It is very rare that I get exceptional customer service at a utility, like Spectrum, so when I do I want that person to be recognized. Steven K. at the Pineville Matthews Road location in Charlotte gave us exceptional customer service during our visit on 5/8/2026. We brought my 84-year old mom in with her very old cell phone that was making strange noises and pop-ups. Steven was super kind and gentle with my mom. He examined the phone for viruses and then explained what he thought might be the problem with it (she was holding in a button too long). NOBODY at that location has every been so nice and kind to her. He never made her feel bad or ashamed about her old phone and didn't try to pressure her to get another one. When I thanked him for being so kind he was very humble and acted like he believed that is how you treat your elders who have trouble with technology. He is a true gem and we are very grateful for his kindness making our day. I hope his example spreads to some of the others we have experienced at that store. read more

Could be one of the worst run places I've ever been in. Employees do not recognize/acknowledge people when they come in, don't seem to care about anything/anyone(very distant/bored), and don't apologize or care when they mess up!! There were 7 of us signed in as walk ins, first 2 had left. So they call the next 2 and the 3 of us left were just erased from the waitlist- We got texts saying thanks for coming. When we spoke up they first thought we were lying, didn't apologize- and didn't care. Then the guy told me my husband had to do the change, though he isn't even on my mobile account! Stay away from this location. I've not had the same issues at the one on South Blvd, but this one is closer to my home (not by much though). Anyways, we had been having trouble with good connectivity with our wifi. I called Spectrum and they noted that we had a very old modem/router combo and I should take it in to be swapped out. In the time being, he would relink things to see if it could help. I made an appointment that fit with my work schedule and showed up about 5 minutes before my appointment. There was only one person working and a crowd of people waiting. I waited and my name was not called as scheduled. Finally, two more people came out to help with the crowd, still really not enough. My name still was not being called so I went up to the counter to one guy after he finished with the previous customer and mentioned I had an appointment. He said my name would be called at my appointment time. I told him that my appointment time has come and gone, he quickly changed his tune and offered to help me out. He switched out my modem and I asked him if the wifi just automatically connects when I hook it back up. He said yes, if not to call the help number. I left, went back home and hooked up the modem. Wifi would not connect so I called for help and was told that I was given a modem that does not have wifi capabilities and I would have to go back to exchange. Furious, I went back to the store and marched right in to the guy that had helped me out. I did not care if the still full waiting room would get upset that I did not check in. I was not waiting again. I told him he gave me the wrong modem. He said that was impossible as they only have one modem type, unless I had that modem/router combo. I said I did. And he responded with my bad. You think? Obviously, poor customer service here, inattentive, not able to handle the crowd promptly and timely, and making me spend my work time to travel back and forth for mistakes made that could have been avoided. We all know it won't get better with Spectrum, but at least more options are coming available to us customers with tv/internet/etc. A change may be in the future for this long time customer. read more

