I own a unit in Quail Lakes RV Park in Desert Hot Springs, CA. As a part of our monthly charges, we have Spectrum TV and streaming service through a bulk account. All we have to do is get the equipment from Spectrum to connect. I phoned Spectrum and spoke to a fellow in Kentucky. He told me he could ship the equipment to me, but that I could just as easily pick it up at the Spectrum store in Desert Hot Springs. So I went to the Spectrum store. The employee there was not only totally unhelpful but also didn't seem to care about customer service at all. He told me they don't provide equipment to bulk account customers. I told him that the Spectrum employee I talked to not ten minutes earlier said they did. He said his boss said they don't. I asked him to talk to his boss. His response was "It's his day off." There was no effort to accommodate my needs at all. He simply didn't care! If I were his boss, he wouldn't be working for me past the end of the day! read more

Rate jumped from $79 to $119. Their defense is that the notice was on the previous months, which those of us on paperless billing is USELESS. Additionally, I had to upgrade the equipment and after I did, they slapped on $10/month WiFi fee. I told them repeatedly I do not want their WiFi because I have my own. When the technician came to my house to swap out the equipment, I asked specifically if I would get charged for WiFi and that I didn't want it Of course his response was that he's not in billing. When I called "customer service" to get it fixed, they said because the WiFi modem was plugged in, the charges are valid and refused to remove them. I switched to Pace fiber optic internet. I e gone in there several times for help, to be disappointed. Once I needed help with my phone, they said they don't do that and told me to go to the Apple Store instead. Last week I.needed my charger the guy immediately stated they don't carry any chargers, I could see they had several on the wall. The other guy working there told him to get me a charger. Once I went in and told them my WiFi wasn't working. He asked if my tv was old. I had just purchased my tv. He said I needed to call the manufacturer of the tv, cause it wasn't them. I was second in line with no appointment to get a phone I ordered online ported from my old phone and had tried the directions enough to get very frustrated and feeling like I was losing my marbles. When I saw what the customer service guy had to do I felt 1000 times better as ever he ran into several land mines. Bought a phone and insurance 2 years ago. Spectrum scanned the wrong phone for insurance, not something I would notice. Phone is now broken. Assurant won't cover because they think we insured a phone we didn't buy. Spectrum store refused to help despite their mistake and said to call 611. 611 said since the transaction was in store, store had to resolve. Tried to get clerks to talk to 611, but they made up excuses why they couldnt. Note that at this point ive been dealing with the issue for many hours a day for a week. Nobody did anything but point to somebody else. my extreme frustration led me to use adult language. No yelling no pounding, just typical adult frustration. Apparently that made me aggressive in their eyes and they threatened me with the police. 611 hung up after telling me I was aggressive. So, where's my replacement phone? Refund for inuance payments? Being treated like a valued customer? surely the pd has better things to do than investigate a four- letter word. New carrier and new phones tomorrow, followed by a lawsuit to recover the phone I am due. Don't believe Spectrum. They could.not care less about a customer except for their money. And BTW, why can't clerks be trained that if they frustrate or anger an adult, they re going to hear adult language. that is not aggression. Being threatened with violence is aggression. They told me they could not tell me how much the discount would be and that I would have to go to a Spectrum store to get the information. Now you know what the situation is at their stores. One employee in the whole store and 20 people in line. The whole company is a hoax with double talking employees. You can talk to 5 reps and get 5 different answers. Spectrum is not the best company, it has its issues like every provider. Compared to Frontier and others, Spectrum is more reliable with replacing faulty equipment, checking in your service or equipment without hidden fees. They are pretty fast at getting back to you, and despite not being as affordable as other providers the lack of hidden fees and surprise charges has actually made Spectrum the company I have returned to. Other providers have charged me or my grandmother surprise fees and going well over 100$ when that's not what we signed up for. At least with spectrum the wifi is decent, reliable, the land line is great. The process of signing up for Life Line was much easier than competition. Spectrum has a free app that allows streaming all the same channels on consoles, cell phones, smart phones, computers etc. For free. Other competition does not offer that type of service, turning most devices into an extension of your cable box. So free Cartoons, news, etc. On most devices which surprisingly works?!? Spectrum will make things work if you call them and have patience, some of their workers are incompetent but with patience you will be given what you seek. Truth is no cable company is perfect and each is it's own head ache, but spectrum will do right by its customers, whether to be kind or out of fear of a BBB complaint its unclear. I am not happy with spectrums customer service, but I am satisfied with my bill. The 4th star is only due to its competitions lack of quality in every way, but spectrum is really only offering 3 star service, which is "OK" but not terrible like Frontier and others. I have had spectrum a few times and while not perfect at least its reliable and up front. I have lived in Palm Springs for six years. During that time, Time Warner merged to create Spectrum and monopolize the entire country. I have lost telephone and internet services on a rolling basis. There have been no storms, no possible reasons for this company's inability to provide the services for which they charge ever-increasing monthly fees. The few notices acknowledging these continued outages come via internet, which is not operable. Four modems and multiple technicians have come to replace faulty equipment, assuring me I would have no more problems. I am a disabled senior who cannot afford a cellphone. Hard to imagine in this world, isn't it? My landline and internet connections are my only contact with the outside world, yet Spectrum cannot deliver or even offer explanations. On my call this morning, technical support transferred me to billing for a credit. Spectrum offered me a $2.00 credit for services not properly provided since 2015. How can a company operate this way? By saying, "We are sorry; that is a different department." Not one employee could give me a reasonable explanation for their horrendous service. How is this even legal? If you have ANY alternative to Spectrum, please use it. Otherwise, you will be paying for services this worthless company is unable to provide. read more

