attending to us. But on the way out there were some other customers in there, and all three ladies completely neglected to acknowledge our departure. This was our first time at this optometrist office and I can't say that I am very happy with the service. The doctor is very nice and courteous overall. But I was not happy with the fact that she did not listen to what I was trying to tell her about my problem with contacts. I still can't wear contacts because the ones she gave me did not work. She told the girls to schedule a follow-up for the contacts ( I paid out of pocket for the exam), and none of them did so. I'm just too upset about the fact that the level of caring for the patient was just not there. The girls at the counter act too casual and do not have the level of professionalism I expect when visiting a legitimate establishment. I think they all can use a class for customer service skills. I worked in customer service for many years and this office lacks the basic customer service skills. One of the girls looks like she came straight out of high school. But it's not the look that bothered me, it's the lack of experience that really showed. Another problem I have, which triggered all these negative emotions to expand much more, is the fact that someone messed up getting my lenses ordered correctly. And when I called the lady on the phone told me that I did not order the AG coating. I was so upset, I could hardly contain myself from being extremely rude to her. I told her that I checked my receipt and I paid for it. I told her to recheck the records in their system and correct the error. So on top of the fact that they messed up on my lenses, they did not expedite them the second time around. The way I see it, the lenses are already in the frame, it should not take long to have them coated and ship back. Second, the doctor's office should pay for the expedited deliver service. I do not appreciate being accused of something that was their mistake, and on top of that having to wait even longer to receive my new glasses. So at this point it has been over two weeks that I have been waiting for my glasses. Very poor customer service. Considering that I brought my boys to this office and a total of three customers, they should have done better taking care of our needs. I will not be going back here again. Ladies at Todays' Vision on Barker Cypress, here are a few lessons to learn: 1. Pay close attention to the customer in the lobby (stay off your phones!!) 2. Make sure to get all orders correctly for multiple people in one party. 3. Before you accuse the customer for your mistake, check your records first!! (This is a big one ladies) 4. Ensure the customer comes back to this office by offering to remedy the situation and pay to expedite the delivery of the glasses. 5. Apologize for the mistake. (Not one person in this office offered and apology for their mistake, especially after accusing me for something they did.) 6. Learn how to smile genuinely. This is the number one rule for proper customer service. People can tell when you are fake. 7. Do not ask a mother to wait in the lobby while her child or children are in the office with the doctor. Offer her to go in there and join the kids. Especially that there is plenty of room in there. 8. And finally for the doctor, please listen closely to your customers. I told you I have dry eyes, you saw that I have dry eyes, and you still gave me contacts that do not work with my eyes. You did not make sure that your nurses scheduled the follow-up appointment for me, even though you had no other customers to service. This is very poor management of this office. read more

I had such a wonderful experience at Today's Vision last week. I think the place is under a new doctor so ignore the other yelp reviews. The place looks completely different from the photos I see on here. Dr. Nguyen was my optometrist. She was super thorough and made my eye exam extremely enjoyable. I got a great pair of glasses and I'm definitely recommending this place. read more

Wow. Dr called me 15 minutes before my sons appt today and told me because we left a less than favorable review (she said on yahoo, but this is Yelp) refuses to see us. Fine with me. This office is so disconnected from how you can learn from customer experiences, I'm sure they can afford to lose customers. "If you were unhappy, why would you come back?" Was her feedback to me, instead of "we are sorry about your experience last time, how can we improve?". Good luck with that. 315pm, parking lot empty. Again. I love Dr. Tran. I've been seeing her for almost a decade now. The reason why I've followed her (she used to be at JCPenny optical) is because other optometrists messed up my prescription, and I went to an expensive ophthalmologist to get it done. Then, I found her. She has never gotten it wrong. While sometimes her front staff may need assistance, I think the important part to remember is you are getting a quality eye exam from a knowledgable and amazing eye doctor. read more

My family and I have been going to Dr. Tran for almost 20 years ever since she was at Willowbrook in JCPenny. There were a couple times we had to see other doctors due to changes with our insurance but no one was comparable to Dr. Tran! She's down-to-earth, approachable, and has great bedside manner! Her staff are just as friendly and awesome! The waits are usually under 15 min unless they're super booked. They take great care of me and my family and has not once disappointed us in anyway. I love Dr. Tran and her staff and refer all of my friends and family to her! We'll continue to see her for many years to come! I highly recommend this Today's Vision in Cypress!!! read more

I am a new patient. Dr. Tran and the staff are the best! I felt like I was important to them the entire time I was there. Dr. Tran is pleasant and easy to converse with. She answered all of my questions and spent quality time describing the overall health of my eyes. I received excellent care and will definitely be returning as a patient!