DO NOT come to this location. One of the worst customer experiences I've had in a while. I setup my internet at home and had the option to pick up modem in store or have it shipped. I figured picking it up in store would be faster - no where online did it say pickup in store requires an appointment. Got to the store and I've been waiting for an hour and a half. The attendants have been with the same customers the whole time. At this point I'm leaving and having it shipped. In the world of customer experience being so important over online buying this store has proved that online wins. This has been a horrible horrible experience and the management needs to train their associates on their time management skills. The lady at the front also didn't set a time expectation window so we have NO clue how long we're supposed to wait. When asked she says not sure. So here is the latest. I've been trying to get my service to deliver the speed that I'm paying for. I've had multiple technicians out to fiddle with this and that. Each tech finds something that was not addressed by the last tech. Most recently the tech replaced the modem and the router which really seemed to fix it...I thought (hoped). On Sunday June 11th at 3pm, the internet went out due to bad weather (which it always does with this provider anytime it rains "too hard"). The last time this happened the technician was negligent and didn't turn my Wi-Fi back on for my building's unit, so I went a WEEK without internet (as a work from home employee). Extremely unacceptable.... Today, Monday June 12th at 6:30am I called to see why my building still has no internet (again as a work from home employee) and no updates on what's going on are in the system. Technicians have supposedly been working nonstop since but I was told it's just my building without internet again and that they have no idea when the internet will be working again. Then at 7am I received a text saying if my service outage lasts 4 hours no or longer then I'll receive a credit as if there hasn't been been a service outage they've been "working to restore" since yesterday at 3pm.... Update as of 9am: I received a call and text message saying that the internet was restored YET ONCE AGAIN, my building is still without internet even though the "internet is restored". I called a representative who I am now speaking with and even though I have been without internet since Sunday at 3pm and they've sent away the team that was "working to restore the internet" I now have to wait until tomorrow Tuesday (June 13) at 10am-11am for them to be able to send out a technician to fix my building's internet. Negligence to my building only ONCE AGAIN. Spectrum's service is a joke at this point honestly. I've literally never dealt with a provider that had as many issues with providing internet as Spectrum does. It makes no sense..then they try to push more services on you as if they are efficiently able to provide the one internet service you're forced to have with them if you live in an area like mine where they are the only provider. The only plus out of all of this is the old technician supervisor that always is quick to help after the week of me going without internet but I shouldn't have to bother him for things like this. read more

I don't know which is worse spectrum or FedEx. Spectrum was supposed to send the phone a week ago, then the rep who sold the phone didn't let us know that it would need a signature at delivery. So FedEx has been trying to deliver and get a signature while I'm at work. And then Spectrum NOR Fedex could change the address so they can just send it to the store or to my job. And both just point fingers at each other and just keep telling me to call either or to try to figure out where the phone is. . It should have been simple task ,.where the representative asked which address to send it to and confirm that they would need a signature. And boom it could have been sent to the store or my job. But noooooo, it's a week later and STILL no phone. Here I am again at spectrum store, after a week of running around between FedEx and spectrum because none of the 1800 customer service reps, can figure out where the package is, what Warehouse its at, it's been delivered or when it will be delivered!! They have literally sent me on a wild goose chase for a week sending me to different FedEx stores and different Spectrum numbers to find out where THEY ship the package SMH. Now they're talking about if they cancel it it's going to be another 3 WEEKKSSS for the phone to get in. And they won't even give you some type of provisional credit to just go ahead and buy a phone out the store because of the headache they and FedEx has caused!! And like a nut I blame myself I had a long day at work and I didn't think to even put my foot down about no you're not mailing me a phone just give me the one out the store. Because as soon as I went to Spectrum today the girls like oh you can just buy it out the store. Like are you kidding me?!? All this could have been avoided??!! . But the other rep in the store just was like yeah we got to mail it to you. So I blame myself for not thinking in that moment . . This has been a VERY frustrating experience and I'm very disappointed with the spectrum and FedEx.!!! When transferring my account to my new Charlotte address, a store salesperson quickly provided the technical advice needed. Today, I had a problem with emails on my laptop that couldn't be resolved after a chat with a Spectrum technician. Within 10 minutes of arriving at this store, Fonz had diagnosed and fixed the issue. If I could give this place no stars or negative stars I would. This store is probably the most poorly managed place I've ever been. Having an appointment or not makes no difference. The staff is untrained and extremely slow. I waited about an hour to return a piece of equipment...I was the third person to enter the store when it opened. Completely inexcusable. Top it off with IT issues that no one seemed to be able to solve. Um, you guys are selling technology and you can't figure out how to make the printers work??? As far as the service? Unfortunately they're seem to be the only game in town - at least where I live. I am considering giving up my cable TV and sticking with my Hulu and Firestick. Spectrum's basic plan pretty much sucks anyway, so I'm not really giving up much. Although I'm not looking forward to having to stand for another hour to turn in that equipment. If you are planning to visit this store or any other - since I've been told that all of their stores have ridiculous waits, go ahead and make an appointment, but bring a book because you will wait...for a long time! I wish there was a minus 5 star rating I could give or something less than a 1. Spectrum does not even deserve a 1 star. Spectrum is a total consumer abuser! I called almost 4 weeks in advance to cancel service for my residential account and was told they could not do it at that time because I was too far out from the cancelation date. The CSR on that call simply said to call back closer to the requested cancelation date and provided no other information. Well, I call the day before I wanted the service canceled, no problem. I then get a bill for $283 for the following month of service after my requested cancelation date which I thought was a mistake. I called customer service and they said Spectrum does NOT pro-rate their services and the reason I was getting billed for the entire month is because I called 2 days after my billing cycle ended. I was never provided with that information in the initial call a month before. Why, why was I not informed of this during that call is what I want to know??? The CSR on this new call basically did not care about my complaint nor tried to fix it in any way shape or form. She basically said suck it. Not even after I told her I had 2 existing commercial accounts with them. She did not care one bit to make it right. Not even for the sake of the other 2 commercial accounts. Long story short, I cancelled my other 2 commercial accounts as well with them because this is TOTAL CONSUMER ABUSE and I do not want to have any type of business relationship with an abusive provider. This is just ridiculous. So, consumer beware that their actual internet, phone and TV service is not that great to begin with, but that they will trick you any way they can and try to suck the last penny out of you if they can. I canceled my service in the middle of my billing cycle and they are going to charge me an extra 20 days for service I will never use. My wife and I switched our mobile phone service to Spectrum and received new SIM cards in the mail. Unfortunately, there were multiple problems setting up our new service and I decided on Friday afternoon (7-31-20) to seek help at the Spectrum store on Pineville Matthews Road in Pineville. The automated system they use to refer customers to service agents assigned me to a young woman who was wearing her mask on her chin. I am an older man, well into the time of life that makes contracting Covid-19 particularly dangerous. For a while, I stood my distance as the young woman tried to work out the problem. But as time went on--unable to help, she called Spectrum for further suggestions--I asked if she could pull her mask up. Her reply astounded me: "I can't deal with it. You can go to one of the other agents if you want." At that point I picked up my phones and left the store. Later, I realized I should have asked to see the manager. Not only did this young woman refuse to mask effectively, she also handed me the phone on which she had called Spectrum and disappeared for about fifteen minutes into the back room. This is customer service? Spectrum should be ashamed at allowing their representatives to behave this way. I will not be back in that Spectrum store for a very long time and I would recommend that you stay very far away as well. read more