I have had TWC for about a month X3 bundle. Tv and phone are fine Internet sucks I have 30 Mps which should be plenty. Since I don't watch movies or play games. I only have 2 items running at a time. Constant buffering. Having to re boot there modem/router constantly. They told me to upgrade to 50 Mps. For $10.00 more. Oh how I laughed. They are coming out again 3rd time on 12/5/15 with 2 senior techs. They tried to charge me for the 3rd visit oh how I laughed at the lady in the Philippines. We shall see. My wifi was on and off every 5-10 minutes everyday for 2 months. Somebody came over and tried to fix it but after a couple of days it went back to a crappy internet. Now their on demand service can't be accessed by anybody. You pay for a high price internet and good channels but can't use them both. They should be giving us money back for the couple of days/months that their service was down. read more

using the "800" call-in - TERRIBLE service - find a different provider - 1st I called for support, they want $5.00 to speak to a representative - 2nd the wait time is 45 minutes to talk with a representative - 3rd they need to know what time zone you are in before they will return your call. Clearly the help call is being routed overseas, clearly, Spectrum does not want you to use this service. I called to start service. I knew I should have asked for another sales rep on the phone because this idiot kept asking the same questions over and over and then he did not place the correct order. I specifically told him I need a new line because the last time someone came they said the cable lines need to be replaced. I asked him 3 times if he understood what I said. So I take the day off, I drive 2 hours from my home and the cable guy says he is just the hook up guy, you need the cable construction guy to install new lines. WTH! ! I have had Time Warner Cable in my home since I bought it in 2006, their prices keep going on about 25 to 30.00 a year, so this year I cancelled my cable tv and phone and kept the internet, I was told I had to change over now to the Spectrum service, I was told that my Modem I had needed to be changed out because it was not able to work on the spectrum service, well I went to swap out the modem and that is where all my problems started, my new modem did not work right, my Wifi was next to nothing, called a service tech came out told me that my modem I had before was able to work with the service and was a better modem then they have now, well he brought in another modem, it would not work, at all so he hooked my modem I got from the office back up at least I had some service even if I got dumped off all the time it was better then no service at all. I call spectrum again told them the problem, a service tech sup came out to my house by the name of Rob or Bob here in DHS, told he the problem he started laughing I told him to get the hell out of my house, I call Spectrum back again file a complaint on him, and told them the problem so they scheduled out another tech, had to wait 2 days, he came out yesterday worked on my internet got it working and told me that he found the problem it was a cable and changed it out and disconnected all the other cables going to all the rooms since I did not need them, my service worked great for about 4 hours and then went dead, nothing I went in to look, my router went out it was no power at all so I called again and they told me that the modem I had and the router they hooked up was not compatible that is why it stopped it over loaded the router so he set up another appointment for today Sunday between 6 and 7 pm, I waited and waited come 7:30 pm I call and they said my appointment was cancelled, WTF is wrong with this company, its been downhill ever since I switched from TWC to Spectrum, when I called they told me I would have to wait and get a call tomorrow to set up another appointment, I told them at this time I do not want the service they can take it out of my house, he said he would have to transfer me to another dept, so a women answered the phone I told her I wanted to speak to a supervisor she would not let me speak to one, so I told her that my next step was the Media, I am going to call and speak to someone at the local news station about what has been going on here. Time warner cable, from my research is the only game in town, with regards to cable services. My recent experience with this company has been, in my opinion, technically inept regarding my cable internet service. I ordered only internet service and decided to only watch the movies from Hulu or Netflix internet services. Once I began to watch Hulu, my cable service has problems. It constantly buffers when watching movies or selections from these cable video producers. in the In the 15 days that I have used this cable company, and watching Hulu, the cable will buffer roughly 1 every 10-15 minuets per hour. After the second or third occurrence a screen appears which says "Playback Failure please check the connection". I have spoken to their technical department and they recommended I check the internet download speed check and we found that there was a problem. They are no closer now that they were then. Does anyone else have the same problem. The implications are that this company is the only game in town, therefore they can do whatever they want with out the problem of competition, what do you think? Don't seem right, does it. read more

