10/10 love Dr.Tsao and his staff. Dr.Tsao is caring and considerate of his patients. My appointments never feel rushed. I love that he explains and elaborates medical terminology ensuring you understand. He helps find the problem and solution. The office is also very nice. Definitely recommend! read more

10 out of 10, I was told I need glasses, this was a shock to me, I've always had 2020|2025 vision since the army, that was 8 years ago. I'm 30+, moved to Texas and while exchanging my CA drivers license I failed the "vision test" I immediately left and found the closest Optometrist to my home and from the moment I walked in the door, I felt a genuine sense of relief. The team was so nice, cordial, conversative, and attentive. I would go back just for the atmosphere and conversation. Dr. Jonathan Tsao is excellent, everything you'd hope for in a highly qualified optometrist. I have 4 in-stock frames that I've purchased and 2 I've ordered and will have eye theory order lenses for. You can bring any frame you've loved including cheap $2 sunglasses from gas stations you're fond of. Every time I find out I have to stop by Eye Theory, I get as excited as going to my favourite Haircutters. You will too =) Yes, the prices are high, but the technology, courtesy, attention, and deals are so good, I've set them up as my primary vision services provider (VSP) for my DeltaVision benefits. Lenses are polycarbonate, free Blue Light and Anti-glare upgrades. Lenses within 5-7 business days. I'm very happy with the professionalism and courtesy of the team. 10 out of 10, physically unbeatable =) read more

I tried an online eyeglass business that promised fast service. The specs came fast, but weren't completely correct. So I noticed Eye Theory was highly rated, and made an appointment. VERY nice assistants, very nice doctor. And my glasses took about two weeks, but the prescription is right! Go see these folks!!! read more

So happy with my experience at Eye Theory! Came to get a new glasses/contacts prescription. Upon entering, I was offered water or sparkling water, and they sat down with me to explain the breakdown of costs and what my insurance would and wouldn't cover. I then went into a room where they performed 4 different tests, most of which I have never had before--I was so impressed with the technology they had at the office! Finally, I sat down with Dr. Tsao, and he went through my results and did some reading exams. Dr. Tsao is so knowledgeable, thorough, and great at explaining things in scientific yet simple terms. He diagnosed me with astigmatism in both eyes (which my previous doctor had never even mentioned), and he examined my eyes further when I mentioned I was experiencing dry eye with my contacts. Turns out my eyes are extremely dry (which I kinda already knew hahah--but it's nice to be officially diagnosed) and I'll be back for more testing in a week. At the end of my appointment, they gave me a little time to look at the frames they had, but never once pressured me to purchase. I was very happy about this, since I was not intending to buy frames that day, and one of my main issues with optometrists is the pressure to buy on the spot. Overall, super impressed with the manner of both the office staff and Dr. Tsao. Highly recommend! read more

Found Eye Theory Midtown when in search of a long overdue eye exam and chose them because of their raving reviews and proximity to my house. As soon as you walk in, you feel as if you're in a luxury optometrist's office. Everything is clean, spaced out perfectly, and my OCD self was very pleased. The office staff was extremely kind and helpful in teaching me how to wear contact lenses and helping me find a pair of glasses that was perfect (no exaggeration, perfect) for my face shape. Dr. Tsao is extremely knowledgeable and personable and took the time to explain every single test result for me. 10/10 recommend! read more

Great visit from the moment I arrived to the moment I received my new glasses! The ladies in the front were sweet. Very clean and impressive technology. Dr.Tsao was kind and informative. He even checked out some other concerns I had with my eyes and gave me great recommendations. Emma was very helpful with the process of choosing what I was going to do for my glasses. I received them quickly and am excited to wear them! I highly recommend this office! read more

not impressed with the staff especially the girl who checks you in. They were all busy gossiping and were not welcoming even a little. Super expensive eye exam but they don't say cost upfront bc it "depends on what is needed for testing ". I paid 6 times what I paid last year and that was with a real doctor, an ophthalmologist. Strong push to buy their eye wash products at ridiculous prices not happy to give prescriptions bc want you to order from them and their super jacked up prices. talked us into contacts ....there was a reason no one else suggested these...they don't work area with a lot of foot traffic....steps from metrorail. Expensive mistake. I don't believe any of their reviews but you can be the judge. Don't say I didn't warn you! read more

Amenities:5 Knowledge:5 Service:5 Location:4 Staff:5 Price:4 Who leaves a rare 5 star review for an Optical location that is not focused around physical items, well that would be below. I went in for an eye exam because of the challenges faced with the typical red eyes, blurry vision, tired eyes and every other symptom you typical can expect from todays times. I walked out with a solution to a problem I have been chasing for 4 years with no less than 3 different optometrist who never even bothered to take the time to consider it. Something I did not originally even go in for, and that is dry eyes and how I landed with a Dr that actually has a focus on this I will say luck of the draw. I have had three different eyeglass prescriptions, been explained I have astigmatism(s), been told that my eyes are fine it all depends on who you go see. None of these have netted anything that a very small marginal difference and usually has me switching between three different glasses depending on the time of the day. The result of leaving here, is for the first time in those 4+ years I was able to actually see clearer than any of the above situations, I had a path forward and was explained extensively the reasons why. Shown dye based images of my eye, pictures, videos of why things where happening and how it could be improved. Dry eyes caused back lack of oil production from the glands located in the lid of your eyes, and yes he can specifically focus and work on this IN HIS OFFICE. No need to go to a facility, or setup another appointment and again I walked out and for the first time I was not seeing slightly blurry and double vision all depending on each time I blinked. Do yourself a favor meet his staff, they are not irritated you are there and they are not over the top fake "dr office nice" they genuinely are there to just assist and help you and just lends to how he runs his practice. Thank you, please continue bringing this type of knowledge and service to an industry plagued with antiquated knowledge and lackluster service focused only around selling the highest price frames there. read more

