10 out of 10, I was told I need glasses, this was a shock to me, I've always had 2020|2025 vision since the army, that was 8 years ago. I'm 30+, moved to Texas and while exchanging my CA drivers license I failed the "vision test" I immediately left and found the closest Optometrist to my home and from the moment I walked in the door, I felt a genuine sense of relief. The team was so nice, cordial, conversative, and attentive. I would go back just for the atmosphere and conversation. Dr. Jonathan Tsao is excellent, everything you'd hope for in a highly qualified optometrist. I have 4 in-stock frames that I've purchased and 2 I've ordered and will have eye theory order lenses for. You can bring any frame you've loved including cheap $2 sunglasses from gas stations you're fond of. Every time I find out I have to stop by Eye Theory, I get as excited as going to my favourite Haircutters. You will too =) Yes, the prices are high, but the technology, courtesy, attention, and deals are so good, I've set them up as my primary vision services provider (VSP) for my DeltaVision benefits. Lenses are polycarbonate, free Blue Light and Anti-glare upgrades. Lenses within 5-7 business days. So happy with my experience at Eye Theory! Came to get a new glasses/contacts prescription. Upon entering, I was offered water or sparkling water, and they sat down with me to explain the breakdown of costs and what my insurance would and wouldn't cover. I then went into a room where they performed 4 different tests, most of which I have never had before--I was so impressed with the technology they had at the office! Finally, I sat down with Dr. Tsao, and he went through my results and did some reading exams. Dr. Tsao is so knowledgeable, thorough, and great at explaining things in scientific yet simple terms. He diagnosed me with astigmatism in both eyes (which my previous doctor had never even mentioned), and he examined my eyes further when I mentioned I was experiencing dry eye with my contacts. Turns out my eyes are extremely dry (which I kinda already knew hahah--but it's nice to be officially diagnosed) and I'll be back for more testing in a week. At the end of my appointment, they gave me a little time to look at the frames they had, but never once pressured me to purchase. I was very happy about this, since I was not intending to buy frames that day, and one of my main issues with optometrists is the pressure to buy on the spot. Found Eye Theory Midtown when in search of a long overdue eye exam and chose them because of their raving reviews and proximity to my house. As soon as you walk in, you feel as if you're in a luxury optometrist's office. Everything is clean, spaced out perfectly, and my OCD self was very pleased. The office staff was extremely kind and helpful in teaching me how to wear contact lenses and helping me find a pair of glasses that was perfect (no exaggeration, perfect) for my face shape. Strong push to buy their eye wash products at ridiculous prices not happy to give prescriptions bc want you to order from them and their super jacked up prices. talked us into contacts ....there was a reason no one else suggested these...they don't work area with a lot of foot traffic....steps from metrorail. I went in for an eye exam because of the challenges faced with the typical red eyes, blurry vision, tired eyes and every other symptom you typical can expect from todays times. I walked out with a solution to a problem I have been chasing for 4 years with no less than 3 different optometrist who never even bothered to take the time to consider it. Something I did not originally even go in for, and that is dry eyes and how I landed with a Dr that actually has a focus on this I will say luck of the draw. I have had three different eyeglass prescriptions, been explained I have astigmatism(s), been told that my eyes are fine it all depends on who you go see. None of these have netted anything that a very small marginal difference and usually has me switching between three different glasses depending on the time of the day. The result of leaving here, is for the first time in those 4+ years I was able to actually see clearer than any of the above situations, I had a path forward and was explained extensively the reasons why. Shown dye based images of my eye, pictures, videos of why things where happening and how it could be improved. Dry eyes caused back lack of oil production from the glands located in the lid of your eyes, and yes he can specifically focus and work on this IN HIS OFFICE. No need to go to a facility, or setup another appointment and again I walked out and for the first time I was not seeing slightly blurry and double vision all depending on each time I blinked. Do yourself a favor meet his staff, they are not irritated you are there and they are not over the top fake "dr office nice" they genuinely are there to just assist and help you and just lends to how he runs his practice. Thank you, please continue bringing this type of knowledge and service to an industry plagued with antiquated knowledge and lackluster service focused only around selling the highest price frames there. read more

Had my first appointment with Eye Theory today and was extremely impressed with the service that I received today! I seriously would give them 10 stars if I could! The girl working the front desk was very helpful assisting me with trying on different frames and recommending certain ones for me. They were also doing a great job at keeping the office as clean as possible by sanitizing each pair of glasses after every contact. I was super impressed with the Dr! He was very personable and very helpful. I even had an issue with parking and he offered to walk out himself to fix the issue if needed. My only "complaint" is I felt like the pricing for eye wear and contacts were a little on the high side but other than that I had a wonderful experience and would recommend this office to anyone! read more

Not only is he an excellent diagnostician and extremely knowledgeable about a multitude of conditions and therapeutic interventions, but he is also the most present dr I have ever seen before. They were very welcoming and took the time to give clear explanations about everything I needed to know, from the beginning to the end of the visit. In addition to being knowledgeable, they both seemed really passionate about what they do. Very helpful. Came here after accident with eye. Doctor was very helpful. Staff was very pleasant and nice. I had an emergency while they were closed and the doctor still called me to go over some things which really helped me ease my mind. My visit to Eye Theory was the best experience I've had with any healthcare provider. Dr. Tsao and Josh are remarkably pleasant people who have treated me with such care and respect. I would even stick around to continue chatting with them. They were transparent with their procedures and explained the process of each portion of the vision exam. I was impressed by their wide selection of frames, brand options of contact lenses, and advanced machines (which will make your eye exam fairly quick and easy). I'm very thankful for Dr. Tsao for correcting my eyeglasses and contacts prescription, and astigmatism that has been conservatively unchanged for the past five years by my former optometrist.