I had spectrum in 2018, it was fine, then I had problems with my VIOP phone, which gives me free service, but for the phone tax of $5 a month, an OOMA phone system. I have been using OOMA for 13 years, then I started having trouble with the connection about one in 3 calls. THen my contract was up and th price went from $39.99 to 59.99, so I switch to Frontier, also a 1 star performance by $30 a month. Still had the same problem with my VOIP. So after a year of putting up with it, I a low cost add mailed for spectrum, of 17.99, when I called up the told me went up to 22.99, I asked about price increase at the end of the year and they told me that won't happen. THey also told me t hat my area in DHS was designated low income and the price is fixed, and too bad I had called them sooner to get the lower price. Probably all bull shit. I will know when the year is up in about 3 months. I don't like bull shit which is why I don't watch the ruling classes (corporations) media. Amazingly this time the OOMA hasn't dropped a call are take 5 seconds for to connect when I pick up the receiver. I now assume it was some glitch in the Spectrum sending and receive, possible a fraction of a second bit rate going to zero, because I could hear a soft, quick click. Now I don't hear that. I love the capitalist system. It enough to turn to pot for entertainment. I gave it a 1 star for the first time I had Spectrum. read more

TWC's job is to provide cable TV service. I have never seen such poor TV service. Their equipment (always refurbished) drops signal, the remote can't manage to change channels without freezing up, despite replacing the batteries on a weekly basis. I am forced to reboot the system as many as 5 times a day to receive a stable signal. It's really wonderful when you wait all week for a favorite primetime TV program, only to have the cable crash 30 minutes into the program, as it did last Sunday night during 'Madam Secretary.' I know TWC is busy in the residential real estate market, building hi rise condo buildings in Midtown Manhattan for the spoils to buy and call home. However, if TWC is now reinvesting their profits in residential real estate in the most expensive city in American and not in TV cable equipment, then they need to make a public announcement so cable customers know this and can make a choice. I am switching to Direct-TV today. I am all done with TWC. read more

Going in to TWC office in DHS, people lined up and only one agent. As the agent was going over every possibly combination of services with the older customer, other customers were coming in and leaving. No other service agents at the office, no other people anywhere in the office. After 10 min I went down to the PS office and it was backed up and the waiting lobby was full! Three agents and "take a number" I tried to cancel my service on the telephone and it was a 20 min call, when I finally hung up with the lady that was not allowing me to cancel the service. ABSOLUTE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I can't stop the service, can't drop off the router and no way to get past connected to a supervisor. As of now, been in the chat Q for 40 mins. Former Verizon Fios customer due to getting laid off. Move to newer home with family and have to get phone tv and internet to save compared to no phone just the other two. The signal keeps going in and out this 30/50 seems more like 6/11 to me. And this p.o.sn used crummy small signal area modem sucks wtf is this oh yeah formerly Adlephia cable which had poor connection speeds and nothing much was done about it cause they were going bankrupt and bought out and still not much done about the speed actually being what was announced on the commercial. I am so thankful I started working again cause I'm getting verizon a.s.a.p. I was getting 50/50 for $79.99 a month. Two tablets, three smart phones, a blu ray streaming a movie, xbox 360 streaming a movie, playing a game online with xbox one, and another xbox 360 online at the same time and no lag no set backs and not having to reset the modem. I NEVER ONCE RESET MY MODEM THE 6 MONTHS I HAD IT AFTER INSTALLATION. With Time Warner if I turn on a lap top or xbox after three smart phones just connected and two tablets being played on the internet if I turn on a lap top everything lags ot an xbox and the signal quits and have to reset the modem all over again. It is with great sadness that even giving TWC one star as a rating is because I took a Tylenol just before I wrote this due to the constant headaches this god awful company would give anyone. I can pretty much guaranty that TWC cable will fail at all levels on a consistent level, but there is hope. No sooner than Verizon Vios is available in my area I will abandon TWC like a hot rock. This is very simple to figure out; TWC has gotten so big that any and all quality concerning the customer went out the door. Constant blackout service , terrible customer service , missing channels , untrained customer service personnel that will tell you anything but when it comes down to it, will never happen . Appointments made in order to favor TWC schedule and not your schedule and to top it off they may not even show up. Field offices with only one employee taking care of 20 at a time while the other is not there or leave you stranded all together. There are no bad companies, just bad management.