I just wanted to give and update of my previous review that I wrote on April 16, 2019. I really wasn't expecting a called by from a Spectrum Rep, but I got on April 17, 2019. He apologized for Spectrum not explaining everything that should have been explained to me during my conversation, with the sales rep on April 8th. Even though I cannot go back to my old TWC plan, after turning in all my equipment, I was offered discount on my next bill and a Gold Package at a discounted rate for a year. Even though, I'm still not completely satisfied, because my TWC plan and equipment was much better than what I have now, what do you do? I do appreciate the return phone call and trying to make it right, but it's going to take me some time to get over the "shake and bake" to get me out of my old TWC package. read more

I signed up for Spectrum Business and it was a complete hassle. I had Business Account managers fighting over my account, then it took over a month fir the install, they offered me a $99 refund for the install and first month free. I never got my first bill and so o called and they said I had a past due balance when my credits should had taken care of that. They reassured me that it would be put through and there was nothing I needed to do and then they shut my account off for no payment I called made a payment and they turned the service back on. A month later I get another text saying my bill is past due. I call again and they say the credits still have not been applied. The service is mediocre at best with i er priced services for slow speeds the billing is also a nightmare. I have no other internet choices unfortunately but once I do I will drop them immediately. Horrible. 12 registers, 2 reps and 1 greeter. The greeter watched tv in between checking people in. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was told I had to wait until my turn in the queue. At one point a new person appeared on the queue out of nowhere. I asked if the manager was on the floor and after convincing the greeter to pull away from her show, she went to the back for a about 5 min and said the manager had apparently left. ?? On this day there are three people standing at computers, but only one helping someone. Also, why is there someone checking people in. It's a self check-in so it's pretty self explanatory.