Not only is Dr. Tsao is a highly knowledgeable optometrist, but I also felt like I was his top priority during my appointment. Per his recommendation I went to daily contacts even though I've been using biweekly ones my whole life, and never looked back! The front desk staff is also super helpful and they gave me some great suggestions on all the designer frames that they sell as this location. read more

I recommend Eye Theory Midtown without any reservations. Dr. Tsao did a thorough exam, and went well beyond the norm in helping me to decide which prescription worked best for me when I was wavering. I enjoyed my visit to Eye Theory! Dr. Tsao was very friendly and addressed all my concerns. He thoroughly informed me of the results of my exam. Emma, the technician, walked me through each test and informed me of what each of them were for. Picking out glasses is always nerve wrecking for me, but Emma made it easy for me to choose. She was very patient, she listened to my feedback, and showed me various frames that were to my liking. Throughout my visit, they made me feel like I was getting the best care for my eyes! I was recommended to Dr. Tsao by my daughter. I have never been to the eye doctor before, and was a little nervous with having stuff around my eyes. However, Dr. Tsao and his team explained everything thoroughly which made me feel at ease. Also, have you ever made an appointment with a doctor and had to wait several minutes? That is not the case at Eye Theory. I was seen almost immediately after entering. All in all, this was such a great experience and I will definitely be back here for my next annual eye exam! read more

I've never been to the eye doctor a day in my life, but I was recommended this place by my girlfriend after I've had difficulties driving at night. I was quickly attended by the kind staff, and was guided for all the instruments used. They took very good care of me as I have a phobia of things touching my eyes. The doctor is very friendly and was very informative on my results. I recommend this place for any and all eye questions read more

This has been the very best experience I have ever received. Usually when I go to see an optomotrist I have a lot of anxiety because it's scary to not being able to see and the optomotrists were usually dismissive. With this place Dr. Tsao made me feel comfortable and excellent at explaining everything to me. The whole staff was so nice and professional. read more

Had my first appointment with Eye Theory today and was extremely impressed with the service that I received today! I seriously would give them 10 stars if I could! The girl working the front desk was very helpful assisting me with trying on different frames and recommending certain ones for me. They were also doing a great job at keeping the office as clean as possible by sanitizing each pair of glasses after every contact. I was super impressed with the Dr! He was very personable and very helpful. I even had an issue with parking and he offered to walk out himself to fix the issue if needed. My only "complaint" is I felt like the pricing for eye wear and contacts were a little on the high side but other than that I had a wonderful experience and would recommend this office to anyone! read more

Dr. Tsao is the real deal. Not only is he an excellent diagnostician and extremely knowledgeable about a multitude of conditions and therapeutic interventions, but he is also the most present dr I have ever seen before. Dr. Tsao actually listens to what you have to say and takes time to thoroughly educate you on your personal situation/ plan, answer your questions, and discuss any concerns you have. But wait... It gets better. Booking is a breeze, the staff is great, the eyewear selection is one of the best in town, and the space itself is incredibly calming overall. Highly recommended! read more

I enjoyed my visit at Eye Theory. I was received by Josh and Dr Tsao. They were very welcoming and took the time to give clear explanations about everything I needed to know, from the beginning to the end of the visit. In addition to being knowledgeable, they both seemed really passionate about what they do. Their collection is interesting and rather unique with brands such as Ovvo, Etnia Barcelona and Modo, among others. The location is great too: almost right in front of the metro rail station. You can also park in the garage: they will validate your parking. read more

Very helpful. Came here after accident with eye. Doctor was very helpful. Staff was very pleasant and nice. I had a wonderful experience seeing Dr. Tsao. The visit was on time, the office space was beautiful and inviting, and his staff were very friendly and competent. Dr. Tsao really addressed my concerns above and beyond my expectations. It was time for my dreaded annual eye exam and order new contacts. I am new to Midtown so researched optometrists close to me! Found one within walking distance so made an appointment! Y'all from the first phone call to waking out the door with my new contacts, I was blown away!! The staff, the doc, the facility was incredible!!! The staff, super kind and helpful, I waited mere moments before the doc came in!! Dr. Tsao was so sweet and actually took time to school me on some things. Dr. Tsao and his staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. A clean, comfortable office with the latest technology. A great visit.

My visit to Eye Theory was the best experience I've had with any healthcare provider. Dr. Tsao and Josh are remarkably pleasant people who have treated me with such care and respect. I would even stick around to continue chatting with them. They were transparent with their procedures and explained the process of each portion of the vision exam. I was impressed by their wide selection of frames, brand options of contact lenses, and advanced machines (which will make your eye exam fairly quick and easy). I'm very thankful for Dr. Tsao for correcting my eyeglasses and contacts prescription, and astigmatism that has been conservatively unchanged for the past five years by my former optometrist. After switching providers and prescriptions, I feel much happier and comfortable with my vision now. I also finally found glasses that I genuinely love and am not afraid to wear outside of the house. I highly recommend these guys at Eye Theory! I will be returning and referring my friends to them. :) read more
